Kindly throw some light on this .

    Subashini

    Hi Subahashini
As far as retail companies are concerned they are more into IS-Retail
which is nothing but Industry solutions for retail
This is similar to SD but more focussed on retail industry needs
    See this link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/12/084110470311d1894a0000e8323352/frameset.htm
Most companies use both...to know abt companies you can search in sap service website
    Is this useful?

  • Advanced Planning for the retail industry

    Hi,
First, I would like to know the best solutions for planning in the retail industry and if you can share with me more detail about these solutions.
Second, I want to understand the SCM menu....I know that under the point Advanced Planner and Optimzer are the DP, SNP, PPDS and GATP solutions......but I want to understand the point Forecasting and Replenishment, is it for the retail industry or what it is for?....how does it interact with SAP-Retail or the solutions that you explained in the first point?
    Thanks a lot!

SAP has avoided making any recommendations. I specifically asked one of their architects a similar question a couple of weeks ago.
In general the X12 and EDIFACT standards are king within the retail industry. Within the United States X12 has been the default standard for many years and is used by all the giants. Within the European Union EDIFACT is the default standard and is used by the vast majority of retailers. However the UK has a standard which is called Tradacoms. In my experience UK retailers have, when pushed, also offered EDIFACT messaging. It should be noted that these formats are not XML. However many XML convertors exist for them. X12, EDIFACT and Tradacoms are what are commonly referred to as Traditional EDI.
The GS1 standard called eCOM is being increasingly adopted. I do know that Accenture and CapGemini have recently been heavily involved in promoting GS1 and eCOM. This is because eCOM standard is realistically the most heavily backed replacement for the Traditional EDI standards. The several of the largest US and European retailers and manufactures are now throwing their weight behind eCOM.

  • Mapping Scenario for Retail Industry

    Hi,
I  want to know how to implement the following scenario for Sales Process
My customer is into retail industry. They have franchisee all over india. They buy material and supply material to all the location. (Which I mapped through Document Series and Sequence).
For Sales these people only know the closing stock from the respective franchisee i.e balance of the stock. right now they follow (Opening Stk - Closing stock = Sale Quantity) to get the sales.
How can we map the above mentioned scenario in SAP B1.
We are using SAP B12005B PL 40
    Regards
    Shashi

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. But actually what I am looking at the creation of A/R invoice, as it is not possible to enter item codes and select warehouses for branch for each row. I need some automised solution. so that when user from specific branch logsin that should show only the warehouse for that location. and items list should show which are there in the that particular warehouse.

  • I want to put windows 7 on my iMac. Do I use Windows 7, 64 bit System Builder or do I use a "retail copy" of the Windows 7, 64 bit ? Microsoft says I should use the System Builder copy. A technical support individual from Apple said use the "retail copy"

A Microsoft technical advisor said that the "retail copy" of Windows 7, 64 bit Home Premium would not work with Boot Camp to put the Windows operating system on the IMac. She said that I would have to use the System Builder copy of Windows 7 to put it on my iMac. An Apple technical advisor told me that I had to use the "retail copy" of Window 7 because that was the one used by Apple when they developed the Boot Camp program.  I have also seen some articles from Apple that suggests that both copies of Windows 7 would work OK. Does anyone have any experience that shows which one or both I should purchase to put on my computer?

    Welcome to ASC!
I used the 64-bit System Builder Edition when I bootcamped my 2010 iMac a couple of years ago. Worked perfectly--installed a very lean system. Without all the extra cr@pware that comes preinstalled on name-brand Win computers, the SBE OS actually works darned well.
However, that was under Mac OS 10.6.8 which remains on that computer for compatibilty reasons not related to Windows. Haven't BCed any newer Mac OS, so your mileage may vary.

  • How to Map SAP B1  for retail industry

    hi every one,
we r going to implement SAP B1 for a retail company which trades on shoes and bags. they have one Head office and 12 ware houses they simply buy finished goods from vendors and pack in their in house and sell it to customers. no production , MRP , how we can map it into SAP B1. iam thinking of using citixsys  Retail Add one is it possible ?  any other solutions?
    regards,
    rajan

If they have store fronts (actual physical retail stores) then you will need the CitiXsys Addon.  Otherwise, you can handle this out of the box in B1.

  • Can I use my retail CD to repair OEM version Win 7x64 HP

I want to repair (or reinstall  if necessary) Windows 7 x64 Home Prem but it's oem
and I don't know how/etc that works, and I'm running out of time.
    I have a retail CD I bought - same version Win 7 HP x64.
Any reason I can't use the retail CD to repair the oem ver?
Second, I don't have SP1, it was never offered by Windows Update (compatibility?).
Installing SP1 might achieve the same goal.
Should I avoid installing SP1 if it wasn't offered?

If its Windows 7 Home Premium RTM 64 bit, you won't be able to repair upgrade a Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 installed. You should download an updated copy then attempt the repair upgrade:
Download the corresponding edition of Windows 7 you have a license for from the following link.
    • Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)
    - 64 bit
ImgBurn - In addtion to supporting the creation of CD's from .ISO files,
it supports a wide range of other image file formats, and it's free.
(BIN, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, MDS, NRG, PDI and ISO)

  • WR01_SAVESITEDATA  used in retail site

    hi
trying to use WR01 to create a site for the first time.  Input selection is rather large, when I created a site and tried to view in wb02 I got the following message: "you are using a retail transaction. You selected a site not a retail site."
has anyone got experience how to enter the site data using this transaction or have an input template?
Or can this be used in retail? or is there is another retail transaction to use?

    Hi Lynn,
    it is definitely possible so please check the below note for more information;
    1865903 - WR01_SAVESITEDATA module for site creation
There is also this very useful SCN post related to mass data maintenance in IS Retail.
    Hope this helps!

  • Wireless in the Retail Industry

I have come across a few of my clients in the retail industry that have both bar code scanners and cash registers that connect to the wireless network. I just wonder how other retail giants deploy wireless networks considering the weaknesses in WEP. Most small bar code scanners don't support EAP and some may not even support WEP.
Any scenarios that could be thrown at me in terms of deploying a wireless newtork in retail industry with wireless bar code scanners and cash registers.
    Thanks in advance!
    James

Cisco's new WLAN security architecture goes well beyond traditional WLAN security to provide the following enhancements:
    * Centralized user-based authentication integrated with network logon
    * Dynamic WEP key distribution when integrated with Cisco AccessControl Server 2000 version 2.6
    * Broad client and operating system support
    * Framework for future security policies and integration of security into other network services such as mobility and QoS
The following is a good document which will give some WLAN case studies.

  • Retail Industry : How to Browse through Hierarchies

    Dear Friends,
I am at client using SAP Retail module. I want to know the popular Tcodes to navigate through the hierarchies and get feel of the data ( master and transaction ). Is there any certain approach that I can use to get started to make myself familiar with retail data setup.
    thks,
    Suba.

    Hi
Use the standard Menu W10T (you can enter it like a Transaction code) this will then bring up the SAP menu path for retaling.  Follow the menu  Logistics - Retailing, this is then broken into the areas Master Data, Purchasing, Merchandise Logistics, Sales etc.  here you can see how the master data and transactions are group for Retails.
