Dont get me wrong, I'm so enjoying the ipad bought for me as a present, but is there a simple quick way to see that its the newest type?

Look at the keyboard - do you see a microphone on the bottom next to the space bar? If not, can you add it (Settings - General - Keyboard - Dictation option)? If there is a dictation option, it's a new iPad.
Check the model number (Settings - General - Model) and enter it at this site.

What's new in the latest itunes user agreement

This has bugged me for years and Finally it gets in the news that people don't know what they are agreeing too.
Nobody want's to (or needs to) read through the whole aggreement every time it is changed.
Does anybody know if Apple or a third party site lists what new things we are agreeing to?

Apple has not explained why, so nobody here could tell you for sure. Perhaps to keep it in line with naming polices for computers (all iMacs are iMacs, all MacBook Airs are MacBook Airs) rather than the iPhone.

New ipad the TV adverts show a Paint program

Hi, in the UK here, they are advertising the new iPad on the TV, one of the clips of the advert show a Paint program being used to draw fine lines of colour by wiping the screen with a finger, does anybody know the name of this program ?, and is it avaialble for the iPad2 ?. Please.
We dont really want to upgrade to the new model iPad, BUT if it is the only way to use this Paint program, i might just have to get one !!!, for my better half !!!

AirPlay fails on embeded youtube video (livestream) from New iPad to Latest gen AppleTV.

I just purchased a new Apple Tv (03/24/2014) and tried to airplay an embeded youtube video from Safari and Chrome on my iPad and received an error. Airplay is working fine from the youtube app, and other apps as well. I've done some poking around and wasn't able to find any concrete answers as to why it's not working. Apparently this used to work prior to sometime in August (not sure exactly when) of 2013. Any helo would be much appreciated are this is one of the main reasons I purchased the Apple Tv.

This discusses the issue you are seeing. It seems to be specific to the Youtube app and some embeded videos.
There is no known solution at this time apparently.

When recharging my "new ipad" the transformer gets very hot and it takes 12hrs or more to achieve 100%. Anyone else having this problem? The transformer gets so hot i am afraid it will melt or syart a fire.

If you are using cable that came with your iPad than I suggest going to the nearest Apple Store. This does not seem to be a software issue so I can not help you with that

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.4. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

To upgrade using Wi-Fi:

Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.
