Is Nokia Communal in INDIA?

Few years back I bought Nokia 1100, then 1108, X2 and now X1-01.
All the phone keypads are in English+Hindi.
Why NOT in Kannada?
I bought these phones in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
I visited so many shops in Bengaluru looking for Nokia phones with keypad in Kannada or just plain English, but shop people told that its only coming in Hindi and English.
Why is this so?
Is Nokia Communal?

Hmmmmm, you obviously have Internet access, so what happens if you got to Apple's website and look for yourself?
Did you try a google search?
Maybe I sound like a jerk, but you're just as capable of looking this up as anyone else.

  • How to create a SIS file for Nokia Communicator 9210?

    Hello,
I have written a J2ME application, tested it (yes, it functions), and pressed on button "Package" in KToolbar. As result, I got a *.JAD and *.JAR file. When I copy these files to the Nokia Communicator 9210 Handy, nothing happens when opening the files with the "File Manager". The Java Runtime is installed on the handy.
I think, the Java application must be converted to a SIS file, but how to do it?
    CU NOPPY

I found out the solution. No SIS file is needed. It is enough to send the *.JAR file to the communicator. Although Nokia 9210 already contains a Micro Java Runtime, you must install midpui, otherwise you can not start Java applications without using WAP or the Internet.
    Download midpui: MIDP_beta_sw_for 9210.sis
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/javaforum/main/1,35452,1_0_30_10,00.html
After I installed midpui, I can see a new icon unter "Extras" called "midpui". When clicking on it, I can install *.JAR files from any directory. Afterwards I can see the Java programs in the application list of midpui, so I can execute them successfully.

  • Nokia Communication Centre cannot find my SMS/MMS

    Hello
I currently have a Nokia n70, which I am replacing with a new model. However.
No Nokia software can find my sms/mms messages so I can take a backup of them.
Latest firmware version on the phone:  v 5.0705.3.0.1
    Latest version of PC Suite.
    Windows 7 RC.
I can sync my phone with windows and everything works perfectly. (Contacts, notes, etc etc)
When I open Nokia Communication Center however, It just says: "getting messages" 0% (translated to english, so might differ) And then it just dissapears...
Nokia Photos just finds my photos and videos. But no texts..
When I try to take a backup of the messages (Everything else works just fine) I just get a "!" And nothing is backed up.
I can enter my sms and mms just fine on my phone.
The problem has been there for a while, but I have basically just ignored it. Since I was using the phone after all, and didn't really miss them. (In other words, same thing happened with Vista / Xp, so I doubt the reason is that I am using Win7)
I have ~2000 sms files, and ~50 mms files.
I am getting pretty desperate and willing to try anything. Quite a few of the messages are very personal and dear to me, so I would do anything to save them..
Maybe some application which can save messages in a .csv file?
    Anything
    Best regards.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi. I had the same problem with my N70.  This solved it (Nokia FAQ site (Australia) for PC Suite). Just follow the 5 steps listed and everything should be fine:
Q: Sending of short message with Nokia Text Message Editor fails.
    A:
Check the connectivity between your phone and PC. If the connection is fine, and other PC Suite applications work without problems, check your phone's operating system (ISA or Symbian) from www.nokia.com or from the phone's user guide.
If your phone's operating system is ISA (Series 40), check that your message settings are correct. Contact your local phone operator for more information.
If your phone's operating system is Symbian (S60, Series 80 or Series 90), check that the PC Suite Support file is installed in your phone. The PC Suite Support file is an add-on application for PC Suite usage with contacts and messages. You can check it from the phone's application list. See your phone's user guide for more information. In your situation, the PC Suite Support file might be corrupted or too old for the PC Suite version you are currently using. Do as follows:
    1) Disconnect the phone from the PC.
    2) Uninstall the PC Suite Support file from your phone.
    3) Reconnect your phone to the PC with the Get Connected wizard (on the PC Suite main window).
    4) PC Suite detects that the PC Suite Support file is missing and advises you to install it.
    5) Follow the instructions on the phone's display.
    Cheers.

When exporting SMS messages with Chinese text to csv file, all Chinese characters will turn to confusion symbols.
    My phone: E51 Singapor edition;
Windows XP English, with Chinese PRC for non-unicode program.
English version of PC suite, Nokia communication center version 2.0.

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and  3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.

  • Security code Nokia Communicator 9300i

    Hi,
Last time I used my Nokia Communicator 9300i was 3 years ago.
I'm going on Holiday to Thailand and like to use my old phone again.
Unfortunately I forgot my security key which is asked after starting.
I already format my phone (Ctrl+Shift+F) and searched the internet for options like master key generators, all without success.
I really like to use my phone, what could I do?
    Sjors

nothing you can do unfortunately mate. only other thing i can think of is to take your phone along with proof of ownership to your nearest Nokia Care location, but as it is old hardware i don't think they can assist you.

  • Unable to view messages in Nokia Communication Cen...

I have installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.180.94, and want to upgrade my phone software - Nokia 6681 (I know its quite an old model!).
I am able to synchronize contacts (on memory card), and want to take backup of my Messages (in phone memory) before I upgrade - since everything will be cleanup after upgrade.
I'm not able to take backup, and not able to View any messages in Nokia Communication Center.
    Plz HELP!

Well, I'm not exactly sure what happened but I think I've got it fixed for now.
FWIW, I went to Mail -> Preferences and clicked on the Accounts -> Advanced tabs. The "Enable this Account" box was checked just like always. I unchecked it, saved the changes, and exited Mail.
Then I went back to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Advanced, checked the "Enable this Account" box once again and saved the changes. Now it works just fine!

  • Help with Nokia Communicator 9500 Backup Files - N...

    Greets,
I have come to a realzation that a vital piece of information may be within some old Nokia Communicator Backup Files.  I of course don't have the phone, I also had several Communicator Phones, and I believe I may have more
backup files from those, which may also contain the info.
I of course, haven't had the phones for years...
Am I able to use any Nokia or 3rd Party Software to work with the Communicator Backup Files and extract data?
Thank you for any and all Asisstance, I can't state enough how important and helpful this would be!

Are these backups upon MMC or within PC Suite upon PC? If the latter you could try NbuExplorer: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nbuexplorer/
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

    Hello darkhawk,
Thank you for the recommendation.  I somewhat understand what a MS DOS disk is, but I'm not sure how to go about creating one. I've seen where you can use a program, like Rufus, to create a usb one  - but I'm leery about using 3rd-party programs (especially ones I'm not familiar with). I've come across a couple of 'how-to' tuts, but they didn't clarify what files (if any) I would need to include on the disk (for my particular situation). Right now I don't have any blank cds, nor any extra flash/thumb drives - wish I did, but hadn't needed these for years. There has only been one other time where I needed to re-install Windows, but that was over 15 years ago - I did it through BIOS, reformatting my drives, and then reinstalled via the Windows XP disk. Windows 8 is an entirely different breed, which has left me feeling a bit stumped, at times. If there was a way I could perform it (successfully), similar to the first time I did it years ago, I'd give it a try - but at the same time, I'm a bit reluctant, because if it doesn't work, then I'm stuck without any internet access to get further help.
Ask and ye shall receive. This should be doable in Windows 7 and Windows 8 on another PC. I recommend using a USB Flash drive like in this tutorial, but I'm sure you could use something else.
If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

Also very useful for sorting out virus's as long as it's downloaded and made on another PC that is virus free......

  • Nokia Communication Center 2.0 on Betalabs

    Dear Forum,
Good News to all who have wished for Contact group support from Nokia PC Suite
Communication Centre 2.0 is now available on betalabs... Please do check in nokia.com/betalabs for more
With Nokia Communication Center 2.0, you can access all your messages and contacts - and now also calendar - effortlessly in one location from your PC.
This is the new version of Communication Center that was piloted in Beta Labs and integrated as part of standard Nokia PC Suite earlier this year. Many of the improvements you suggested during this earlier trial have now been implemented:
    Calendar editor
    Contact group support
    Contact thumbnail view
    Performance improvements
    Lots of bug fixes
Hope most of bugs got fixed .... Really good news for our users

    Hi Ced,
I hit the same problem with N97 across two machines (both Windows XP Home SP3). The Nokia Communication Center (NCC) only crashes with Messages, but not Contacts and Calendar.
The NCC I'm using is version 7.1.21.0, the msvcr80.dll, 8.0.50727.4053.
Via Nokia support, I was asked to uninstall PC Suite, run Nokia PC Suite Cleaner, re-install PC Suite. This does not exactly solve the problem. However, I can see NCC displaying the messages, then begin loading them, finally crashing when the load reaches 53%. Subsequently, NCC always crashes just right after launch before the display of messages.
A reinstallation of PC Suite does not bring me back to the above observation. However, a reinstallation with the use of the Cleaner does.
Eventually, I was able to track the cause to two things:
    1. The file C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\PC Suite\356064032901395\PCCSMMS.db, and
    2. The MMS from OVI.com, containing the configuration for synchronisation of contacts, calendar, etc to OVI.com.
Removing the PCCSMMS.db file allows the problem to be recreated. Removing the OVI.com MMS on N97 alone does not resolve the problem.
The problem was eventually resolved by removing both the PCCSMMS.db file and the OVI.com MMS.
It does appears to be a defect or limitation with NCC with configuration type MMS.
Hope you'll manage to read this post, and thus check if this applies to you.
    Cheers.

  • How to install Oracle Lite9i to Nokia Communicator 9210?

    Hi There!
I'm trying to install Lite9i (5.0.2) to Nokia Communicator 9210.
Oracle Lite9i installation manual says that I should use olite.sis and msql.sis files, but when I try to use these files the Communicator only says that "Invalid installer version. Component is not compatible whit this device."
    Any idea what's wrong?
    -Jari

I'm not quite sure what you are asking for. Oracle Text is part of the database.

  • PC Suite - Nokia Communications Centre is not Init...

I am running Nokia PC Suite v.7.1.180.94 with bluetooth on both a laptop (Win 7) and desktop (Win 8). Everything is fine on the desktop but, about a month ago, a problem started with the connection to the laptop. Bluetooth is working, the little icon on the taskbar tells me Nokia PC Suite is connected via bluetooth and, after starting PC Suite, my phone name (a Nokia 300) is on the list displayed. However, when I click on any option i.e. Contacts, Messages etc. Nokia Communications Centre (v.2) starts initialising, but never fully loads - sometimes it gets as far as 34% and then stalls.
There appears to be nothing wrong with the phone and it works fine with the desktop. The same software version is loaded on both computers and everything worked fine on the laptop until recently. No apparent changes have been made to the laptop to coincide with the start of the problem.
I'd be grateful for any help in sorting out this problem.
    Many thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Many thanks for the advice. I tried using the cable and everything worked okay. As both my laptop and desktop were using a bluetooth dongle, I swapped them. The laptop works fine now, so it must be a fault with the bluetooth dongle.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Rgds, SMM

  • Request to launch Nokia N9 in India.

    Hi,
Have been a Nokia customer all my life. Now, I request Nokia to launch the Nokia N9 in India. Aware that Nokia killed this device, but Nokia sells it internationally in other countries even now. This is unfair to starve Indian customers the option of Nokia N9.
India has rated Nokia has the most trust worthy brand for over a decade I guess. So, I think that Indians need more options from Nokia, not monopoly. Nokia has already done such stock clearance in India with the Nokia N900. I believe that Nokia should do that with Nokia N9 too. It will be a great test to see if Indians like the option of Harmattan over Windows phone, Android and IOS.
Please realize that people like me don't have the money and resources to start a great cell phone company to make the device of my own wishes so that I can put the beloved Harmattan OS in it. It is upto Nokia to not waste its own brain child.
    Thank you.

Microsoft being the most loved [!] software vendor, I can guess how over 95% of market share was achieved. People consider Microsoft as a monopoly backed by biased legislation in the US. The people who support microsoft are usually the ones who profit from it in any small way. Very little consumers view Microsoft as good; mostly the one's whose eyes are clouded by the big n fancy numbers and cash that Microsoft shows them.
And by the way, Windows 8 will not reach there because, for that to happen, all business customers [majority of profit generators for Microsoft] should upgrade to it, which is unlikely in a time when most businesses just upgraded from Xp to Win7. Yes Win8 is selling like hot cakes... on new pre-installed computers, etc... Apart from the first month's upgradation SALE, I don't think anyone's gonna want to pay to upgrade to use a over-coloured  un symmetrical UI.
Thank you donofworld for your discussions; You sure are an optimist, realist, don-of-the-world-microsoft-visionary.
Don't worry about the SWIPE UI. Nokia will eventually sell it- probably one of its last ditch attempt, before Microsoft buys Nokia out.

  • Nokia Communication Centre missing some contacts

    Good Night
I'm using Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0 on a Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Sp1 connected through bluetooth and in Nokia Communication Centre is missing some of my phone (Nokia E51) contacts.
I got this issue since older versions of Nokia PC Suite (7.0.x) and Nokia Communication Centre (1.0).
All my contacts on the mobile phone are saved on the phone's memory.
    Ty
    E50 -> E51 -> E52

I have a similar problem with Communication Centre 2. (Pc Suite 7.1.18.0
When I am selecting a group in CC 2, they are some members missing (for example, in one group with 22 members on the phone, they are only 17 showing in communication center)
When viewing all contacts on CC 2 (not only those from a group), all contacts become visible.
When I then select a contact that is missing in a group (in CC2) and when I try to add it to the correct group I get an error message "The contact has not been added to the group because of errors. Try later" (it's translated from the french version of CC 2)
As I said in an older post, one thing that doesn't change with the time in PC Suite : the bugs !
Shame on Nokia for this software...
