Is mountain lion compatible

Is iDvd compatible with Mountain Lion?

It's compatible with Lion, so it most likely is compatible with Mountain Lion.

VMware and Toaster can be upgraded to versions that will run on Mountain Lion.
I was not able to find anything on PalmPilot for Mountain Lion. Of course seeing as how it is at least 15 years old that doesn't surprise me.
As I see you want to run two operating systems which means rebooting to use them just for PalmPilot. IMHO that is a lot of effort on your part for a very small gain.

    Thank you in advance,

I have used that one and it works.
Here is a similar model that I still use and it works as well:
    http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtSeriesID=782&txtModelID=3915
That one has two RS-422 ports.
Their drivers for Mountain Lion work perfectly, as do the earlier ones for PPC Macs. I have used it with every OS X version since Jaguar.
It does install a kernel extension but as far as I have been able to tell, it is well-behaved and I have experienced no conflicts. The .kext is not active unless the adapter is actually connected.
Follow the driver installation instructions carefully - the adapter must be disconnected while installing the driver or the installer package will crash. The package installer dialog tells you this.
Here is a summary from my notes:
Disconnect the Keyspan adapter from your Mac. If you do not disconnect the adapter, the installer package will crash.
Open the downloaded zipfile to expand the keyspanUSAdrvr installer package.
Read the "Important Information", authenticate when necessary, and complete the installation. The Keyspan driver is a kernel extension necessary for the Keyspan adapter to work.
Connect the Keyspan adapter after the installer completes.
An alert may appear indicating that "new network interfaces were detected" and need to be configured. You may ignore this alert, and you may delete the three Keyspan network interfaces that will now appear in System Preferences > Network. OS X seems to think these are dialup modem drivers. They are not used for printing. The alert will not reappear.
A logout / login or reboot should be optional to ensure the driver is loaded. If in doubt, reboot.
With the adapter connected and its driver correctly installed, the kernel extension will now appear in System Information as KeyspanUSAdriver.
In Applications, locate and open Keyspan Serial Assistant. When the adapter has been connected its serial port names will appear in this window. Clicking the reveal triangle will show their names.
KeySerial1 is an alias to the first port on the first Keyspan adapter connected to your Mac. The names USA28XxxxxP1.1 and USA28XxxxxP2.2 will change if the adapter is connected to a different USB port. Connect your serial device to Port 1 on the adapter, and use KeySerial1 for the serial port name. Otherwise it will be necessary to change the name of your serial port every time you change which USB port the Keyspan is using.
Leave Keyspan Serial Assistant in your Applications folder since you may need it to refer to these names in the future.
To uninstall the Keyspan driver software, open Keyspan Serial Assistant, select "Uninstall USB Serial Extension" from the Settings menu, and follow the instructions. Administrator authentication is required to uninstall the driver. The extension will then be eradicated from your system. The only remaining files are the Keyspan Serial Assistant application, the installer package, and the downloaded zipfile. To completely delete everything drag all these files to the Trash.
Keyspan had previously labeled their OS X 10.8 driver a "beta" version, which worked fine. They since dropped the "beta" label. Hopefully this indicates they are interested in continued support. In any event I doubt any updates would be required for future OS X versions any time soon, since it is already a 64 bit driver.

  • Is osx mountain lion compatible with mac pro (4,1) w/ raid card?

I noticed Apple isn't selling the Mac Pro's with raid cards anymore, so it makes me wonder of Mountain Lion is compatible with my Mac Pro which uses the apple mac pro raid card.  Anyone know??

Thanks Kappy.  I'm more interested in the RAID card compatibility.  Anyone else know?

I currently have Mac OS X. 6 snow leopard and want to upgrade to the latest version of Lion.  But I use Parallels desktop 5 for Mac.  Will this be compatible?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Only Parallels Desktop 7 and newer are supported on OS X Mountain Lion. Update Parallels Desktop before upgrading to Mountain Lion. Make a backup of your data with Time Machine and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

  • Download to make Mountain Lion compatible with Canon iX 6520

Would like Canon webpage when I can make my Canon iX6520 printer compatible with my Macbook Pro OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 operating system.

    Hi,
I downloaded the driver from http://www.canon.ca/inetCA/serviceDetail?m=load&id=3&sid=15&mid=2200841&type=S
Anything else you need should be at the Canon site also. After I did the install, I did the head alignment fron the apple preferences menu. I've printed several photos and they look fine.

  • Is mountain lion compatible with quickbooks online?

I use QuickBooks online and have not been able to get it to work since I upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I can log in, but none of the dropdown menus work.  When I try to post a check or payment none of my vendor information populates and none of my account assignments will populate.  Help!!!

Thanks. So you're saying I can still use the hard drive I bought, just don't use the automatic software that came with it?! Here's what I found in the user's manual:
To use the drive with Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard operating systems, and to use Time Machine, if you want, you must first:
    •          Reformat the drive to a single HFS+J partition •          Restore the WD SmartWare software and disk image
....but still not sure if it will be compatible with Mountain Lion once I upgrade....I guess I have to wait and see?!

  • Is Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 Mountain Lion Compatible?

Is Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 software compatible with Mountain Lion?
My son saved money for a long time and finally last week had enought to buy NXT.
I'd like to upgrade my Lion to Mountain Lion but since this NXT is the most important thing in house at the moment I don't want to ruin the experience with uncompatible OS.

I spoke at length with someone at Lego Mindstorms support. Unfortunately I didn't think to get his name.
He indicated that its a known crash with the NXT software and Mountain Lion bluetooth. However, he was unable to give me any encouragement regarding when it would get fixed. In particular, he indicated there is also a known issue communicating using broadcom bluetooth chipset which is used in Macs for the last several years. He said the NXT software has been broken talking to broadcom devices since 2007. Five years and no fix.
He indicated the software is a version of Labview written by National Instruments.
I've checked my systems. My 2012 Macbook Air and 2011 Mini use broadcom chips, while my 2007 white macbook has "cambridge silicon radio". I am able to communicate using my 2007 white macbook running snow leopard.
Overall I can't say I'm happy with Lego's response. It essentially sounds like their software has been broken for years and they haven't bothered to fix it. I'm personally in a bind since the system we had envisioned using for first lego league isn't practical to use without bluetooth. I realize bluetooth can't be used in competition.
It doesn't seem the Lego supports their NXT software well nor the Mac platform.

  • Is mountain lion compatible with old (2004) version of microsoft office for MAc?

I have heard that Mountain Lion is not compatible with old (2004) version of microsoft office for MAc. Is that true?

... unless, like me, you open up an uber-important Excel 2004 file in Excel 2011 and get the following dialog box which leads to a trashed Chart, which I need access to EVERY WEEK:
Can't say I've ever seen such error messages, and I've opened lots of files created back in OS 8. Also many more much older than that from Windows 95 and even MS-DOS.
Lucky for you; unlucky for me that an important Excel 2004 Chart gets corrupted when opened in Excel 2011!
I suspect the problem is in the conversion routine that Microsoft added to Office 2011 to update Excel 2004 files.  How conversant are you historically with converting Excel 2004 files that contain charts to Excel 2011?  Because your experience with OS 8, Windows 95 and even MS-DOS has no relevance on this issue.
    Kurt Lang wrote:
You will notice, Kurt, that I based my advice to the OP as "if you are unable or unwilling to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2011..."
Yes, I saw it. But if everyone did what you would expect with your statement, no one would suggest upgrading to Office 2011. Besides, you're the one who stated "unable or unwilling", not the OP.
Are you always this argumentative, or is this my lucky day?
Many people suggest upgrading to Office 2011. I do it frequently in my other "workarounds" type of answers to the Rosetta in Lion/Mountain problem.  I chose not to offer that solution here, and as I expected, someone else, namely you, did!
The problem was that you finished your suggestion with this comment: "Particularly when it isn't really necessary."  Since this statement was not true in my case (it IS necessary for me to continue to use my important Excel 2004 file as well as some other historical files I have; and conceivably could be important to the OP), I posted the correction.
You also made the suggestion that: "...the cost of VM software isn't that much less than just upgrading to Office 2011." While certainly true in the vacuum of the OP asking specifically about Word 2004; when the OP becomes aware that his complete library of PPC applications will fail in Mountain Lion, your suggestion about the relative cost to upgrade may no longer be as relevant.
Lastly: Yes, I commonly state to similar OP's that if they are "unable" (because, for example, they may also have conversion problems with Office 2011, Appleworks 6, Freehand or other programs) or "unwilling" (perhaps they just cannot afford to upgrade all of their PPC apps at this time), that here is an alternative that will keep the status quo available to them, and buy them some more time to consider their options while continuing to use Lion/Mountain Lion and their PowerPC apps.
Is the relevance of my post to the OP's problem (and your reply to my solution) sufficiently clear for you now?

  • I need a UPS,Mountain Lion compatible. Any ideas?

I have a 24" Intel iMac running 10.7.5, a new 27" iMac running Mountain Lion, 5 HD's ( Time machine, cloned USB drives and a Firewire OWC Raid array). I'm guessing APC has the solution but I'm unclear on which model to buy. 15 minutes of uptime would probably be fine. Any thoughts on what to buy?
    Thank you.

Most likely, some folders were inadvertently excluded from your backups, and as a result you can't restore your data in Recovery, Setup Assistant, or Migration Assistant.
Starting from a fresh installation of OS X, set up a new administrator account and log in. Follow the instructions on this page to associate your existing backups with the new installation.
You should now be able to enter Time Machine and restore your user data from a snapshot.* I suggest you do this in two stages. Quit all applications except the Finder before you begin.
Restore all the visible items at the top level of your home folder.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. Enter Time Machine and restore all items in the Library folder. Log out and log back in as soon as the restore is complete.
Any other invisible folders or files at the top level of your home folder that you want to preserve will have to be restored separately. For most users, that isn't necessary.
You'll have to reinstall all third-party applications from scratch, or restore them from another kind of backup, if you have one.
*If you don't see any snapshots in Time Machine, exit the time-travel view and then hold down the option key while selecting
    Browse Other Backup Disks...
from the Time Machine menu, which has an icon that looks like a clock running backwards. Select the backups of your computer by its previous name. If you don't have the Time Machine menu, open the Time Machine preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked
Show Time Machine in menu bar

  • Logic Pro 9 and Mountain Lion, compatible or not?

I'm confused: RoaringApps says LP is not compatible with ML.
    Apple suggests it is.
    I have 9.1.7.
    Anyone know for usre, please?
    Thanks!

I don't have VSL running here so can't say for certain. But it should work fine - all of my instruments and plugins are working without issue (including NI Komplete, Wallander, Virus TI, Omnisphere, and even EW Play, which has been known to stop working just by looking at it funny).
As always, make sure you have a way back before upgrading - maybe via Time Machine or a recent clone of your system drive.
