Is my USB-Power supply genuine? (Picture)

Hi folks,
I have ordered a brand new iPhone 5S via Amazon, but it came with another usb->power adapter than my first 5S - Why and how?
The one I have got with my first 5S (from which I think it's the original/geniune apple adapter) has "Model No: A1400" printed on it.
However, the one I've received now, is smaller, and something tells me that there is something fishy. It has a complete different form - "Model No. A1265".
As I'm from Austria, both of them have the european  O   O   shaped poles... no problem with that. But how come there are two different kinds of USB-Power adaptors?

Daft:
You can do a quick voltage test on the QS power supply by following this procedure (which describes a Gigabit Ethernet model). Please note that the QS trickle voltage at pin 22 is 25v, not 28v as indicated for the Gigabit Ethernet Mac. The rest is the same. Here's a link which shows the color coding of the wires at their respective locations at the connector pinouts on the QS, for ease in identification.
The procedure might look complex/intimidating at first, but it's really quite simple and the only thing you need is a voltmeter.

  • Wired Keyboard USB Power Supply Problem

    Hello,
I'm a proud owner of an iMac 27" which I ordered with the Apple Wired Keyboard because it was equipped with two additional USB Ports.
I'm using the Astro Gaming Astro A40 with their Mixamp and it works perfectly fine if I plug it into the keyboard.
Now I installed Bootcamp with Windows 7 Professional and it tells me the power supply in the keyboard is to low for my headset and my Mixamp.
Does anybody know a solution for that problem?
Why does Windows cry about that while Mac is perfectly fine with this.
I hope somebody can help me. Thank You
    With best regards
    ChickenDuy

    From
    Support FAQ - Astro Gaming
For PC Users: Much like discrete graphics, audio, or physics hardware free up CPU cycles and make our games run faster, the USB drivers built into the MixAmp provide a simple plug and play solution to offloading communication and music duties to the MixAmp.
My guess would be that these drivers are not loaded in OSX. When you run Windows via bootcamp, these drivers are loaded. Based on the function described, they draw more power from your USB bus than they would in the OS X environment. Yet the machine is still only willing to supply 500 mA to the particular hub. I think, therein lies the problem. Or, atleast, a theory.

  • IPhone 3G USB power supply replacement shipper

I signed up for the replacement power supply over the web and received the next day. I am trying to send the old one back, but do no know who the shipper is. Does anyone know who the shipper is?

No that's a good question cause they sent me one and the only thing I know is something about DHL that's all but I feel like that's not telling me nothing right now so what we do that's a good question said i was not going to worry about it I'm going to go back to the web site were I order it from and see if they got a returned address on the web site for us to send it back and if it do I'll be sure to let you know,But if it doesn't I am not going to worry about it at all.

  • font color="2200cc" Apple USB Power Supply and Display Flicker /font

When charging my iPod touch using my Apple iPod Mains/USB charger the screen flickers gently throughout the charge. I've tried this on two entirely seperate power supplies (one in Wiltshire, one in Gloucestershire) and both are the same. I don't have immediate access to a different Mains/USB charger to try that though.
There is never any flickering when charging via my iMac and never noticed any issues charging our Nanos on the Apple Mains/USB charger.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I alone?
    cheers
    mrtotes

I'm living in the US and have the exact same issue. Regardless of the power source and cable (I charge through iMac G5, Macbook, and car charger with three different cables), the same problem is observed. flickering is evident when Safari is loading page when brightness is at the lowest with or without being connected via cable.
However, I sometimes can't replicate the problem when not on cable. I'm trying to find what's causing it but not clear at this point. I talked to Apple support but the guy on the phone couldn't figure out what's causing it and recommended me to go to see genius.
I hope this is a software issue rather than hardware.

  • Driver usb power supply FI3030

    Bonjour,

    Bien cordialement,
    Guillaume H.

  • Do you need the iPod dock to use the USB power supply for a wall outlet?

    Do you? Thanks!

    No.
The cord which you use to connect the iPod to your computer can be connected from the iPod to the power adapter.

  • Fire-wire power supply?

Hi, just a short question. Can I use my fire-wire power supply and the appropriate cable from my 4th gen. classic ipod (monochrome display) to charge the battery of my ipod nano 3rd gen.? Or do I have to use a new USB power supply?
    Thank you!
    Mike

Yes. I do it all the time. I have an old firewire cable and AC brick (I bought the first version of the iPod Photo which came with ALL the pack ins) which I use to charge my 3rd gen Nano, Touch and 5th gen iPod.
    Best of luck.

  • Portable Power Supply for iPhone 3G

    Hi,
I am looking to buy a portable USB power supply for my iPhone 3G.
I will be flying next month, so I need something to provide additional power while I am in the air.
I have searched around, and found:
IGO® POWERXTENDER UNIVERSAL AA BATTERY-OPERATED CHARGER
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-HO&product=2739104
IGO POWER TIP-A133 (adapter for iPod/iPhone)
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-Tips&product=2739128
I live in Canada (so I can't buy from places such as Amazon.com) and would like to keep the cost to a minimum (I don't fly all that often).
I am wondering what people recommend for an affordable portable power supply, that accepts USB?
    Thanks for your time.
    - Brennan

There is power lost when using these chargers. Loss due to current creating heat in the wiring, loss in the iPhone battery that is being charged due to resistance in the battery, and loss due to the semiconductor devices used to manage the charging process. Not all of your 1000 mAh "ends up" in the iPhone battery.
I said "more than half" and that is literally true but a little pessimistic sounding. Maybe 70-80 percent. But I do not know. It will not be 87 percent. That's still good, to me.
Here is a quote from the instruction sheet for my 1200 mAh Richardsolo battery:
"If you have a 20-30% charge remaining in your iPhone, a fully-charged backup battery will bring the iPhone back to about a full charge. Once your iPhone is below 20% remaining battery charge, you may
not quite get a complete recharge from the backup battery, but close."
I find those percentages to be about right.
Regarding Amazon review, I think that is true only for an iPhone that is only partly discharged, not completely discharged.

  • 2253iX California Power Supply USB Communication Issue FIXED

I figure I would post this in the event someone else runs into the same issue.
When trying to communicate to an 2253iX California three phase power supply through USB using labVIEW, it would always fail in the initalization block, when asking the unit for the model ( *IDN? ). The display on the instrument would display Error -113 "Undefined Header" Turns out the USB Com port driver doesn't work when registered as COM9 or greater. It has to be COM0 through COM8. Uninstalling a device in that range and reassigning the power supply's COM fixed the issue.

    not surprising...
I have been using California Instruments 5001iX AC source and 3091LD AC load for years and communications (RS-322, GPIB, USB)  have always been hit and miss when answering an *IDN? query.
Even the newer series 2 models have these issues, but seemingly only with *IDN? query.
I just put a loop in to query it several times before giving up.
Also I have found Ci's set of IVI vi's are usless crap and have made my own using SCPI that work a lot better.
What really makes me sad is Ci is still far superior than Elgar when it comes to AC power sources.

  • While charging iphone with usb adapter supplied with the phone power line gets blown up ?

While charging my IPHONE 4S with the USB adapter supplied along with iphone the power line gets blown up every time  and I am left only with the option to recharge through the USB port of my laptom.Any remedy?

Have you tried other outlets? That may be an electrical problem in your house, worse case scenario. Try other USB wall adapters.

  • Adding USB card that needs power supply H520S

Just bought a 4 port USB 3.0 card for my H520S. I plugged it in and nothing. Then I read on the card manufacturer's website that I need to the connect the card to the PSU in order for it to work (there's an internal USB port on the card).
So I opened the PC and looked for an additional power source to connect the card to...but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for.
Is this doable on this model?
If so, what cables do I need and where do I connect the cable to?
    Thanks in advance

    hi,
This Device Will need a 4 pin peripheral  Power Cable (Molex)
Like the one to the left on this photo
Since the unit is pre configured by Lenovo all Connectors on the PSU may just be enough for all what's preinstalled inside the unit.
Still Check the power Supply of your unit check inside if there is one available This cable is directly from the power supply, so once you open the computer case Look for the power  supply and check the cables coming out from it and look for this connector here is a closer look
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/31/Molex_female_connector.jpg
If you cannot find out you might need to Upgrade the Power Supply.
    Regards
    Solid Cruver

  • Usb hub power supply destroyed while charging ipad3

We purchased an ipad 3 yesterday. At some point I connected it to my one year-old desktop pc to interact with iTunes. The ipad was at about a 60 % charge when I plugged it into a 2.0 usb hub with it's own 5 volt power supply. The hub was plugged into a 2.0 usb port on the pc. The plug-in power supply is UL approved and rated at .5 amps. Within a few minutes the plug-in power supply blew with a bang and a burning smell. The plastic housing contained the destruction, but was very hot to the touch just after. The usb hub was not damaged and thankfully neither was the 2.0 port on the pc. I have since read that the ipad 3 needs more power than most usb ports can supply to charge properly, but have not found any reports where the power supply on an external hub was destroyed. I thought I should report my experience. We will be using the supplied charger to charge the ipad. To use iTunes I will probably connect the ipad directly to the usb 3.0 port on the pc as I have read 3.0 ports supply more power.

The hub does not send power out until the computer tell it to.

Looks like you'll need to call a .NET DLL unless they wrote some wrapper LabVIEW VIs .

  • Re: Draw USB Power to run FM tuner on MuVo v2

    Hi all ...
I have been trudging through the forums in search of a similar question but I see that no one has asked about this yet.
When I plug the device into my USB port it automatically functions as a thumbdri've, displaying the "connected to usb" picture on the screen of my v200.
However, I wonder if we can choose for the device to retain all its basic functions as if connected to a battery source, while plugged into the USB port, effecti'vely saving battery power while having a usb-powered FM tuner.
I hope my description of the problem is clear enough. The very very first time I plugged my device into my computer, it ran as if it was connected to the battery pack. I have been trying to emulate the conditions ever since but the solution just evades me.

You want to run the player powered by the usb-port, right?
This is possible, but I don't know if my method works for you.
I use a TX FM, that is nearly the same as the V200, and if I plug it into my usb-port very very slowly, then I get the behavior you are looking for.
If I slowly push it in, then at some point it turns on in normal play mode and no matter if I push it all the way in or not it is able to be used in mp3 or Radio mode.
I read that someone used an usb-extension-cable and cut the data-wires to only get the power supply. This works as well, but I prefer my method.
Try it slowly and if it does not work, try it several more times and if it still does not work, use another usb-port or use a unmodified usb-extension-cable.
Let me know if it works for you, good luck.

  • Time Capsule power supply failures

Has the chronic Time Capsule power supply failure after about 18 months use been fixed in the new Time Capsules being sold today?  I had a 500GB Time Capsule I recently had to scrap because of this.

It is always possible there is another fault.. to shut down after a minute.. if you are relating that correctly.. is unusual.. I would power the board from 5v 2A supply.. that will quickly show if the issue is your power supply or not.
The TC is definitely in need of more cooling but I would hate to suggest doing a major modification until it runs out of warranty. It is possible to improve the existing cooling with a bit of smarts.. a laptop (or netbook size) cooler to which you can seal the TC.. this is the tricky bit.. you need to allow a space underneath though.. perhaps 10mm.. and seal just the edge of the TC so it allows the cooler to draw air through the TC. That will work without modifying it. But you will need to make up a proper spacer and gasket.
I see pictures of various fans mounted on the top.. they are next to useless. Cooling the outside plastic will achieve only the tiniest improvement in heat transfer due to the thick plastic (insulating) top.. if it was made out of metal maybe it would do something.
Sounds like what is also needed is a different heat sensor that would start the fan at a lower temperature.
It is not the sensor that is the issue. The TC includes a proper fan controller. It is simply set too high.. and so it doesn't turn on.
If you want to break into the TC.. you can solder in a console.. and use serial to USB adapter.. these are very cheap.. the soldering in is tricky.
See the bottom of this page.

    The envstat.. will show temp.
This command will turn on the fan.
