  • IPhone Fakes At Vietnam

    Hi Apple,
I'm a big fan of iphone from Vietnam. Recently, in my country has a company that provides iphone 4 & 4S fake called HKPhone with cheap price is only $200.
    http://www.hkphone.com.vn/
I think apple should reviews about this company

Apple is almost certainly aware of these fakes, but the countries in which they are sold and produced generally won't do much if anything to stop such sales.

  • Is my iphone 4 fake or been tampered with?

    Hi guys,
I just bought a "new" 32 gb Iphone 4 today October 16, 2011 here in our country the Philippines. Apparently the salesperson told me that my unit is new when it seems that it has been activated earlier.   I just have a few questions because I'm really worried. First, when i checked my warranty on Apple's website using my serial number it said my warranty is until January 9, 2012. That's just barely 3 months when it should be until October 16, 2012 right? Well I already submitted a complain on Apple's website and I'm still wating for a reply. Next is that I am not seeing any serial number at the back casing of my iphone. I am only seeing model number A1332 and no serial number. Is that normal?
Third is  that when I connect my iphone on my computer, I am seeing that the internal storage space is 28.8 gb free out of 57.9 gb. Is that normal as well because i believe that i only bought 32gb? Please help me, do I need to return the item where I bought it? Is my Iphone fake?

    hey guys,
Additional information: When I opened the box I was not able to find any apple sticker included. Is that a sign that the box was opened earlier?

I am heading over seas. A friend is about to purchase a I-phone for me & sent pictures. Included are both colors. According to these pictures, disregarding any accessories or background images. Is this iphone FAKE ? ? ?
    - Please Help Me Guys & Gals!...Pictures are below

Some of these are definite knockoffs.
The second pic down, with the USB port/battery on the bottom - there is to much space above the home button. On a real iPhone it is centered in the black band.
Same thing on the next pic, the slide to unlock is up way to high.
The white one has something funky going on with the ports on the bottom. Also, notice the USB cable in the middle pic, it seems to be full size USB on one end as expected, but the other end is not the wider Apple ipod connector - it can't be and stay hidden behind the USB plug.
Also, iPhones don't come with all those accessories, not even a slipper case.
Another poster, in another thread talks about an "iPhone" that a relative brought back from China. iTunes will not recognize it, and his PC shows it as 2 removable drives that total 1GB and a web cam.

  • Anyone jump from the Original iPhone to an iPhone 4?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

I upgraded from original iPhone on July 3rd. I loved the phone, but was worried over all the "antenna" issues so returned it within 30 days. I wanted to wait until end of September to be sure they did not come out with any minor change to the antenna which could affect future resale. I have been an Apple user since the original Mac back in the 1980's. First time I had to return a product -- but it is only temporary.
It was painful moving back to the original iPhone -- here are the main things I liked about the iPhone4 vs original:
3G speed: I ran Speedtest on my original before upgrading and then with the new iPhone 4 from the exact same spot in my house. Original averaged 50 - 100kbs download. iPhone 4 averaged 1200-1500kbs. Web pages loaded much faster.
Maps/Compass: The true GPS is great to know exactly where you are. The original iPhone "fake GPS" maps was not very accurate. There are many free apps that use the GPS. There was a Geo-caching app to track down things people had placed -- fun to do. There are apps you can use to track your route and how far you have gone (great for hiking, bike riding).
Rear Camera: Rear camera is a huge improvement over original. Having a flash really helps. With the new HDR feature in iOS 4.1 coming out, the photos will look even better.
Video -- the video from the rear camera was also good. Not going to replace my dedicated video camera, but produces good quality video when I need it.
Front Camera: didn't get a chance to use FaceTime. This will be better once there are more users. Hopefully Apple will integrate it with all the MacBooks so I can FaceTime to home / family computers.
Retina Display: was clearer, but there seemed to be more hype on this than the actual difference (at least for my eyes).
Multi-Tasking: I definitely miss this already. Very easy to move between apps. Much quicker to navigate.
Folders: I also miss this. Again, much easier to organize apps and get to them quicker.
Tethering: I was lucky enough to get the HandyLight app for the few hours it was up on iTunes. It worked well for tethering my MacBook Pro to the iPhone. I will stay with the unlimited data plan and use this app for the infrequent tethering I may need to do.
Overall speed of launching apps, moving between screens was faster, and typing was faster on iPhone 4. I never noticed the delay on my original iPhone as much until I switched back to it. Especially the lag when typing -- I sometimes type 2-3 letters and then have to wait a second or 2 for it to show up.
    iPhone 4 Cons:
I did find a few times where data would stop working on the 3G network -- never had that problem when on Edge network in same location. Was most likely an issue with AT&T network being overwhelmed vs a phone issue.
Antenna: I always use a case -- afraid to drop it and crack the screen. If I took off the case and held my finger/hand over the antenna gap then I would get a significant drop in signal. At my home, I ran the speedtest covering the antenna -- the download speeds would drop to almost 0kbs. Put the case back on and my data downloads were fine. I also tried leaving the case off and covering the gap with carefully cut Scotch tape -- this also worked fine in solving the problem.
I decided to try this with my original iPhone -- took off the case and covered the lower plastic section. Results were similar -- data dropped to almost nothing.
Final note - Data usage. I was averaging 200 - 250mb per month on my original iPhone. In the first week I had used about 1GB on the iPhone 4. I was using it a lot more, using GPS/Maps more, running Speedtest frequently, etc. Since webpages load faster, I was doing more internet browsing. I would recommend staying with the unlimited data plan when you upgrade.
Hope this helps. iPhone 4 is great and I can't wait to re-purchase it in a month. Either they will have made a minor adjustment (insulated antenna, clear coat finish over antenna) or I will re-purchase it as is. I felt it was worth a couple month wait to protect my phone investment.

  • How can you tell a Fake iPhone or iPod Touch before buying?

    Hello Gurus-
This Christmas I decided to get an iPod Touch 2G 32 gb. In shopping around and doing some comparisons, I decided I also wanted to get an iPhone. Now, like anyone, I want to get the best deal. So I have been looking around at Touches and iPhones. There are a lot of brand new touches on Ebay coming from people in India, Sri Lanka, etc. and I was keeping an eye out. I have also been looking at iPhones on ebay, because although I don't mind paying 300+ for a touch, I can't justify paying an additional 500+ for an iPhone. So, I was hoping to find a used one that someone didn't want anymore. Well, yesterday, as I was surfing the net, I came across a web site that sells all these "iPod Touch" and "iPhone"s, obviously to resellers as they are in bulk. The ads they offer are exactly the same as the ads on ebay, but in a garbled note at the bottom they say "x.ffyes, not no real.Fake" So, what I was hoping someone can tell me is how you can know an iPod Touch or iPhone is real before you buy? I am sure there are plenty of ligit people out there that just want to sell their used phone for any number of reasons. How can I weed them out from the clones and fakes? Thanks so much for your help.

I assume you are not in USA and there are a lot of iPhones outside USA that have been unlocked unofficially and they turn into a brick if you upgrade to 2.2. If it works with 2.2 then it probably is a real unlocked iPhone.
Just pay the 500euro and buy an officially unlocked one from Apple official retailers in the countries that have that. (France, Belgium, HongKong, Australia to name a few) It's worth it.

  • Would like to ask if this is an indicator of a fake iPhone 4S

Hi, I have a 64gb iPhone 4s. And I noticed at the back, after the line "Designed by Apple in California", it followed by two lines of Chinese characters (I think) with A1387 in it. Below those is a logo (can't really describe what it looks like), and below the logo is a alphanumeric series that starts with CCA. Is this fake? Thanks!

Mac and Mac models are picky about the RAM the Mac needs to see and use.
As you have found out, the 1067 speed RAM will not work in your year and model iMac.
You need the 1333 speed RAM.
If, you can return the RAM for a refund, do it!
If not, try online Mac RAM source and seller Crucial memory. They have a table that matches your Mac to the correct and reliable RAM. You may need to contact them to see whether or not they ship to South Africa, though.
If Crucial dpesn't work out, here's the specs for your year and model iMac that you need to seek out and purchase.
    Maximum Memory
32 GB (Actual) 16 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    4 - 204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    Good Luck!

  • Original and fake iPhone 5S

How do i differentiate, how do i differentiate between original and fake iPhone 5S

Buy your iPhone 5s from Apple itself, or from a well known, established Apple Authorized Reseller (ALL of which can be searched for and found on the Apple web site - anyone not listed there is NOT an Apple Authorized reseller, regardless of what they tell you).
    see http://www.apple.com/buy/
If you buy from a reliable source, you will not get scammed.
Buy from anywhere or anyone else, and you take your chances on what you actually get.

  • HT3939 Fake Iphone or Authorized by Apple

I am from Doha Qatar. I am sending this email to get some help from you to be sure about apple Iphone 5 that I bought in Qatar; however I am not online customer of apple yet.
I bought apple Iphone 5 Black in March 2013 and apple Iphone 5 white in March 2014 (exactly after 1 year). I get to know some noticeable difference between two sets as follows and I got confused that either both are original apple Iphone or not. Please help me on this issue.
Outside looks is almost same except color & (light point near speaker).
The box (Cartoon) or white one is quite bigger than the black one.
Headphones for white one is with hard cable than the Black one and structure also looks difference (one long and another short).
The quality of sound in headphone is quite better in headphones provided with black one than the white one.
USB cable (Charging) for white one is shorter & harder than the black one.
USB plug (to connect electricity) are difference in both (white is with 3 pins and Black is with 2 pins).
Please help me with this issue if both phones are original apple product and authorized by apple or not . I bought both phones from same shop in difference of one year. If required I can send the picture of both phones and other necessary document for verification.

Your white one sounds like a fake. On the headphones see if there's a "Made in Cupertino" or something like it stamped somewhere on the cables. Also the charger should only have 2 prongs. Most headphones and cables for iPhones are on the softer side never hard to the touch. The accessories could be fake bit the phone could still be real. It would be difficult to tell without a thorough inspection

  • May I know how to prevent my iPhone from using data? [I've tried fake APN]

    Greetings.
I'd like to see the help of the community, for this problem has persisted for a month plus. Being unable to use my prepaid credit and having it deducted for no reason can be a little frustrating.
So here's what I've done so far.
    1. I've updated my iPhone 2G to the latest iOS, the 3.1.3
    2. I've googled my problem and found a few solutions (like iphonenodata.com and unlockit.co.nz) however they were of no help to me.
    3. I've called my carrier, and they've helped me blacklist my number under GPRS to prevent cellular data usage, however the problem still persisted. To my surprise.
So, my question is.. why is it that the problem persists after having to take so many actions? I've noticed on the blog on which I found the information regarding the iphonenodata.com that some users still have this problem even after installing it.
Is it because the fake APN does not work for iPhones with iOS 3.1.3?
Are there any known solutions to preventing cellular data usage for iPhone 2G with iOS 3.1.3?
Please help me, thank you very much for your time.
Btw, I live in Malaysia. Just in case the carriers in other countries can actually fix this problem.
P/s : I know for a fact that this is a common problem and that the community may even be exasperated by how many people who'd actually start a new thread and all, but I do ask of you to take 5 minutes just to help me out? (: it will be very much appreciated.

    Thank you for the replies.
Yes Michael. It is still deducting data charges despite the fact that they've told me they have disabled cellular data access. My previous carrier (I've switched carriers, just to try my luck.) even had an investigation team for my case, however, the solution that they came up with was to refund my credit deducted (which they claimed was only RM2.10, but I didn't make a big fuss about it) so that I can monitor my prepaid credit for any further data charges. The minute they refunded the amount, instantly RM1.80 was deducted. It was deducted so fast that I didn't even get to see my credit go up to RM2.10, it was instantly RM0.30.
I'll make a call to my carrier tomorrow regarding this issue. My previous carrier couldn't solve the problem, and didn't do any follow-ups. However, in the event that they cannot help me, what do you suggest I do?
    Thanks again for your replies.

Egit one, i asked for the serial number by checking the settings of her phone. After geting the serial nu,ber, i entered it in apple's site to verify. I was kinda surprised since the phone that appeared was 5s instead of 5c. I asked my aunt what's the color of her phone and she said it's green. So could this be a fake iphone phone?

If the warranty is showing less than 12 months ,the iPhone has already been activated ,so yes most likely secondhand

  • Green battery on top right of iPhone 4s lock screen, is it fake or normal one? It isn't charging.

My dad bought an "iPhone 4s" in Greece. He showed it to me on Skype. He showed me the box, there is an "AT&T" and a price sticker, and the "4s" on the side of the box is highlighted with black which I think that it isn't highlighted. When he showed me the phone, the lock screen has a green battery icon on top right of the lock screen, which is normally white. In my case, the battery was like the battery on "settings". I wanna know if it is normal or fake. Thanks.
