" is missing - FCP can't see file name to reconnect it

I have moved a large amount of files assuming I could easily reconnect using media manager. It now says " is missing and seems unable to see that I have 100s of named files to import. The only solution I have is going through each file one by one and manually locating it.
Anyone know this issue and a fix?!

Yes, do a search in this forum and you will find a few threads about it.
As far as I know there's no solution yet.
Can you give us more detail about your setup (version FCP etc) and the kind of Files you are using? (XDCam, DV, Prores, etc)
Maybe we can find a common denominator which causes this problem.
It also might be helpfull if you exactly did with those files.
for exemple: Was FCP running while you moved them?
Was the disk disconnected while you opened this project? etc
Please be accurate.

You might want to make sure your credit card is listed in the billing information associated with your Apple ID (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1918).
Also, to change the From name that appears when you address emails on and iOS device, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your iCloud email account, tap you iCloud account at the top, tap Mail at the bottom, then enter the name you want to use in the Name field at the top.
To change the From name on your Mac Mail, go to icloud.com, sign into your account, open Mail, click the gear shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, go to the Accounts tab and enter the name you want to use in the Full Name field and click Done. Then quit Mail on your Mac and re-open it. Your new From name should now appear in the drop-down list when you compose a new email.

How can I hide file names in a photostream?

How can I hide file names in a shared photo stream on icloud. I don't want people to see how many pictures I take at an event. Can this be done to pictures already posted?

The Shared Photo Stream uses the filename of the original image file as the title that is shown in the stream. If you want to hide the original filename, export the image to a folder in the Finder, rename it, then reimport it to share it. You can rename the files directly when exporting.
Or, if you do not mind to change the names of the originals in Aperture use the command "Metadata > Batch change" and change the title of the image, with the option "Apply to Original file" enabled and "Add metadata from" set to "None".
To rename the photos already shared, delete them from the Shared Album and share them again.

How can i see clip name?

i can only see the length of a clip. can i see the name of the clip file as well?

Right-click (or Control-click) on the clip and select Reveal in Finder from the pop-up menu. That will take you to the source clip in the Event in Finder, where details of the clip (including the name) will be shown.

Can't see files that are backedup

I have a G4 iMac that has both an internal (small) and external (large) drive that I use for data. I am using a time capsule to backup the whole system.
When I run Time Machine it appears to backup both disks, the log file shows both drives having many GBs of data being transferred without any errors.
However, when I go into the TM application, I can only see files that are on the internal drive. I can only see my external 'LaCie HFS' in the Now view, going back in time that drive is greyed out.
If I use the finder when the TC is mounted, I can traverse into 'Backup.backupdb/iMac/2009-08-074700' and I can see the 'LaCie HFS' folder and in it are all my backed up files.
I have looked through the FAQ and various postings but cannot find an answer.
The closest thing that I can see as being a potential problem is that my old internal drive uses an Apple Partition Map while my new external drive uses a GUID Partition Table.

Try this: Open a Finder window and press ShiftCmdC (or select your computer name in the Finder Sidebar).
Then +Enter Time Machine.+
On the first Finder window in the "cascade," labelled Now, you'll see all the volumes currently attached to your Mac.
Select the Finder window for any backup, and you'll see a folder for each drive/volume that was backed-up, including any that are no longer connected. Navigate from there to whatever you're looking for.

Can't see app names in folders

I've recently upgraded my z to lollipop and it's been great ever since, but I've noticed some minor bugs. First of all i can't see app names when they're organized in folders, maybe i'm missing some settings but i think it's a bug. Secondly i find Google bar in multitasking very annoying, is there a way to disable it? Btw great work Sony, new OS runs fast and smooth on my "old" device! Keep it up!

After a few days post upgrade on my ZR C5503 the largest issues I have found are:Low volume for headset speaker, can barely hear anyone when using the phone unless I am using ear buds or BT headphonesBattery drain is insane! If the AirPort Express is extending your network it is using the same wireless network name as your "main" router.
Your main router and the Express act like one "big" network now.
Your computer will connect to either the main router or the Express automatically....depending on where it sees the best signal.

Sorry, I was confused. Actually I see in the laptop Internal Storage and SD card. I thought that what I was seeing was the phone memory and the phone's internal storage memory. I thought I had to see three folders. Now I know that the phone memory is not seen in the laptop.
It also confuses me that in Astro File are the following memories with different names: ext_card, sdcard, sdcard1, sdcard0. I have come to the conclusion that ext_card= sdcard1(external memory) and sdcard=sdcard0 (internal memory), but I don't know because in Astro these memories have these names, and are repeated.

How can I retrieve file name being processed in Batch

I want to retrieve the current filename that is being processed by a batch, e.g. A1~Texas~Actual~Jan-2010~RR.txt
I can do this in various event scripts that have the strFile parameter but I need to do it in the BatchAction event script and cannot see how I go about it. I can see various objects in the API guide that should help me get at it but can't get it working.
Has anyone done this before or got any pointers for how I can do this?

I have been able to retrieve this using the PstrFileName property in various event scripts, particularly those where strFile is a parameter and then used API.DataWindow.Utilities.fParsePath to trim that and provide just the file name. However thsi does not work in the BatchAction event script.
I have found a property in the Batch Loader section of the supplementary API called PstrFileTitle but my VB is not strong enough to work out how to get at it. From what I can gather I would need to supply the BatchID (plus other parameters) to another function that would return this into a recordset and then read from the recordset (??) but I am not sure how to go about this.
To give you some background, what I am trying to achieve is writing to a log file pre and during batch processing where the log file name should use the source file's name, e.g. 'SourceFile.txt' will write to SourceFile.log. The issue is that for batch processing we have to rename 'SourceFile.txt' s 'A1~Texas~Actual~Jan-2010~RR.txt' and I previously tried to use the PvarTempNC variables to store the source file name only to find that I could use that in the BatchAction event script!
If you can point me in the right direction that would be great.

on remote server... It's even got my host stumped. I have a fairly
large static site which I CAN SEE files via my host's "File
Manager" 90 Folders 3090 Files 52,336.74KB
But I cannot see files and folders when connected FTP via
IPSwitch or Dreamweaver 8.
I have followed IPSwitch's troubleshooting steps for this
issue, with no resolve. Emailed them a week ago, still no reply.
I have other sites at the same host (sub-domains of the site
I cannot see), and thoise subdomain sites files and folders show up
fine. With the primary site, even though I cannot "see" the files
and folders, I can still ftp to and from the server (get & put)
from DW or IPSwitch...

No... I am looking at the correct folders, etc. The host is a
commercial host for Fortune 500's, I fairly confident in their
abilities. They think it might have something to do with long file
names. There is one clue, in that at one time I could view the
files and folders. Since that time it is possible I added a page
with a file name that is too long and is causing the issue. I will
probbaly need to temporarily delete these long file name pages to
see if it's the issue or not. I just thought someone here may have
experienced this. Not being able to view files and folders (even
though you can connect and transfer okay) is a pretty common
troubleshooting topic at the FTP software companies.

Elements Editor not working and can't see files on IPAD

Aftr fooling around for the past 4 days trying to get picture int Adobe Revel, I pretty much gave up. All I want to do now is use PSE Editor and edit some pics. I can't get it to come up. Only the Organizer seems to work/ Any ideas?

OK,great! Lets work on the iPad now. What happens when you open Revel on th ipad and you log in? Have you tried logging out and back in or reinstalling and logging in?
What do you see? Can you see your libraries? Can you see your albums? Can you see photos?
Did you already have a Revel account when your files were migrated? If you did not, then the photos would move to <YOUR FIRST NAME HERE>'s library. IF you already had an account with an existing library and photos, then migrated files would be moved to a library named "Photoshop.com library". To change libraries on the iPad, go into Settings, if on iOS or Mac.

Can't see files after restore

Hi,
I have just bought a new MB Pro 13", and did a restore from Time Machine, with a backup from my old MB Pro 17". However, when I go to view documents, music, photos, etc. I can't find any of them (not in the usual locations). The apps are all there, and I am sure the files are there somewhere, as the HD is showing 170GB of usage, which would be music and photos/videos. I have used spotlight to search for file names, and used Get Info for the folders under the HD, but to no avail. Can anyone provide assistance?

I know this sounds nit-picky, but if you created a new account, that was after the chance to use +Setup Assistant.+ That means you must have used the similar +Migration Assistant+ and have (at least) two user accounts.
Here's what I mean: when your Mac first started up, after the Welcome video and selecting your language, this window appears:

If you select any of the first three options, you don't create a new account; they're transferred from the other Mac or backups. If you select the last one, you do set up a new account. Then, as it says, you can use the +Migration Assistant+ app to do the same thing, but it can't transfer anything to the account that's logged-on. If you try to, you'll get this window:

Have you done any backups of the new Mac? If not, your best bet may be to use the +*Browse . . .+* option of the "Star Wars" display to confirm what's on your last backup of the old one. See #17 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum). Make sure the files in question are there.
If everything seems to be ok, create a temporary Admin account, with a name different from any on your backups. Log on to that account and delete all the other accounts and their home folders, via +System Preferences > Accounts.+ Then use +Migration Assistant+ to migrate all the accounts from your backups. If not, post back with the results and we'll try something else.

Can't see files on one computer

This isn't a linksys issue, but likley one with my old computer.
On my new one, connected to a WRT54GC I'm running XP Home, I can see the old computer, but can't access it. On the old one, also running XP home and connected with a wireless linksys USB adapter, I can see the new computer and can access the files I have set to share.
I have run the wizard on the old one several (I mean SEVERAL) times. I still had to manually set up files for sharing, and I see the little hand under the folders I want to share, but I can't see them on the new computer. The old computer has the XP firewall turned off.
I see everything I need from the new on the old computer, can print on the printer connected to the new computer, but can't see the old computer in 'my network places'. The EasyLink adviser sees the old computer.
When I view workgroup computers on the new one, and click on the icon for the old computer, I get a message that I might not have permission, but as far as I can tell, permission is set on the old one.
Is there something I'm missing to give the new computer permission to access the old one?

I'm having this exact issue.
I have WRT54GC as well.
Two old desktop computers (win XP Home) are running on a wired connection, one (new) wireless laptop (win XP Media). All are connected to internet no problem, but none can see each other. I have run the network setup wizard several times on both desktops. It seems successful, but then I cannot view workgroup computers and I cannot print to network printers. "Improper permissions."
What is going on here and how can i fix it?

Cifs - need to connect to share server (can see folders but can't see files)

This is driving me nuts...
CASE ONE:
before the upgrade, i could view folders and files on the shareserver (at a company). but after the upgrade, things went downhill...
we can no longer use "smb://ServerName" so we are forced to use "cifs://ServerName". Fine, fine. but i can only see folders...not files.
ive looked everywhere on the internets for a solution but find nerdy, tech lingo. I found only one that had the solution, but they simply said "nevermind, i found the solution...".. jesh,,, at least leave a solution for us....
does someone have a work-around or a solution to this bug?

Dealing with Outlook 2011 and sharing caledars using the Exchange, i can see my co-workers email and statuses...but i can no longer see their schedules/availability.
