Is my battery working fine?

I've only been using it for like 5 hours and it's only 20% now. My iPod Touch 5 is new and I don't know if this is normal. Please answer thank you

That seems to be normal. To maximize battery life see:

  • T.C., Endless Preparing Backup on Battery, Works Fine on Power Adapter?

When my computer performs a backup while I'm using the battery, it just says Preparing Backup and doesn't progress. On the other hand when my computer performs a backup with the power adapter plugged into my computer, the backup works fine. I can't alway carry my charge around with me, so is there any way that I could get my Time Capsule to backup while I'm using the battery?

    Welcome to the discussions!
"so is there any way that I could get my Time Capsule to backup while I'm using the battery?"
Can you check a setting by clicking on the clock shaped Time Machine icon at the top of your screen and selecting Open Time Machine Preferences?
Make sure that there is a check mark next to "backup while on battery power".
Not sure if this is causing your issue or not, but good idea to check this if you haven't already done so.

  • T42P replacement battery working fine then not recognized

I purchased a replacement battery about 10 months ago and everything was working great until October when it appeared to stop accepting a charge (blinking orange LED) and the battery gauge read nothing.  The OEM battery (4 years old) still works, accepts a charge and works fine in the laptop.
When the battery was returned under warranty to the battery vendor, they indicated that there is nothing wrong with battery, it works in their laptops and holds a charge.  They think it is a software issue caused by an update.
I installed Batt Stat and Battery Monitor to validate the charge.  Batt Stat says no battery is installed and Battery Monitor indicates a 100% charge while on AC.  When I pull the AC plug from the laptop it immediately goes into hibernation.  No time to check battery status.
    What is going on?

I am having the exact same problem with a dell 9200. After an automatic update my new replacement battery is no longer recognized. The computer was on over night, so the battery is completely drained. The same thing happened about a month or so ago, and then one day "spontaneously" fixed itself. My hibernate mode is turned off, but that doesn't change anything. Someone suggested I update the bios, but I can't because that can only be done with a working battery. In any regard I'm sure my bios is up to date (last release 2005, and updated this year). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Battery works fine one day, next day "Irreparable Battery Damage Has Occured"... TWICE

I have a three year old IBM X60s that up until a few days ago, was running perfectly. I decided to restore the entire thing to factory condition using the recovery CD's at which point I then updated all the software to the most recent versions. I have two 8 cell batteries for it. After shutting the lid one night to let it go to sleep, I awoke the next morning and turned it on to see a message that said I had "irreparable battery damage". My battery indicator light flashes orange and my laptop will not charge the battery, even though it says I have 94% left, If I unplug it, the entire thing shuts down. It sees that the battery exists and has a charge, but refuses to use that power. Other then these notifications, it acts exactly the same as if there wasn't a battery. So, as annoyed as I was, I stuck in my other battery. I'm sitting on the couch, using my laptop one day, when all of sudden, the entire thing shuts down completely. I plug it in and turn it on to get the message "A battery error has occurred. The battery cannot be charged. Replace the battery." Even though it says this battery is around 80% charged. Now the both have this message despite the fact that up until a few days ago, both were functioning perfectly, holding around 5 hours of charge, which was plenty good enough for me. One has been through a few more then 200 charge cycles, the other a little over 100. I'm at an utter loss as to what to do. I've run the battery diagnostic tool and it says both batteries have not been recalled. I've tried recalibrating them, but nothing works. They are obviously way out of warranty, but this is obviously not a problem with the batteries since they were functioning perfectly before this incident. What should I do?

    hi,
i now have the same problem. the battery just died and i have a flashing orange battery icon, the software tells me the battery is at 90% charge.
i read in the forum that the charging unit of the mainboard might be damaged if you keep running your notebook whilst the icon is flashing.
what was your solution? did you just buy a new battery and it worked again?
    thanks in advance,

  • Blackberry wont send/recieve calls and texts. Net apps and BBM working fine. Not battery, signal or credit problem.

My phone wont recieve texts or send SMS or phone calls. Have tried on many peoples phones, on different networks.
Have had this phone a couple of weeks. It was working fine until yesterday, now suddently when I attemp to call it says 'failed' and when i send tects they do not send. It wont recieve calls and tects from people who have tried in the same room.
I have this sim card years and have never had a problem before.
Untill yesterday I could call, text and recieve both just fine.
My BBM, app world and internet are working.
It is not a battery problem, it is charged.
It is not a credit problem, i have both free and actual credit.
it is not signal problem, the phone shows high signal, and other people on same network are working fine.
I have looked up simular problems, and attempted the solutions. Taking the battery out and resarting the phone does not change it,  regestering the phone and sending service books did not fix the problem.
I have Blackberry Curve 8520, on Tesco pay as you go.
Any solutions? Please include instructions - i do not know how to find out what OS i am running, so if this is part of the solution please advise.

    Hi Ammasay
Phone, SMS and MMS are all services supported by your wireless provider. Considering all of these features are not working, I would recommend contacting them to find out if there is a problem with your account or their services.  BlackBerry features, such as BBM, BlackBerry App World, etc all use the BlackBerry network and thats why they are still working.
    Thanks

If you have records that show that you've taken your MacBook Pro in for a year to fix the machine, I would escalate the problem to Apple Customer Relations - unfortunately I don't have a number for Spain.
It would only seem logical to me that if you've been trying to have the machine repaired during the time that the 'recall' was in effect that you should be eligible for a new logic board. But only customer relations will be able to make that call.
Good luck - take the issue as high up the food chain as you can and see what happens.

  • Battery checks say change battery, but it charges and works fine. Help?

    Hey there,
Just having a problem with my Laptop battery. My product type is a HP G61 Notebook PC. The battery icon in the bottom left says the battery should be replaced, with checks saying it has reached the end of it's useful life.
I find this hard to believe since I've had the laptop a year and it still charges and works fine. I don't want to spend any unnecessary money at the moment so I'm not sure whether to wait and ignore it to see how it goes.
    Suggestions?

Yes, your battery is likely toast and in need of replacement.  Not much else for troubleshooting here.  Sorry.

  • My MBP 7,1 wifi connection suddenly stopped working. It was working fine before until the battery emptied. I turned it on but it froze so I tried to reset it. Then, after that it no longer detect any wifi signal in any areas I go.

Hi Everyone. My MBP 7,1 didn't have any wifi issues not until 2 weeks ago. The laptop's battery got empty and when I tried to turned it on, the computer just froze. So I tried to reset it. However, I noticed that the wifi or airport can no longer detect any wifi signal. There were instances that it wouldn't turn on when I shut it off but now, it seems okey. I tried the zapping of PRAM and deleting all the things needed as I saw in different threads but it still not working. The ethernet works fine but I still need the wifi. Its been 2 weeks already. I don't have an Apple Store near me coz I am in southern part of Philippines. Can someone shed light on this? Thank you so much.

Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

  • Hello.  I recently pieced together a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15".  Everything works fine except the battery constantly goes between "not charging" and "calculating" or, rarely "charging". It does charge after a long while and will report that it is charged.

I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC a couple of time but that didn't work so I ran an Apple Hardware Test and while testing the logic board it gives the following error:
    4SNS/1/40000000 LB1T
I've done some research and found this is a temperature sensor related to the battery, but cannot find where the sensor is located in the computer.  Would you know how I can find the sensor to test it?  Could my battery problem be related to something else?  Would a fresh install of Lion help?
    Thank you!
    Mike
Two pieces of information that may or may not b helpful, the hard drive is from my early 2008 MBP and the only test disc I have access to is from an iMac.

Why do you have LION installed on that older machine?
So you say you built a macbook from a bucket of parts eh?   Kudos
heres a pic of the battery temp sensor

Sounds like it may need to be replaced. Contact Apple.

A liquid damaged iPhone 4 can be replaced by Apple for $149.
By the way... and electrical short can be dangerous, creating a fire or explosion hazard. You can see the short that's affecting the flash... It's the short you may not see that's affecting the battery and/or charging circuitry that's the problem.

  • Ibook g4 cant turn on with charger, but works fine with battery

i have a ibook g4 cant turn on with charger.
using battery, ibook works fine-----so not the battery problem
charger works fine on other ibook-----so not the charger problem
the DC-in board works fine on other ibook-----so not the DC-in problem
    reset the PMU----no work.
when the battery is on ibook, plug in the charger, light is green, but will not charge the battery. in OS X it shows running on battery. if run out off battery, will turn off.
if took off the battery, and plug the charger, cant turn on; and light is dark.
    any idea?
PMU chip is broken? how can i change the PMU?
    thanks a lot

    you are holding Shift-Control-Option-Power correct?
To replace the PMU requires a new / refurb logic board.

It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

    It's working fine for me.
I have noticed that it is possible to deselect all the estimates in the main app screen so wonder if that could be your problem. Make sure that at least one icon has a grey background as in the attached grab - 04 selected, 05 deselected.
I don't remember being able to deselect "Average Use" in earlier versions.
