Is Office XP no longer supported in BPC 7 MS Version?

Hi experts,
Does anybody know if Office XP (Office 2002) is still supported in BPC7 (we're on Sp3)? The Installation guide does not mention it for the Admin and Client prerequisites but it does appear in section 7 (requirements for TS and Citrix).
On the other hand we've found that there are a few SAP Notes in which Office XP is mentioned so we're not 100% sure whether there is an omission in the documentation or either a typo.
Thanks,
Ibai Madariaga

Ibai,
Thank you for finding this.
As I know, Office XP was not tested fully for BPC 7M but for making sure. I will check it soon and will post it.
Thank you.

  • Upgraded my iMac and Office software no longer supported but I have many documents to access.

I recently upgraded my iMac and all its contents were transferred over to the new Yosemite model from Snow Leopard. I find I can no longer open and use the software Office for Mac 2004 and all its associated documents.
    Message reads 'not supported'
Any suggestions, or do I need to buy new software

It's a shame then that Apple don't fully test their OS before unleashing it on the wider community, I wouldn't be in this situation if Maverics hadn't totally fu***d up my iMAC! Previous installs of new OS's have been faultless, my MAC is the best PC I have owned and I am never going back to Windows, however my purchases should remain 'MY PURCHASES' and should still be available for me to redownload because they are still in the 'MY PURCHASES' area of the App Store. If they are no longer available then users should be warned that unavailable items are about to be removed from the store before it happens. Backups of my music, files and external software purchases I have, the App Store purchases install directly and as such are not available as a download .dmg file....or are they, am I doing something wrong!!!

Norton has a pop-up window warning that they are not protecting my web browsing while using this version of Firefox 16.0.1.
So I have switched back to using Safari.

Can you ask this question to norton support too...As far as we know Norton support Firefox 16.

  • Just started getting "Firefox no longer supports your operating system version..." I don't care. How do I turn off this message?

Just started after the last update

I've started Firefox in Windows 2000 compatibility mode under Wine and got the Software Update window after a short time.
I see this pref on the about:config page: extensions.firefox-hotfix.unsupportedOSLastPrompt
Seems to be related to this extension: Firefox Notification Hotfix 20120430.01:

You can try to disable or remove that extension on the Tools > Add-ons > Extensions page.

  • How can I view the videos of adobe flash player that apple no longer support?

How can I view the videos from the internet and networking of adobe flash player that apple no longer support?

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Firefox no longer supports your operating version and will be vulnerable to online attacks

    Hey Firefox,
Long time user, first time writer. Lately, apropos of nothing, I've been getting a pop up stating:
    "URGENT!
Firefox no longer supports your operating system version and will be vulnerable to online attacks.
    <a>Learn More</a>"
And that doesn't sound like you guys. I'm using Mac OS 10.5. All my updates have been downloaded, the opening screen of this site tells me I'm up to date. Is this some kind of trick? I also have a screen shot of the occurrence, though not the url.
    Please help. Thanks guys,
    jen

Long time user and frustrated by this... is the solution to stop using Firefox? Because I certainly can't afford to go buy a new Mac just because I'm not eligible for newer operating system upgrades. My Mac isn't even that old... Suggestions?

  • HT1338 Microsoft Office Mac taken off my computer because no longer support by Apple?

My software for Office mac 2004 is no longer on my latop as it is no longer supported? I dont understand, Now I do not have any software?

Let me see if I can make a few educated guesses and save you some time:
You had Office 2004 running on your MacBook but recently upgraded to Lion (or Mountain Lion).  When you attempt to run any component of Office 2004, you get a Dialog Box that PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Your best and easiest solution (although maybe not the cheapest) is to upgrade to Office 2011 and everything should work fine again!
    Two factual corrections:
    1. Apple extensively publicized the fact that Lion would no longer include Rosetta.  The problem is that the everyday normal PowerPC app Mac user had no idea what Rosetta was, that they were using it nor what its absence in Lion would mean for their everyday life!
    2.  Apple's license to use the underlying technology of Rosetta expired with the release of Lion (and now Mt. Lion).  The third party company that licensed this technology to Apple back in 2005/2006, was acquired by IBM, who still champions the PowerPC platform.
It is doubtful that IBM would have re-licensed this technology to Apple at any reasonable price...  Apple's "feelings" had nothing to do with it.

  • I upgraded my Mac from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  I did have Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 in my applications and now get a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported."

I just upgraded my MAC from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  When I try to access my Microsoft Office for MAC (2004 edition) files I am getting a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported.  How can I access all of my save Word documents?  I just want to be able to retrieve all of my documents that were in Microsoft Office for Mac (2004).  If I purchase the newest version of MS office for Mac from Apple will I be able to retrieve my old documents?

Use any number of free alternatives to your nearly decade old version of MS Office.
    Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice (free)
    OpenOffice (free)
In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for years. Life is better without Microsoft.

Right click your document, hover over "Open with..." and then click "Other".
    Find TextEdit and click "Open".
TextEdit will then do it's best to open your document.
If you have iLife, do the same but instead of opening with TextEdit open with Numbers, Pages, Keynote, e.t.c.

  • Lion and "powerPC applications no longer supported" with hp Office jet printer

I have an HP office jet 5510 all in one printer that is no longer compatible with my recent installation of Lion.  The "powerPC applications are no longer supported" prompt comes up when I try to open the app on my dashboard.  Do I need to buy a new printer? To have it be compatible with Lion? If I do, which type of printer and software do I need to be sure of to make the two compatible with Lion?

Possibly.  Check the HP website and make sure your drivers up to date.  If you need a new printer, look for one that says it is compatible with Lion.

Hi, I just tried to open Word and this message appeared - 'You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.' I just recently loaded OS X Lion does this mean my software for MS Office is now out of date?  Do I have to purchase a new package? Any help appreciated.

    Hello:
Office 2004 was written for the PowerPC chip only.  There is no emulation in OS X 10.7.
I encountered the same issue sometime ago when I updated to OS X 10.7.
There is one option that I might mention (other than buy Office 2011).  I switched to Apple's iWork.  Pages (the word processing package) is completely compatible with Word.  If you export Pages documents, you can export them in formats compatible with Microsoft programs.  iWork also contains programs that are compatible with Office presentation and spreadsheet packages.
The reason I mention this is that the cost is about 1/2 of the cost of Office.
