Is my nano ruining my computer?
Often when I plug in my nano to my labtop, things seem to run slower, and if I plug in my ipod nano when the computer is starting up, it will freeze and not fully start up. When I plugged my nano into a different computer, the computer got all wack, and no programs would open. Eventually the computer froze. When I unplugged my nano, things went back to normal. I am wondering is my nano ruining my computer? Help me please!
A labtop is a roof over a science experiment room.
A laptop is a computer you can use on your lap.
Try setting the drive letter for the iPod to a different letter.

ThanksUninstalling and reinstalling iTunes has no affect on the media on the computer or the account it is linked to.
If the media was purchased under another iTunes account, then it is permanently tied to that account.

I am unable to sync my iPod nano to my computer or iTunes, What am i missing?
Hello Badger59,
I would be concerned too if my iPod was not recognized by iTunes or my computer. I recommend the following article for the issue you described:
iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

I had to download firefox in order to access school resources. I opted to perform the advanced setup as there are a few features I didnt want. I specified in the setup that i didnt want any toolbars. basically, i opted out of everything except for the installation itself. Now that firefox has been installed, I not only have toolbars, even in other browsers, which i specifically unchecked during the installation, but they are impossible to remove. I have tried toolbar options. The option to remove doesnt exist. I have tried to uninstall the toolbar. Again, not possible. In addition, I now have popups every time I do ANYTHING on the internet. Even when not using firefox. And in addition to THAT, my computer has slowed to a dead crawl. Even when i uninstall firefox, all the terrible features remain! This browser has ruined my computer. And ironically, the toolbar I never wanted ALWAYS has an advertisement for "clean up your computer" or "Repair CP issues" or "speed up your computer" and etc. So, what now?
Looks like your computer was infected by a virus, and unless it targeted an security gap in the browser, that has nothing to do with firefox.
Your best bet would be to run some malware scans. Malwarebytes is great. -
More than 1 nano on same computer
how do we keep each nano's downloads separate?
is there away to download an item from one nano to another?Hello there,
There are several different methods for handling multiple iPods with one computer. I would recommend checking out this Apple support document that explains and provides step-by-step instructions for each method.
[How to use multiple iPods with one computer|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495]
As to the second question, it depends on how you manage the two nanos on your computer (what method you choose from above). The most you will have to do is make sure that if you are using two separate libraries that the song is in each in order to get it onto both nanos.
Hope this helped.

I downloaded something called MPlayerX and it is ruining my computer (a macbook pro) and now on safari theres pop up adds that shouldn't be there and on the google homepage theres adds. I want to know how to fix this and get rid of MPlayerX PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
MPlayerX isn't itself the problem; it was downloaded from a source that packaged adware with it. Click here and follow the instructions, or if desired, run Adware Medic.

whenever i connect my ipod nano to my computer, itunes gives me a pop-up that says, "an ipod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect then reconnect the ipod, then try again." when i do that, i get the same pop-up. beneath the pop-up stated before it also says "If the problem persists, uninstall Itunes, then install Itunes again." but after doing that, it still will not read my ipod and scan it in.
Does the Apple ID on the iPod match the Apple ID on iTunes?

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Two Different Generation IPod Nanos and one Computer
Okay so my boyfriend and I have two different geneeration IPod Nanos and one computer.. does it affect either device's performance ? and is it possible to have itunes setup so that he can have he's music sync to he's Ipod and vice ver sa without having any hassle? .. does this make any sence?
In your case it is most likely a drive letter confusion issue. Take a look at the following article and see if the steps help fix your issue:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear -
i had itunes on my computer and downloaded a bunch of songs to my nano. however my computer crashed! so i got a new one. when i download itunes again and connect my nano to it, how do i prevent the itunes from ERASING all my music on the nano?
When you connect your iPod, open iTunes, and press and hold the Ctrl + Shift keys on your keyboard for about 20-30 seconds. This prevents iTunes from automatically syncing with your iPod and deleting all the content off of it.
Then, iTunes might display a message saying that your iPod is connected to another iTunes library, would you like to Sync and Erase? Be sure to NOT select the option to erase the content off your iPod.

HT1689 Can I sync my iPod Touch with my older iPod Nano without a computer?
Can I sync my iPod Touch with my older iPod Nano without a computer?
Keep in mind that you can't drag and drop (transfer) songs from one iPod to another using iTunes either. The music you want to add from one iPod to the other, must be stored in your iTunes library first.
