Is my Acer 7551G-7459 able to be updated to Windows 10. The MS says yes but I have boot problems.

Your system is not listed as an eligible model on the Acer website but that does not mean your system will not support the upgrade itself. What that means is Acer will not be uploading Windows 10 drivers to our support website for your system.
According to Microsoft you have to meet these requirements for your system to support the upgrade:
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Free hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver A Microsoft account and Internet access

I'm also having a problem with recently converting to 10 from 8.1.  My problem is that scanning initiated from the HP 6600 All-in-One no longer works.  When I chatted with the Windows 10 support rep, I explained the problem and that I didn't want to go back to 8.1 and asked if he could help.  But his help was instructions on how to go back to 8.1 and nothing about how to solve the problem!  Some help that was!  But maybe it will help you. 1. Go to Settings (I use the Windows+I keys) to get there,2. Click on Update & Security,3. Click on Recovery & then4. Click on Go Back to 8.1. I didn't do that because I like 10 much better.  But if I can't get a solution to the scanning problem, I will have to because I need that capability fairly often. Hope that helps.

    You may need to force close all open apps, then restart the phone. If necessary, you may need to reset the phone after that.

    If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
    App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
    App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
    You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
    However, sometimes a previous version is not available.

  • HT1296 I was using the iCloud for my iPod and had recorded an important Voice Memo on the device. Before I was able to store it on my computer, the device stopped working. I have the data on the Cloud, how can I get that back to my iMac?

    I was using the iCloud for my iPod and had recorded several irreplaceable Voice Memos. It went up to the Cloud, but I wasn't too savvy with the Cloud at that point, so it wasn't syncronizing to my home computer.     The new device I got to replace the iTouch is a iPad and I don't see the playlist I created with previous voice memos on it at all. Is there any way to access them on the iPad? If I erase the iPad and restore it with the old back up will the Voice Memos come along and get in to my home computer or will I be out of luck?

    The hp Support Assistant has not been able to download updates since I got the laptop. I have resently tried to fix it.  I have unistalled the old version and successfully installed the new version.  However, it still cannot download the updates. When it tries to get hp updates, this screen always shows up.

    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP G61  Notebook and issues running updates to your Notebook. Here is a link to troubleshooting the HP Support Assistant. I would start with the second link marked HP Support Assistant is stuck gathering information.
    I would think that it is a firewall or virus protection. Here is a link to Microsoft to make sure your Windows 7 updates have been done.

  • Acer Aspire V5-531 Dolby Advanced Audio driver issues after updating to Windows 10

    After upgrading to Windows 10 I was getting an error on loading Windows media player which indicated that: The current Dolby audio driver version is 7.2.8000.17 and the softwareapplication expects driver version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a valid driver and application combination  Although Windows 10 has probably updated your driver to the latest version of the driver (you can check this in device manager for yourself) but the Dolby Advanced Audio V2 application which was supplied by Acer (not Dolby) has not been updated to the corresponding latest version. So, you need an updated version of Dolby Advanced Audio V2 (Version 7.2.8000.17) Acer have not published an updated version. Looked all over the site coudn't find it.  My solution was to remove the error was to uninstall the Acer version and replace with the correct version downloaded from the Lenovo site below. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028945  I'd wanted to make sure it was the same software, so I tried without uninstalling first and it refused as a version was already installed. So that was reassuring. Thanks for the archived post below pointing me to the softwre on the Lenoveo site at the Lenovo site. I'd looked all over the Acer site for it. http://community.acer.com/t5/2013-Archives/how-i-solved-the-dolby-realtek-audio-problem/td-p/103157  There are warnings on the page above not to use the Lenovo version of the software because of 'tuning', but my audio sounds just as good as before and the error is now gone. Without it the Dolby would have been uninstalled so it seemed a reasonable punt to me. Disappointed in Acer, will buy a Lenovo next time...

    Hi, The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for The V5-552G on windows 8 (not 8.1) This will work on your computer even if different model... the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 has not work either. So the one I´m using is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To Download the Driver and Software needed Go to: http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers and Go: Ultra-Thin / Aspire / V5-552G To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck

    I use the latest Iphoto version and OS X 10.9.
    I tried to create a calendar in iphoto that includes all birthday information of my family. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this.
    I tried two differnt ways to get the information into the calendar.
    First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
    Therefore I have to get the information into the calendar in a different way. For that I created a new calendar in ICal and created for each Birthday entries.
    I select the option in the Iphoto calendar to show the new calendar in iPhoto. But the result was worse than with the first solution. Only few entries was shown in the calender.
    Do anybody have an idea how can I solve this issue.

    Do the birthdays (from Contacts) show correctly in the Calendar app? Sometimes there is a formatting problem with the date string in the Contacts. If the Birthdays do not show correctly in the Calendar.app, try to delete them from Contacs and enter them again, and check, if they now are showing correctly in Calendar. Quit both Contacts and Calendar.
    Then restart iPhoto, and in the "Settings" for your Photo Calendar disable the Birthdays option, and then turn it on again.
    Any changes you do to the birthdays in Contacts may only appear in iPhoto Calendars after Calendar or Contacts wrote their databases, and iPhoto will read these databases, when you enable the "Birthdays" option. Toggling this option on and off will ensure, that the new Contacs info will be read.

Do I have to take it to the store or is there something that I can fix on my own because my warranty is up and I have nothing but problems when I go into an actual apple store.

    My old PC crashed and I ended up buying a new one.  I was able to recover all my music from the old hard drive and restore it in itunes.  I purchased a new album online thru itunes and added it to my library.  When I tried to add the album to my 6th nano it wouldn't download.  All the tracks are check marked and I can listen to the album on my pc but it won't sync onto the ipod.  The new pc is authorized, any ideas?

    You can only sysc with one iTunes library. The new computer is a new library. You have to restore your iPod on the new conputer and then sync.

    Oops, I forgot a step between 7 and 8 ... before syncing the iPhone I need to explicitly send the document back to iTunes on the iPhone, or the changes won't come over at all ...
    and then one more thing ... Numbers on iOS does NOT recognize a number of key features of the OSX app, such as conditional formatting ... so after editing my document on iOS and syncing it back to OSX on my Mac, all of those settings are lost (no more conditional formatting, have to do it all over again)
    What am I doing wrong ?
