Is my pap2 faulty

Hi
Any pap2 user out there who can answer this question for me?
I think I'm right that the unit has to log into the SIP server to get a dial tone but I should still be able to dial 4 stars for the IVR menu?
When I plug my phone into the unit it is dead not even any induction. I have checked and tried different cables and different phones but non have any sign of life.
Thanks
Alan

In the manual I have for the PAP2 the power LED is either green or red.  I don't see anything for a blue LED.  Are you able to access the PAP2's ui?  If so try to flash or reflash the latest firmware if you are able to.  Also did you try to reset the PAP2 by using the phone and dailing 80# then hang up?  That is supports to act just like the reset button on a router.  In the manual I have it said if you have the wrong power adaptor connected to the PAP2 the power LED maynot light up or be red but nothing about blue.  I think if the reset or firmware are a no-go it may be defective.

  • Lack of customer service etiquette for faulty product

I acquired an Apple MacBook Pro i15 inchi n early 2012 and it performed beautifully until Apple released their latest OS named Mavericks. Upon being advised of Mavericks userbility,I decided to upgrade my OS via Apple's Itunes Store. Suddenly,my machine would not boot up and cuts off during operation. I immediately went to the Apple store, located in NYC Fifth Avenue, only to be informed there would be a surcharge of $310 to repair an hardware issue caused by Apple's software upgrade. Subsequently,an Apple employee followed up with a price compromise of half the original amout stated. My response to Apple is my back up PC which is eight years old has been repaired complimentary free of cost by Sony in the past two (2) years for a faulty battery.
Mark my words Apple,I currently own a $2,000 Apple paperweight and I will never acquire, advise or initiate a friend, foe, associate or colleague to purchase any of your products.
Good luck trying to compete against Amazon's Kindle,Dell's Alienware and last but not least your outsourcing competitor, namely Samsung.(Hint:Their customer service retains their customers) The art of good business is bringing people together.

  • Faulty Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT  - Should I leave computer on?

    Hi All,
I recently began encountering issues with my MacBook Pro, purchased April 2008. Never had any problems before, and a few day ago, I tried to use skype and green vertical lines appeared across the screen and the system froze. I did a hard shut down, re-booted, and saw the vertical lines again. Once again, system froze. When I tried to reboot the next time, there was no start-up chime, no apple logo, just the spinning wheel and system freeze.
I believe that I have the faulty Nvidia video cards that Apple has issued statements/refunds about. However, I am in rural Mexico for the next month and can't bring my computer into the Apple Store until I return to the States.
My computer won't start at all in regular mode, but it will boot in Safe Mode and function pretty normally. It does take a long time to boot up though, each time I do it. So far, I have booted, shut down, and booted again a day later successfully.
I am wondering if it is better for me to leave it on (and plugged in), rather than shutting down and rebooting when I need to use it? I am trying to use it minimally, but still need it sometimes while I'm here. Is it risky to shut it down each time? I am afraid that eventually, it might not boot at all. But, I don't know if it would be worse to leave it on...
    Any advice would be great!
    Thanks so much!

    Hi-
Safe Mode disables graphics drivers and only allows for basic function of display processes.
This basic environment is much less stressful than with drivers and is why the machine will operate properly; the graphics hardware is not "pushed" to work.
I wouldn't worry about turning the machine on and off, or even sleeping, while using Safe Mode.
It does take longer to start, but this is due to system checks, function disabling and system repairs that occur during the startup process in Safe mode.
I would limit use to essentials, turn it on when needed, off for overnight and extended periods, and definitely get it to an Apple repair center as soon as possible.

  • My early 2008 has a faulty  NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPU.

A random day my early 2008 MacbookPro could not turn on its display when i powered it on. I sent it to Apple and they told me that it has a faulty GPU. (and that it was a known issue for the "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT") But there have been 4 years and 4 month since I bought it.
They told me that thay couldn not fix the problem because I bought that Macbook 4 years and 4 months ago. It cant understand why I have to pay for a known faulty hardware problem!
I really loved using that macbook pro for 4 years but knowing that it has a known faulty hardware and that Apple is not willing to help me just makes me angry.
I LOVE APPLE so i think there may be a way to get this done. THX

  • I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4S. My old iPhone had been unable to sync for some time and I blamed it on the faulty cable. With my new cable I tried to sync the 3 before advancing to the 4S to be sure I had all my data. Will not sync.

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4s. My old iPhone had not completed a sync in some time because of a faulty cable. But the old phone still will not sync properly even with the new cable.
Now that I have my new iPhone, I would like to first sync the old phone so all the data will be available for the new phone. I would also like to have an extra copy of my audio ebooks on the old iPhone so my husband and I can both listen at the same time using earphones while driving long distances in the car and then discuss the book. We have been unable to do this with the old iPhone alone due to constant road noise.

I'm not sure what made the difference, but I tried again and it worked this time. ???????????

  • Why was I lied to by in store reps and treated as if I did something wrong when trying to get a faulty phone less then 6 month old replaced?

I am writing to say I experienced the worse customer service ever from one of your stores!!!  Not just the reps but both the day and night manager both were very rude to me, I am not going to saying I was a happy camper in talking to them but you are more then welcome to pull up the recodings and see that I was not being out of bounds with them....expecially after waiting over an hour to be seen in person then being lied to and calling back mad then next day!  I have a Note 3 I purchased about 4-6 months ago that the screen went dead on.  The phone still turns on and makes noies and recieves messages but will not light the screen up.  I took it in the the Murrieta store last night about 830pm, after reading online that you can bring it back to any verizon wireless store for refurbished replacement.  Well after checking in and witing till about 930pm (30 mins after closing) I was seen and given the 3rd degree about how I broke the phone.  The representitive went thru the phone for 20 mins and continue to throw out ideas of how I broke it and hows it possible I could break it and again would ask if I broke it.  After the 5th time stating I did not break it he look up my phone number and pulled my account (a while later we started) and stated he could get me a replacement by Tuesday of the following week, well that was a Thursday night and I was going out of town that friday so I explined that does not work and I need a phone ASAP.  He then explianed I could pay for overnight delivery, I refused to pay for any charges as it was not my fault the phone was broken,  He stated a manager could possibly waive the charge.  I asked to speak to the manager, he coninued trying to help me for another 5 mins to which I eventually said can I just speak to the manager.  He went and asked the manager to come over who was already dealing with another irrate customer.  After waiting another 5-10 mins the manager came over and rudley asked how can I help you.  I explained where we were in our transaction and that I was very unhappy.  She rudley informed me that all they can do is ship the replacment and if I wanted they would ship to a venture store (my weekend destiation) and I could go piock it up from there and that it.  I informed her that the rep has already offered overnight to my house by 1030am but I needed her to pay for the charges.  She said fine she would and was very short and rude about it.  At this point I was ****** and told her I felt she was being very rude and short to me and I understand she just dealt with an irrate client but I had been waiting well over an hour at this point for something turns out I could have done over the phone or should have as your stores dont offer in store replacement (I was told that a policy and they have no idea why the website would say come to the store but its wrong).  I also informed her that it was a product I bought from your company that was giving me trouble due to it being faulty and its an inconvenence to me THE CUSTOMER....not the other way around.  She said she was doing all she could do and could do no more.....NEVER once in the conversation did the manager offer her apologizes for my troubles, even after I stated she was being rude and I was very unhappy with her level of customer service in this problem with a warrantied item.  I excepted the 1030am next day delivery and left.  Well I was unhappy but left anyways and now its 1130am I go to check status of package and it says monday by 530pm delivery??????  So I called the store informed the day manager on duty (David <<Last name removed>>) I was lied to about a needed delivery of replacement and explained that I am very unhappy.  Well turns out he had the staff listening on speakerphone as he informs me the staff remembers it differently and the manager on duty last night went above and beyond her duty by paying for my shipping and helping me.  Then went on to say my screen was cracked via the notes shown which was never shown to me and they did not even have to help me as I did not have insurance.  I explained the rep the night before spent 30 mins trying to find how I broke the phone and why I could have broke it to which he found nothing with the phone but apparently still put in the notes he found a pressure crack.  I asked the manager if its the policy to just assume the thing is broken by the client to which he said YES, we have an extensive history with these devices and we are usually right in out ASSUMPTIONS!  I informed him I was very unhappy and he was not a part of the conversation last night and to tell me his rude night manager went above and beyond was siding with his employees far beforing doing any research into the matter having only heard what his employees were talking about as I was explaining.  He did not seem to care and explained that your policy are very strict and your employees must adhere to them to, guess this includes lieing to customers to get them out of the store.  At this point I got his info as I seen the level of his customer support and service and hung up.  This really makes me question the 15 year relationship I have had with Verizon Wireless!!!  I now am leaving my family alone for the weekend and I have no form of communication as I will be on a boat off the coast of Ventura for 3 days......and I am left to think my best hope is to have a phone monday evening that I will mostly be charged full price for as the rep stated the phone he is replacing is broken........am I correct in this assumption.......Verizon Wireless Sorry, I don't believe you when you say you don't work for the VZW.
Believe me or don't. That's simply up to you.
You are trying to explain to me that they could have just kick me out after
hours (even though I was there atleast 30 mins before closing, was checked
    in and asked to wait)
No business is obligated to assist you after hours.
and that my phone probably is broken (even though the
rep could find nothing wrong and could show me nothing wrong still noted in
the notes it was broken)....sure sounds like a vzw rep to me.
I sure hope that, for your sake, that the phone is not broken.
You are assuming I was told of charges.....
At some point you were told of the charges because you mentioned them in your original post.
you also assume I was irrate and
    demanding from the start....
In my 20 years of retail experience and dealing with customers I don't assume that you were irate. I am confident of that. I could tell from your original post that you were not an easy customer to deal with.
the website clearly states come to store for a
refurbished phone if your phone has a warranty issue which is what I did.
Can you post a link to this information on the website?
I will give you that you are very articulate in your answer (Thank you) but completely
unhelpful and ignore the fact that I was told something which now you make
me believe even more was done intentionally.
    What does this even mean?
    You say nothing can be
overnighted after 5pm....then why was made that promise?
FedEx has certain times that they can abide by for overnight shipping.
    To get me to go
    away?
Yes because it was 30 minutes after the store closed and they wanted you out of there.
There is policy and I understand that but there is also a thing
called customer service and thats what not what I received.
You obviously don't understand that there is policy or you would not have treated the employees the way that you admittedly did in your original post.
You get what you give. You will always attract more flies with honey than with vinegar.

  • MBP-mid 2009-T-style MagSafe charger faulty?

Ok... I've read through several of the 'issues' folks are having with their MBPs and charging. My mother has a brand new MBP--bought this month--September 2010, and it came with the newer L-style MagSafe charger. My husband and I, each have a one year old MBP with the older T-style MagSafe charger.
Noticing odd charging results, and what appeared to be a very shortened battery 'life,' I feared that my MBP was having some serious charging/battery issues. But, I thought I'd try some simple troubleshooting tactics before I drove 50 miles to our nearest Genius Bar. So, I plugged my charger into my MBP and a 'safe' wall outlet and watched it over several days. Here's what I've discovered so far...
The little LED indicator light on my MagSafe charger will come on Green, turn Amber, go off, come back on, etc... all the while it is sitting securely--undisturbed--at an outlet that is working properly. My MBP will announce that it is 'Not Charging,' or 'Calculating,' and/or show inconsistent time left to charge. My T-style MagSafe charger will charge when inserted only one way--top up and bottom down... I've 'marked' it so I can tell which way will work... if I insert the charger with the 'bottom' up then the little LED light does not light up at all. There are no dirty/broken/bent connectors or connections. This is not how it worked originally, and it is not how my husband's T-style MagSafe charger works currently. In fact, the charger he has works without hesitation in my MBP, regardless of which side is up or down. With no unexpected changes in the LED light or the status while it is plugged into the same outlet on the wall and the same female receiver on my MBP.
My mother's L-style charger works perfectly in my MBP also... again, regardless of whether I point the cord toward the back of the MBP or toward the front of the MBP. It lights up wonderfully and charges quickly. We also purchased *speck clear hard-shell covers to protect the outside of all three of our MBPs. My husband and I bought ours along with our MBPs last year -- and my mother purchased hers at the same time she bought her MBP this month. Oddly, the *speck cover has been modified to fit the newer MagSafe power connectors, to ensure that the cord curls behind the MBP.
So, it appears that the battery in my MBP is capable of charging and holding a charge just fine as long as I use these other chargers available to me. The obvious conclusion is that the MagSafe charger I received with my MBP is faulty. And, I also believe that this is something Apple must be aware of, since the style of the MagSafe charger -- and the *speck covers have been modified and/or redesigned.
In the following 'support' article, it seems that Apple could be admitting this possibility when they mention that the cord may be replaced whether in or out of warranty? I just thought folks should know that for some of these continuing power problems... you might want to have the MagSafe chargers checked before you decide the problem lies in the MBP?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1713
If Apple is aware of this problem, it would be noble of them to simply admit that some of the MagSafe chargers are faulty--it happens, no big deal--and offer customers a replacement. If I had not discovered what was at the root of my problem -- and instead -- had taken my MBP in for repair, calibration, etc. and then found out that it was basically just the 'power cord' at fault... GRRRR... I would be very frustrated.
    Good luck!

The older T-style adapters (that originally came with the non-Unibody MBPs) definitely had problems with their strain relief failing. My friend and I had to replace ours within about 3 months of buying a MBP. Apple actually kindly replaced this for me through AppleCare even before that article existed.
My new T-style connector does not seem to be failing yet, but I have not owned the laptop for that long.
As for your charging problem, it does sound like the MagSafe connector is faulty. However, I would bring your laptop along to the Apple Store anyways and verify that the replacement charger actually works with your laptop. While it may not appear externally there is anything wrong with the charging port on your laptop, even microns of misalignement due to various factors (Magnet strengths, manufacturing tolerances between the connector pins, etc) can potentially cause the electric flow to stop.

  • HELP - CK-200 NO SOUND OUTPUT - FAULTY???

Hi... please can someone help, I'm at the end of my tether.
Last week I bought a CK-200 (ISO) and fitted it straight in my KIA Ceed.
All worked well for about two days, then I noticed when I started the car there was no start-up sound and no sound when the phone rang etc
I reported this to the dealer who supplied it and they sent me a new ISO Cable/Loom + a new black box/controller thingee.
I fitted these on Friday and everything was GREAT
Saturday I used the car and everything was fine.
Then next time I got into the car... NO SOUND...
Could it possibly be that there's a faulty batch out there? ISO connectivity is a universal standard isn't it... and there's certainly nothing wrong with my car radio/cd...
Please can ANYONE shed some light on this...

    Hi
From what you have said, it sounds like it COULD be one of two things.
A damaged cable, or a bad / weak earth which is not enabling the mute function.
One way to test this would be to connect a standard headphone to the 3.5mm socket on the control box. If you hear the call audio, it's a mute problem.
To get around this, snip the black wire that leads to the 4 way multiplug and earth it separately to a good chassis ground in the car.
If you are not comfortable doing this, I strongly recommend calling a professional installer, after all this kit is designed to be professionally installed.
Are you in the UK? If so, you can find a list of Nokia Accredited installers here:

  • B50-30 Memory upgrade/faulty slot?

Hi Lenovo I have an issue in trying to upgrade the B50-30 from the installed 4Gb to 16b except it seems as the 2nd slot is not reading the 2nd module placed in it. The site, and customer support for that site, I purchased the ram from state that the laptop will take 16Gb - according to Lenovo... but Lenovo show 8Gb max usable capacity in the Lenovo Solution Center app? Not sure if it refers to 8Gb max in the one slot - - - so a total of 16Gb? I therefore have a few questions to ask: 1/ What is the correct total RAM the B50-30 will take? 8 or 16? Having placed both 8Gb modules in the slots and booting up I get a 'blue' screen with Lenovo logo and the 'busy' circle going round and it continues until the battery is removed; 2/ Does this indicate that it does not take 16Gb or a fault with slot 2? Placing 1 8Gb module in slot one works - - - BUT the machine is still VERY slow! I have tried placing the original 4Gb module in to slot 2 leaving slot 1 empty but get a black screen at boot up. 3/ Does this indicate that the slot 2 is faulty or that slot 1 must be occupied? 4/ How can I check if the 2nd slot is okay and working? I have placed 2 x 4Gb modules from a Toshiba X500 P33 machine (supposed max ram 8Gb but now running 16Gb) and neither ram works either together (as 8Gb) or as 4Gb in slot 1. I have assumed that these are not compatible yet they are the 'same' 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz modules as those sent for the 2x 8Gb upgrade! I purchased the machine for my wife in January this year and it has ALWAYS been VERY slow. I had hoped to speed it up with the upgrade but I am disappointed it is still slow with 1x 8Gb and seemingly can't use slot two! It is so slow that my wife does not like to use it - wont use it - and I'm feeling it was a waste of money to buy it. If it is faulty then that would possibly explain why it is so slow but I need to get this sorted... please help! Oh! If I enter the serial number for the machine (on the Lenovo site support page) I get an error message and told to enter the 'correct' number??? Lenovo Solution Center program for the machine shows: Product: 80ES, Serial SDK0F82993WIN, BIOS: 9CCN27WW(V2.05)

    Hi FrankJ,
    Thanks for Posting!
    The Lenovo B50-30 Supports 8GB Max (2x 4gb)
    http://www.lenovo.com/shop/emea/content/pdf/Essential/BSeries/B50DSEN.pdf
To Check if the RAM slot 2 is working, Try all the RAM module that worked on slot 1 into slot 2.
Note: You can use slot 2 even if the slot 1 is blank and the otherway around (No hierarchy).
The Ram module from your other computer may not work, because the Lenovo B50-30 supports DDR3L type of RAM which is a low powered module.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • I bought my iphone from Bangkok and it is faulty

    Hi,
I recently bought the iphone 4 from Bangkok and it is being funny. It keeps turning off every now and again and freezes. It is a genuine i phone but Im not sure what to do, Sometimes I select photos or calander or my messages and it will enter the app for 2 seconds then log back out onto the main menu.
I have reset it like 5 times a day.
Will this cost me a fortune to fix??
Im currently residing in Dubai and there doesn't seem to be any actual Apple stores here.
Also I have not yet purchased a sim card for this phone..as I dont want to spend money on a contract if the phone is faulty.
Could the reason for the phone be due to having no sim card in it?
    Please help
    Thank you
    Emma

If you never put a SIM card in the phone, there's no way you could have activated it to do anything.  Either you hacked the phone to use it or it's not a legitimate Apple product. Note that iPhone warranty is valid only in the country of sale (with the exception if the EU).

  • Trying to install Windows 7 with Bootcamp on my Macbook with a faulty CD drive

I am trying to install Windows 7 with Bootcamp on my Macbook A1278 (OS 10.6.8) with a faulty CD drive (CDs and DVDs get stuck in it and I had to get it removed in an Apple store, so I don't want to use it anymore). I have got a licence for the product but I am only in possession of the ISO, is there any way to install it using a USB stick?
I don't have many options while launching Bootcamp, only
"Download the Windows support software for this Mac" but when I try I get a message explaining me that the download could not continue as the software is not available,
    or
"I have the Mac OS X installation disc [...]" but obviously I can't use my CD drive so this is not an option. I tried it anyway and I created a Windows partition but when asked to "start the Windows installer", I can only continue by insering a CD.
I tried to use a USB stick and added the ISO on it but nothing has changed.
How can I install my copy on Windows?...

BobTheFisherman > Hem, yeah, that is stating the problem and not working toward resolving it.
Turbostar > I checked the link and it seems to be relating to the first video I have seen on the subject. I tried to install Tuxera then to work with rEFIt, but I did not get any result yet (I don't know if I am doing something wrong during the USB writing process as many different ways are explained on different websites).
So far my last try was to launch Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool on VMware Fusion but it the only disk shown is A:\ Removable disk (not the name of my USB) and it is stated that the disk is being used by another program, even though it's not open on the Mac side.
Some websites are advising to write the copy of windows on a USB via a PC and then launch it on the Macbook, so I might try that in the next few days. I will keep you updated.
If anyone has another option I might not have think about, or an advice on how to efficiently create a bootable Windows setup USB with my Mac, please let me know!

  • Just outside of my warranty and my Macbook Air is faulty! Help!

    Hi all,
Just wanted to know if anyone is or was in the same boat and if there was any options open to me here without forking out for expensive repair costs.
Macbook Air purchased November 2010. 11 inch 4 Gig model. Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    My Problem... (LCD Display Faulty)
1st Problem: Been absolutely perfect until about 4 weeks ago. First I noticed a few small red dot's appearing on the left of the screen, as far as the screen will go which only apear on darker colours. These red pixel dots only appear after the Macbook has been on for about 20 minutes or so. They will dissapear when you close and re open the lid but then will re appear 20 minutes later. The longer you use it the worse these red pixel dots get and they even start flashing. This has got worse over the last 4 weeks.
2nd Problem: I have just noticed after these red dots the right side of the screen is a slightly darker shade than the left side. Split exactly in the middle of the screen. Noticed this on boot up last week and is particuary noticable on blue and grey coloured screens. Eaxactly the same problem as these guys had here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2791453?start=0&tstart=0
    What I did...
Tried reinstalling software etc which didnt rectify anything so I booked an Apple Genius Bar appointment today at 12:20 at the Apple Store in Birmingham (Bull Ring). The genius confirmed this was a faulty screen and it would have to be replaced.
One Problem... My Warranty ran out November 8th. Just under 2 months over the warranty. Guess what... They said they would not replace it and I would have to pay just under £400 to get it fixed. They were not prepared to help in any way.
I expect a £1200 laptop to last longer than 14 months without developing a fault and even if it did at that price I certainly would be expecting the retailer/manufacturer to repair free of charge especially when they have confirmed it is a manufacturer fault. A £300 Asus Notebook then I wouldnt mind.
I quoted Sales of Goods act to the Manager in the store and she said the Sales of Goods act doesnt apply because it has to be reported within 12 months and Im only covered for up to 6 years if the fault was reported within 12 months.
    HELP... Advice?
Has anyone had experience with out of warranty repairs? Has anyone any advice? (Forget the buy the extended warranty wise cracks) I can't afford to buy warranties on every electrical item I purchase for my houshold.
This Macbook is less than 60 days out of its warranty is there anything I could do? Or even any simple repair solutions? Tried the stuck pixel fixes which didn't work.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Joe.

    Thanks Allan,
Allen to be honest after visiting the apple store today I was hoping to get some sort of compremise. Like I pay for the labour or something hoping to be around £100ish but no. I had a grinch. She was not prepared to help in any way....
I have onother Apple store in Sollihul. I could pay them a visit I supose. There all like 30 miles away though and a 60mile round trip like the one I have had today has drained my energy!
I just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same issues and Im glad to see you managed to compremise.

Bring it back in for service.  Insist they test what they fix.   If they required you to backup, what did you do with your backup?  What kind of backup did you have?  Was it Time Machine or a clone?

  • How How can i install Mountain Lion with faulty firewire ports??

Basically the firewire ports are fried on my MBP 3.1  (2007). My mac used to take hang on blue screen and take 10 mins to boot but I solved this problem by installing an ssd and deleting the following kext file...
    /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireFamily.kext
My MBP now boots in under 20 seconds so if anybody is having the same issue then there is the resolotion..
Anyway these are the steps I have taken but failed to properly install ML.
Dowloaded Mountain Lion at least 3 times from the App store to make sure the download wasn't corrupted.
I even tried making a Lion Bootdisk so I can install Mountain Lion on a USB drive (Install ESD.dmg).
I have even tried installing Lion first thinking I would take it one version at a time but gets stuck on boot screen too.
I even changed my hard drive to a new blank SSD drive to see any difference.
Each time I install Mountain Lion or Lion, everything is good until the installer has to restart the laptop.
Laptop gets stuck at the grey boot screen with the Apple logo and the loading circle. Nothing ever happens after.
I always had to use/boot to the Snow Leopard CD so I can restart the laptop back to the Snow Leopard OS and then update to 10.6.8.
I am guessing it is the ML dmg reinstalling the above file ( /System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireFamily.kext ) which is leading to the same issue because of the faulty firewire ports.
Is there anyway I can resolve this because its doing my head in and Snow Leopard is old and doesnt support newer software that I would like to use.
Any help would be kindly appreciated. Thanks

    Just some thoughts.
I presume you already partitioned the new SSD drive as GUID?
Is there anything on the new drive at all yet, or anything that isn't already backed up? If not, you could try erasing the drive and then installing OS X from the bootable flash drive installer you made.
Ive tried that and yes it is GUID. Im going to get grey hairs soon and Im not even 30 lol .... yet
I am not going to buy a new logic board as its just not logical (sorry for the pun) I got the mac for free and I want to spend as little money as possible. Im running out of ideas though

  • How do I can my rescue email address? I was asked to answer my security questions, but I forgot the answers and realized my rescue address was outdated. I tried adding alternate email addresses, but my faulty rescue address remained the same.

I tried to change my rescue address, since it is outdated, and was not receiving any of the emails from Apple to this faulty address regarding resetting my security questions.
I cannot proceed in regaining full use of my account to make purchases if I do not reset my security questions, and I cannot reset them without receiving such an email, and I have no idea how to change my rescue email. The Apple ID support section of this site was unfortunately unhelpful and led me in circles.
Please help me to change my rescue email address!
If it helps, a few months ago I changed my primary account email, and my old primary address is my faulty rescue address now. It is no longer on my list of addresses but continues to show up as my rescue address.
An additional portion of my question: Is it possible, if I terminate one Apple ID, to move purchases made on that ID, to a new ID? I'm not sure if it's a violation of the terms and conditions if DO NOT keep the purchases on two accounts simultaneously.
