Is Port Replicator from Tecra 9100 compatible with Tecra M5?

I have a port replicator (model PA3082E 1PRP) for my malfunctioning 3 year old Tecra 9100. I am buying a Tecra M5. Do I need to get a new Port Replicator for the M5 or is my old one compatible with the new computer?

Hi
I think it should be compatible.
But on the Toshiba options and accessories site I have found only these supported devices with M5:
Advanced Port Replicator III PA3314E-1PRP
Advanced Port Replicator III plus PA3474E-1PRP
USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (Ethernet / EU Version) PX1173E-1PRP
USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (Ethernet / UK Version) PX1173U-1PRP
In my knowledge this are the newest port replicators which are available maybe therefore the old devices are not listed.
I think you could try to connect carefully the notebook with your old port replicator.

  • Will Installing LTR5 from CC  be compatible with full version LTR 5.7 on desktop ? will it over write any settings i have and what purpose will this serve?

will Installing LTR5 from CC  be compatible with full version LTR 5.7 on desktop ? I bought the standalone LTR5  couple years ago .So  will CC LTR5 overwrite any settings i have in This application ?And simply merge with what I have on desktop without too much trouble ? I have over 10,000 photos in Libraryin LTR5.7   Do  I Leave LTR5 IN CC alone even tho I am  paying for the Photgraphy package at 9.99?. whats the difference between the Lightrooms ? Thanks on clarifying !

There is only one version of the Lightroom program. The Lightroom standalone version, the student version, and the CC version are all the same program. The only difference is in how they are licensed. The standalone version that you are using is activated with a serial number. The CC installation is activated with your Adobe ID and Adobe password. I would suggest that you uninstall your standalone version. Then you will be able to install Lightroom from the creative cloud application manager. The application manager will keep track of updates for you as they are released. And when Lightroom 6 is released you will get it automatically, no additional charge, as part of your creative cloud subscription.
Uninstalling your current Lightroom will uninstall the program, but will leave the catalog and all user files as well as all of your images on the computer. Once you have installed Lightroom from the creative cloud manager you will be able to simply double-click on the desktop icon (which will look just like the old one) and start right where you left off. Everything will be intact, business as usual. I know this because I went through the process I have described when I joined the creative cloud. It happened just as I have described. There were no problems in switching.

  • Why is a video clip from iphoto not compatible with imovie?

i have a video clip in iphoto and when i try to add it by dragging it into the videos in imovie, it says "the file will not be imported. it is not compatible with imovie". this video clip was taken with my friend's point and shoot type camera, then put on her computer, then put on a flash drive, then put on my computer. thank you so much for any help!

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
Some "..point and shoot.." cameras create movies in an iMovie-compatible ".mov" format, but others create .avi files, or they record in the MPEG-1 format which iMovie can't unscramble.
Not all point and shoot movies are compatible with iMovie, even if they play using Apple's QuickTime movie player which iPhoto relies on.
These non-compatible movies need to be converted to .mov format, or some other compatible format such as DV or AIC, before trying to import them into iMovie. If you have QuickTime Pro, you can just open the movie clips and then use 'Export' to save them in the .mov format.
..More details from me - or others - later; I'm dashing out right now for a bite to eat..

  • Is iDVD from iLife 11 compatible with OS X Lion 10.7.3?

I recently bought a 21.5" Mid 2011 iMac and was surprised to find out that iDVD was not included. I am considering buying iLife 11 for $49.99 just for iDVD but I am not clear as to whether or not iDVD is even compatible with OS X Lion 10.7.3 ... Any info/feedback/help/suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

At this point I will probably deal with not having it or just get Toast from Roxio. Since Apple is phasing out iDVD who knows if it will just become incompatible eventually anyway.
I have both Toast and iDVD.  IDVD is vastly superior for making movies.
IDVD is not being phased out by Apple. They have simply stopped including it with new computers. Apple currently sells iDVD as part of iMovie 11 in the Apple Store. It is also available from Amazon.
It is unlikely that iDVD will become incompatible anytime in the next few years.  All Mac OSs and updates are tested for compatibility with iDVD.

  • Got the email from Apple Aperture compatible with future versions of iOS?  (Mac OS?)

Got the email from Apple about Aperture this morning.  They had a huge omission:  are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS? If not, I want, at a minimum, a refund for what I paid for the app.

They had a huge omission:  are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS?
There will be no further development of Aperture. That much should be clear from the announcement, that Aperture will no longer be sold at the AppStore.  You are lucky - you used the last chance to buy the best photos app  ever Apple created. The new Photos is not intended to be  used by professional photographers like Aperture was. And you will be able to use and enjoy it as long as you keep a compatible operating system on your Mac.

  • I can't restore my data from my iphone5s or ipad to my new iphone6, because it woulkd seem that none of the available backups from icloud are compatible with iOS 8.0.2, which is what the new iphone is running. (or so it seems).

Just received my iphone6, as my iphone5s gave up the ghost. Completely. I now want to restore everything that I had on my old phone to my new new one using icloud. However, when I arrive at the screen that asks you to select a backup version, it shows me a list, but then at the bottom of the screen there is a message that says that 'no icloud backups are compatible with the version of (8.0.2) on this iphone.' I also have an ipad, and both the 5 and the ipad were updated to 8.1. I did try to back up via itunes, but only got some of my photos's back and none of my messages, some of which had essential information on them. Anybody have any idea's? Any help gratefully recieved!

Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

  • Is LION 10.7.4 from App Store compatible with mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15"?

I just downloaded lion 10.7.4 from the app store, copied it to a pen drive in the right way (which makes it bootable & tested that and it boots on a 2008 MBP). Connected that pen drive to my 2012 MBP, booted by pressing the alt key, and when i selected the pen drive with the 10.7.4 installation, I get a no entry sign on the screen - basically meaning I cannot install lion.
Note that I have completely formatted my HD, thus losing the lion recovery partition, so thats why I am having to install from the pen drive.

You can install lion on that Mac you just have to start it and be sure to connect to a good internet connection. I suggest you are plugged in to a router directly. Then it should prompt you and when you sign in it will see that you purchased Lion and will verify your mac then it will guide you through the rest of the install. try doing that before you restoe it , you may waste alot of time considering you formatted. Otherwise if it is a mid-2012 it absolutely is compatible and you can call Applecare and they will guide you through it with ease.
The firmware on your mac is what will pull up the promt for connecting to the internet and other such utilities.
    Good luck and enjoy !

  • Is the IPhone 5 from T-Mobile compatible with At&t's LTE network?

I am getting ready to purchase an Iphone from T-mobile but I need to know if it will pick up at&t's LTE signal.
Any help from you gurus will be great!

That's my understanding. There is no "contract" any more with T-Mobile by the way. They've done away with that.
This actually got them in a bit of trouble in several states as they're advertising no contract (which is true for services) but also advertising "discounted" phones that aren't... the user has to sign an agreement to pay it back over time, which several Stata AGs are stating equates to a "contract".

  • Files to memory stick from mac not compatible with windows?

Before I installed leopard I was easily able to copy photos, files and other docs to my memory card sticks and have them read on windows no problem but not now with leopard.
What should I do? What's the best format to format the card so that windows users can read my files or that I can transfer my files to a HD from my mac and copy to windows.
    thanks

Well...it seems like my perfectly good 2GB card crashed on me. Your right, it doesn't work on any computer and it even failed the format option in windows.

  • Purchased songs from ITMS not compatible with iPod?

iTunes 7 screwed up my iPod completely:
    - On the "Summary" tab it said my iPod was Windows formatted, but it has NEVER been desecrated by a Windows machine (kidding, kidding...)
    - Even though when I plugged the ipod into my Powerbook, all the songs and playlists showed up, when I tried to use the iPod, NOTHING showed up under artists, songs, playlists, etc. Oddly enough, they only thing that was on there were my calendars.
    - Also on the "Summary" tab, the Restore button was grayed out. So as a last resort, I went into Disk Utility and completely erased the iPod, hoping that would give me a fresh start.
    - Instead, the screen turned black and white, repeatable force-reset itself, and flashed the message "Connect iPod to iTunes and restore", in 6 different languages.
Since iTunes 7 only seemed to be making things worse, I erased the application and downgraded to iTunes 6 and miraculously I was able to immediately restore the iPod normally and now it works just fine.
Issue it, I have about 15 songs that I recently bought off the ITMS. All of my other songs sync just fine, but with these 15 I get the message, "Some of the items in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPod "Munchkin" because your iPod software is too old. Go to www.apple.com/ipod/download to get the latest iPod Updater."
I would really like to get these songs onto my iPod. They play just fine in iTunes 6 - and one of them was even downloaded with iTunes 6 - so why would it even matter? I don't want to upgrade because I really don't want to take the risk of iTunes 7 messing up my iPod AGAIN. It took a lot of work to get it functional, and iTunes 6 has been working significantly better than 7 ever did.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Alison,
See if the following article helps at all:

  • Is the Adobe Digital Edition (e-reader from the library) compatible with Adobe Reader X

I have Adobe Reader X on my computer, and recently downloaded the Adobe Digital Edition so that I can read books from the library. However, when I attempt to download a book, the Adobe Reader X opens, and I get the message....
XXXX book could not be opened because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't properly decoded). Any idea what is going on and how I can correct this issue?
    Any responses are appreciated...

    Hi, Char.
Since your question doesn't relate to our CreatePDF service, I'm moving your question to the Adobe Reader forum.

  • Is the catalog from Lightroom 5 compatible with Lightroom 6? Also, can Lightroom CC 2015 and Lightroom 6 use the same catalog?

I am a current Lightroom 5.7 user - I have purchased and installed Lightroom 6, but have not launched the program yet - will LR 6 make changes to my LR 5 catalog, such that it cannot be used in LR5?
Also, can LR6 and LR CC 2015 share the same catalog?

Lightroom 6 will require an updated database are catalog format. When you first start Lightroom 6 after you have installed it, it will prompt you to upgrade your catalog. This will create a new copy of your catalog in the new format, leaving your Lightroom 5 catalog intact and usable if you still have Lightroom 5 installed. Lightroom 6 and Lightroom CC can use the same catalog. But they cannot share the same catalog because that catalog must be installed locally on both computers. The Lightroom catalog cannot be placed on a network drive.

  • Port Replicator III+ very high cpu when moving usb mouse only in W2k

    Tecra M2 with a port replicator III+
It's set to dual boot into XP and Win2000 (yes I know it's getting on a bit, but I've got a lot of stuff installed in win2k that is difficult to get hold of these days).
XP is 100% fine, but with win 2000 if I use my *USB mouse* on the *port replicator* ports and waggle the mouse around - the *CPU* jumps from 0 to *70+%* usage (the system process which I think indicatates as IRQ problem). If I plug the mouse into the laptop ports (when the laptop is docked) - it's fine, at most 5% cpu usage. It's a basic microsoft mouse. I definately think it's a usb problem of some kind, because the cpu even jumps a bit if I type quickly on my usb keyboard (only a couple of %). It happens with all the replicator's usb ports.
Any ideas? I don't really want to plug in my mouse in the morning because it kinda defeats the point of having a docking station in the first place! I've got the mobile extensions installed. All the other aspects of the replicator are fine

Huh it will not be easy to find good explanation for this.
At this time when Tecra M2 was offered on the market as compatible port replicator Toshiba has offered Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III (not +) and at this time both supported operating system was tested with it.
Later Toshiba has designed Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III+ and confirmed compatibility with Tecra M2 but obviously with newer (at this time) WXP.
So now you have follow situation: you use newer port replicator but with much older operating system so I presume there is maybe some compatibility problem with W2K.
I cannot imagine you use it so often with W2K and if yes it cannot be so problematic to connect mouse directly on notebooks USB port.
Sorry but I dont think there is anything you can do about it.

  • Port replicator on T43

    Hello,
I received today the Port replicator but could not get the PC to recognize this and create a "docked" hardware profile.
Going trough diferent searches I could not find if the port replicator should allow "docking" or not
The use of the port replicator is mainly to be able to disconnect the second monitor, external keyboard, mouse and LAN when I have to move into an other room and being able to link up to projectors trough the VGA port

  • Unable to make Port Replicator 43R8770 work with T400

I have a relatively new (four months old) T400 ThinkPad running on Windows XP SP3, and I have been unable to get the Port Replicator to work at all with it.  I am attempting to simply mirror my notebook display on a larger monitor, and have installed the latest driver for the replicator from the Lenovo website.  The system tray icon for the replicator never appears, even after installing and uninstalling the driver, and so I am unable to get the two monitors to mirror each other.
The only indication I have that something is wrong is during the driver install I receive an "Application Error" message for some file labeled ed_16208.exe.  I know that the Port Replicator works fine, as I have been using it for the last four months with an older T42 notebook running on XP SP2.
The Lenovo phone rep was completely unable to help me.  His only suggestion was that it must be that the replicator doesn't work with SP3, since it worked with SP2 on the older model, and that I shouldn't have had Windows automatic updates turned on.  (I'm serious.)  I reminded him that Lenovo shipped the new T400 to me with SP3 installed, and his response was that it was therefore a Microsoft problem and that I should try to roll the notebook back to SP2.  At that point I told him I might as well just use the replicator as a door stop.
    I am completely frustrated.

An update.  I was able to get the Lenovo Display Adapter system tray icon to appear.  However, I can't adjust the settings on it to get it to mirror, and when I attempt to do so there is an error message on the icon for the Lenovo Display Adapter that states "Change Display Settings Failed: Bad mode while setting \\.  \DISPLAYV1 enabled in registry"
    Does anyone have any ideas?
