Hello.
I have just got a new iPhone 5.

  • How apple support my iphone who ever my serial is replaced and  how i know my iphone is refurbished  ??

Hi everyone! I have iphone 4s, which was my friends bought it from canada appstore about 1 month before and has serial number DQ*******TDD and IMEI ****. When i try to check warranty on the page https://selfsolve.apple.com/wcResults.do i see
We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us.
And if i try to enter IMEI here i see
Our records indicate that this product has been replaced. Please provide the serial number for your replacement product to find the support and warranty coverage information. For more information, please contact us.
Does it means, that I was bought a non exist iPhone? Or it was refurbished? I need an official answer to take them to seller because I was bought iPhone as a new.
How I know my iphone is  refurbished?
    Thank you.
answers that i folow up and find are :
    - Did you purchase the device from Apple or an authorized reseller? If not, then you were scammed.
    - It means you bought a gray market phone that was replaced, reported lost, or reported stolen, then re-sold illegally. It has no warranty and Apple will not service it with an out of warranty replacement.
    - If your phone was replaced, it was most likely refurbished.
    - You cannot tell the difference between a refurbished phone and a new one.
    - check your serial number if its starts with 5K then its refurbished model
Not true. All it does is identify it as 'service stock'. It may be refurbised, or it may be new. There is no way for you, or even someone at an Apple Store, to tell the difference.
6 - You bought a phone that was stolen, lost, or taken in for repair and then re-sold illegally. get your money back if you can.
If there is ever a hardware problem that requires service, you will most likely not be able to get it serviced or replaced by Apple.
7- During the refurbishment process the devices are assigned a new serial number.
8- This means that your iPhone was replaced by Apple and you entered the serial number for your old iPhone which was replaced.
9- That means that particular phone has been replaced under warranty. Where did you get the phone from? If it was used, the previous owner may have had it replaced and not returned it to Apple as they were supposed to and sold it.
10-  Interpreting what you postd, it would seem you had the device replaced at some earlier stage.  Apple doesn't repair but instead replaces the whole unit with a refurbished unit which has its own serial number. Whatever the case, you will have to see Apple about the matter.
11-  white box (new) or a brown box (refurb)
    now my questions :
how i know my iphone is refurbished and how apple support my iphone who ever my serial is replaced ??

How can I know my device is refurbished or new one??Can I check my device is refurbished or new with serial number?

  • Is my replacement iPhone 5 refurbished?

I had my iPhone 5 since it came out. I took really could care of it, but recently I had an issue with it and the Apple Genius told me they would replace the device as I had applecare. I asked the genuis whether the replacement would be a refurb to which he replied no and assured me that Apple doesn't replace iPhone's refurbed. However after coming home and searching online, I found out that Apple MAY replace your device with a refurb. I did a serial number decoding on the Chipmunk site or whatever and the iPhone I currently have was made in February 2014. Can this mean that it was remanufactured on February 2014? Thoughts? I am extremely upset that I may have been lied too, and honestly I would not have gone through the replacement if I knew the phone could be a refurb.

Well, I paid $700 for the phone and I dont expect it to be a broken phone. I do not now where its been or who had it.
Neither does Apple that is why they get refurbished.
And why do you say refurbished phones are better than new?
It hs already been thru an inspection (when it was first built).
Then parts are replaced and it is completely reinspected. There are people who will not buy anything brand new and only buy refurbished.

  • IPhone 4s refurbished question

I have had my iPhone4s for under a year & today my power button got stuck. I booked an appointment, but I was wondering, if they were to give me an refurbished iPhone, can I refuse & ask for mine to be fixed?
But if they can't fix it, will I have to pay for a refurbished iPhone? I am also still under warranty!

If it is a problem covered under the warranty, no.

  • Unlock carrier locked iPhone(perhaps refurbished

    Hello,
    I've purchased a used iPhone 3GS 16gb 2 years ago.
The person selling the phone said that it was carrier locked to 3 in Denmark but it turned out that it was possible to use it with 3 in Sweden( where I live) as well. However when restoring it I need to start it up with a pre-paid 3 sim-card from Denmark, after that the Swedish one works fine.
Since the 2 year time period for unlocking must have expired I now thought about unlocking it, however when I contacted 3 in Denmark they couldn't find the IMEI number in their system...
So my question is could this be a refurbished phone? If so how can you then unlock it if the carrier can't find the IMEI number in their systems?

That may be because you have a Swedish sim in the iPhone ( if I followed your changes correctly )
All carriers need to see the iPhone active on their system before they can unlock
Must admit I haven't come across any time limit for unlocking
put the Danish sim in use it in or by the  Danish mainland and they will then probably see it

  • About getting iphone 6 refurbished .

I bought iphone 6 in Japan which is unlocked
and now I need to move to Hong Kong soon.
so, later if I need to get my iphone refurbished, is it possible to get it in HK?
I know ipad can be refurbished in other country I already did it last time.
but I don't know about iphone.
    Please answer it. thanks~

iPhone warranty is valid only in country of original purchase. You will
have to return the iPhone to Japan for evaluation/service/repair. You
will have to bring it to Apple Japan personally or via friend/relative/co-worker.
Apple will not accept international shipments for evaluation/repair nor
will Apple Japan ship to HK after repair/replacement.
If this would be a problem for you, sell the Japanese iPhone while still
in Japan and buy a new iPhone in HK when you get there.

  • Iphone 4 refurbish

I bought an unlocked iPhone 4 in US last August. Over time, the phone got some dents as I dropped it several times, and even though I know I can use it without any problem except the aesthetic ones, I just want to know how much I should pay (or pay none?) if I want to refurbish it.
    1. Is there any difference between unlocked / locked iPhone 4 when it comes to refurb?
    2. Now it's about 5 months since I bought this iPhone... when does the warranty ends? Is the warranty related to refurb? If so, how?
    3. Since this case is not due to Apple's software problem, I expect I should pay extra for refurbishing. If it's just few dents, how much Apple usually claims for the refurbished iPhone?
    4. Should I go to the shop where I bought the iPhone? Or, can I ask about this matter to any local retailer? (Now I'm in South Korea, can I just go to any Apple shop in Korea to refurb?)
I'll wait for reply. Thank you.

    1)  Yes.  They would be the same as any otehr iphone.  You would need to buy an unlocked one
    2) New iphones have a one year warranty.  As with any warranty on any product, damage is not covered - only manufacturer defect.  Warranty would have nothing to do with your issue.
    3) You can buy a replacementin the U.S for ( you can go to the link and check for other countries. :

  • Will my replacement iphone be refurbished?

my iphone bent and i was wondering if i will get a brand new one or not.

Generally replacement phones are refurbished, however there is no real way to tell if they are new or refurbished. It really doesn't matter. It is an iPhone.

  • Iphone 5 refurbished, will I be forced to update IOS?

My iPhone 5 has IOS 6.1.2 installed on it and the power button has stopped working. It is being replaced under warranty. When I set the replacement phone up from the restore from my original phone will I be able to install the same IOS (6.1.2) or will I be forced into IOS 7?

well, you point out a common complaint-in which i totally agree. i dont really have an answer insomuch as you point out the "solution" /dilemma. i hate this about Apple and their updates. i was fine with current ios for ipad. the new 7 is a battery hog and somewhat memeory hog too. ihad had a few crashes already and some apps are unstable as it's so new. and it's odd to me that it takes longer to recharge the battery. there's other things like apps that seemingly open and close quickly… for some reason this is by design. and it's actually causing motion sickness in some ppl.
and god forbid u can easily change font size in a safari email!
guess this is what keeps IT ppl with a job…
my advice today is do NOT upgrade IF u can stand it.

I've checked with Apple.  They only give 28Days warranty now  :'(
Whoever told you that is wrong. The warranty on a repair or replacement iPhone is still 90 days minimum. Quoting from their Service FAQ:
If defects arise as a result of service, Apple will cover the repair for the remaining term of the iPhone's warranty or 90 days after iPhone service, whichever provides longer coverage for you.
Call Apple Support and discuss your problem with them. If they agree that it's a hardware problem, they can arrange for mail-in service.

  • I was sold a refurbished Iphone 4 with 8 days talk time on it without being told, and Apple said it doesn't approve of that, help! What should I do? It was purchased at Wireless Wave

I purchased a "new" iphone 4 after my first one was dropped in some water. I paid around $580. 4 days later, my wet iphone started working again, so I was pretty happy I could return the new one. When I went to the wireless wave location, they said there had to be less than thirty minutes talk time for it to be returned; no problem! Big problem! I had only owned the phone for 6 days, but there was 8 DAYS of TALK TIME on the phone in total! It wasn't even mathematically possible! The manager was more worried about whether or not I had actually used it for the 30 minutes. He couldn't have cared less that I had obviously paid full price for someone elses discarded cell phone without knowing it! I need some advice on how to handle this! I called an Apple location and they said they do NOT condone selling any refurbished Iphone products and were not aware of this. I sent an email to apple's legal email, but honestly I am just so frusturated. I tried contacting wireless wave, but obviously they don't want to talk to me. I was given no explanation at the time of return as to why there would be 8 days of talk time on a "brand new" iphone 4. They were actually trying to call my provider and make sure I hadn't used it for more than the allotted time. I was given a refund after just about losing my cool on the poor guy working there. He was in fact very nice and very understanding, but could offer no help besides giving me a refund.  My husband and I have purchased many phones from the certain wireless wave location, and I can't help but wonder how many other used products we have purchased!

It's not an Apple issue and Apple has nothing to do with it.
The only way to buy an iPhone officially refurbished by Apple is to buy it from an Apple store or via Apple's website.
Refurbished iPhones sold via other retailers are not refurbished by Apple.
Sounds like Wireless Wave did all they could... they refunded your money.
Your only issue is with them.  Stop getting all worked up over it.

  • My iPhone had blue stickers inside when I had the battery replaced. Is my phone a refurbished model?

I have been having battery problems lately and my friend fixes iPhones. He told me he would install a new battery for me. When he opened the phone, he noticed 2 blue stickers with the number 15 on them and a fingerprint on the screen. He said the only time he has seen something like this is on a refurbished phone. I bought my phone new in 2012 and have never had any work done on it before. Is there anyway I can find out if my phone was refurbished?

I bought my phone new in 2012
Apple sells new iPhones, and refurbished ones. Legitimate non-Apple vendors will sell new or used iPhones. Therefore if yours was not refurbished it was either new or used. A refurbished iPhone will most certainly not have any fingerprints on the screen.
It hardly matters any more though, if your friend opened the iPhone, Apple will no longer touch it.

  • Is it possible that my refurbished iphone 5 could have a different IMEI to the original one printed on the back of the phone?

I found an iPhone with the same type of scratch marks as mine being sold ten minutes away from my house on eBay. I had lost it in the area previously. It had all the same specs, colour, is locked to my network and is blocked as I did with mine after reporting it. The police confiscated it as a stolen phone anyway, but I haven't been able to prove its mine, as the number on my box doesn't match the IMEI on the phone. So of course it's either a big coincidence or it is my phone and the number the police referenced from it (from the back of the phone) is not the number the phone now goes by. Is this possible at all?
The IMEI I have for the phone is 01****033
It's a black 16gb iPhone 5 refurbished by and locked to three
    Would really appreciate any help.
    Cheers,
    Michael

If you sent the iPhone to Apple to be refurbished, then the iPhone you received back is very likely NOT the phone you sent. Check the paperwork that came with the refurbished unit.
