Is Mail setting Mime format correctly?
I am writing software that processes mail using the php pear class mimemail. This software is unable to processes a mail sent using Mac mail that contains a word attachement where the word attachement has an image in the header. Obscure I know! I don't know if this is a Mac Mail problem or a Pear problem, but I am posting to both to try and resolve. Here is a segment of the mail for a word document with no image in the header

The problem occurs because the pear package does not find the filename.
I can send a copy of the mail causing the problem if that would help.
Mac OS X (10.4.1)
The problem was the PEAR library. Upgraded PEAR and now fixed.

Hi All
I am currently using the email receiver adapter with mail package and able to send the MIME messgae format from the content field of the mail package.
i am sending 3 attchments from MIME format in content, when i use the Mail package i cannot send the BCC and CC fields in that, so i have chnages my configuration to send the MIME message with attachments without using the mail package but i am not able to receive the mail with attachment.
when i send the MIME fomat without using the mailpackage entire format cmes as mail content...with MIME header and other details.
How do i specify the mail receiver adapter to recoginze the message as MIME and send content and attchment in that.
i have included the MIME header also.
kindly let me know about this.
regards
Nisar KhanHi Stefan,
I tried passing the MIME strucutre in the same way as in your blog, but i am not getting the output in a proper way, i am getting the attachment but no content in email.
i tired with the various combinations ofr MIME formats, the content doesnt come only attachments appear.
have passed the obligatory lines also and (content type is multipart with boundary detail)
Lot of the email notifations to the customers have CC and BCC fields and multiple attachmetns genreteated in mapping like HTML, XSL etc....this is imp part of our design and we dont want to use any module developemnt for this.
let me know have you tried this, does this work?

Can some one please help.Hi,
Which email format does the email change to?
Please try to delete the email address entry from suggested contact and test it again.
In addition, please go to Outlook Properties of the Contact and check if you have changed Internet Format for the email address (check this in Outlook 2010). See:
http://www.msoutlook.info/question/449
Please let me know the result.

The livecycle designed form has javascript to send the form to 4 recipients. The form worked fine until the mail domain was hosted by gmail (uses TLS, port 587). Now recipients get a MIME email, not the attached PDF. Old versions of the form pre-sept 29 work fine. If we change the form or copy it, it does not work. If we use a different smtp server to test, it works fine, all 4 recipients get the pdf. Any advice is much appreciated! I'd say gmail is the problem, but then why do old forms work fine still through gmail?
the setup is Adobe Livecycle Designer ES4, Adobe Acrobat XI, Outlook 2007, gmail hosted company domain (ex. yourdomain.com), using SMTP port 587 TLS, javascript in the email to declare a PDF, and a button to run the javascript (not a submit button, the javascript does the submit action).
problem looks like this:

Once you have that set up you can use the value(s) selected in this field as the recipients of the email. -
Mail "Looses" HTML Formatting Apparently Randomly
I use Mac OS X Mail and generally have very few issues. However, I ocassionally receive emails which I know are formatted as HTML, but they nevertheless show up as text... and sort of jumbled text at that (i.e., with URL links expanded inline and other issues that cause the email to be difficult to read). It doesn't happen extremely often, but it does happen often enough to be annoying. I have Mail sync'ed to several accounts: one POP3, and two IMAP as I recall. It has happened with emails retrieved from each service at one time or another.
As I understand it, an HTML email usually also contains a text version within the content... and each mail client has to recognize a given email as either HTML or text (or RTF). Indeed, I can view the raw source for the email in Mail, and I see in the payload of the email statements such as "This is a multi-part message in MIME format" followed by sections denoted as Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 and later as Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64. It just seems that Mail occassionally ignores the text/html section.
Is there a way to force Mail to switch display of a given message to HTML or to text? I see options to select "Text Encoding" under the Message menu bar option, various stylistic choices under the Format header, and even the View Raw Source option under View | Message menu bar option. This last option (View | Message) also has some options regarding display "alternatives" (plaintext, best, next, etc) but all are greyed-out. Perhaps this is the issue and Mail is simply not understanding the HTML due to a slight mistake in the format of the content and it thinks it is only displayable as plain text?Hi Alec,
Did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem and it's driving me nuts. Partly because my husband's email message displays our friend's email in Rich Text, yet my email message from them shows the same email in plain text. We have both of our mac mail accounts set up on my laptop, and I can't figure out what it is in my account that's set up differently than his. They look identical.
The "View" column only has RAW and All Headers as available options for my viewing pleasure with that message. The rest are grayed out. Yet my husband has all of the options, including Next and Best Alternative available for that very same message. I can change our friend's message in my husband's email to plain and back again. But there's no option under my email message to do that.
Luckily, when I get an email from our friend I can look at my husband's to see the Rich text version. But it sure is frustrating.
Thanks! -

A cyclic job runs, which processes the messages seen in the SOST queue.
Are you sure it's not the frequency of the cyclic job, rather than the
number of messages in the queue, that you are observing? In messages
that are queued and before the cyclic job runs, "wait for comm. service"
is the normal status.
If you mean that there are always 4 items queued in SOST regardless of
the cyclic send job, then I have no ideas. I would have thought there
was no way to do that.
when the send job runs it just never
picks them up & sends them, while it picks up many others. The send job
is somehow blind to these; no error message occurs. In this case, I
'delete' them from the queue (in SOST) and then 'undelete' (drop down
menu -> /Go to /Deleted Items) them and then re-queue them. THEN they
actually get picked up & sent when the next cyclic send job executes.

Hey
i have an apple time capsule (not the very latest one, but the one before that) and i am trying to connect my 1.5TB toshiba hard drive to it. i understand that it needs to be powered, so i purchased a usb hub ("usb hub man" by Gadget Geek) and bought an adapter to power it.
The hard drive won't show up in finder or disk utility, however i can see it in airport utility.
it is formatted correctly - Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted) and works perfectly fine from my macbook pro usb port.
Also, when i connect a smaller hard drive to the hub (16GB) that shows up in finder as normal.
so it seems that everything is perfectly fine, however this 1.5TB hard drive just wont show up in finder.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is the case? my guesses are that i need to get a better quality usb hub, or that i might have to get a powered hard drive altogether rather than trying to power it with the hub.
ThanksThe hard drive won't show up in finder or disk utility, however i can see it in airport utility.
You would not expect it to show up in disk utility .. it does not work on network drives.
Finder may or may not be able to see it.
If the airport utility is showing the drive you have some possibility.
Did you GUID partition the drive .. or is it still MBR.. ie if it was originally formatted for PC it will be MBR and won't work.. so put it on the Mac again and change the GUID partition.. I would also set a smaller partition size.. the internal drive of the TC is partitioned though you cannot see them.. put a first partition less than 1TB and see how it goes.
In finder.. don't forget ML has issues with network drive.. make sure you tick all the extras in finder preferences.. and if the drive won't mount try to do it manually.. go .. connect to server.
AFP://TCname or TCIPaddress.. where you use the actual name or IP.
Also is the power supply for the hub at least 2A preferably more.. so the hub is powered but the disk is not powered?? -
How to send a mail in html format from a send mail workflow node ?
Dear all,
Do you know if it is possible to send an e-mail in HTML format (instead of RAW) from a "send mail" node in a workflow ? ... if "yes", please, let me know.
(I need to do that because I want to use the "href" tag to insert an hyperlink inside the e-mail)
- I haven't found any parameter to specify the format of the e-mail.
- Inside SCOT I tried to change the parameters for the SMTP node... without success.
- I don't want to use a task calling the FM SO_OBJECT_SEND.
NicolasHi Nicolas!
Have you tried to set "Output Format" for "RAW Text" to HTM in SCOT.
If HTM is missing in your dropdown-list, you could check out table SXCONVERT2. Copy the line with category T/format TXT, and change the format from TXT to HTM. The existing function
SX_OBJECT_CONVERT__T.TXT does not need to be changed. Now you should be able to choose HTM in SCOT. You will probably need som HTML-tags in your text to make it look good.
Hope this helps!

iPad used to open iBooks purchased off iTunes no problems but since I took my iPad overseas on holiday it no longer opens iBooks - they appear to download ok but when I tap to open the book I get an error message saying the book isn't formatted correctly or is in a format that iBooks doesn't recognise. I have tried
- deleting and reloading iBooks
- making all updates have been done
- turning on and off airplane mode
And still have the problems
Did ask iTunes help but so far no joy - appreciate help pleaseOk, I got the 1.3/1.4 thing straight now. There was a java.exe in System32 that I now see the PATH was calling first.
And in the TextPad version of the problem, I was curious -- I don't remember setting the specification of the executable called by the Run Tool button, but I must have at some point. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and it created a default button that apparently points to what it's supposed to point to, since it now works and runs my program OK.
Still, I wonder how it can be that explicitly directing the button to C:\j2sdk1.4.0\bin\java.exe makes TextPad's Command Results Window say "NoClassDefFoundError"
I'm up and working now, but if anyone has a clue I can learn from on the TextPad issue, thanks -
How to configure a standard SmartForm to be sent by e-mail in PDF format
How to configure a standard SmartForm to be sent by e-mail in PDF format
We need to use standard SAP configuration to send e-mails (output type Medium = 5 External Send).
Currently we were able to send the forms on OTF format, not PDF.
Does anyone know how to automatically make the conversion from OTC to PDF without having to code anything on ABAP?Hello Luiz,
actually there are only a few steps to do:
Just call transaction SCOT and doubleclick your SMTP node. Click on the "set"-Button behind the supported address type "internet". Choose "PDF" as output format for SAPforms.
By the way. You can also generate a PDF-File from a Spool with report RSTXPDFT4.
I hope this will help you.

Applescript to create mail is not working correct in Lion
Hi all
When I run this applescript in Lion to send a mail with Apple Mail
tell application "Mail"
set theNewMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {subject:"Subject text", content:"Content text", visible:false}
tell theNewMessage
make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {address:"[email protected]"}
send
end tell
end tell
It send the mail just fine
Go to Mail and you see it in send items
Now try to close Mail with cmd q and you notice that the mail popup ready to send a second time.
If you hit the send button it will be mailed again and when you use cmd q now it will close Mail.
As far as I know this will not happen in Snow
If it is possible I like to know I I am correct that it is working OK in Snow and that Lion is the problem
Thanks for testing
Regards, Ron de BruinI think setting visible always to true will be the solution, but I can't test in Snow anymore.

Since installing Yosemite Mail will not work correctly.
The number of unread e-mails is not showing correctly on the inbox icon, and doesn't show on the dock icon. Although i have set it to "do not store deleted e-mails on the server" every time it connects to the server it displays the e-mails i have just deleted. It is that bad that i am now using Outlook as my Mail software. Are you able to go back to your previous Operating System, in my case Mavericks, it was far far better than Yosemite!!!
Thanking you in anticipation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox.

Hi everyone
I imported an RTF document and inlcuded it in my splash screen. I have some lingo that updated the ducumented when the EXE is ran:
on beginsprite me
member("Lawyer_bio").fileName = the moviePath & "Lawyer_bio.rtf"
member("Lawyer_bio").rtf = member("Lawyer_bio").rtf
end
For some reason, the bullet points on my document are not formating correctly. It works fine with some RTF documents, but with other it does the following:
See how only the first bullet if formating correctly, why are the other ones not? Like I said, it doesn't happen with all the RTF documents.
thank you for your time,
Rafa.Dear Rafa,
Please check to see that the sprite cast you were transferring into was not a accidentally a “field” cast member. Text and field objects have different properties and methods. Both sprites should be Text cast members. (I can visualize the problem you describe occurring if you were transferring into a Field Cast member from a Text cast member.)
Curious about how dynamic your application will be, Rafa.
I did not experience the same problem when attempting to duplicate the scenario you described.
Are the formatting errors introduced when you import the file? Or were they already there in the RTF document before you imported?
The way I would troubleshoot is to ‘put char()’ in the message window, from just before to just after the bullet, comparing that with another Text cast member that has properly formatted text, and discover the anomaly. It should then be easy to write a Lingo handler to detect anomalies and correct the formatting.
Here is the syntax for text cast members, illustrated. By creating two text cast members (“A” eh) on the stage, then go to the message window and try:
set T1 = the member of sprite 1
set T2 = the member of sprite 2
et T1.text ="Hello World"
set T2.text = T1.text
put char 1 of T2.text
put the text of member 1 of castlib 1 -- or use the name of the cast member …
likewise:
put char 2 of (member 2 of castlib 1).text
TEXT cast members are much improved over earlier versions of Director. You used to only be able to manipulate FIELD cast members with Lingo, and the limit to a field cast member was 32kb.
Adobe keeps on improving Director. I wonder if Adobe will revive the Shockwave player, or build Director Shockwave into Acrobat.
I’ve been out of the game for a long time. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

To send a html format mail you need to set the content type like this (msg is a javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage) :
String subject = "An Email 4 U";
String message = "<HTML><BODY>Here is a link<br><a href='http://javasoft.com'>Java</a></BODY></HTML>";
msg.setSubject(subject);
msg.setContent(message, "text/html");p.s This isn't really an advanced topic
