Is my CPU really overloaded....why all the crashes?

I'm on a quad core G5 with oodles of RAM running 10 or so tracks of pretty big multilayered Audio Instruments. My monitors say I've plenty of RAM left and plenty of CPU power to spare. In fact only 3 of the 4 processors seem to be being used. But I keep crashing and getting Core Audio overload error messages. This happens upon loading the song too as the samples load. Whatever song I create runs into the same problem at about the same stage of it's development. Any ideas?

My songs are on my primary hard drive with Logic application and with the external sample players I'm using (Kompakt with East/West Symphonic Orchestra).
The samples libraries are on the second hard drive. Should the songs be there too?
Justin, what do you mean by search benchmark song 2. Sorry for being dense here! Many thanks. I'd heard of Logic only assigning itself a fixed amount of RAM...one of those small but crucial bits of infor that apple and Logic don't like to announce I imagine...

Describe your crash? Are you getting four language screens that you must restart?
Have you tried to see if they don't happen with just an Apple keyboard and mouse attached?
Have you tried to see if they happen when booted off the DVD that shipped with the machine?
Have you run the hardware test that came with the machine?
If you don't have the orignal discs, do you have a 10.5.4, 10.5.6, or 10.6 retail disc? These look like and and do not say Upgrade, Dropin, or OEM on them.

They are not missing.
Within the last year or two many cameras do their own lens corrections before writing the JPG or even displaying the image on the back of the camera or in the electronic view finder, so Adobe does the same thing: the lens profiles are built into the camera raw engine and always applied. It’s confusing because cameras didn’t used to do this and Adobe didn’t used to do this, so we have the situation of older cameras having lens profiles you had to select from the dropdown lists, while newer cameras don’t require this. Of course removable-lens cameras still have this situation, but many/most recent P&S cameras have built-in lens corrections.
The Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop actually indicates when a built-in profile is being used, but LR does not, yet.

when I creating a domain value in chinese in the ESB control and confirm it, After I restart the
soa service, all the domain values that I created before and the one in chinese disappeared.
Although the domain values in english desappeared, in the code they are still can be used.
But the domain values in chinese can not be used.
All the maps(both english and chinese ) are in DVM Repository.
Can you help me ??? Why all the domain values disappeared from ESB control ?? thanks

two collegues of mine ran into a similiar problem. Their ESB console seemed empty as well.Until one of them let the console open for about 10 minutes and the services/system re-appeared.
Indicating that when the services do not show up could also be caused by a serious performance glitch or the services are calling external systems which time out.
Another option is to wait for a few minutes and see if your services etc show up again.
I don't know where this performance degradation is coming from though. The only thing I noticed is that the ORAESB schema ( advanced install ) is installing al of its objects in the USERS tablespace and that most ( almost all ) tables do not have any indexes / pk / fk's on them.
Maybe one or two indexes could speed up the ESB repository considerably.
Dave, In the upcoming 10.1.3.3 release is the repository in any way altered? Default tablespace? PK/FK and/or extra indices on certain tables/columns?

Is my website really lost? All the files are in my .Mac account but what?!

I have read several of the threads on the topic and have become quite disillusioned by the thought of having to start from scratch again. HELP!
I originally created my personal website, web.mac.com/username (I've moved the files to a different directory), several months back and had been using the previous edition of iWeb for its creation and maintenance. Since then my former computer, a MacBook, experienced a head crash that left me only with a backup that had been done 3 months prior. Since then, as I have inched my way through updating all of my work files, I have held of on doing anything with my website. I now want to edit it and with the upgrade (10/25/07) to a MacBook Pro and the new iWeb '08, I get that sinking feeling that this isn't going to end well.
My first issue (concern) has to do with how little conclusive and specific information is provided when it comes to the difference between a HomePage site and your other pages, namely when one has created their personal site using the web.mac.com avenue. Why is this process so ridiculously complicated? It really need not be and I wish someone took note of that.
As an avid user of MS FrontPage I was a little leery of using iWeb but was turned on by its ease of use and professional appearing pages and capabilities. However, after having invested all the time in making and publishing the site I am now concerned with the discussion and the seeming reality that I will have to start from scratch. All my files are sitting in my .mac account (I must admit in several locations as I got a bit zealous with ensuring that all the files were there in virtual triplicate) and yet from what I understand there is no way to get iWeb to point to those files so that you can simply begin the editing process again. Is that correct? When I go looking for 'Domain' files or anything of the sort that have been mentioned in discussions on and off this forum, I just don't see it. Is there no way to simply hop back on the train and edit my site again instead of starting from scratch? I'm just annoyed at opening iWeb only to see 'Site' and no other files! If there is a way that someone can share with me how to not have to redo everything, I am not against paying for the 'secret' as I think that the inability to simply 'import' or do anything that seems reasonable here is a bit frustrating. Can you begin again without starting from scratch?
I suppose if I am told that I can't then I will certainly have to turn my back on iWeb as even though MS FrontPage is not the best WYSIWYG, I can at least do directory management and things with manual code that iWeb has yet to incorporate (I do use iWeb Enhancer on my iWeb site to overcome this annoyance). I really need assistance as I would like to edit my website for the first time in over 4 months and as I said before will bail on iWeb if I have to start from scratch. Anyone willing to assist me, I again would be very appreciative. If there is a way, just let me know, I'm savvy enough with these types of things for the consultation process to take very little time at all.

To say that "everyone says" is a bit like saying "just because." iWeb doesn't instruct, prompt, or even suggest you make a copy of your Domain file. I'm not sure if that policy has changed in the past few months since I last used the program. However, if this file is so important wouldn't one think that it would also be available on the server with all the other files one uploads or backs up to iDisk?! And so for the user of the program to 'not know' or 'know because everyone says' to make a copy of the Domain file is a bit confusing. Again, as I am often careful with website files, that was also the reason why I had made so many copies of the files within the website. I liked using iWeb (and again hope to in the very near future) but because of the limitations I mentioned before, I was only using it to for my personal site. Having used a plethora of other programs I just wanted to be able to keep using iWeb for my own stuff and then as the functionality became available would then use it for others. I should clarify, use it to 'publish' other sites. I'm certainly not going to get into an argument over it and if you'd like to have the last word, that's fine too, I just think that this is a real issue and that if the program worked like others that one could import the files back in, it wouldn't be a problem at all. However, at this present moment I have all the pieces of the puzzle except for the key. I have all the files but am missing a so called Domain file that I didn't even know had existed until this issue reared its head. Again, I'm annoyed at how difficult an otherwise simple issue to address would be. It's almost like saying that I should have known that the hidden 'exe' or 'dmg' file should have been one I thought about when doing any kind of back up and that despite having all the content files, they mean nothing. I will continue to search for the Domain file as I am hopeful that when my IT guy (Network Administrator) backed all my contents prior to the crash, he took every single file and that one should be among them if it is the location as had been previously mentioned. When my Mac crashed, it's as I said, a head crash on the hard drive and so there was no coming back from that. It was truly irreparable as I sent it off to a very reputable data recovery company to save it to no avail. However, I had done a full backup three months prior and am hopeful that the file is somewhere on my work server. If not, as you have pointed out, I'm screwed. And so while I still say that the program is to be blamed for some of its odd idiosyncrasies, I also accept that we'll have to agree to disagree on the issue.

Why all the Font Explorer X server requests?

I recently upgraded to the paid version of Font Explorer, Linotype's Font Explorer Pro X 3.1, on my Macbook Pro running OSX10.6. Every time I launch the app, it goes through a 3-5 minute process where it gives me the following "Connection failed" modal dialog error about 10 times:
"The server (remote server name here) may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
The server being mentioned is my Mac Pro, which does not (or should not) have any bearing on what Font Explorer X is doing. I have no idea why it needs to access that computer.
I get these messages even when the Macbook is running on the same network with the Mac Pro actually connected and files from that machine open on the Mabook's desktop.
These messages never happened with the free version of Font Explorer X, so I'm at a complete loss as to what's going on. I deleted all files related to Font Explorer, including the .plist preference file and the Linotype folder in Application Support, AND I cleaned the font cache. I re-installed Font Explorer X 3.1 after emptying the trash, rebooting and clearing the PRAM. It went through all the normal motions of setup, indicating that it was a completely clean install. But again it goes through that impossible process every time I launch the app. What gives? Does anyone have any ideas?

Nokia Software Team...Why all the update problems?...

Do the nokia software team ever look at this forum? I really dont think so because they would know the problems that people, not just on this forum, but also other forums are having with the Nokia Service Updates. I do realise that many people have updated various models with success, but also a great number have had many different problems. Certain key features no longer work, phone dies totally half way through updating, phone freezes, wifi problems, and these are just a few of the problems encountered. Firmware and software updates are meant to eliminate these problems NOT create them. You really would think that the years of experience in this industry that nokia would get it right. I have used various Sonyericsson phones in the past and successfully updated the software at home using their update service on many ocassions and never had a single issue. My N91 has been taken to the service center, and i will never have the confidence to try and update at home again!!

I have been reading many posts from users who have lost items from the menu systems and other features and worse their handsets going off line.

Mountian Lion really slow and all the programs (itunes, skype, FaceTime) take an age to open or they don't open at all

Just installed Mountain Lion on my iMac runned smootly for the first 3 days and now everything is blocked, the only programs that works are mail safari and apple store, all the rest uses 3-4 min to open like skype and itunes or they don't open at all.

Why all the duplication?

I have 12GB of music on my computer, almost all of it ripped from ny personal CD collection with a few bought from iTunes.
When I added the music to iTunes in order to put it on my iPod it duplicated the entire library so I now have almost 24GB of music with all the music from my personal collection duplicated.
Is there any way to keep the music in the default location in My Music and synch with my iPod without having to pysically have a duplicate copy in the iTunes folder.
Also is there any way iTunes automatically recognizes new music on your computer like Real Player does?

Referring to managing music on the computer without duplicating the library since music exists already on computer. iTunes only.
As to the iPod issue, I was told by apple tech support that to synch with the iPod i have to physically have the files in the iTunes folder. Is that so? If so, how does one get around that?

Deleted firefox from my system, Just kept freezing all the time mainly with videos and pdf files
Wouldn't download files from certain sites either
Gone back to that ****** IE8 which is nothing more than a virus anyway but at least it works
