Is not showing Edited version

iPhoto is not showing the edited version of images as I browse albums or events. When I publish an album to MobileMe, the original is uploaded.
BUT, when I have an image up and click Edit, the edits I made previously DO SHOW UP!
Any ideas?
Rick

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Photos not showing edit version in e-mail

Edits in camera raw not incorporated into e-mailed photos on screen.
I am using camera raw in bridge 3.0.0.464 and a Imac with operating system OS 10.5.6
Images print OK from files but when attached to e-mails the version on screen doesn't match previous edits made in Camera Raw.

If you've made adjustments that are only kept in metadata, you have to open the file in Photoshop and save a copy first, then mail it. Otherwise, you're just mailing the unadjusted original without the metadata.

  • Configure "Always hide forms document message bar" and "Do not show edit warnings" for all users?

We need to do a mass deployment of Adobe Reader XI 11.0.3 with "Always hide forms document message bar" preference setting automatically set for every user so they do not have to go through the menu and set it manually.
Is there a way to configure this for all users with the customization wizard or another method?
We also need to do the same for "Do not show edit warnings"
If these are registry keys, which registry keys set these options?

    Try http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/DocumentStatus.html?zoom _highlight=message#idkeyname_1_5647.
If that doesn't work and there's a configuration item in the preferences UI, do this:
    Get regshot.
    Close everything but Acrobat/Reader.
    Take a reg shot.
Configure the setting via the UI.
    Tak another reg shot.
    Compare the two.
That process will give you your answer.
If there is no corresponding pref in the UI, then you probably can't do it.

  • App Store not showing app version number anymore.

I noticed that starting from a few weeks back, Apps with new updates in the 'Updates' tab do not show the version number of the app. Now only the app size in MB and 'What's New' is shown.
Anybody can shed light on this ?
    Thanks.

It is not in the Applications folder?
Otherwise, I would suggest the Combo update

  • Aperture 2.1 does not show edits from Photoshop Elements 6 on a PPC

I am trying the Aperture 2.1 trial - and, so far I like it. However, when I use it with Photoshop Elements 6 as an external editor in Aperture on my iMac G5 PPC it seems to create another copy (as it should) but when I try to save the edited version in Aperture I see two versions of the original - both the same! I do not see the edited version at all. The copy has a round circle in bottom right corner. I have tried for hours with many edits and cannot find them in Aperture.
However, when I do exactly the same edits - on the same photos - using my Intel Macbook Pro it works as it should! I see the original and alongside is the edited version!
Why does this not work the same with my Power PC?
I have tried trashing the .plist preference of Aperture on the PPC but still does not work.
Cab anyone please help? I have a lot of 35mm slides to scan - using the Macbook Pro - and I want to edit using the iMac as the screen is much bigger!
    thanks

Brilliant! Problem solved - thank you Barbara! Thanks also Victor who identified the 'save' as the problem!
Just for your info I then realised why this had happened. I first used the trial with iPhoto - on the PPC - and I chose in the Preferences 'Save as' rather than Save. I forgot the non destructive nature of the edits and that 'saving over' is not the same as replace! As soon as I changed the preference on the PPC back to the default of save over - it worked as on the Intel Mac. My edit now appears alongside the original (and it has a small circle at bottom right corner)
This is great - I have now ordered Aperture and look forward to testing how to get the best out of using it with PS Elements 6 (which is also very good)
Thank you all for these discussions. It is fantastic to be able to get such speedy advice - and problems solved - by so many helpful experts!
I am grateful - best wishes

  • IPhoto picture transfer to iMovie not showing edits

I have edited a picture in iPhoto with a Vignette effect but when I go to pull the picture into iMovie, the effects do not show up even though the effects appear in the thumbnail. So frustrating, please help!

Are you able to drag the thumbnail of the edited photo from iPhoto to the Desktop and have the edit in the resulting image file?

  • IPhoto 9.5.1 will not export edited versions of my photos.

I cannot export edited versions of my photos (specifically cropped photos) in iPhoto 9.5.1 using Mavericks. This is driving me nuts. I've tried duplicating the photos, saving them in different formats . . . no dice. This is very annoying. Without photo editing, iPhoto is pretty useless.

You can use 3rd party editors from within iPhoto.  Here are some of those:
Some Image Editors That Support layers:
    Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac - $79
    Rainbow Painter - $30
    Imagerie - $38
    Acorn - $50
    Pixelmator - $60
    Seashore - Free
    GIMP for Mac - Free
    Xee 2.1 - free
I would suggest you try one of the free ones and make sure that iiPhoto will export the edited version before you purchase an editor.  The following is for Photoshop Elements but would be applicable to most of the editors listed above, particularly the part about keeping the file extension as jpeg and not one created by the editor.
Using Photoshop Elements or Photoshop as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements  the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note 1: screenshots are from PSE 10
Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

  • 7936 not showing software version and vlan issue

I have a 7936 that does not show the software version. I have installed the newest load on the callmanager, but still cannot see what version it is running on the phone.
My main issue with the phone is that I have to set the switchport access vlan to the voice vlan, if I try to let the phone use the swithport voice vlan, it will pull an IP address off of the data vlan and not the voice vlan.
Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. I do rate all helpful posts.

    Hi Robert,
    Here is some info that may help;
    Verifying Firmware Version Information
You can obtain information about the firmware version installed on the IP Conference Station.
Follow these steps to verify the firmware version on an IP Conference Station:
Step 1 Press the Menu button.
Step 2 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select the Admin Setup menu.
Step 3 Press the Select button.
Step 4 Enter the administrator password. (The default administrator password is **#.)
Step 5 Press the Enter softkey.
Step 6 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select System Information.
Step 7 Press the Select button.
Step 8 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select SW Version.
The firmware version number is displayed.
    Or if that is not working try accessing this way;
    Using the Web Interface
Follow these steps to access the Cisco IP Conference Station 7936 web interface:
Step 1 Open your web browser.
Step 2 In the address field enter:
http:// IP address of the IP Conference Station:
Configuration information applies to the specific IP Conference Station associated with the IP address you enter.
Note If you changed the HTTP port number, you need to use that number as a suffix to the IP address. If you did not change the HTTP port number, then you do not need to enter a suffix.
The web interface appears, and the initial login page is displayed.
Step 3 To log in as the administrator, enter the administrator password and click Login.
The default administrator password is **#.
Note When logged in to the IP Conference Station web pages, the web pages will time out after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity. You will then have to log back in.
Step 4 To log off, click Administrator Logout.
Information Available on All Web Pages
The top right portion of the Cisco IP Conference Station 7936 web interface includes a separate section that displays consistent information for all of the web pages.
This section contains the following information; example text appears next to each item in the list:
    Software Version: 3.3(2.00)
    Protocol Type: SCCP
    Boot Load ID: PC0503031418
    Application Load ID: CMTERM_7936.3-3-2-0
    IP Address: 10.1.1.11
    MAC Address: 00c742655892
    Local Number: 2022
As far as the VLAN issue goes, this has always been the case for our 7935's as well and I'm sure the 7936 is the same.
    Switchport mode access
    Switchport access VLAN XXX
    Hope this helps!

  • Lightroom not showing edits made in ACR

I edited photos in Adobe Camera Raw from Bridge, but when I look at the same files in Lightroom, they do not appear to include the edits.  I did verify that xmp files were created when I edited the files in ACR.  Why is Lightroom not reading the xmp file and showing the edits?

I appreciate the detailed response.  I have been told by a photography instructor that it makes sense to use both Lightroom and Photoshop together and that Lightroom is for end-to-end workflow (which Photoshop is not capable of).  I was not aware that Lightroom is only designed for front-end workflow.  Is there any formal documentation on this that I can read to understand the purpose of Lightroom?
The Adobe website has some good introductory videos. I think this is a great place to start:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/george-jardine-on-lightroom/the-lightroom-catalog/
but the other videos can be found behind the Products and Channels links toward the top of that video's webpage.
The recommendation to use Lightroom with Photoshop, rather than LR on its own, is somewhat akin to recommending Bridge + ACR + PS, except it makes less sense to even think of using Bridge+ ACR on thier own without Photoshop. You can do a lot with LR on its own but not quite everything. On the other hand, those specific tasks which you cannot do in LR may be done using some other editing software than PS, including many cheap and even free alternatives, or using older versions of PS even if they are not ACR-compatible with your camera.
When you use Bridge, the Raw conversion and similar types of parametric editing are assigned to ACR and the rest is passed to Photoshop. Bridge cannot directly print or export without calling on another program or utility to do that. It can only view preview thumbnails and manage metadata and issue instructions to other software. ACR cannot paint, warp, use layers, etc - because it belongs to the same basic class of software, as Lightroom's Develop module capabilities.. in fact there is a very close functional correspondence between these two, and deliberately so; so that the image adjustment parameters involved can be inter-compatible.
When you use Lightroom, the Raw conversion and parametric editing can be very efficiently taken care of internally by LR so ACR does not need to be involved. This works especially well for dynamically applying edits across batches of images on the fly, previewing the effect of processing presets (recipes), making use of a full history of the changes applied to each image, and so on, You can print or export directly without leaving the parametric realm, a little as if you were able to do so from inside ACR.
But when an image editing task is required that is not of this parametric kind (such as compositing, detailed retouching other than a little dustspotting, etc) then just as Bridge can pass an image into PS that will be saved as a new file version, Lightroom can also do the same using its own workflow that does not involve Bridge.
The method is very simple: a new LR image version is created based on a brand new working file saved to disk. Ctrl+E or right-click and select "Edit in... Photoshop". and your image as it currently appears in LR, is automatically opened inside PS. Save when you are finished, and the PS-edited changes appear inside LR transparently. Then you carry on working with that, in the same way as for any other image inside LR,

  • Dreamweaver does not show current version of page

Not sure how to describe this problem. When I open a page in dreamweaver for editing, the text is not the text I put there recently. If I do I "live view" it IS the text the should be there, if I preview in a browser it IS the right text as well. I can't edit the site at all. I have little enough work coming in without losing more clients because of this sudden glitch. First everything was crashing after the Snow Leopard update, then as that seems to be working better, this happens! Ive been using Dreamweaver since macromedia version 1 and I've had issues but nothing this strange. Any ideas?

    Hmmm...
Make sure you are having valid code in your page.
Try running it at http://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_input once and see if there are any errors.
DW may not be able to show your content if you have invalid code as it will get confused on what to display.

  • Half my photos suddenly not showing up (version 7.1.5)

arghhhh, half my albums have disappeared!
    this is what happened:
i had just imported some new photos into iphoto. then i proceeded to upload some of them onto my facebook page using the facebook exporter within iphoto. i have done this many times without problems. the export kept failing as it did not like one of the jpegs (must have been a corrupt file?).
i tried a few times again to do the export, but no luck.
then when i went back to iphoto i noticed that about half my library was missing (all albums from 2008-2010 were not there).
all the actual individual jpeg files are still on my HD, thank god.
i just want to know how to rebuild my iphoto back to how it was...
have tried the "rebuild" as mentioned on apple's help page but it made zero difference.
can anyone please advise me on what to do? any help appreciated!

i just want to know how to rebuild my iphoto back to how it was...
Only one way to that precisely: restore from your back up.
    Otherwise:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
