Is my Qosmio F750 glasses free 3D compatable?

Hi,
Please help me to identify whether my recently bought Qosmio F750 with part number PQF75A-03000Q is a glass free 3D. If so please advise my how to set up and use. I restored the machine to factory settings and I can 'see' 3D is working. but no glasses free effects.
Should I buy glasses?

Please dont understand me wrong but I presume you have checked notebooks specification?
Is your notebook specified as 3D notebook or not?
Here in Europe there are several 3D glasses free Toshiba models but all belongs to newest series 8.

  • Qosmio F750 and external 3D monitor

I can connect the IR emitter for use nvidia active shutter glasses and a 3D external monitor ? such as a video projector 3D?
How do I install the driver emitter?

To be honest Im a little bit confused.
Not quite sure what you do exactly.
    Let's clarify some basic things.
The Qosmio F750 "glasses-free 3D" notebook was equipped with special internal autostereoscopic 3D display which does not require additional usage of 3D glasses.
The technology is called active lens which use the internal webcam to scan and control the eye position (face tracking) in order to ensure best 3D effect.
If you want to watch 3D on external monitor, you need a monitor which would support 3D technology (120Hz) and special 3D Vision 2 Wireless Glasses Kit because the Nvidia 3D Vision technology is designed for use with active shutter glasses and 120Hz monitors.
You can of course also play BD 3D movies using the integrated Blu-ray optical drive and the bundled player also on an external 3D TV connected to the notebooks HDMI 1.4 video output.
The 3D TVrequires 3D glasses too.

  • Qosmio F750: Ghosting may mean defective display?

    Hi!
I've got a short question: I'm a little bit unsure if the ghosting effect I spot on my F750 (glasses-free model) may be the result of a defective display. If I run the x-tune utility in the "professional mode", I see a clear green image when closing one eye and if I close the other eye, I indeed see a red area (as supposed) but there are still huge "greenish" areas visible. Almost the entire right quarter of the display is flickering green. If I adjust the effect as told by the application, the effect will only get even worse.
According to the face tracking window, my eyes are detected correctly and I'm also using sufficient lightning and viewing distance.
So, what's the experience other users get? Do you see clearly green and red areas? How about ghosting in movies or games?

Yes, of course I'm award of this issues. But in contrast to classical separation methods like shutter glasses, I thought that the glasses free technology consits of a huge amount of micro lenses just in front of the display which are "directed" to either one or the other eye.
Having this in mind, I guessed that maybe the control of these lenses might be defective. Please don't get me wrong: If this behaviour is as expected by the design of this technology, I won't have any problems with it. I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same effect. I don't want to contact my local ASP if it's not a hardware defect because I barely need the laptop almost every day ;-)

  • Qosmio F750 -How to watch movie or smth else in 3D mode?

Before i've bought this laptop, i saw plenty of clips and read a lot of articles about easy 3d mode when cam is watching for your eyes. Now I cant find any software which can do so. I've found only Toshiba Video Player, but it plays only DVD or mpeg format files, and i want to watch avi format for example. Is it possible?

    Hi
It looks your Qosmio F750-03W PQF75C-03W001 is an Toshiba Canadian model as I found this here:
    http://support.toshiba.ca/support/isg/center/en/index.asp?s1=Notebook&s2=Qosmio&s3=F750&s4=PQF75C-03W001
First of all you should update the BIOS to the latest version (at this time it seems that BIOS 2.0 is the latest one).
    Also update the
    nVidia Display Driver version 8.17.12.9039
    Super-D IC Driver version 1.0.1613.809
Toshiba Blu-ray Disc Player version 1.0.1.299
    as mentioned here http://support.toshiba.ca/support/isg/tsb/en/view.asp?docid=TSB001633
if 3D stereo effects are not ok use the X-tune to calibrate this.
You are recommended to use this utility to optimize the 3D stereo effects when using the Glasses-Free 3D function for the first time or being unsatisfied with the 3D effects.
To operate the X-Tune utility, follow the steps as described below:
    1. Select the language and optimization mode, and then click OK. There are three optimization modes: Primary, Advanced and Professional. You can choose one based on your own experience.
    2. Sitting about 60cm away from your computer, click Start to continue.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions on each step.
    4. Use the left or right arrow key on the keyboard to adjust the effect. When you are satisfied with the effect, click Enter and then an information window will appear on the screen. Press the ESC key on the keyboard to cancel the optimization procedure.
    5. Click Finish to close the X-Tune utility.
You said your face recognition does not work properly so uninstall this software. Do this also with the webcam driver/software. After both tools has been uninstalled, clean registry using CCleaner and install both tools again using the newest version.
Reboot and start the X-Tune again to calibrate the 3D effects.
In the Toshiba doc (link posted above) you can find this notice:
    1. Set [Screen resolution] to 1920x1080. Glasses free 3D mode is not enabled except in 1920x1080 mode.

    9. When [Enable stereoscopic 3D] in NVIDIA Control Panel is unchecked, game will start with 2D mode. At this time, glasses free 3D mode is not enabled even if you pressed 3D button of PC while playing the game.
    10. Glasses free 3D mode may be enabled except TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player and games. At this time, please disable glasses free 3D mode by unchecking [Enable stereoscopic 3D] at NVIDIA Control Panel.
    11. The color of video may be different from original when playing video with full screen mode on RGB and non 3D TV if [Enable stereoscopic 3D] is checked. At this time, please disable glasses free 3D mode by unchecking [Enable stereoscopic 3D] at NVIDIA Control Panel.

  • How to display 3D still pictures on Qosmio F750-122?

How can I dispayes still pictures on Qosmio 750-122 (glasesless ) ?
Pictures from Panasonic Lumix 3G camera.

    Hi,
I've got an LG P720 Optimus 3D Max mobile phone which has twin cameras for taking stereoscopic photos.
On my Qosmio F750 11U (glasses free) I click a .jps file and the special "NVIDIA 3D Vision Photo Viewer 1.2.1" shows the .jps file as 2 photos side-by-side. I can then right-click that window and choose "Stereo view (fullscreen)". So it can be done! :-) At least on my 11U.
I had to install newer drivers than those which came installed, and in "NVIDIA Control Panel" under "Stereoscopic 3D, Set up stereoscopic 3D", I have "Enabled stereoscopic 3D". That window irritates me because after setting a tick in the "Enable stereoscopic 3D" box, I have to click "Apply" (bottom right) before I can click the "Test stereoscopic 3D..."
    I hope this helps...

  • Qosmio F750 - 2D - 3D conversion.

    Hi.
    First post here.
    I have a Toshiba Qosmio F750 3d with Windows7 64 bit installed. Model #PQF75E-036008EN.
All drivers and software are up to date using the Toshiba Tempro and software updates messages etc.
I've searched the forum data base to ask how do I convert my Blu Ray DVD into 3D?
I do have the glass less 3d LED 15.6" inch display and can see the demo version 3d clips, that Toshiba installed onto my laptop.
Am I correct in believeing that the Toshiba Blu Ray player software, can convert stock Blu Ray films into 3D, to be played back using the Toshiba Bla Ray player?
There is a 2d -3d tab on this player. I'd like to play my collection of standard 2D blu ray movies in 3D.
Or, do I have to purchase a full 3D movie in the first place.
    al.any help is appreciated.

    > Am I correct in believing that the Toshiba Blu Ray player software, can convert stock Blu Ray films into 3D, to be played back using the Toshiba Blu Ray player?
On your notebooks system two different players are installed: WinDVD BD for Toshiba and Toshiba video player.
WinDVD BD for Toshiba this software can be used to play the 3D blu-ray disk.
This software does NOT support the 2Dto3D conversion function!
Toshiba video player: this software plays DVDs and video files. This software supports the 2Dto3D conversion function and 2D DVD-VR and video files can be converted to 3D.
Note: 3D occurs only in full screen size. So when you enable the 3D playback, the video automatically enlarges to full screen size.

  • Qosmio F750 - Glassless 3D doesn't work

Hi, I have searched the forum and read this thread :http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=64523&start=30&tstart=0
I am trying to get my PQF75A-04600Q to display 3D, The software that came with the Laptop is: Toshiba Video Player 3D and Corel WinDVD BD. Non seem to work, as i am understanding it the webcam is supposed to scan your eyes as you look at the 3D , does this happen automatically or as in the linked thread do i have to set the webcam up(if so how?.).
According to the linked thread i need to download 3 files, the Toshiba Blu-ray player, the X-Tune utility, and the Nvidia drivers. I have downloaded these but not yet installed them.( seems to me that the 3D should work "out of the Box" without having to install extra programs).
    Cheers
    linuts

    Welcome linuts,
    sorry, I don't know what a PQF75A-04600Q is.
In my first post on the thread
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=265647&#265647
I tried to explain how I got a "proof of concept" running, i.e. to see _anything_ on 3D on my glasses-free F750-11U.
Once I had gone through those steps it was much easier to get films working.
Let us know how you get on,

  • Qosmio F750 - some keyboard keys stoped working

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Qosmio F750 since 3 months ago. The other day, i just powered the laptop and noticed some keys (a,b,n,enter...) were not working at all. I tried to clean blowing under the keyboard and nothing. Also in the windows booting these keys dont work. Anyone with the same problem?
Someone knows how to solve this?
Is quite annoying having to use an external keyboard with a 3 months old laptop....
    thank you!

    Hi
I think only keyboard replacement could solve your keyboard button problem.
It looks like the single buttons are faulty and since the single buttons cannot be removed, the whole keyboard needs to be replaced.
Get in contact with an local Toshiba ASP. The warranty seems to be valid and the fix should be done free of charge sorry to say this but it seems you had simply a bad luck :(

  • Re: Viewing 3D pictures made with 3D camcorder on Qosmio F750

Has anyone been able to view Panasonic 3D on a Qosmio 3D glass less system.
I have a Panasonic TM900 and would like to view its 3D on my F750 Qosmio.
The Panasonic pictures are side by side but there is a space of about one cm between them so the standard 3D does not overlap and one sees a double image.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanx. Sander

    Hi
Did you try to ask the manufacturer of this camcorder for support or details?
I think here in the forum you can get details and info how to use Qosmio F750 3D but I dont think that someone would be able to help you with this camcorder
I googled a little bit and it seems that 3D of this camcorder works in side-by-side method.
So you need the 3D TV (supporting side-by-side method), 3D glasses and HDMI cable.
The Toshiba Blu-ray Disc Player supports "Side-by-Side (LR)", "Side-by-Side (RL)", "Interleaved (LR)" and "Interleaved (RL) 3D method so you can watch 3D Blu-ray disks but as far as I know its not for 3D pictures.
Would also recommend checking other threads like this one:

  • Qosmio F750 - What Blu-ray region?

    Hi all
    I have a Qosmio F750 laptop with Blu-ray drive.
I'd like to know what region it is and/or is it region free.
    Cheers
    Jamino

As I can see Joe has already offered detailed answer but here is just my opinion about that.
Generally speaking notebooks are country specific products and optical disc drives country code is set to certain region or country.
All movies that you buy in your country will work without problems.
Of course there is possibility to change region code but it is limited and can be changed 4 times I think.

  • Qosmio F750 - How to change dedicated graphics memory to 2GB...

In order to get my Qosmio F750 ready to run some games, I have updated all of the drivers on via the toshiba website and NVIDIA website while also downloading the relevant software. This includes updating the BIOS to version 2.00.
According to the [laptop specifications given on the Toshiba website|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/qosmio/f750/pqf75a-02y00q/specifications],
I should have the following allocation of memory to the graphics:
    "4095MB Total: 2048MB dedicated memory + 2047MB shared memory"
When I go to check the Performance Information and Tools window, I get shown the following information:
    Graphics
Display adapter type Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
Total available graphics memory: 1696 MB
    Dedicated graphics memory: 64 MB
    Dedicated system memory: 0 MB
    Shared system memory: 1632 MB
    Display adapter driver version: 9.18.13.1422
    Primary monitor resolution: 1366x768
    DirectX version: DirectX 10
Of course, when I look carefully at the laptop specifications, I realize that the current graphics memory allocation corresponds to the Power Saving Mode i.e. graphics allocation when running on battery power
Normally this would be fine, however, I do not see any change in the info displayed even when I am running on AC power.
I have checked all of my power settings but even when everything is set to 'performance mode', the information displayed stays the same.
I try to look in the system bios to manually change the graphics allocation but no such option exists. Rather all options are set to performance mode...
So my ultimate question is, *How can I change the graphics memory allocation to performance mode as indicated in the system specifications?*
Is this something that occurs automatically without changing the displayed info?
Is there a driver that I have forgotten to update? Has a driver update caused this?
Has a BIOS update caused this?
On a side note, when checking the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, I the directx version is displayed as version 11. So I thought the issue was with the displayed information. But even on the Diagnostic Tool gives me the same info.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me out with this.
    Thanks,
    Omair

Okay I think I get it now.
The Performance Info and Tools Window only shows the information on the Intel HD Graphics 3000.
When the specs sheet says power saving mode it means graphics using only the Intel HD Graphics.
However because of Optimus, the notebook can use either the Intel GRaphics card or the nVidia GPU.
The performance mode in the specs sheet refers to when the notebook is using the nVidia GPU.
The integrated gpu and the dedicated gpu do not run at the same time but Optimus switched between the 2 of them whenever the situation requires it. Whatever it switches to decides which 'mode' the notebook is using. The memory allocations for these 'modes' will match those of the specs sheet.
But any information about the graphics memory will not change as it only displays the info on the integrated gpu.
Well, I can finally understand what the previous posts were referring to and why the posts themselves were pretty short (there wasn't any problem needing to be fixed!).
Thank you for all of your help Randy, Akuma and PauPau

  • Qosmio F750 - Cannot get some functions to work after Win 8 uprgade

    I own a Qosmio F750-125, PQF75E.
Since I upgraded to Win 8, utilizing Toshiba Upgrade Assistant I might add, I had some issues.
Most importantly not being able to get my Toshiba Blu-ray player to install.
Eventually I managed, still don't exactly how but anyway, to install the latest version 1.0.0.5.70A.
The problem now is that the 3D function still don't seem to work.
When I open a 3D movie I only get the picture to display side by side, despite clicking on the 3D button.
I tried to update the Nvidia driver (v290) to the latest version v314, available on Nvidia site, for for my GeForce GT540M graphics card but every time I get a message that the driver cannot find compatible driver hardware. Eventually from within the upgrade files downloaded by Toshiba Upgrade Assistant I managed to install the v306. I am still however unable to install v 314, after the "system check" I still get the message that the driver can find compatible driver hardware.
However, the 3D still does not work. I notice that the face detection (SuperD Xtune) does not automatically start with the Blu-ray player when I launch or open a 3D file to be played by the Toshiba Blu-ray player, as it used to.
How can I get my Blu-ray Player to play my 3D properly again.
If I open Xtune I am able to calibrate the 3D and then it closes.
I do not see a app under all apps which seem to have anything to do with the face detection function.
Is there a setting that need to be changed, an additional driver to be installed or what?
I am really disappointed with the support I have received from Toshiba themselves on this issue.
I also wanted to update the BIOS of my laptop.
My bios version is 2 dating December 2011 but I notice that a newer BIOS is available from Toshiba Website dating February 2012, if I am not mistaken.
I downloaded that but when I run it I receive a message that my computer is not compatible.
    **bleep** this is frustrating.
I want to get my 3D function back and be sure to run the latest and most appropriate drivers, at all times.

    Dear Tonny
Thank you for patiently answering to my posts.
You are right, despite extensive notes in the Toshiba Step-by-Step upgrade guide and specific mention that the Blu-ray player can only be installed by using the Upgrade Assistant, it is not installed by the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant.
I am not sure though whether it actually did form part of the downloaded files but never the less I installed it by some miracle manually.
It did not want to install at first. I received a message that the player could not be found. I noticed that the player is a sMedio Inc player and I then searched sMedio Inc and download their WinDVD Pro player. After that the Blu-ray driver from Toshiba installed.
I also have it that v1.0.0.5.70A is the latest driver but through my local Toshiba Agent (MUSTEK) I received a driver from Germany and it was 1.0.0.5.48. I have not installed that as yet.
I am convinced that the problem lies with the interaction between the Blu-ray Player, Nvidia driver and SuperD software.
I searched my installed files and saw that I have Super D spd2900g and Super D X-tune installed. I uninstalled both and tried to re-install it form the file included in the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant (Super D IC Driver).
However only the Super D spd2900g part installed and the Super D X-tune part is now missing.
NOW I am completely BUGGERED because I do not know where to find the X-tune program to reinstall it.
SuperD's website is very basic, in fact somewhat primitive.
Thanks you also for the links, I have seen them somewhere and have had regard thereto but they are outdated.
They relate to much older versions and windows 7 not 8.
I must be honest, the poor response and support from Toshiba will most definitely lead to me not buying their product again. None of the so called technicians have help me achieve anything. I struggled and figured out everything myself so far.
I still also have no answer in respect of the BIOS upgrade issue. Is there no one I can contact directly.

  • Toshiba F755-3d350 glasses free 3d gaming support HELP

I recently purchased a Toshiba F755-3d350 laptop (with Nvidia GT540M card) that does glasses free 3d. Per a recent toshiba update to the bios, the computer is supposed to do glasses free 3d gaming through 3d vision performed by the NVIDIA GT540M card. However, not all the compatible games listed in the NVIDIA 3D vision profile work with the glasses free. Toshiba does not have an official list, either does NVIDIA. Other 3rd party software (iz3d and tri-def) are supposed to work, but I have yet to make that happen. Can anyone help me with this? So far it is a great laptop, the glasses free 3d works as advertised with movies and photos, but without a list of compatible games from nvidia (or working 3rd party software with directions), it will be extremely difficult to get set up to do 3d gaming without glasses. Any help would be great. Thanks

So far it is a great laptop, the glasses free 3d works as advertised with movies and photos, but without a list of compatible games from nvidia (or working 3rd party software with directions), it will be extremely difficult to get set up to do 3d gaming without glasses. Any help would be great. Thanks
