Is Mavericks free for any Apple ID user?

Hey guys,
I am going to sell my MacBook Pro to a friend as part of an upgrade and since OS X installations handle somehow the Apple ID in terms of a legal check I think (same as a receipt is stored in downloaded MAS apps) I wanted to reinstall the old OS X Snow Leopard which came with my Mac when I purchased it, so he can go forth an get Mavericks himself. As another friend of mine sold his MBP a few weeks ago the "customer" had problems downloading Mavericks on the fly (so as part of the installation process, e.g. when booting up an MBP in restore mode). So my question is: can said friend create an Apple ID, somehow obtain Mavericks in the MAS and use it as soon as he gets my MBP? So even via a wireless OS X download-installation? Or is Mavericks just included with new Macs? Anything to keep in mind?
A better solution to me would be to install a not-related-to-me Mavericks since I want to run a secure erase on the strorage, just in case. Any chance?

This is not possible... Any Download of Mavericks is forever tied to the Apple ID that downloads it... as with Any Apple Download / Purchase.
Restore the Mac you are selling to Factory Condition... Then the New Owner can Use their Apple ID to Purchase and /or Download Apple Software.

In our current practice Functional consultant is dealing with end user. He is taking requirement of new Report/Transaction access request & doing analysis. Then he is taking approval from BPO & based on BPO approval Functional consultant is providing training to end user. When end user is accepted requested report requirement in standard report or transaction data process then Functional consultant is sending request to Basis consultant along with authorization parameters like Role, Organization parameters, type of activity (create/change/display/delete) etc.
Our Basis consultant is not agreeing for this process & he want to directly deal with end user for all activities & he will take help of Functional consultant if required.
Sorry friends this is not technical discussion but it is create big dispute between our internal support team regarding who will be first point of contact for any authorization related issue?

User is the one who have the authority to decide, while BASIS should help User in understanding the technical knowledge of access authorization.

Presuming that the message is real, I tried to make changes detailed at  http://verizon.com/emailsettings to the configuration window of my Apple Mail account. . Apple Mail allows setting only one port (I presume for incoming mail) and allows setting SSL and authentication method for that port.
So there is no way to follow these instructions

Publish ical on internet for any apple or window users?

I would like to publish ical for my business. Therefore my clients can see what days I have available. I have tried ical exchange and am not able to get my friend to log onto it on their windows (mozilla) web browser. I have tried .web but run into the same problem. I do not want to use .mac if I have to because of the cost. I figure I have two options publish it to a site similar to ical exchange or publish directly to my website. I do not know how to either, any advice?

You can use the publish feature of iCal to publish your calendar to either a .Mac account or any other URL which is running WebDAV services (WebDAV is a mechanism to allow file transfers over FTP - supported by Apache and many fine web server software).
If your web site is not running WebDAV see if your system administrator can set that up for you.

For what its worth, I pay the $99 for .Mac and between the backup software and synchronizing my machines I think its worth it. The .Mac hosting and Email is just a bonus.

OIM: email notification for any updates to user

We have a database connector
Based on the user role we will provision read and update access
There are two access policies one for read and other for update.
Lookup table has two values
Read Read
Update Update
Access policy triggers based on the lookup table value.
For create user and revoke user there are e-mail notifications set.
What we are experiencing is when a user having read access is given get update access tommorrow, this user is moved from read group. And then access policy triggers, the read gets revoked then e-mail notification is sent saying user account is revoked. When added to updated group access policy triggers and create's account and e-mail notification is sent.
But here, We want to send only one e-mail saying there is an update to the user.
Any ideas, please let me know.

Just uncheck the Revoke No Longer Applies check box from the access policy.
What is happening when user remove from the Read access then as per the check box checked in access policy revoke the user account from DB and as he moved to Update access group his account getting created newly in DB.
Just uncheck the check box this prob will be solved.

iphoto doesnt work in any situation. I have tried via itunes and directly via iphoto.
Above what you see is the error report that is generated when an app crashes. I am hoping an advanced user will see this report and be able to assist me. I think its shameful that when I want to import my photos I have to so it on my PC.

Cannot complete Installs for any Apple software! Stall, Stall, Stall...

Can anyone help me...
I've tried to download iTunes 10 but the download stalls at 10% (approx. 7.5mb),also Quicktime stalls too at around 50%, Safari stalls at about 60%...
No error messages, no info, they all just stall Everytime!
I've deleted iTunes 9 and all associated files, I run AVG 2011 Free edition, turned that off too, turned off firewall, pop-up blocker but Nothing!
Everytime it just stalls at exactly the same point...

I understand, other downloads work OK. Are they as big a download as the itunes setup file which is 71MB? Network speed isn't the issue here, some routers seem to be blocking large downloads. HAve your windows updates been downloading OK? My suggestion was to take the router out of the mix.

I was trying to download an update yesterday and was receiving an error as well. It turned out to be that the Adobe Application Manager needed to be updated first. Of course, it took a while before I came across this. Once I downloaded that, the update worked fine.
This shouldn't be the case if you download it directly but it could definitely be the issue if you are doing it from the help menu. FYI...I downloaded the Captivate update a while back without issue.

Device Central won't work for any Apple devices

I know I probably have a setting wrong somewhere, but I've Googled this to no avail.
I have a flash file and I'm trying to view it in the iPad emulator in Device Central. I have it as a project, Flash Player 10 & 10.1, ActionScript 3.0, but when I click Control -> Test Movie -> In Device Central, and choose iPad, iPhone 3GS, or iPhone 4 profiles created by Adobe, it says that "The file type is not supported on this device!"
I'm sure I'm exporting it wrong or something but I can't figure out what settings I'm supposed to be using. What am I doing wrong?

That is because the devices you mentioned do not support Flash and also have not been profiled to support Flash emulation.

Mavericks Caching server 2 for all Apple IDs?

At Mavericks server 10.9.1, does caching server 2 on Mavericks server caches for any Apple ID that is ont the local network?

The application and the authorization are independent. The app/book are just data. When the first system requests it, the file is transferred to the caching server and held there as it is passed to the client that requested it. iTunes, Appstore, or the iOS device will then talk to the authorization server and assign the asset to the users account. When the next user requests the same file, it can now be vended from the caching server but authorization is handled by Apple's servers. So there is still an outbound request but this is trivial compared to the size of the payload.
One to of the best ways to see this in action is with a large OS update. Update one device. Then when complete, review your caching server to see that the data is there. Then update another system. It downloads in a blink of the eye.

All SCOM 2012 R2 dashboards are blank on Windows 7 for any user

All SCOM dashboards are showing up completely blank on several (but not all) Windows 7 machines and a 2008 R2 server (with RDS)...for any type of user. It's not a permissions issue as the same user can RDP to the SCOM Mgt server and view the dashboards just
fine. It seems to be some underying pre-requisite that isn't there, or isn't working. We've installed the pre-reqs (reportviewer, SQLSsyClrtypes, etc) to no avail. I've also tried doing a "repair" on .Net, and rebooted as described in another thread,
but that didn't work. I'm guessing it's something baked into our desktop images, but what am I missing

...also, we're seeing this event in the application log when the console is opened on an affected machine (but, not necessarily when opening the dashboard)...so, not sure it's 100% relevant.

Upgrade to mavericks from 10.6, apple id lost

I've installed a time machine recovery on a new hard drive to upgrade to mavericks, and have the older disc at hand with a full functioning leopard, so i can switch back to leopard instantly if things don't work out.
Now i'm trying to upgrade to mavericks on the new harddrive, i need to log in with my apple id. I have 3 macbooks, 2 iphones and 2 tablets from apple and really don't remember which apple-id matches which device. So i got 2 questions:
-If i upgrade with an apple id that is different from the one i installed my previous 10.6 os with, will i get in to trouble later on? I've got lots of plugins and software that i bought. I really don't want to get in to painful user license issues.
- What can i do in order to find out which apple id matches my mac pro leopard?
- Is it necessary that apple id\s match? Or can i just install mavericks with a new apple id

You may "purchase" (or in the case of Mavericks, obtain for free) using ANY Apple-ID you want to use.
There is no requirement that you use a specific Apple-ID for any particular purchase, and 10.6 does not appear to customize your computer with an Apple-ID in any meaningful way.
For consistency, you may WISH to use the same Apple-ID for all computer System Purchases in your Household because:
When you go to download again through the Mac App Store, say, for a different computer, the same Apple-ID that made the purchase must be supplied to download a new copy for a different computer.
When you Install a downloaded version of Mac OS X, such as 10.9 Mavericks, the download image you receive will not be a universal version -- it will be customized to the Apple-ID supplied when you bought it. If you damage it and need to download it again through the Mac App Store, the Apple-ID AND Password may need to be supplied.
