Is normal my battery duration?

I have just bought the iPhone 5 and I am a bit worried about the duration of my battery.
It takes only 20 or 30 minutes in get the 100%.
Those are my battery statistics:
Usage: 5 hours, 5 minutes.   Standby: 5 hours, 55 minutes.
I have been using a bit of all: 3G, WhatsApp, Camera, WiFi, Siri, Location services, and some things more.
Now I have a 21%.
This consumption is normal or I have to send it to Apple?

Yes, the battery is replaceable. To have Apple do it, the cost is 99 USD.  You can take it to an Apple store, or if that's not convenient, you can send it to them, but the return shipping cost is an additional 6.95.

  • Sudden decline in battery duration?

Purchased macbook pro in October 2007, so i've had it for about six months. Battery regularly held up for about 4-5 hours during school usage (typing, surfing, researching), and nothing heavy. However, just within the past two days i noticed significant drop-off in my battery duration. My battery currently only lasts for about an hour to two hours doing the same things (as indicated by timer on the top right of the screen). Just wanted to know if this regularly occurs for anybody else as well, because it seems quite abnormal to me to lose almost 50% of your battery duration in one day. Other symptoms include: fans spin much faster and louder, cpu heats up quite high. Again, just to emphasize that this is just for light usage.
I saw that others with related problems included information about their batteries, so here it is:
    Model Information:
    Serial Number: Sony-ASMB012-3711-eab6

Hi dereklok: You are on the right track, but at the bottom of the Activity Monitor screen, click on the CPU tab instead of the System Memory tab. When that one is open, click on the CPU tab at the top to sort by that column. Also at the top of the Activity Monitor dialog box make sure that All Processes is shown. This will show you the processes and the amount of CPU activity.

  • Is it normal for battery to drain 10% every hour and phone getting extremely hot

My iphone 4 (replacement I got during the summer) heats up every so often. If i'm browsing, the side where the sim card is located heats up, pretty much everything I do the phone heats up. But the biggest issue is that my phone drains 10% every hour.
I have 5.0.0. When I charge my phone, the phone heats up. I never charge with the wall charger. I always charge using USB and my macbook.
I had my phone charged up to 100%. I made a 10 minute phone call, and sent some text messages, and my phone is already at 91%.
When i tether to my laptop, the phone heats up.
Before I got my replacement, I NEVER had any battery issues, i NEVER had any heating issues.
I took it to genius. And the guy told me that it is NORMAL for battery to be drained quickly. And that it is NORMAL that my phone warms up.
I even got him to feel how warm my phone gets, and he said "oh that is just normal"
How is this normal? I don't have any more warranty, but i feel like apple gave me a crappy replacement.

No, it's not normal.  Turn of whatever is using Location services, based on your description that is my first guess is that something is using location services constantly and draining the battery.
If that's not the case then some other app is running in the background.
Restore as new... use the device in the "new" "pristine" state for a day or so, does the issue persist?  If it does, you definitely have a hardware issue that Apple needs to address.
If it does not persist, then start restoring apps, one or two at a time until you find the one that is the culprit.

  • What is the normal MBP Battery capacity?

I have an approx. 1 month old MBP; the first battery was just replaced by Apple. I received the new battery on Friday and let it charge fully. On Friday evening, I turned on the MBP and saw that the battery showed "original capacity 5500, current capacity 5391 (fully charged)". I thought that a bit strange, so I decided to calibrate it following Apple's instructions. On Saturday, after fully charging it again, it showed "current capacity 5301". So, now the capacity is worse - ?
Before calling Apple, I'd like to know if it's normal to have a 5% capacity reduction within about 24 hours - at that rate, the battery will be dead shortly.
I'd appreciate any input/experiences with battery capacity.

FIGURED IT OUT! My battery level reached 95% and the battery status said, "the battery is not charging"
I looked it up on apple support and found this very useful section in the Macbook Pro User's Guide:
"If the battery icon in the Finder menu bar is set to show the percentage of charge, you might sometimes notice that the battery does not attain a full 100 percent charge when the power adapter is attached. This is normal behavior; battery life is maximized if charging is not continuously cycled on and off when the battery’s charge capacity is between 95 and 100 percent. When the battery level eventually drops below 95 percent, it will charge all the way to 100 percent."
This fits with my problem. This macbook pro has been literally plugged in for well over a week!
So much for the "apple products are losing their quality"

  • New Ipod Nano 6th generation 16 GB Battery duration

I have this same problem but only on one or two PC's. I'm not sure if it an XP thing, as the other two PC's I transferred on were Vista and were quick. However, my transfer on XP is at a snails pace. It ****** me off and makes me not want to put anything else on here because I don't have hours on end to wait.
If anyone knows of a fix for this, I'm more than sure all in this thread will be happy!

  • IPhone 4 battery duration (iOS 6.0.1)

In my daily use, the iPhone 4 only lasts for 6 hours and a half of usage time, until it reaches 0%. Should I buy a new battery?

There are loads of posts about this all over forums.  It's an ios6 issue.  If your battery was fine before ios6 then I doubt you need to replace it.

  • Expected Battery Duration using Photoshop?

I've just got my new macbook pro 13" and i'm worried the battery is not performing as should be expected.
How long are you guys getting out of your macbook pro 13" using photoshop, i think i must only be getting about 2 hours?
    Thanks

What version of Photoshop are you using?
Photoshop CS3 and below would not run nativity on Intel computers and would run in Rosetta which is an emulator. (the emulator would require more power)
Photoshop CS4 finally switched native to Intel, and does not require Rosetta and would be more power efficient.
With any version though, you will not get 7 hours of photshop use as photoshop is very intensive. I've got about 3hrs on my 13" MBP running CS4.

  • MBP not going to sleep normally when battery is depleated

    Hi folks,
I have had a Macbook Pro 15'' Unibody model for 3 months now and this is the first time I run into this problem. I wanted to calibrate my battery and when the computer was supposed to sleep for the time it says in the calibrating link I found in this page I saw that the computer immediately shut it self off. The fist time I calibrated the battery this was not the case.
If someone could help me on this problem I would be very appreciative.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
This is the link for the battery calibrating instructions I used.

Something must be preventing it going into the appropriate sleep mode; either some software running or a lack of space for the sleepimage file (most unlikely at this point). Run /Utilities/Console, click 'All Messages' top left and then select Sleep from the Apple menu top left - there should be some lines in the Console Log that will give a clue about what's going on (post them here if you like).

  • Since ios 6.1 upgrade, less battery duration!

Since the upgrade to iOS 6.1, the battery of my iPhone 4 last less as 8 hours without charging.
I have seen, that the 3G is less stable and that the battery discharge much quicker when there is less or no network (gsm, edge or 3g).
Have you such experience ? What could I do to prevent that without plane (offline) mode ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Same problem here.
Updated to 6.1 2 weeks ago.
Since yesterday battery is only lasting around 8 hours.

  • Is my Iphone 5 battery considered as Normal?

My Iphone battery drop rapidly to me, I don't know if this is normal but it's bother me a lot. It drops from 100% to 20% at a very fast rate, 4 hours of usage and 11 hours of standby! Even though it change very fast, it drops very fast too, I rather my battery take a longer time to change than it dropping so fast. If I go out, I'm always worried if my battery will last until I reach home.
I always set my brightness to around 10%, I don't on push up notification, I don't on Bluetooth and I don't use location services. So is my battery consisderted as draining rapidly?

The Iphone has varried battery duration. It depends what is running and what network you are one. Ehile at school I recomend putting the phone on airplaine mode as this will stop the Iphone from searching for networks.Did you do a full charge (100% to 0%)? On my Iphone it depends what I do. If I play games it heats up more causing faster battery drain. I can usually get a full day of usage (6:00 to 10:00) with some gaming but mainly texting and browsing the web. In some of my friends case they have seen better battery when they updated to IOS 6.1. I have seen better battery to. Always be on the current software because almost all updates of IOS help battery life. Hope this helps! Good luck with your new Iphone!

  • IBook battery heating up - is this normal?

I just upgraded to an iBook from a Pismo a few days ago, and I've been taking it for a test ride.
I've found that the iBook battery seems to heat up very fast: after about 30 minutes to 1 hour, it gets quite hot on the top. I know the bottom is supposed to be hot (it seems all Mac portables have hot bottoms) but is the heat from the top something to worry about?
Strangely, my 6-year-old Pismo doesn't seem to put out as much heat as my iBook, although that might just be the casing design.

Its not normal, my battery is barley even warm.
