[IS-OIL] Documentation of FM OIGI_LOADING_CREATE ??

Hello,
As far as I can see, there is no documentation for the FM OIGI_LOADING_CREATE (for creating a load confirmation). Is there a place (book/website/...) where I can find more information about the function's parameters?
Thanks in advance!
With kind regards,
Sven

  • Oil Paint Feature Request:  Preview / No Preview Capability

A feature notably absent from the Oil Paint filter is any way to temporarily disable the effect (e.g., not preview it).
I happen to like using Oil Paint to make refllections in the surface of water smoother and more "liquid" (which involves turning off the "Shine"), and it would really be nice if I could easily gauge the amount of the effect easily by blinking back and forth between original and processed image with a quick "disable preview" functionality.
With most standard filters, one can either uncheck a [ ] Preview box, and/or click the mouse button down on the image to temporarily show what the image is like without the effect.
Yes, I know I can turn the Stylization down to 0.1 and see how a very minimal amount of the effect can be  applied.  And I can look at the original image in Photoshop proper, but of course that can't be zoomed while the Oil Paint filter is active.
Also, the zooming / panning seems kind of stiffly implemented.
In summary, the more or less standard and expected filter features I'd like to see added to this (new class of) GPU-accelerated filters are:
Preview/No Preview capability.  It doesn't have to update Photoshop, just the preview display in the filter itself.  I suggest a [  ] Preview checkbox and/or an on-mouse-click temporary effect disable.
Modal click and drag Zooming vs. Panning - i.e., based on a Zoom or Pan function selected (e.g., via an icon along the left) vs. having to hold modifier keys down.  I personally would want it set to Zoom by default, not Pan.  Since the filter has scroll bars (a Good Thing), I would have thought Zoom would have been a better default as it is.
I have implemented these things in my own GPU-accelerated plug-ins, so I know that all the infrastructure Adobe needs to support them is already in there.  These changes are controls only and should be trivial to implement.
P.S., There may be well-meaning folks amongst you who will want to suggest I post this over on Photoshop.com.  Not going to happen.  That forum is even more irritating than this one, and frankly I want little to do with it.  I think the concept of public voting on features is ridiculous.  If Adobe sees this here and chooses to consider it, fine.  If not, fine.

While I can’t find the thread currently I think Mr.Cox commented on one occasion that the expenditure of updating the older filters’ (like Radial Blur) interface would have to be justified with (extensive) documentation of advantages and/or what-not.
As a user it just seems clear that Filters should appear homogenous, but the persons holding the purse strings seem to have another take on the issue.
TRUE!  I have long been critical of Adobe's reluctance to revisit older parts of their software and bring them up to date, so as a result we users have to live with a hodge-podge of variations on the UI - and also more importantly in functionality.  Why, for example, doesn't someone think it's important to fund development to bring all the older artistic filters up to date so they work on 16 bit data?  There really is an obvious downside to Adobe having no competition.  The product has gotten damned sloppy as a result.  For example, an engineer developing a new feature can pick and choose from any number of other features already in existence (however outdated) and make the new one work the same way, claiming compatibility with something already there, and thus "good enough".

  • SAP Best Practice for Chemicals in an oil refinery

Does anyone have experience in implementing the SAP Best Practice for Chemicals in an oil refinery that will also use IS-OIL?
What would be the pros and cons?
What is the implementation price of considering a best practice solution for a large complex organization?
    Oded Dagan
    Oil Refineries LTD.
    Israel

    Hi Oded,
I don't know about any Best Practice Chemicals implementation in an refinery so far.
But you can use Best Practice Chemicals with SAP IS-Oil for the non IS-Oil functionality as well.
Best Practice Chemicals gives you benefits within standard business processes, but for the
IS-Oil business processes you have to consider the traditon implementation methods.
Best Practice Chemicals gives you a broad business process set, usually used in Chemical
corporation. If you can cover 50% of your needed business processes out of Best Practice Chemicals you save approx 50% implementation time. It is not only implemenentation you save a lot in documentation and training material as well. Most of our Best Practice Chemicals implemenations used
60-80% out of Best Practice Chemicals. At a large corporation the percentage of standard ERP processes is normally smaller, because of other additional needed SAP solutions e.g. APO, SRM, CRM etc.

  • Oil and Gas

We' re implementing Oil & Gas and I would like to know where I can find Oil-specific sales and purchasing data? Which ones are the InfoCubes to have SD and purchasing info specific to IS-OIL.
    Thanks in advance.
    Patricia.

I appreciate your help Jorge. I saw that documentation before, the only issue is for example in table vbkd that is a lot of fields starting with 0OI_* (means Oil and Gas module) that I can't find where they will be extracted for BI. The standard SD does not have this fields and lcan't find anything in  the documentation of Oil and Gas about this either.
    Thanks again!
Regards and I still need help!

  • IS Oil specific Sales Order Creation thru any Function Module

    Hi All,
Do you know any FM which can be used to create Sales Orders for Oil specific values.
there is a FM which creates the Sales Contracts - RFC_SDCONOIL_CREATEFROMDATA. Can we use this FM to create the Sales Orders.
    Thanks
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
You can use the TAS function module OIK_SD_CALLOFF_CREATE for creating a sales call-off with Oil specific values.
There is no documentation for the function module. You would have to browse through the FM to know the usage for your requirements.
If you need an example for using the function module you can look at the TSW FM OIJ_EL_DOCG_CREATE_SD_CALLOFF. This function module is used for creating a call-off through TSW ticketing..

  • IS OIL -QM implementation

    Hi experts,
I'm a QM consultant and i want to know how QM is involved in IS OIL.I tried to do some RnD in help.sap but i could not find anything that convinced me about QM involvement.Im looking for any kind of suggestion that will show some light for me to know more about QM in IS OIL.Specifically the use of say Pooled samples and Umpire rules(tolerance keys and formulas) to be used in inspection plan..I'm looking forward to some help as i'm very new to IS-OIL.Thanks
    regards,
    Naik

All the things you mentioned are already in QM.  Except for the umpire rules you mentioned.. I'm not familar with them.
You should find all the standard QM functionality in QM IS OIL.  The question is if they have provided any additional functionality for QM.  I have no idea on that. You'd have to check their documentation.  But as you indicate, it can be slim pickings in some of these special releases.

  • Quantity conversion in Is-Oil

    Hi Gurus,
How the Funciton module OIB_QUANTITY_CONVERSION working in Is-Oil quantity conversion.
This conversion is very cumbersome and not able to understand it..
Awaiting your reply as early as possible
    Regards,
    Vanisree

    Dear Vanisree,
function module OIB_QUANTITY_CONVERSION is part of the SAP QCI sub screen (function group OIB_QCI_SUB_SCREEN). It basically calls the central oil & gas product conversion function OIB_QCI_QUANTITY_CONTROL (perform quantity_conversion).
Function OIB_QCI_QUANTITY_CONTROL is documented in English by SAP, just navigate to transaction SE80 (log on to your system in English) and select function group OIB_QCI, there you choose function OIB_QCI_QUANTITY_CONTROL and select the push button "Function Module Documentation".
Depending what you want to achieve within your development, you may also be able to utilize function OIB_QCI_CONVERSION_SIMPLE, which has a less generic interface tailored by SAP for application developers, that function is also documented.
Since oil quantity conversions, and even more so natural gas and LNG quantity conversions, are very complex, this complexity is tackled with the generic interface you observed.
That is one of the many reasons why e.g. QuantityWare offers the SAP certified products BCP 10A and BCG 10A, which contain a Petroleum Measurement Cockpit / Gas Measurement Cockpit and complete configuration templates to help reducing the complexity in designing & running complex oil & gas quantity conversions:
    http://www.quantityware.com/_data/QuantityWare_PetroleumMeasurementCockpit_SP09.pdf
I hope this helps a bit,

I am working on the Implementation project for the Oil and Gas industry.
    Scenario is
The business is to look for the oil/gas etc within a location or project site. For this drilling is done and blasting is done and data acquisition is done and after that data is processes and data interpretation is done.
and client is having projects at different sites. every site has a no . of equipments and their stocks as well.
Now the problem is how to map this scenario. How to configure the project sites and issuance of material and capturing of expenses. etc.

  • Oil Conversion

    Dear All,
    My Questions comes here..
Like in IS-Oil we have oil conversion for oil derivatives/products which is of a great help to find the volume of stock at various temperatures and density for various products.
Do IS-Oil and Gas Support Quantity conversion?
If yes, JOT down the scenarious/examples for Gas Business?
Also do Gas business need the Quantity conversion?
If Yes how do we go further in activating the same, what is the TCODE,
Links on SAP.con will be helpfull
    Regards,
    Dantham Conpolweson

    Dear Dantham,
Both SAP industry solutions you refer to above do support quantity conversions for bulk products, which is an important capability for all logistics processes. Depending on the solution, I recommend as a start to read the SAP documentation:
SAP Oil & Gas Upstream: Production and Revenue Accounting:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/ec/9d2c3adcc8431be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    which contains the Measurement System:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/c2/b10a3a0a59ee24e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
SAP Oil & Gas (IS-Oil Downstream):
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/01/c7183619b5a45ee10000009b38f889/frameset.htm
    Oil quantity conversion:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/70/23cb8d419311d2ac100000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    Gas quantity conversion:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/9d/a79ca4e47611d3b2cd005004f769aa/frameset.htm
Both the Measurement system for Upstream Production and the Downstream logistics processes ultimately utilize the SAP Quantity Conversion Interface (QCI), which can be configured (via conversion groups) for any kind of complex quantity conversions. See SAP FAQ note 308022 for details, as well as e.g. http://www.quantityware.com/_data/QWare_QCI_Info.pdf .
SAP Certified solutions like e.g. BCP 10A http://www.quantityware.com/product/index.php?rubric=27
    and BCG 10A http://www.quantityware.com/product/index.php?rubric=28
provide measurement standard based implementations of petroleum and natural gas measurement standards which are connected via the QCI to support all logistics processes.
In order to utilize the bulk quantity conversions within your system, you have to assign a conversion group to a delivery network (SAP PRA) or a material (IS-Oil Downstream) in the material master.
Any implementation project where quantity conversions are required should follow a state-of-the-art methodology, see for example: http://www.quantityware.com/_data/BCG10A_Project_Assessment_and_Implementation_Guidelines_SP01.pdf
Yes, natural gas and LNG business processes do also require quantity conversions, see e.g. SAP note 713382.
Maybe this helps for a start,
    Kind regards,
    Markus
