Is My Line Working OK

Hello There
Juts moved back to BT after a time away from them, after some trouble final cot connected to BT Broadband Option 2.
I have a minor problem that I am not sure whether or not it supposed to work like this or not, can someone please advise.
For posting sake I will call the normal Land Line - Line A and the Broadtalk VoiP Line - Line B
Line A    - Makes Calls Ok
Line B    - Makes Calls OK
Line A    - Received a call - The telephone attached to both Line A and Line B rings
Line B    - Receives calls OK
I sits supposed to work line this or by default is there a divert on the landline to the Voip line or do you think there is a fault - should I report this to BT.
Any help would be appreciated

  • How can I live trace a hand sketch line work and cut from background to apply to new coloured backgr

    I placed a hand drawn scanned photo of artwork to illustrator cs4 in an attempt to trace the lines and remove from paper and add the line drawing to a brochure artwork. this to give illusion of an old artist's manuscript with drawings. first attempt with the psd file in trying to apply trace as a "hand drawn " method crashed illustrator. I tried again and used ink drawing which came out blotchy. Tried simple trace and got a warning that the file was too large. I'm thinking that the drawing itself is very soft and the paper around it is grainy and dim. I had tried to brighten   and lighten in the scan mode.I did get it as far as a trace at one point and used outline stroke but then couln't fill in the lines or cut it out. I have taken it to photoshop and drew a pen selection around the soft lines and used a transparent background on it, hoping to stroke it in illustrator and drag it off over to the brochure template .But didn't try it yet. I also just made the resolution 250 and the size document to 6 x 9 in approx. But now am fearful of another experiemental attempt. Am I on the right track or is there another method to bringing in a line drawing that is not defined well and getting it to trace and remove from it's background to apply onto the illustrator document being worked on. I have done placing and tracing before but not a line work. Any suggestions that won't crash my program would be welcome. As an artist I will want to do this again and again so want to know the proper method or what I am missing. I've been using illustrator for 7 months now.

    Maybe Li[ve trace] is not t]he way[ to go
    I have some suggestion one leave it as is and use a blending mode of multiply to give it a color background like this
    leave it as is make it a grayscale tiff import int Illustrator and color it it in Illustrator like this
    Or trace over it with the brush tool aand then give it a color ground.
    Or do the original over and do a cleaner job with no tone or a minimum of tone. Then Live trace.

  • WHERE Predicate line works in Aqua Data Studio, not in Report Builder

    I’m trying to get a query working in report builder which will pull data back when run in Aqua Data Studio.
    It returns a NULL set when working with the same data source from report builder.
    Here is the WHERE clause:
    --WHERE SYSDATE < :REM_DATE
    -- troubleshooting line (=DateAdd("d", 3, Now()))
    WHERE SYSDATE
    < TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(TPOA.POST_DT,

    'MM/DD/YYYY') +
    3
    AND TPOA.DEST_OTHER
    IS NOT NULL
    AND TPOA.AUTH_STATUS_IND =
    'A'
    The commented line works in Report Builder.  :REM_DATE has as its default expression =DateAdd(“d”, 3, Now()), used as a means of troubleshooting.
    There isn’t a way to populate :REM_DATE before use because forward dependencies aren’t allowed.
    Also tried is this line for the first part of the WHERE:

    Hi Michael,
    What's the version of your Report Builder? When you run the query in query designer of Report Builder, have you got any error/warning message?
    In this case, I would suggest you can try to SQL Server Profiler to capture some events do further investigation while run the query in Report Builder.

  • InDesign line-work exporting

    Hello,
    I'm currently working on my student architecture portfolio through InDesign CC. Several sheets contain line-work PDFs from CAD/Illustrator file links. When exported, the lines become thick and muddy. Any advise on how to keep line weights thin through exporting an interactive PDF from InDesing?
    Thank you,

  • Giving a black and white line work image a transparent background

    I am working in Photoshop CS4 (mac).  Currently, the image is comprised of black line on a white background.  How do I go about giving the image a transparent background?

    A day later, I have still not figured out how to accomplish what it is I am trying to do.
    I have not yet tried what you have suggested in the last post and am about to go at it once again.  I should mention two things.  1. My  goal is to drop this image into InDesign (cs4) when completed. 2. The image has interior space betwen the line work/image itself that I would like to contain transparency.  Not sure if I am being clear here. The issue lies in when I actually drop the image into InDesign.  While the image appears to already have a transparent background, once it is dropped into InDesign, the image then assumes an opaque/white background.

  • UCCE 9.0 Agent Multi-Line Working

    As Agent Multi-Line working is a global parameter on the peripheral. Does any one know whether it is possible to switch off Agent Multi-Line working only for a subset of Agents?
    The first group of agents still want to keep their second line (non-ACD), for voicemail retreval, etc, but do not want to be placed on not ready. Trouble is, I also have Agents (on the same cluster) who want to keep multi-line working together with JAL and want to keep the ability for the second line to place the agent in not ready on the ACD line.
    Cheers

    This is a PG setting, so I don't see a way around it.  It's all agents or none.

  • Separating line work from background from Phtshp to Indesign

    Hi there,
    I am creating a document in InDesign, and I want to include the pattern (see below), but I only want the black line work, not the white- is there a way I can remove that cleanly in InDesign? or do I have to do that in Photoshop first? I tried deleting the white in photoshop and then dragging the line work over to InDesign, but the white stayed with it. Any help appreciated- thanks!

    Save in Bitmap Mode in Photoshop and PLACE, don't drag or paste, the image in ID.
    Seems like this would be better as a vector, though. Why not do it in Illustrator instead?

  • Firefox cannot browse the internet until I clear an "OFF LINE WORKING" ITEM FROM THE MENU ?

    How do I clear "off line working?" to allow Firefox to browse the net?

    Presumably you're using FF4 (?).
    If so, do the following.
    * Right click a blank part of the Tab Bar and then click the top option called "Menu Bar". This will remove the orange Firefox button, but reinstate the text links at the top.
    * Next, click "File", then click "Work Offline" to remove the checkmark. You should now have Internet access.
    To reinstate the previous layout, repeat the same steps.

  • Parsing in Weblogic/jsp doesn't work; application-mode (command-line) works

    Hello-
    Parsing my XML file in Weblogic/jsp doesn't work, whereas it works
    in application-mode... (albeit on two different machines)
    Here are the parameters:
    server1:
    weblogic 6.0
    win2k server
    jre1.3
    my personal machine:
    ***no weblogic***
    win2k server
    jre1.3
    When I run my code as an application (command-line style) on my machine,
    parsing in my xml file works fine, and I can do a root.toString() and it
    dumps out the entire xml file, as desired.
    However, running my code inside weblogic (on server1) in JSP, parsing in
    my file and doing a root.toString() results in the following: [dmui: null]
    (where dmui is my root)
    (even though i'm running it on two different machines, i'm positive its the
    same code (the servers share a mapped drive)...
    So, I think its probably because I'm using a different parser, as
    specified by weblogic? There are no exceptions being thrown. Here's my
    (abbreviated) code, which is called either command line style or in a JSP:
    // Imports
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXParseException;
    DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    mDocument = docBuilder.parse (inFile);
    myRoot.toString()
    -END
    Doing a System.getProperty("javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory")
    results in:
    server1 (weblogic/jsp):
    "weblogic.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"
    my machine (application-mode):
    null
    Does anyone have any ideas about how to get this work? Do I try to set it
    up so that they both use the same parser? Do I change the Weblogic parser?
    If so, to what? And how?
    Am I even close?
    Any help would be appreciated..
    Thanks, Clint

    DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    // specify validating or non-validating parser
    dbf.setValidating(true);
    // obtain a factory
    DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
    // create a document from the factory
    inStream = new FileInputStream(xmlFile);
    document = db.parse(inStream);
    }//try
    catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println("Unexpected exception reading document!"
    +e);
    System.exit (0);
    }//catch
    }//BasicDom
    // Main Method
    public static void main (String[] args) {
    if (args.length < 1)
    System.exit(1); file://or you can be more verbose
    new BasicDOM(args[0]);
    }//class
    =============================================
    That will give you a basic DOM you can manipulate and parse it fromthere.
    BTW this code
    compiled and ran on WLS 6.0 under Windows 2000.
    Let me know if this helped or you still are having trouble.

    of code
    in, including the imports, it fails giving me an error listed above inthe

    Hi, Rob
    Does it work in WL9.2?
    It seems I do it exactly as the explained at http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/programming/classloading.html - and it fails :o(.
    I try to run my app.ear with WL9.2 There are 2 components in it: webapp and mdb. The webapp/WEB-INF contains weblogic.xml:
    <weblogic-web-app>
    <container-descriptor>
    <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
    </container-descriptor>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    Mdb is expected to run in the same mode, i.e. to prefer the webapp/WEB-INF/*.jar over the parent Weblogic classloader. To do so I add the weblogic-application.xml to the app.ear!/META-INF:
    <weblogic-application>
    <classloader-structure>
    <module-ref>
    <!-- reminder: this webapp contains
    prefer-web-inf-classes -->
    <module-uri>webapp</module-uri>
    </module-ref>
    <classloader-structure>
    <module-ref>
    <module-uri>mdb.jar</module-uri>
    </module-ref>
    </classloader-structure>
    </classloader-structure>
    </weblogic-application>
    Now, when classloader-structure specified, both webabb and mdb prefer the weblogic root loader as if prefer-web-inf-classes not defined at all.

  • Unable to get phone line working - next appointmen...

    Hi
    I moved home a few day before Christmas and the phone and broadband were due to be activated on the 7th January which was fully understandable.
    Nothing happened on that day so after calling the helpdesk I was told it should be done on the 9th.
    On the 9th , for a while we had a dial tone but not able to make any calls as if it wasnt fully activated.
    After waiting a further 24 hours I spent ages trying to get a straight answer from India without success. they kept saying there was an issue at the exchange but could not clarify the full issue. They were on hold themselves trying to get to BT openreach.
    We have now lost the dial tone and all it says is 'check phone line'
    I have chased them again since without any real outcome.
    The helpdesk called me yesterday to say I need to re-book an exchange engineer and the first available date is over a month away!
    After a lot of pushing they finally admitted that the delay has been caused by the need to get traffic lights installed to allow the engineer to get to the roadside junction box.  I'm not entirely sure where this box is but I have found one within 500 yards of my home and there is certainly no need for lights as te van can be parked on the grass verge. I have a screen gra from Google earth to back this up.
    I would really appeciate some help in getting to the bottom of this matter as I feel I am being fobbed off.

  • Long wait until activation, but phone line works f...

    I ordered a phone line for my new apartment about 2 weeks ago and was given an installation date of 7 June. I then received an email on 29 May telling me that my services had been set up and my phone line has been working fine since then. On the same day I also received an email telling me that my installation had been postponed until 16 June, but like I said, the line was already working fine. Is there any way to speed up this process so I can finally order broadband, as my number isn't showing up in any of the databases?

    Hi Robp,
    Thanks for posting. I can check what's going on with the installation if you want. Drop me an email with the details to [email protected] and I'll take a look.

  • Mail bounces when sent from command-line, works from PHPMailer, Mail.app

    Recently, any mail send from the command-line (manually, or via automated scripts) is getting rejected. However, messages composed with, say, PHPMailer are getting through. One thing I notice about the bounced messages is that there's no user/sender recorded. Here's a snippet of the log:

    The failure reason given "mail for ... loops back to myself" doesn't seem right, since I haven't changed the DNS settings on this machine.
    You'll notice, the message that is sent has the from= address specified, whereas the other two failed examples don't... I'm not really sure why this is failing all of a sudden. Telus, one of our ISPs, is infamous for quietly making major network policy changes (e.g., blocking port 25 for all outgoing business customers). Any suggestions, or a link to a good SMTP mail server (a la OS X server) tutorial would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Can you explain why you need any zones in your DNS apart from your own?
    OK, I read a previous post from you which explains your internal setup (mini & xserve), so you are using internal domains for web stuff with your local DNS based on your xserve. I presume your mini is using the xserve for DNS? So although I am not entirely clear about everything that is going on, I'll presume you do need these domains in your xserve...
    Yes, that's all correct. The Xserve does runs DNS, Web and Mail Services, the Mini just runs a couple web sites (on port 8080, fwiw).
    If an external mail server is responsible for a domain which you have in your internal DNS then you have to mirror the public MX records in your local DNS. How MX records work...
    This is what I've done in the DNS Services, I believe...
    For the domain gpspolice.net, your mini will ask your xserve for the MX record. This will resolve to a host name - in the public DNS this is "mail.gpspolice.net". Your mini will then ask your xserve to resolve this host name - in the public DNS this is "209.200.253.29". So ideally, you should have these two records (MX record= mail.gpspolice.net, plus "A" record for mail.gpspolice.net = 209.200.253.29) in your xserve dns. You may get away with using a different MX host name as long as the final IP is the same but better if exactly mirrors public DNS records.

  • How does enhance thin line work on Adobe reader X?

    Hi there,
    I noticed a display difference between different PDF readers. Especially in the rendering of thin line weights and widths and after a little research I discovered that Adobe reader X has a option called "enhance thin line", which when turned on (turned on by default) it seems to thicken/enbolden the thin lines.
    Option is under "Edit->Preferences->Display->Enhance thin line
    Opening these in a different PDF reader like PDFill you notice the same lines are thin by default and I assume this is how the drawing creator originally intended the viewer to see it.
    My question is, is this setting only affect the electronic display? i.e. monitors and laptops screens or does this setting also affect the output print?
    Also how does the Adobe reader decide which lines to articifically increase and which ones to leave alone and also by what level does it increase the lines to?
    Does the reader parse the file and checks for any line widths that are for example less than 0.5 in width and then add .2 to all these lines?
    Many questions I know but I just hope someone has some answers
    Many thanks in advance.

    Been searching around the internet but still can't find a answer, can anybody help?

  • How does BT leased line work?

    I mean, BT Infinity is Exchange, Cabinet then to your home but the line between the cabinet then exchange is obviously shared with other users. Is BTs leased lines a fibre optic line straight from the exchange into your home? And can you even have BT leased line foir a home or is it only for a business

    You can get a fibre optic leased line from many ISP's prepared you are willing to pay the price.
    Due to the cost per year it is only usually companies who have them. They are totally different to residential FTTP or FOD offerings have a different SLA and provide minimum guaranteed service.
    A simple Google search for "fibre optic leased line" will lead you to the companies that provide them.
    Be prepared to pay thousands for the install and yearly cost. If you have money to burn it is the way to go.
