Is mountain lion free for lion users

is mountain lion free for lion users

Keep in mind, as soon as that's offered, if it is offered, that's the time buy from a store a Lion installed Mac.  That way, in event you have Lion compatible software which hasn't been tested with Mountain Lion, at least you'll have the option to stick with Lion until Mountain Lion is ready for you.  So keep your eye on http://www.apple.com/pr and http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ once summer begins.  Apple has offered up to date programs for a long time, typically up to three weeks prior to the release date, and given you a chance to know when the release date is.  If you order online though, and they are out of stock, you may be stuck with a Mountain Lion only compatible machine.  An authorized Apple retailer should be able to carry at least some models through http://www.apple.com/buy/ so check their stock at that time for what you desire.

  • Edge Animate CC is not free for beta users?

    Hi,
I have been an Edge Animate user from the very start and I was really happy to hear that the initial release would be offered for free to us Beta Users.  I noticed the Edge Animate CC is not currently being offered for free and I was really dissappointed. A lot of people have put a ton of time and energy into pushing Edge forward including: providing feedback, helping users in the forums and promoting edge to our friends.  It would be greatly appreciated if Adobe recognized this and made it available for free to us.

    Hi Adam,
Animate 1.x is offered for free. When we launched 1.0 last September Animate was offered with a promotional price of $0. It was technically a paid application, but offered at a 100% discount as a thank you to our users for helping us with the product. We made it clear with messaging that only the 1.x version would have this premium.
Animate 1.x is also a perpetual version so you can use it without paying for as long as you wish.
Animate CC is offered as part of the paid CC subscription, so if you're a subscriber it comes with the bundle or standalone at $19.99 a month.
    You can learn more here.

  • Pages for lion, pages for lion

I have Lion 10.8.5 but I can not find Pages for that version. Any idea?

You need to install it from an iWork 09 DVD; places such as Amazon and eBay may sell these. If you previously got a compatible iWork version from the Mac App Store and can't download it now, go to the Mac App Store homepage, click on Support under Quick Links, contact Apple, and see what they say.

  • Is ODAC free for Oracle10g user?

    Hi all,
My company brought Oracle10g server some years ago. I've noticed that ODAC support Linq and could be used to connect Oracle 10g.
Can we use ODAC 11.2 Release 4 (11.2.0.3.0) with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio for commerical use due we already purchased Oracle 10g server?
    Regards,
    zlf

In general, the answer is yes, you can use ODAC without additional license fees.
If you want a definitive answer, then check how your planned use meshes with ODAC license agreement on the download page.
Sometimes, it depends on exactly how you want to use the software. For example, if commercial use means redistributing ODAC software with your own outside your company, then the answer is maybe. It depends on what your partner license agreement says.

  • Is it possible to make some apps free for a limited duration?

I've been using apps both on the Android market and iTunes store.I've noticed that some apps
such as "Whatsapp messenger" which are free across all markets are paid apps on iTunes store.
It would be wonderful if such apps were free for iOS users also.So is it posible to make an app free
for iOS users also? If not, atleast is it possible to make it free for a limited duration?

Just FYI, Whatsapp is not free indefinitely even on Android phones. They give a one-year trial period after which you have to pay per year for the subscription (a miniscule amount, but you have to pay nonetheless), whereas with the iOS app you pay once up front and then don't have to pay again. So in the long run, the iOS version comes out cheaper (at least unless Whatsapp changes their pricing model). And also just FYI, Whatsapp doesn't work on the iPod touch, only on the iPhone.
In any case, as planb77 said, pricing is totally up to the developer of the app. It's completely the developer's choice what price to charge for an app.
    Regards.

  • Skype Group Video: Free for everyone or not?

I've been paying for Skype Premium for 2 years now for group video chat.  Now I read EVERYWHERE including Skype's website that says Skype Group Video chat is now free.   So I chat with a Skype customer service guy to find out why I was charged for Skype Premium and why I even need it anymore. He tells me Group Video is NOT free for everyone and that it's coming in the near future.  I asked him why the FRONT PAGE of Skype.com says it's free and all he says it that it's not free.
Anyone know what the deal is?
Here's page 2-3 for our chat log:
    Spectral : at 16:20:44
so if Group calling I now Free, I do not need Skype Premium? Since that's all I used it for

    Alright..
    Jogel V: at 16:18:20
But you still don't have this free premium Robert..

What do you want to do to your Skype Premium? Tell me please so I can assist you
    Spectral : at 16:22:24

    Spectral : at 16:22:48
I was paying for Premium to get Group calling.
    Spectral : at 16:23:10
so now that group is Free. I do not need Premium
    Jogel V: at 16:20:29
    Yes I understand..
    Jogel V: at 16:20:43
We cannot do that just in one day Robert..
    Spectral : at 16:23:43
    do what?
    Jogel V: at 16:20:54
It takes time for everyone to have it..
    Jogel V: at 16:21:06
    It's moving Robert.
    Jogel V: at 16:21:15
    You can wait.
    Jogel V: at 16:21:39
Like what I ve said, you will receive notification about this once Free Group video calling reached
    you.

so group calling isn't Free even though Skype Web page says it's free?
    Jogel V: at 16:22:19
It's free for some users Robert. As of now.. not for all.
    Jogel V: at 16:22:27
We are still working on it.
    Jogel V: at 16:22:43
    I hope you understand..
    Jogel V: at 16:23:01
So to settle this Robert, what do you want to happen??
    Spectral : at 16:27:06
sorry, I don't. I know what you're saying. But why does www.skype.com says "Group calling is
now FREE". Nowhere does it say it's free to only "some" people.
    Jogel V: at 16:24:27
    Yes..
    Jogel V: at 16:24:39
Because people think Skype is unfair.
    Jogel V: at 16:24:45
    Why just for some right??
    Jogel V: at 16:25:04
The reason why we put "ALL" because all users will have it..
    Jogel V: at 16:25:13

    Jogel V: at 16:25:49
    not all users..
    Jogel V: at 16:26:00
    AS OF NOW..
    Jogel V: at 16:26:34
    Would there be anything else?

Indeed we had some changes recently with Group Video calling becoming a free feature in Skype. Some further reading here: http://blogs.skype.com/2014/04/28/skype-loves-bringing-groups-together-with-free-group-video-calling...
We therefor upgraded Skype Premium subscriptions as detailed here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA34454/what-s-new-with-group-video-calling
The Skype Premium subscription you have includes an unlimited calling option to a country of your choice. This should get upgraded to an "Unlimited World" subscription allowing you to call 60+ countries while keeping the same subscription price. This upgrade hasn't seem to have happened yet for your account though.
If you don't think you will use the calling subscriptions please follow the instructions here to cancel your subscription. Then follow the instructions here to request a refund: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA297/how-do-i-request-a-refund

  • After installing Mountain Lion, why is there Yahoo access for one user but not another?--both are administrators.

After installing Mountain Lion, why is there Yahoo access for one user but not another?--both are administrators.

We've had several instances where we have had to run chkdsk on arrays with over 1m files. Average completion time is approximately 72 hours. The maximum downtime window they have available is the 64 hour weekend window. File sizes and number of files were
much smaller then than they are now.
The idea, in theory, was to use VHDs to compartmentalize the data into smaller volumes which could be more easily managed. It would also improve performance when transferring these compartments of data as they would use sequential read/write rather than
fragmented/random. This idea was never fleshed out in entirety, they don't split data up into little containers, but simply into big ones per project. Hence the 11m files in one container that I am currently trying to diagnose.
Some other important facts: The VHD in question is mounted in B:/project/ as this server also allows remote workers to log in, but they are restricted to see only data in E:. Disks A-D are hidden via group policy.
Update: icacls is failing on a large number of files within this dataset. I counted the path characters to ensure it wasn't the 255 character limit I was encountering and verified that the paths being blocked are only about 150 characters long. Once it finishes,
I'll have to try taking ownership and then re-running it. At this point I still have no idea how long to expect. I'm running out of time as the environment will be in use again at 9AM tomorrow morning.

  • Mountain Lion upgrade effects mail rules for all users

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, the mail rules appear to be "shared" for all user on our Mac. When a user adds a rule, everyone sees this rule.  Some mail rules are lost in the process.  How can we fix this?

If it is hanging on the 'upgrading database' portion please see this discussion and the solution posted by registerednderd at the bottom of the first page.  It worked for me at least to get past the 'upgrading database' hangup and then to import the old messages.
