Is my iphone4 factory unlocked and will it work after i restore it??
i bought an iphone4 from the US,i am using it in India now. the retailer said it is a factory unlocked iphone. i did not jailbreak or unlock it , i even upgraded the phone to 4.3.3. and it is working fine. will it work if i restore it and is it factory unlocked ??
Certainly sounds like an unlocked phone, mine is so I should know. If it was originally from the US it should relock to AT&T but if it is not who is going to complain!

Can you transfer an Kindle e-book from a computer to the ellipsis and will it work after transfer?

You don't really transfer books from one device to another. You simply go to the Kindle store on the device you would like to read the book, look at your Kindle library on that device. If you have already purchased the book on your account, it will be listed in your available books. Simply click on the book and it will start downloading. If you already have the book on your limit of devices it will inform you of that fact. You can simply go to one of your other devices and delete the book from it and then download it on your new device. If you ONLY have the book on your computer and want to download it to a Kindle e-reader, you should have no problem with it being on too many devices, though. -

If the phone has a carrier lock on it, you must contact the carrier to have it removed (you probably need to bring the phone to the carrier for the process). If you don't know the carrier, you won't be able to get it unlocked. US carriers will not remove the carrier lock and it cannot be removed.
How is Safari behaving that makes you say that Safari is not working? The lock status of the phone won't affect Safari, except that if the phone is locked and you aren't using the carrier (and SIM provided by the carrier) to which it is locked, then you can't use the phone or 3G service, only Wi-Fi.
The iPhone should not appear as a drive on your computer, so there's no error there. -

I have purchase an iphone 4 from Los Angeles and the saler has confirmed that this is Factory unlock serial number of the iphone is QR1XXXXTA4S VERSION OF THE PHONE IS 4.3.5.
This is working here at Pakistan with local carier fantastic.
I would like to know that if I will go for update and this will not factory unlock the iphone will lock during the update what is the procedure to identify Factory unlocked and Jailbreak unlocked iphone4

there is no such thing as as a factory unlocked iPhone
there is an iPhone which has not been carrier lock as has
been available outside the US from day one
there is no evidence in OP that he purchased NOT locked from Apple -
Hi guys, I have a problem with imessage. My iphone 4S is factory unlocked and i have been using t-mobile carrier. i tried settings - messages - imessage on but there is this 'waiting for activation' thing. Does anyone know how to solve this?

T-Mobile UK are in fact port blocking to ensure fair usage on their base Web and Walk Plan. I have upgraded to Web and Walk Plus and as a result the port blocks are lifted and I get a higher data allowance!

i bought iphone5s yesterday from apple store at 5th avenue. and the sales agent said to me that they dont carry factory unlocked iphone 5s but they do carry internationally unlocked iphone5s. i am confused! i want to use this phone in canada. so will it work on any carrier in canada as a unlocked phone?? they said to me that when i will come back in U.S with that phone , it will act as a locked iphone and will only work on at&t network. so my question is, is it still unlocked iphone even though i paid $706.06 and will it work in other countries if i use any sim.That's confusing. You might want to ask them what do they mean by that and that what you want is use your Canada SIM card on that iPhone 5S.

I have a factory unlocked Iphone 4S, it worked fine but it was often lossing signal and going into search, I decided to restore, but now can not activate it, a message can not be activated because the server is temporary unavailable try again later, I have tried this for 3 days, any suggestions?
yes did you buy it of somebody or a well known company such as apple or carphone warehouse?
and i mean the phone would have been activated in the first place with the sim card you get given when you first get the phone.
trying to activate the phone with another sim card that you did not get when you brought the phone may result in you not being able to activate it

Read the following in its entirty before doing anything.
Note that a "Restore" could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this. -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
