Is my cable company throttling bandwidth when I download songs that are matched?

I have a large library that I slimmed down to fit into the 25K limit. After doing the scan and matching I had about 16K songs that were matched but had lower bit rate versions locally. So I set about downloading these tracks using the Option Delete, Download" approach from a playlist created to gather all such tracks. Since I started this task (about 10 days ago) I noticed a reliable pattern where by the Activity monitor has cyclic spikes during downloads. If downloading single tracks (no simultaneous downloads) I get a track about every 2 - 2.5 minutes. The tracks spend most of that time with the blue and white candycane before commencing download. During the candy cane phase the Activity Monitor reports about 50-65 KB/Sec. Once a track commences downloading the network activity jumps to 500 KB/Sec - occasional 2.5MB/Sec. The graph in activity monitor looks like a heart rate monitor on an episode of House. Blip, flat line for a couple of minutes followed by blip. The regularity makes me suspect some kind of automated gatekeeping going on at my cable provider.
Any way to determine if this is the case?

Did you happen to do a time machine restore on your Mac recently? I did right before this happened, just trying to see of there's a correlaltion. Anyway, I figured out kind of a work around. On the songs that won't add to the iPod you basically need to remove them from iCloud the add them again. When I do this they upload instead of match, but at least they work now.
Delete the song in iTunes, check the box that says "remove from iCloud". The on the next pop up, choose "keep file". Then add the song back to iTunes then Control click and "add to iCloud"(or just wait for it to do it on its own), it will then upload the songs then you can download direct to your iPod.
Another possibility that I thought of afterward is to turn off iTunes match on the computer then turn it on again so it rescans the collection, you might try this first since if it works you won't have to do each individual song. Let me know if you try this.

Generally all you need do is give tracks from the same album a common Album Artist. See Grouping tracks into albums. The images need an update but the basic info. still holds.

TS3217 When I try to skip one song on my ipone, it skips through several. The songs that are skipped can be played on the same iphone if I go into my itunes and select that song. So this tells me that the song can be played, therefore, it is not the song.

I have the latest softeware downloaded on both my iphone and itunes. In fact, this only recently started occuring when I reconnected my iphone to my laptop about a month ago to install the new updates on itunes.
I also have an itouch and an ipod, both of which have been updated at the same time as my iphone and they do not skip through songs.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings

I'm currently developping an image processing algorithm using Labview 7.1 and the associated IMAQ Vision tools. After several tests, I found a weird result. Indeed, I put the labview algorithm - including the IMAQ VI on the library to get sure that I use all the time the same VI - on my memory stick and used it on two different computers. I tested the same picture (still in my memory stick) and had two very different results.
After several hours trying to understand why, I found that there were a difference between the results given by both computers at the very begining of the algorithm. Indeed, I used a JPEG file.
To open it, I first create an Image with IMAQ Create (U8). Then, I open it.
Then in my first sub-VI, I use IMAQ Cast Image to be sure that the picture is a U8 grayscale picture.
Right after that, I use the IMAQ Linear Averages. The results of this VI are different on the two computers.
I tried several time on the same picture : one computer always give me the same result but the two computers give me a different result. So there is no random variable on the results.
So my question is : Do IMAQ Cast Image or IMAQ Linear averages give different results when using different computers that are running under Windows XP ?
My bet is on IMAQ Cast Image but I'm not quite sure and I do not undestand why. The labview and IMAQ are the same on both computers.
The difference between the two computer are above :
Computer 1 :
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz with a RAM of 1Go. The processor is an Intel(R).
The OS is windows XP Pro 2002
Computer 2 :
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz with a RAM of 512Mo. The processor is an Intel(R).
The OS is windows XP Pro 2002.

Unless you have an Internet connection you cannot access iCloud. You can download your music from iCloud to store permanently on your iPhone, but only when you have an Internet connection to do so.

HOW do I use Quicktime as default media player when I download songs??

When I download songs from the internet, what pops out is a blank screen with the words ("no video") in the middle. I hear the song but dont see anything else and I cant save the song. My wife runs the same system and when she downloads, quicktime comes out she can see the cursor and can save the music. Is there something wrong with my default settings?

Paolo, if you have a Macintosh as your profile indicates, try posting in the QuickTime for Mac forum. You'll be more likely to get help there than you will here in the QuickTime for Windows forum. When you repost, please state the version of QuickTime you have, the web browser you use, and whether you are using the free, playback-only version of QuickTime Player or you have QuickTime Pro. Posting an example URL to a typical web site from which you're trying to save a song will probably also be helpful.

*Skipping songs*
The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
You may like to try scanning the files with MP3 Validator which can find & fix some internal MP3 errors.
Some users have also suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information can be a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/option clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags > None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I have found files for which these solutions don't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g. convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original files back onto the iPod.

My iPod keeps stopping when i download songs to it

I first had a problem with downloading music to my ipod because it said that there was a corruption, so I format my ipod and then I start having a bunch of other programs installing the software but I fixed that. Now when I update songs on to my iPod is says that "the disk could not be read from or written to." I can load songs but when this happens the downloading stop and I have to restart it. Does anyone know how to fix my problem? This is on a PC btw.

When your Shuffle is connected- How do you View the songs that are on it?

So when I connect the shuffle to the computer it shows up in itunes. I can click on it and it takes me to the summary page with several tabs (music, podcast, etc), but I can't seem to figure out how to see what songs I have uploaded to the device? You need to click the small arrow on the left hand side your iPod's device name in the left hand pane of iTunes as seen in this photo (in this case the name of the iPod is in fact iPod ). Doing so will open up a small menu underneath.
