Is possible search within the disscusions threads ?

Hi.
I need to configurate the Search Iview, in order to search within the discussion forums.  That is to say, to be able to look for within discussion threads, as makes the SDN with the thrid party software that uses, I know, but doing that same one with iview standard of discussion forums?
Actually, with my standard configuration, only look for the title of the discussions.
I have EP 60, SP2.
anybody would help me?
thanks a lot.
Leandro

Hi Leandro,
you can create an index and do some configuration changes as described in SAPNote 564677 in order to can search discussion groups. This should not only search the discussion titles but also the text within discussion threads. Btw: What Patch release do you use?
Just another thing: please get in common with the Contributor Recognition Program. I could see that you have opened more than one thread where you mentioned that your problem was solved but you did not reward any points!
Check this link for more information: https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/index.sdn?page=crp_help.htm

  • Tip of the Day : Search within the log window

    hi
    Recently my JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.0.1) showed me a Tip of the Day about "Search within the log window", as shown in tip-of-the-day-search-log-window.png.
    It read : "You can search within any of the contents of log windows. Click within the text of the window and click Ctrl+F. A search window appears so that you can enter your search criteria."
    The tip also shows an image of a "Messages - Log" panel with a transparent "Search Messages Log" dialog on top.
    If I try this on the "Messages - Log" panel, I get the transparent dialog. But if I try this on the "Running: DefaultServer - Log", I don't get the transparent dialog (although search seams to be possible if I just start typing after pressing Ctrl+F).
    Not very consistent, or what exactly is the intended behaviour here?
    many thanks

    This seems to have improved in JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 (see also log-search2-select.png in the context of forum thread "11.1.1.2.0 : log search : no match found").

    press enter
    you will get list of files(considerably smaller)
    sift through them.
    if you want to search WITHIN a document, then go to EDIT>find..

  • Concurrent ldap search in the same thread

    Hi,
    I try to send in parallel several ldap search request to an iDS5.0 SP1 ldap server. The ldap client is java coded using LDAP SDK.
    To emphasis my problem, I wrote a very simple ldap client:
    A first request is sent to the ldap server. 200 entries matches the search criteria;
    searchListener = _ld.search("ou=city0, ou=region0, ou=LoadTest, o=surpass.com",1,"(cn=*)",attrs,false,null, searchConstraints);
    I read the 5 first messages sent back by the ldap server:
    while (true) {
    ldapMessage=searchListener.getResponse();
    nbEntries++;
    if (nbEntries>5) break;
    Without waiting for the resultCode message, I send a new ldap search:
    ldapSearchResults = _ld.search("ou=city1, ou=region1, ou=LoadTest, o=surpass.com",1,"(cn=*)",attrs,false,searchConstraints);
    This search locks the java process. A timeout message is generated in the ldap server logs:
    [27/Jan/2003:14:13:35 +0100] conn=60660 op=2 fd=48 closed error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) - B4
    Is it a bug? Or is it mandatory, in a single thread process, to wait for the resultCode message before sending any other search request?
    Yannick

    Thank's for answering
    You'r right, there are many ways to overcome the problem in my very simple ldap client:
    - Send an abandon
    - Wait for the resultCode message
    - Use the search constraint BATCHSIZE=0
    But my question is: is it possible to run several concurrent ldap requets in the same thread (like a pool of ldap search) and check their results in a asynchronous way?
    Any idea?

  • Cannot search within the AllItems Library

    I have read many of the related threads and I have crawled the site many times.
    We have a publishing site portal and I have removed the allitems exclude rule from the Intranet scope. The documents in the /Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx library are searchable from the home page. However, when I go to the page and enter in OOB search
    part  I can see documents that start with the word incident, but they don't show up. Instead I get:
    The library is search enabled and the documents are in the Index. What is stopping me from searching while on this particular page?
    Any insight would be appreciated.
    Matthew Barrett Concept Interactive Inc.

    Here are the screen shots. Hope they stick this time.
    I'm using the OOB search while on the /Document/Forms/AllItems.aspx site. I search for a file I can see is there.
    This is my result. As I said if I search from the home page I get listings of documents, as expected.

  • 10.2 software glitch: search within the hub

    I have always hid my filed and sent messages. I receive hundreds of messages a day so it is important to only see what is new.
    I do however search messages from the hub all if the time. In the update to 10.2 (migrated to a z30) when I search emails in the hub, filed messages no longer appear in the search. Sent messages appear and messages in the hub only (and deleted items for some strange reason)
    If I turn off hide of filed messages it shows up fine. This is clearly a glitch but I use it countless times a day and I can't have all of my messages in my hub.
    BlackBerry are you aware of this problem. ???
    Is there a fix coming soon???

    Thank you ideato. The save tabs upon exit works well enough, unfortunately
    I was unable to remove the reference Nemp from the options / applications list.
    I upgraded to Firefox 11.0 in the interim and tried the about:config resets, as well
    as searching for the RDF files. The only RDF file I was able to find is the install.rdf.
    Thank you for your time ideato. I will keep looking and when I fix the issue I will share it.

  • Is possible search all the files in one folder and get list all with the same extension.??

    Hi,
    I would like to get, if it is possible, do searching in one determinate folder and get all the files with the same extension, For example, Give the *.pou and get all the files on one list of the files in this folder and sub-folders...
    If it is possible i would like to see any example.
    Thanks a lot, Fonsi.

    Hi Dennis,
    I got your advise, I download the openG (i had problems, and downloading directly and install one to one).
    Ok, i got but i have one problem, which i can't solve. I entry the promt  to search and put the directory to save, later i push 'Do it' and it search the files, show the paths and number, then save in the folder and finally show the window , all ok!.
    The problem is with the target path, when i want use the browse, it doesnt run properly. I want select one carpet, and it demands one file, i dont understand why??, i changed the options browse but it didnt work. Also i would like when i put one path if folder doesnt exist, directly create it and save the files, if exist copy it.
    Thanks for all!. I attached the file in lv 7.1

  • I get a Runtime error when i try to search within the iTunes store

    Please help! When in the iTunes store, I get a runtime error every time I try to use the search feature. I get a dialog box stating that Windows is searching for a solution, but then iTunes shuts down completely.

    I have the same error, but I think we will get no solution for this problem.
    You've get no answer here and the Apple support also doesn't send an answer how to solve the problem.
    BTW I have also Windows 7 and the newest version of iTunes 64-bit.

  • Calling a delegate on the UI thread from a work thread inside a child class.

    Hi All,
    I've run into a snag developing a WPF multithreaded app where I need to call a method on the UI thread from my work thread, where the work thread is running a different class.
    Currently I am trying to use a delegate and an event in the 2nd class to call a method in the 1st class on the UI thread. This so far is not working as because the 2nd class is running in its own thread, it causes a runtime error when attempting to call
    the event.
    I've seen lots of solutions referring to using the dispatcher to solve this by invoking the code, however my work thread is running a different class than my UI thread, so it seems the dispatcher is not available?
    Below is as simplified an example as I can make of what I am trying to achieve. Currently the below code results in a "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it." exception at runtime.
    The XAML side of this just produces a button connected to startThread2_Click() and a label which is then intended to be updated by the 2nd thread calling the updateLabelThreaded() function in the first thread when the button is clicked.

    private void startThread2_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
    thread2Class _Thread2 = new thread2Class();
    _Thread2.runInParentEvent += new runInParent(updateLabelThreaded);
    Thread thread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(_Thread2.threadedTestFunction));
    thread.Start();
    public void updateLabelThreaded()
    threadUpdateLabel.Content = "Thread 2 called me!";
    public class thread2Class
    public event runInParent runInParentEvent;
    public void threadedTestFunction()
    if (runInParentEvent != null)
    runInParentEvent();
    I'm unfortunately not very experienced with c# so I may well be going the complete wrong way about what I'm trying to do. In the larger application I am writing, fundamentally I just need to be able to call a codeblock in the UI thread when I'm in a different
    class on another thread (I am updating many different items on the UI thread when the work thread has performed certain steps, so ideally I want to keep as much UI code as possible out of the work thread. The work threads logic is also rather complicated as
    I am working with both a webAPI and a MySQL server, so keeping it all in its own class would be ideal)
    If a more thorough explanation of what I am trying to achieve would help please let me know.
    Any help with either solving the above problem, or suggestions for alternative ways I could get the class in the UI thread to do something when prompted by the 2nd class in the 2nd thread would be appreciated.
    Thanks :)

    If I follow the explanation, I think you can use MVVM Light messenger.
    You can install it using NuGet.
    Search on mvvm light libraries only.
    You right click solution in solution explorer and choose manage nugget...
    So long as you're not accessing ui stuff on these other threads.
    using GalaSoft.MvvmLight.Messaging;
    namespace wpf_Tester
    /// <summary>
    /// Interaction logic for MainWindow.xaml
    /// </summary>
    public partial class MainWindow : Window
    public MainWindow()
    InitializeComponent();
    Messenger.Default.Register<String>(this, (action) => ReceiveString(action));
    private void ReceiveString(string msg)
    MessageBox.Show(msg);
    Dispatcher.BeginInvoke((Action)delegate()
    tb.Text = msg;
    private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
    Task.Factory.StartNew(() => {
    Messenger.Default.Send<String>("Hello World");
    What the above does is start up a new thread - that startnew does that.
    It sends of message of type string which the main window has subscribed to....it gets that and puts up a message box.
    The message is sent from the window to the window in that but this will work across any classes in a solution.
    Note that the receive acts on whichever thread the message is sent from.
    I would usually be altering properties of a viewmodel with such code which have no thread affinity.
    If you're then going to directly access properties of ui elements then you need to use Dispatcher.BeginInvoke to get back to the UI thread.
    I do that with an anonymous action in that bit of code but you can call a method or whatever instead if your logic is more complicated or you need it to be re-usable.

  • Parameter to search within a field

    Post Author: hd1
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hello,
    I have a report that is connected to SQL database.  I was wondering if there was a way to create a parameter to search within a specific field in my database table.  The scenario is we have Paralegals and Attorneys who have created a huge Word document that has a table in it.  They have 8 fields in this table and one field in particular is their summary field.  This field can go up to over 1000 characters.  So, we decided to create a SQL database and have them import their data from a Data Access Page using Microsoft Access, then we run a Crystal Report for them. So far it looks good and it's working great.  We can import there current data without any problems.  The problem that I have run into is the way they search for specific entries.  I was wondering if I could create a parameter in the report to search within the summary field.  Again these summary fields can be from one sentance to multiple paragraphs.  I would like to be able to get this going for them, it will make things a lot easier on them. An example would be.  We have multiple entries in this field.
    This is a test entry done 11/27/07
    This is a test entry done 12/3/07
    This is a test import using DTS done 12/3/07.
    Now it would be nice if the users could put in the word 'DTS' in the parameter and it would only show entries containing DTS.  Do you think this is possible.
    I ran accross a posting by Skodidine and his was something like this.
    {table.field} LIKE & "*"
    But that was relating to a wild card search.  I tried just using {table.field} LIKE but I didn't get any results.  This does sound possible though.

    Post Author: hd1
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    So far this seems to give me some results.
    IF {?Summary} = "<none>" THEN TRUE ELSE ({?Summary}) IN LowerCase ({LOEB_Docs.Summary})
    I don't know though, If someone has a more reliable and better one could you let me know?   I did have to add some words in my parameter, by the looks of it, I will have to do that from now on.  So if someone has something better to where I do not have to enter keywords for them, I would appreciate it.  This database is going to continue to grow, it's a reference for them so the keywords could be endless.

  • Does a reentrant dll call monopolize the calling thread?

    If I understand thing correctly, threading for a dll call is the same as threading for a vi whose execution priority is set to subroutine.
    To review threading in subvis:
    (1) the thread in which a subroutine-execution-priorty-vi call is made is monopolized by the subroutine-execution-priorty-vi since labview cannot time slice the thread.
    (2) if the subroutine-execution-priority-vi is not reentrant, then other threads that call the vi may be suspended because they are competing for the same code resource.
    (3) if the subroutine-execution-priority-vi is reentrant, then other threads may call the vi simultaneously. However, within any particular thread the vi must complete because of point (1).
    In
    sum, the OS timeslices between the threads, and labVIEW timeslices within the threads. If a vi's execution priority is set to subroutine, then the thread under which it is running is monopolized by the vi. Yes?
    A reentrant dll call would be equivalent to a reentrant subvi call in which the subvi's execution priority is set to subroutine. Yes?
    If the above is correct then this should also be correct:
    Using an API call to return the thread ID, you could use the the thread ID at the front and back side of a dll call, as well as in a message library function callable from a dll, to theoretically message labVIEW upon the dll return. The message would be uniquely identifiable because a dll call cannot be superceded by another dll call from within the same thread. Yes?
    I'm not saying that it would be particularly efficient to do so, only that it could be done. And depending on the messaging, it could be a useful option in the dll call configuration dialog box.
    In consider
    ation of "magic",
    Kind Regards,
    Eric

    Eric,
    I'm not sure I understand exactlly what you are trying to do here.
    If you want LV to react to a dll error, why don't you just pass a return
    code that's not zero? Then, back in LV, read the return code. If it's not
    zero, create an error, and pass this to the rest of the code. The rest of
    the code is (or should, following good programming practise) has an error
    in, and the code will not execute if the input error is TRUE. It does not
    even have to be the return code, it could be any input value. The input
    values can be changed in the code, and the modified value is returnd to
    LabVIEW.
    If you want to generate an error, and put it into a buffer to be read later
    on in LV, you'll have to synchronise the code. This is the consequence for a
    construction like this, and is the same for several windows API's
    (GetLastError, etc.). the buffer will stay in memory, untill all instances
    of the dll are released from LV memory.
    BTW: A dll could create another thread. This thread can run on the
    background, like the good old TRS's in dos. (A thread like this could even
    call a LabVIEW VI that is build in a dll, just like any other api.)
    BTW: A thread created by a dll can be made to be automatically released when
    the thread is detatched, or when the process is detached. This is important,
    because LV will crash if the dll is removed from memory, but the thread is
    not stopped properly.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • IOS 8 - contact's responses to a group message where I am included being placed in individual thread as opposed to the group thread?

    Has anyone experienced this issue?  Here's an example of what is happening:
    A group message is initiated by my friend that includes myself and 2 Android users.  All of us have group messaging turned on.
    Replies from one of the Android users do not get included in the group thread, but in that person's individual thread within Messages.  The other user's replies are included in the group thread.  My replies are also included in the group thread.
    If I turn off iMessages within the settings menu, the replies from the Android user that were previously going into the individual thread now are included within the group thread.  If I turn back on iMessages, the replies are separated again whenever they are sent, but only from the one Android user.
    Is this a problem with the way the iPhone handles group SMS/MMS messages, or is it an issue with my friend's Android device settings?  What makes me think it's an issue on my end is that things work as intended if I turn iMessages off.
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
    In Group chats in iMessages it seems the iMessages server will not allow you to switch the ID being used for one of the contacts (there is no way to tell if the other people in the group chat know this info and whether the Contacts wants it to be known - at least that is the presumption).
    If you want to use his iPhone number then you will have to start a new Chat.
    If his Apple ID is on  his iPhone and of course on his Mac then it can be the case that iMessages will "offer" the pop ups to enable the ID again.
    I find they arrive when I want to do something else and I have to almost dismiss them  to proceed.
    I find that this will activate a Second Apple ID on a second iPhone or the second iPhone number will suddenly appear Active on the Mac's settings for the iMessages account.

  • Replacement for PhaseListener in RAP 3.0 - execute code on the UI thread

    Hello,
    we've used a PhaseListener to open/close a database connection for each request.
    The database connection is tied to the current UI thread.
    Do you have any suggestion how to realize this without using a phase listener in RAP 3.0?
    I've tried to use a MessageFilter but the handleMessage method is not executed on the UI thread.
    Thank you,
    Ken

    Hi Ralf,
    thank you for the explanation.
    We actually do not open a connection for each request. We just start a "unit of work" for the current thread that is able to track the database connections that are created on demand. This unit of work (and hence the underlying connections) is closed after a request.
    Now the problem is that we need to execute the code that starts and stops the unit of work within the UI thread. This is due to the fact that our model objects (that are displayed by JFace viewers for example) are bound to an entity manager that requires an active unit of work for the current thread to open an underlying database connection.
    I don't see any other solutions as using a phase listener for the start and stop events of the UI thread or starting/stopping the unit of work for any individual interaction with the model objects. It is practically impossible to implement the latter in a clean way.
    Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
    Best regards,
    Ken

  • How to Search within document items

    How are you all??!!
    I was wondering if there is anyway at all to customize the Portal search so that it searches within the document (ie a MSWord doco) for the keywords, not just the Item title.

    Hi Liz
    I'm good thanks.
    Document content searching is available by enabling the Oracle Text searching features in Portal. Please refer to the Portal Configuration Guide for your version of the product.

    Hi Jamal Najmi,
    If you have KD hierarchy based on community, then you develop a small search portlet using adaptive tags that will search only those folders in the KD.
    Hope this helps.
