Can you be infected with the OSX Flashback-8 malware with OSX 10.8.5?

So I have a iMac that i bought during the Snow Leapord OSX period. Today I happened to find out that it was infected with the Flashback 8 malware that ClamXav detected. I did all the removal instructions by downoading the software updates. Something tbh I shouldve done ages ago. To cut to the point, I also have a Macbook that i bought 2 months ago with Mountain Lion ofcourse, can that Flashback malware effect any computers with Mountain Lion or any Mac after the update Apple released that removes the malware? If so what updates are there for people who bought Macbooks or Desktops after the update was released?

Back in the Spring of 2011 Dr. Web and Kaspersky estimated that over 600,000 Macs were infected through the Flashback backdoor and at least being re-directed to advertising sites. There were theories that other functions could be downloaded into infected Macs, but at the time nothing else was found to be occurring. Most of the infected Macs in the resulting Flashback botnet were disinfected through various means, including the afore mentioned Apple MRT that was distributed with each new Security and Java update.
Intego owns one of the servers and periodically monitors the network for infected Macs that check in to see what they should be doing. Back in January they estimated that there were still 22K infected Macs checking in.
Their expressed concern (they are trying to sell software) was that some malware gang would take over the botnet when current licenses expire next year and use the network in some way.
Why there are still that many infected Macs out there is anybody's guess. I suppose there could be that many users who haven't kept their OS up-to-date. It's possible that some of the WordPress blog sites that were used to initially infect Macs were never cleaned up, so any user with Java turned on in their browser visiting one of those sites could still be newly infected. In those cases, only the communications module would have been installed, so they aren't fully infected nor would they even be registered as having been infected, but would still be trying to check a server.

There are known technical issues with any older version on Yosemite, even CS6. Some can be worked out, others may not be relevant to you, some will remain unsolved.

It contains some issues that people have encountered with Lion and Office 2008. It appears it can work, but you may have to go through some of the steps a few of the posters there have listed.

This recently happened to me. I am a novice, but it seemed like that project got corrupted some how.
I deleted it.
Went to time machine and picked it up again when I knew it was working ok.
I lost a few hours of work, but not the entire project.
Once I had the project back from time machine, it worked fine (but like I said, I lost a little bit of work).

Make a backup of your computer first before doing any updates. In rare but unfortunate cases an update seems to result (from what the people posting here say) in libraries being deleted. Then too, sometimes people update and discover they really don't like the new version. Downgrading without a backup is difficult. In the long run you can't avoid going to a newer version but I, for example, have been running the same iTunes version for 7 years now so it is possible to hang on.
You also don't provide details about your MacBook which includes many models. If you are truly old school you could even be running a MacBook that can't update to the newest, or at least may require other software or hardware upgrades. Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

Historically Apple have generally used 5400rpm hard disk drives and while the detailed information on the Apple store does not definitively say what speed hard disk the 1TB Fusion drive includes, it does make mention of testing conducted with a 5400rpm drive.
Therefore I think we can safely assume it does come with a 5400rpm 1TB hard disk. However this is not necessarily as bad as it sounds, the whole point of a Fusion drive is to automatically off-load the most commonly used files to the much faster 128GB SSD portion of the Fusion drive so overall you should get performance better than even a 7200rpm hard disk.
Finally, as far as I can see for the Mac mini it does not matter which speed model you buy they will all come with the same 1TB drive model if you chose a 1TB capacity, so the 3.0GHz Dual Core i7, 2.8GHz Dual Core i7, and 2.6GHz Dual Core i5 will all have a 5400rpm 1TB hard disk.

It depends on what iMac you have. If it is an old PPC (G4 orG5) iMac then no further upgrades are possible. If it an Intel iMac:

If you check songs, simply sync the entire library.
But I highly recommend (and it is far simpler) to create a playlist (or multiple playlists) and select only that playlist to sync.
Leave everything checked.
Then simply add/remove from these playlists and sync away.
