Is OVI Maps supported on C2-02 in India?

Nokia India website says OVI Maps is supported on C2-02 in India. I installed OVI Maps using OVI suite and it said maps was successfully installed. However, I cant find the application icon in the phone memory/sd card. I took this to the Nokia Care Center and they said OVI maps is not supported.
Trying to figure out if OVI Maps is supported in India on Nokia C2-02? How do i get OVI Maps on Nokia C2-02?

  • Ovi Maps Help/Support

    Hello,
I have installed the new Ovi Maps on my N97 on 7 July and it was fantastice upgrade. Gps locked on quickly and the map was excellent. However, yesterday I needed to use the sat nav on the phone and after launching Maps, everything map wise has disappeared!!! The GPS still picks up sattelites and locks on to my position, except on an offwhite coloured map with nothing to follow. I don't know what to do, I have free European License until Oct 09, does this mean outside of UK and the free license I got for UK, when i first got the phone is gone?
Any advice/help would be much appreciated as I am due to go to London this Friday and need to use my phone's sat nav for the journey.
    Thanks,
    Don Kerleone

Try putting a post in the Ovi Maps section, you may get more help than here.

  • Ovi Maps does not launch anymore on my 5800 Xpress...

I have the latest ovi maps for my nokia 5800 (3.06, and also the latest firmware of the 5800), and everything was working fine until yesterday when I click the Map icon, the application is not launching... I did not install anything new, it just does not want to launch the application (no error message, just like i did not press the icon). I had the same issue couple of weeks ago when suddenly the ovi maps stopped working (i had to reset my phone and reinstall everything), and today it's the same all over again...
Do you have any idea how to fix this? (i have around 40Mo left in my phone memory, so there should not be any memory problem i guess....)
    Thanks!

Presumably you have Ovi Maps v3.06 (688) installed http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/ ovi_maps_installer_3.06_11wk23_b05_s60_5...
Don't know whether you restored from a backup after resetting device and have re-introduced a problem.
Perhaps try removing E:\Cities + .qf fle from 5800 and store safely on PC desktop, as empty folder structure re-created when you next open Ovi Maps application.

  • Ovi Maps 3.03 Weather icon is still absent (E72)

Weather icon in Ovi Maps 3.03 (E72) disappeared on May-1-2011 and still seems to be absent.
It's in Online mode and other Ovi Maps online services work OK  (Lonely Planet, More, Events)
I did notice similar recent messages posted here about weather icon being gone on Ovi Maps 3.04 and 3.06.
While the original posters replied that the icon has since been restored (due to service technical issues), however it's still absent in Ovi Maps 3.03, at least on E72 (in USA).
I'm not sure if anybody else could confirm this issue in similar configuration.

Presumably you have made a conscious decision to remain with OVI Maps v3.03 rather than v3.04 available here?http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-down...

  • How to install OVI Map navigation for N95

Ok, getting very frustrated with this now.  I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work.  I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.
Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them.  When i go to www.nokia.com/maps on the phone it doesnt do anything.  I've been trying for over a day now and the phone has almost made contact with the wall a few times - sorry to be a numpty, but how do you install the OVI map navigation stuff on the N95! :-)

    @Cowes67
Let's clear up any misunderstanding here, upon N95 there is no legititimate way of obtaining free voice navigation with version of Ovi Maps upon N95 as you would need to purchase a license!
You should run Ovi Maps application with a microSD inserted in N95 which will re-create necessary folder structure for Nokia Suite > Maps to recognise it.
Please note that standalone version of Nokia Maploader apart from version for Mac users ceased to be functional several years ago.
I still have N95 in use so post again if any further queries over this issue.

  • Ovi map on 2700c

Hello everyone, i am using nokia 2700c..It has ovi map pre-installed in it. But the problem is whenever i search a place it shows no result. And if luckily it shows result then it doesnt shows the place means it just shows the blanck page with no area map...please anyone help...

    @Jas14
2700 Classic is very difficult to offer Nokia Maps support for as some early firmware versions had Nokia Maps installed whereas later ones did not.
Without GPS it is just like having a "paper" map installed on your phone, there is more advice on how to download more mapping if needed although space is an issue in this thread:/t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/nokia-2700-clasic/m-p/1048665/message-uid/1048665/highlight/true#U104866...

  • Ovi map search offline problem

Whenever I search for a location offline on my E72, I end up with no results available.
After fiddling with my phone for the better half of a day (including first using online search then turning off the internet to use offline search), I tried deleting all the maps on my memory card and installing only the maps for the areas I need through the OVI suite. Having read earlier threads on this topic, I was sure to wait until the index files were fully transferred.
Now the offline search works, but only for locations within my own city. For locations in the neighboring city, though only a few dozen miles away, I end up again with no results available.
Is this normal or is there any other way I can try fixing it? Thanks.

    Hi sherryglass
Unfortunately I think it is also related to size of country, as with world maps on E72 I can do detailed search of UK "Offline" but say for example USA it has to be "Online"; that said access point in OVI Maps application can be via WLAN or network.

  • OVI map problem with E52

    Hi,
Iv been using E52 for the past 11 months and loved the way OVI maps worked but about 2 months back i had some serious problem related to keypad and since the customer care couldn't fix it they replaced it with a new E52. I am not able to use OVI Maps properly on this new E52 meaning my current location is being shown and also in the search option I am able to search for places but when I am selecting the location and opting for drive to or walk to option then the waiting for GPS option keeps me waiting forever. With my previous E52 this problem never exsisted and the route map was created immidiately. I dont mind using the map service over the GPRS instead of GPS. I have updated the firmware and also installed the latest nokia OVI map software, updated the maps but still facing the problem.
    Please Advise.

    Welcome to the forum!
I am assuming that you will have the same functions as on my E72 a similar S60 3rd FP2 device.
Suggest that you go to Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings > General > scroll down list to "Positioning"  > Positioning methods - temporarily disable ALL except Integrated GPS, go outside away from tall buildings if feasible, open OVI Maps application and wait 20 -30 minutes necessary for it to establish very first positional lock.

  • Ovi maps - turn off

    Hi,
Just wanted to discuss and get your feedback on when do you plan on including voice navigation and updated maps on N900, since its coming pre installed or easily downloaded on various other low cost phones by Nokia - when can we really enjoy Ovi and Nokia products, i switched from sony ericsson years ago, and have tried couple of phones until N900 which has really dispointed as compared to other phones and their support. Although i must say N900 is the best phone i've ever used, and i wish i could have all the functions and features as i enjoyed on less expensive phones

please broswe the forum with greater detail as this has been discussed.
their focus is on meego not maemo, so the n900 will most likely NOT get OVI MAPS VGN unless it is easily ported after meego release.

  • OVI Maps update on N8

Hi, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere.

Yes, it's probably the new 3.06 official release that you have got via the Ovi Suite update which became available for N8 on the 7th Dec.
A newer beta version of 3.06 continues still to be available at Beta Labs. It contains some additional features compared to the current 3.06 release, e.g. downloading of street maps directly to the phone.

    Hi bolsenior
Whilst in OVI Maps click "Search" (turn phone into landscape mode so that you can use full screen alphanumeric keyboard) and input co-ordinates as DD MM SS.SSS n DD MM SS.SSS w but you can miss off "leading zero's".

    Welcome to the forum!
It would probably help to open this Nokia resource:https://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/e73/how-to/positioning/positioning... although it may be a little out of date as OVI Maps v3.04 slightly different.
Suggest that you only ENABLE "Integrated GPS" positioning method and go outside away from tall buildings for perhaps 20 - 30 minutes to allow device to achieve first positional fix.
You can enable Assisted GPS positioning method which needs a network access point later.

  • N6110 Navigation don't recognize loaded ovi maps

After reformatting my memory card, I had many troubles. Firstly the restore from pc suite didn't work. I tried to start the card program. I stopped after 50% with an error. After many hours and searching the intranet I could start the card program. It allocated the cities directory on the memory card. After that I could load maps from OVI. The problem is the the navigator software only shows the world card as active. I have 2 more route66 cards license but not active. On route 66 those cards are no more available (product not found).
HOw can I get the Ovi maps recognized in the navigator?
Thanks for your help. I am despaired. The Nokia navigator was the best software I ever have seen.

    @N6110
    Welcome to the forum!
Presumably as you can no longer utilise Route66 to work on your 6110 Navigator you have decided to install Nokia_Maps_2.0_4503_3.1.sis from http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download#/nokia-6110-...
Ironically although S60 3rd FP1 device it can not run OVI Maps v3.01
Have you got a spare formatted microSD you can insert and then open Nokia Maps application on device to re-initialise application and define folder structure?
In the days when there was a separate Maploader application (no longer works) I seem to remember device was connected in mass storage mode for Nokia Maps, but of course has to be connected in PC Suite mode for OVI Suite to recognise it.
