Is my Camcorder recording speed going to effect playback?
I just got a new FS-100 Canon Videocamera which records on SD and SDHC cards. It has the abilty to record in LP (3 mb/sec); SP (6 mb/sec) and XP (9 mb/sec). So I'm thinking best to record in the highest quality - since I'm taking a major vacation trip (finally!)--
--but then read that it might be better to record in SP (6 mb/sec) because although iMovie will not have a problem with this, I read: "...but 6 mb/sec better if your final format is DVD since some players will have problems keeping up".
I'm not really sure what that means---

OK this may also be a question for iMovie but any comments appreciated. My idea is to import from the SD and SDHC cards into iMovie and then burn DVD's from there-- but believe I have to use iDVD to burn DVD's?

I prefer using camcorders that have a FW port in terms of a digital interface as opposed to USB2. I also prefer using iM6 as opposed to iMovie 7 when it comes to editing and custom chapter markers. It's a free download from apple's web site assuming you already have iLife'08:

That would be my first recommendation. The second would be to record to MiniDv tape and not to SD cards if you plan to edit with i-Apps as well as burn to DvD-R Verbatim. The final results will look cleaner than video captured to SD Memory cards. I'm assuming this planned vacation is a once in a lifetime trip with loved ones and if it were mine (I wish) I'd want it recorded to a highly reliable and tested format. MiniDv is just that.
The camcorder you currently use is not my favorite choice. The FS100 will deliver typical budget video in line with their budget price tags. But is this really what you want for your vacation? Think about it? "No optical image stabilization; ineffective wind filter; no headphone jack; modest video quality."???
Will it work? .... marginally, yes (or rather maybe). And not without jumping through a few hoops to finally get it to Dvd-R. And when all is said and done; what about the quality? Is this how you will remember your vacation?

Lastly, in regard to recording speed. Stay with SP mode (or the highest setting for quality playback". Don't forget to bring a quality tripod in the event you do opt to stay with the FS100 simply out of Budget considerations.

simple rule: the better the input, the better the output.
video gets some heavy encoding, when 'converted' into a videoDVD (by iDVD, indeed that is the disk-maker....)
so, to avoid artifacts and blurring and smearing in final product, I would allways use the 'highest' quality setting.
you can not compare the bitrates of a camcorder with the bitrates on videoDVD.. titally different odecs in use.. a disk has by standards a max of ~9MBs/sec.. but you're camera probably uses a different codec, so.. no use to care about.. -
How to leapfrog selected record and going to the next one

i have a Linux script to read the name of the files listed on the Table , then open those files and save the content on another table , i need to speed up the process by running this script multiple time , so i need to
read the first record (File name ) then running the script again to check if the record already selected then go to the second record and so on .
is there any way to check the selected row then leapfrog this record and going to the next record .
Im already tried (for update skip locked ) but this will return ( no row selected message when locked ) and when running on the 2 Scripts it will considering it as same session and always will be the same .

After iOS 7 update, my iPhone 4s Voice Memo App has 5 second delay when the record button is pressed. When it starts recording, it goes from 0 seconds to 5 or so seconds that it shows has recorded. This happens randomly and often, sometimes it will have the 5+ second delay but starts recording at zero seconds. Besides the delay it has been working fine as far as saving and playback is concerned. I have plenty of storage on the phone itself and it NEVER had this problem before I updated to iOS 7. I've reset the phone a couple times by holding down the power and home buttons at the same time. The reason I have an issue with this is that I'm always recording song ideas, melodies, and scratch takes; what I'm saying is when I come up with an idea I need to be able to know that when I hit record it will start right then so I don't forget anything that has just popped in my mind.
Does anyone have a solution or suggestion?

Is there any easier way to edit imovie files that have been exported as mov file then added to FCE 4?? As every move I make has to be rendered and takes forever??? Also my recording is going out of focus without me touching the camera, why has this happened any idea what causes this??
iMovie '08, Mac OS X (10.5.8), FCE 4My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Some of the data for same records is going on to the next page in excel??

I designed a template in word with page setup orientation to Landscape, to get the Excel report output. Later when i preview the same in Excel with the Landscape page setup..the print preview is showing me with some of the data going out of the page set up.My font size for data in word I put is 8pt Times New Roman.
Basically..my requirement is to print the report in excel with the landscape page setup.
But some of the data for same records is going on to the next page in excel??
How do i prevent this from happening?

The blog suggested above is to set the output for a PDF document using RTF template. Whereas, my requirement is to get a excel output using RTF template, with data fitting directly with in the landscape orientation of EXCEL when printed.
Basically, the requirement is : When i run the report, the excel output should be sent to a printer with style 'Landscape' from apps?? But the problem is that i am not getting all the pagebreaks i put in the RTF template and also some of the data for the same records is not fitting in to the landscape orientation of the excel while it gets printed.
But when i run the same as a PDF everything is fine... ..But that's not my requirement...Please help!

Data Flow into my Cube is
Source System-->ODS (Delta)-->Cube(Delta)----->Multi Cube
1)create a copy cube with the new field
2)load from cube to cube via transformation,
3)reconcile the data,
But please advise on How to proceed
The Requests in the Cube is Compressed and there are aggregates defined on the cube
How its going to effect my process which i am planning to perform as above mentions

I am downloading a 6.4GB game with Safari. Download starts very well, 850KB/s but systematically after 10 or 15mn speed goes down until download stops. Can somebody help please?

Hello, please help, my interface is connected to the microphone and when i open Logic 9 it does´t work. But I opened garageband to check and it works fine. I can record voice with any effect... With Logic i see the sound passes in the interface but does not arrive in Logic. The Loops works fine and i can hear. Is just the sound to record the voice it does not work. What can i do ??? I used Logic before in the same computer and it worked fine. Thank you so much, I´m a begginer recording myself.
Make sure you go into preferences in Logic and set the audio input to be your interface and the audio output to be either built in output or the interface, if that is hooked up to something else. It sounds like Garageband has the audio interface set as the input but not Logic.
Also make sure you close all other applications except Logic to ensure it is not running in slave mode... -

Logic works fine until recording then goes crazy. As if someone is pressing down on the keypad space bar & down keys. The mouse becomes very hard to control. (jumping about) I have to quit Logic to get rid of it. Any ideas what I can do ?
I've tracked the problem down to my 'Shuttle Pro' (used for sending key commands to logic). Somehow it is deciding to send loads of messages after i hit record

If so, you can try iMovie to convert .mod to .mp4 or .m4v first, Then use iTunes to sync your video clips to iPhone 6. Hope it works.

Slowing the Particle Speed in After Effects Particle World?

I've already tried the Velocity and Gravity but these affect the shape and projectory of the particles, I'd like to just slow down the speed?

Build your main comp at a higher frame rate, render the movie, and bring it back into a 30fps comp. You can precompose and nest but the movie is generally easier to manage in your head. The highest frame rate I can use on my AE is 99fps. A more current version may offer higher frame rates. -
I forgot about slow download speed's negative effects... hence (I think) the videos I downloaded stop in the middle. I can get a better download speed if I connect directly to LAN. Is there anyway for me to fix the videos previously purchased or re download them without having to re purchase them? I'm attempting to play the video's directly from iTune "purchased" folder on my Win7 Home Premium PC.
Never mind.. I found instructions on how to re download purchased items. I only need help downloading 2 more items. I love the attention I've recieeved (I guess silly questions go unoticed... sigh)

If my camcorder records in 1080i, will i have any problems exporting my movie in imovie as 1080p? I read something about interlacing or deinterlacing?
I also have another question. I can't find an external blu-ray burner for a mac anywhere. How to I simply watch my exported 1080p movie edited in imovie on my hd tv? Apple tv only supports 720p correct? I read that the simplest way to watch it would be to save it on a flash drive then use a playstation 3 to watch the movie. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Some strings for which expression pedal is used is recorded well but during esch playback I have to move the modulation wheel. How can I resolve to hear my instrument during playback without twikking on the wheel !
I am having the same problems. My guess is that a lot of people are having the same problems and just living with it. Those of us who know where to go on the Internet come here to find a fix.
It seems Verizon has some explaining to do. Maybe they should try Beta testing new software a little better. I would rather have to wait longer for something that works. I am sure that some manager or director said this is close enough, deploy it and we will see what happens. Well, you are seeing the problems. Time to fix your mistake.

If you want to be up front about this, then just tell us. We are adults and can handle it. If you made a mistake, own up to it and give us some credit for doing your Beta testing in the field.
Customer Service is all about telling the truth and if you made a mistake, admit it and lets move on with a fix. I do not want to be told again that I should be able to unplug it, power cycle it, try the on-board diagnostics, etc., etc.......
