IS metadata integrator for BI Platform
We have IS 4.2 SP2 environment. I am trying to add metadata integrator for BI Platform in CMC. I could able to add the integrator in CMC. But when i try to schedule it, it is failing. Looked at the log,
Unable to read Remote Job Server configuration. This integrator source requires the Remote Job Server. Ensure that the Remote Job Server is configured properly. Error: Remote service is not configured for REMOTE_140. (RSM-10002) (RSM-10006)
[E] 2014-06-15 21:19:25.027 [CMSMetadataIntegrator][main] com.bobj.mm.remoteservice.integrator.client.RemoteJobServerConfigurationException: Unable to read Remote Job Server configuration. This integrator source requires the Remote Job Server. Ensure that the Remote Job Server is configured properly. Error: Remote service is not configured for REMOTE_140. (RSM-10002) (RSM-10006).
BI Platform i am trying to add is BI 4.0 SP5.
I followed the steps mentioned in KB article 1906580.
But when try to specify the Oracle JDBC driver path, after running the Installlremoteservices.bat, i am getting error like "Access denied". Any clues?
I ran the cmd with admin privilages. Found the cause of the issue. I need to specify the path of the Oracle jar file. I did , but i got a different error.

Export Metadata for Deski Report failed with Metadata Integrator
Hi everybody,
We installed 2 weeks ago BusinessObject Data Integrator 3.0. As we also have BusinessObject XI 3.0, we have installed the component Metadata Integrator on our BOXI 3.0 server. We configured it successfully and the Metadata Integrator program was added to our BOXI repository.
Then, we executed the Metadata Integrator program from the CMC console. The job run successfully but when we looked at the log file we realized that the program was not able to create the metadata for the BO Deski reports in our BODI repository whereas it was able to do it for our BO Universes. Then when we access the Impact and Lineage Analysis tool from the BODI management console, we can only see the metadata for our BO Universes but not for our Deski reports !!
Start universe collection: 1 universes to process.
Universe collection progress: 1 of 1 completed
Desktop Intelligence document collector thread started.

Any ideas ?!Helo,
The "Member/Alias" problem is solved by using the command "REPALIASMBR" and the "parent/child" is solved in two steps:
1 - Use the command "INDENTGEN" to indent on your flat file
2 - Run an custom script (in my case PERL) on your file to transform that "indent" into parent child (the member indented is the parent of the previous ones)
Another solution is to use "OlapUnderground Outline Extractor" that do all that work for you.

hope that helps.

Issue in configure Information Steward 4.1 Metadata integrator with BO 4.1
Hi Experts,
Environment
Machine 1 :BO 4.1
Machine 2: IPS 4.1,DS 4.2,IS 4.2
We need to get the BO 4.1 metadata into information steward .As per IS install guide "If machine 1 has BI platform 4.1 SP1 and machine 2 has Information Steward installed on IPS 4.1, then you do not need to install the Remote Job Service utility. IPS 4.1 SP1 can collect metadata directly from a BI platform 4.1 system because the BI SDK is compatible between IPS 4.1 SP1 and BI platform 4.1 SP1.3"
what else we need to configure ?
Do we need to install 4.1 client in IS installed machine?
I'm getting below error when trying to add integrator
CMS Server name : BO 4.1 cms name , user name&PWD : BO 4.1 user and pwd
Infoview Integration user:BO 4.1 user&Pwd
Thanks in advance for help.Hi Satish,
You must install the BI Client tools in IPS server (make sure that BI Platform in Machine 1 and BI Client Tools in Machine 2 must be of same version including support pack). Then before creating metadata integrator connection in IPS, try to connect BI server in Machine 1 from Client tools in Machine 2. For this you can use, UDT / IDT / WebI Rich Cleint to test whether Machine 2 is able to connect Machine 1 or not. If you failed at this level, then there problem with Firewall or port issue. We have to fix this before moving ahead.
If above test is passed, then go to IPS - CMC, check whether ISJobServer service is available, enabled and running. Disable this service and check what services are included under this. Check all the services related to IS is included or not. If not include all services, enable and restart the server.
Then you create the BOE Integrator source connection.

Installing Metadata Integrator alone??
Hi,
I want to know if it is possible to install Metadata Integrator in a Windows machine alone if my Data Services XI 3.2 and Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 are install in other server on Unix Platform. My question is because Metadata Integrator can´t be install on Unix Platform and I need to make some Lineage and Impact analysis between these systems. If not, the only workaround that I have is to install Business Objects Metadata Management (this product can be install on Unix)in the same server to do this analysis???Pagemakers wrote:

This is the point I don't understand. How do you know you
have no
interest in them if you have never tried them? If Dreamweaver
had
integrated the ability to preview sites on mobile devices as
a core part
of the program, I imagine that many people would have said
"how cool".
Because Device Central is shared with Photoshop, Illustrator,
and Flash,
the reaction is "not interested".

There's no argument that the installer should let you pick
and choose.

what I have seen

I have no idea what Adobe's plans are, but I would be very
surprised if
the policy is changed before the release of the next version.
As for
there being little difference between DW8 and CS3, I don't
agree. The
improvements in CSS rendering and CSS management are far from
insignificant. If you use client-side validation, the Spry
validation
widgets are stunning.

BOE Metadata Integrator not collecting metadata from specified folder
Dear All,
I’m trying to schedule BOE metadata integrator job to collect metadata from BI4.0 SP4 server.
In the parameters I have specified the sub folder name called Audit Reports. The job completed in 5 minutes but did not collect any metadata from this folder.
There are 10 webi reports in this folder from two different universes.
This is the folder hierarchy on BI platform.
_HRM Audit/Audit 2013/Audit Reports
Software Version
IS 4.0 SP4 and IPS 4.0 SP3 on Windows 2008 server.
Is this a bug or I have to specify the public folder name differently?
Can someone please advise?
Many thanks,Hi BODS,
Take a look at the log that has been created for the integrator run. It should give you an idea of whats going on. Look for [W] and [E] in the logs. Maybe you could post them here or attach the log.
Thanks,

BOE XI 3.1 - Metadata Integrator - DataServices 12.0 - Impact/Lineage
I am having issues with getting impact and lineage to work. I have the following installed:
- BOE XI 3.1
- DataServices 12.0
- Metadata Integrator as part of the same DataServices installation
Everything is installed and working well...independently. Once I found the new way to secure program object execution, I was able to get the Metadata Integrator program under the \DataServices directory in the CMC to execute successfully. I then go into the Data Services Management Console and expect to see Impact/Lineage. However, there is nothing there to choose.
I have DI Designer set to save column mappings when saving the dataflow, and I have run that program mentioned above. When I go into the Settings hyperlink of the Impact/Lineage section of the console, there is not a Repository in the dropdown list for Settings. There also isn't a Job Server in the dropdownlist for "Refresh Usage Data" even though I have a working/running DI Job Server. FYI, I am running IE7.
Finally, I went ahead and tried to create a Business Objects Connection. I get the error message:
Business Objects repository tables do not exist in this database.
That seems to be a big red flag since I am accessing BOBJ tables in that exact database to have the CMC/Infoview work successfully.
Am I dealing with a version problem between products, or am I still missing a fundamental step to get this to work correctly? Are there issues with IE7? The Administration portion of the Data Services Management Console seems to work just fine. FYI, I was able to create a CMS connection there, also.
Thanks for the help,
Brianyou don't see the lineage for BO since its not collected the cmsCollector is failing
you don't have to upgrade all DS component, you can use the DS 12.1.1.0 Metadata Integrator component only, this is an Independent component and is dependent more on BOE than DS
is all DS component Installed on same machine ? in that case you will have to install the Metadata Integrator Component on different machine and copy the %LINK_DIR%/ext/cmsCollector folder to your current installation (rename the current cmsCollector folder to cmsCollector120) and run the following script to setup the env and path for Metadata Integrator
if this doesn't work remove this folder and restore the old cmsCollector folder back, everything should be same as earlier
do this if you are comfortable with doing manual setups
put the following in a cmd file named setupMI.cmd, in the %LINK_DIR%/ext/cmsCollector folder
and run the cmd file from th ecommand line, only thing that you will have to set if different in the script is BOE_SDK path
set local
set BOE_SDK=C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4.0\java\lib
set INSTALL_DIR=%LINK_DIR%
set JAVA_HOME=%LINK_DIR%\ext\jre
rem following is complete single line
"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java.exe" -classpath "%INSTALL_DIR%\lib\loader.jar;%INSTALL_DIR%\ext\cmsCollector\lib\cms_md_collector.jar" -Djava.system.class.loader=com.bobj.ConfigurableClassLoader -Dclassloader.properties="%INSTALL_DIR%\ext\cmsCollector\classloader.properties" -Dink_dir="%INSTALL_DIR%" -Dboe_dir="%BOE_SDK%" com.acta.crystalrepo.config.crConfigureCommands "%INSTALL_DIR%\ext\cmsCollector\/" "%BOE_SDK%\/" "%INSTALL_DIR%\/" -

Hi Folks -
I am getting the below error when I try to run the HcmCompWorkbenchWorkarea.jspx in the Fusion COmpensation Module, locally from the JDeveloper Customization Role.
I simply created a FUsion Customization APplication with a Customization,Model and View COntroller Projects without doing any customizations and was just trying to run the above page.
I have never encountered this type of error before. Any help would be helpful.

But the issue that I am facing now is on this page there is a Manager Search, wherein I can proxy a manager.
This Search popup is not returning any values. Previously if I reinstalled my system-jazn-data.xml file from my colleauge
and rebooting my laptop worked. But now even that doe snot help.

The issue was occurring because generic-site-resources.xml file was not getting packaged with default Autogenerated MAR file.
We had to manually copy siteresources folder insite Portal->adfmsrc->siteresources. siteresources folder contains the generic-site-resources.xml file. Once we placed the file there and created ear, we found an entry of generic-site-resources.xml inside the MAR.
You can query MDS database to see if there is an entry for this file: select * from mds_paths where path_name like '%generic%';
If this table does not have and entry you will see this MDS error. -

Mod_weblogic.c Apache DSO for other platforms
With release 5.1 of Weblogic Server, a DSO file was provided
for solaris/Apache to perform strong integration.
I was wondering if:
a)It was possible to get that DSO built for other platforms -- in our case
AIX
b)If licensed users of Weblogic Server could get the source code for that
module
so that they can build it in as required.
The reasoning for a is simple enough -- not everyone who uses Apache also
uses Solaris.
As for b, Apache's rapid release schedule means that security concerns are
dealt with very quickly,
and new releases may need to be installed. If the source code was
available, security concious web
masters would be able to rebuild their server quickly and not have to beg
and plead for an updated
build from Bea.
Integration with Apache and AIX is going to be a strong decision factor, as
we would prefer to keep the application server or server cluster only
indirectly connected to the outside world.
Failing that, does anyone have other solutions for connecting Apache to
Weblogic seemlessly?

Metadata integrator-configuration problem
hi..
i'm just exploring the meta data integrator. when i configure the cms with my login and the DI repo with the local repository. it says success. but when i run the job it says the following error..
[CrystalCrawlerMain]configuration <config_new> not valid
CMS Integrator failed: configuration <config_new> not valid
when i test it. it is successfull and the job is also successful.
help me in this pls
vigiSergey, many thanks for your help. I am still having some problems however.
For Data Services (BO XI3), I had to change the cmdConfig.cmd file and
set CE_JARS_DIR=E:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4\java\lib. I also had to copy the load.jar to this directory.
I was then able to successfully run the setup which created the folder in the CMC.
When I run the metadata integrator program in the CMC, it runs through successfully. However when i look at the impact and lineage in the DI Mgmt console, I am not seeing any information on objects in my BO repository.
Not sure if I'm missing a step..any help would be appreciated
thanks -
Metadata Integrator not displayin cms details
Hi,
I can successfully access Impact And Lineage from the DI Management Console, but all I can see on the left hand side pane are the repository and the datastores. CMS information is not being displayed.
Nothing at all is displayed in the right hand side pane when clicking/hovering over any of the present objects in the left hand side pane.
Installed are:
DI 11.7
BOE 11.5
CMS and DI are installed on the same server and I can successfully configure Metadata Integrator by running the tool which creates the appropriate folder in the CMC. The collector runs successfully as well.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards,
RegineMetadata Integrator can't run on BOE CMS, Program JobServer running on Unix/Linux
you will have to configure the BOE CMS and Program Job Server on windows on the same machine where DI Metadata Integrator is installed
The cmsCollector application is dependent on DeskI and Universe COM Interface which is not available on UNIX, hence the limitation
its not documented in 11.7, if you have access to following link, then you can check for steps in Data Services Documentation
