Is possible to migrate licenses from 5508 to 5760

We have two 5508 that have been removed because we have deployed two new 5760.
Is it possible to migrate licenses from 5508 to 5760? I understand that the base licenses should not be migrated but the adder ones should
Just, not to loose all of the licenses, we want to migrate two L-LIC-CT5508-25A to obtain 50 L-LIC-CTIOS-1A

I think you are correct.  I recommend that you open a TAC case with the Cisco Licensing group.

  • Is it possible to migrate data from a 4.6C system to an ECC 6.0 system?

    Hello all,
We have an ECC6.0/Oracle 11g system which runs Finance, Purchasing and Payroll/HR for our own organisation.
We also have another 4.6C/Oracle9 system where we run only Payroll for another organisation.
This is a separate landscape (Dev / Test / Prod / DR) which runs on its own hardware.
Clearly, this 4.6C system has to be upgraded in the next 12 months or so before it is out of maintenance.
However, we are exploring whether it would be possible to migrate the data from the 4.6C system to our existing ECC6.0 system instead of upgrading the 4.6C system.
In this way, we can decommission the 4.6C hardware and simplify our landscape.
Has anyone undertaken a similar exercise who would be willing to share their experiences?
Or does anyone have any opinions as to whether this would even be possible?
Our initial thinking is that we would probably have to write our own conversion programs and/or possibly use LSMW but it's early days so any feedback is welcome.
    Regards...John

    Hi,

You can make of ALE/IDOCs technology to transfer the required data from 4.6C system to ECC 6.0 system. Here you will need to perform necessary mapping of the fields and perform required technical configuration. Later write ABAP codes to fetch and transfer data .
    Hope this answers your query.

  • User Migration Licenses from BE5000/CME to 9.X ?

    Hello All,
I would really appreciate if someone can help me understand how does Cisco send the migration user licenses after purchase?
here is a brief summary of what my customer is trying to migrate from :
    - Customer has a BE5000 site with some 7962 phones and another CME site with some 7962/7937 phones
    - from reading the ordering guide I see I can use the following part numbers to migrate from those sites to 9.X
    L-MIGB-UCM-UWL-PRO & L-MIGE-UCM-UWL-PRO
    - Both sites have had their equipment shut down more than 3 months ago so we have no access to those servers incase the process involves logging on those systems to migrate the user licenses.
The question I have is if I order migration licenses via those part numbers, do cisco send a PAK key or will I need to run something on the old BE5000 or CME to be able to retrieve those upgrade licenses?
    Thank you

    Hi,
what I understand that u are using BE5K with version 8.x on MCS 7828 or below and are upgrading to Call Manager version 9 on different platform[Virtualised] ?
the Part codes mentioned say that u are migrating Basic & Enhanced Users to Professional Users and placing the order since u do not have UCSS contract.
You will get the single PAK code for total number of users to be migrated and the same needs to be entered on www.cisco.com/go/license along with ELM file .This file u would get once u migrate successfully to version 9 [license MAnagement---Licenses --other fulfiment options--generate ,now copy from ELM and paste on license page]
other way is write mail to [email protected] along with Sales Order Number  and License Count Utility [LCU report] taken from existing call manager version .LCU is downloadable from Cisco.

  • Migrating license from old machine to new machine.

I have an old pc with an upgraded version of Lightroom, meaning I started with version 4 and upgraded to version 5. In the process my serial numbers were changed.
Recently, I purchased a new mac and I would like to move my license over. I've installed a fresh copy of v5 but  neither serial number will work. Do I need to unregister my old computer? Do i need to install version 4 and upgrade again?

You need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.

  • Possible to transfer license from one computer to another?

I know that LR is licensed so you can have it on two computers. I'm currently using an older powerbook. I'd like to buy LR now to take advantage of the discount, but I know I'll get a new computer soon -- is there a mechanism in place to deactivate the installation of LR on the older computer when the new one comes around?

I would just uninstall on the old computer and install on the new one, using your serial number. I don't think there is any other sort of validation. I hope not - I'm moving my Lr to a new hard drive on Thursday.

  • Migrate TCS licensing from appliance to VM?

Does anyone know if it's possible and if there's any documentation on migrating licensing from a hardware appliacne TCS to a VM?  I've got pretty much everything in my environment (other than TP Server 8710s) migrated over to VM, but I've neglected TCS as it's not widely used in our environment.  Any help moving this last thing to VMWare would be much appreciated :)

    Hi Nick,
Yes, its certainly possible - we've just done it here.
You need to use the TCS Migration Assistant Tool which you get access to (as well as the OVA file to build the VM) when you order the R-VMTCS-MIG-K9= part number.
Note: the most recent available verison (S6.1) is only officially supported on UCS Hardware - you may be better off waiting for version S6.2 which is due to be released and reportedly officially supports running on your own non-Cisco Specs based hardware.

There's also some more brief discussion on this in another thread: tcs-gen-2-and-windows-server-2003-support about Win 2003 which runs on the content servers becoming end of support.
If you have any specific questions, both Patrick and I have done this migration before, so should be able to answer most questions.

  • Migrate mailboxes from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010

    Hello,
We have a merger and would like to know if it is possible to migrate mailboxes from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010 in a cross-forest scenario.
Or should we first upgrade destination Exchange 2010 to 2013?
    Peteris

    Hi Peteris,
Based on my tests, we can move mailboxes from Exchange Server 2013 to Exchange server 2010. You can use the Prepare-MoveRequest.ps1 script in the EMS to prepare mailboxes for cross forest moves.
For more information about it, here is a helpful article for your reference.

  • Migrating Jobs from 4.0 to 4.2 using .atl?

    Hi Experts
We recently migrated most  of our  BODS application from v4.0 to v4.2.
We used Repository manager to upgrade our repositories.
We still have one machine which is running BODS 4.0.
My question is that is it possible to migrate jobs from v4.0 to v4.2 without using repository manager i.e exporting these jobs as .atl or xml file and then importing them into BODS 4.2 enviornment.
Please  let me know your views.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ankit,
      Possible? yes.
      Suggested? No.
Try to follow the best practice in order to avoid issues, because if you have a problem during the migration and you call SAP support, they will tell you to follow the standar steps, not the short cut ways.

  • I am looking to transfer Production Premium CS5.5 from Windows to OS X. However, my license code was only stored on a now deactivated email address, is there any way I can possibly retrieve the license code?

Hi, I have recently migrated over from Windows to OS X and was hoping to transfer my Creative Suite over.
I purchased it whilst at college and obtained the student & teacher edition using my college email address which they unfortunately deactivated without warning. I am still a student, now studying at University. I still have the box which contains the product code and I can provide evidence that I am the same person who purchased the product initially if required and additionally still have the initial evidence i sent off saved to my computer. Would it be possible to retrieve the license key?

Platform swaps only apply to the latest version, meaning CS6. You are wasting your time looking for something that doesn't exist to begin with. Simply buy a fresh CS6 license at student discount.

  • Is it possible to migrate the app from latest version to older version

    Hi all,
I have a adf application in jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0.Due to some issues i have to do it in jdeveloper 11g release 2 (11.1.1.2.0).Is it possible to migrate the application from latest version to older version of jdev.
    Thanks.

It's not officially supported, but you can try a couple of things - first open the application in the old version and see if it works.
If it doesn't you can try creating a new application in the old version and then use the create project from existing source option to map to your existing code.
This all of course assumes that you didn't use features in the new version that are not available in the old version.

  • 5508 to 5760 w/3850. Migrating from CUWN to Converged access.

    Hi!
I have a 5508 WLC managing APs in local and flexconnect mode in the current environment.
There's a plan to migrate to converged access using 5760 WLC w/HA as MC, 3850 as MA and keep the 5508 as N+1 controller enabling new mobility.
    It will look like this:
    1 MC 5760 w/HA
    10 3850 as MA
1 5508 as N+1 (managing flexconnect APs and backup if the 5760 pair fails)
    The questions I have:
    1. After enabling new mobility in the 5508.
Will I still be able to use flexconnect mode for the remote locations? I know the 5760 doesn't support flexconnect mode, but I'm not sure if the flexconnect feature is not supported in a converged access deployment.
    2. Will I be able to manage and configure everything in the 5760 (MC) and the WLC will push the configurations, WLANS, settings, etc to the 3850s (MA)? Or do I also need to configure WLANS, etc on each individual 3850?
    3. Current license count in the 5508 is at 350 APs.
The new deployment will have 10 3850s with 5 AP licenses per switch and the 5760 will come with 25 AP licenses. That's a total 75 AP licenses.
I would need to purchase 225 additional licenses on the 5760 to make a total of 350 AP licenses.
Will I be able to move the switches' AP licenses to the 5760 to make 350 AP licenses?
The plan is to keep the 5508 as a staging controller to move the APs in the event of a FW upgrade in the 5760.

First of all 5760 & 5508 AP firmware are not same. So failing over between these two WLC will be same as doing AP fail over between two 5508 having different software version. (ie AP has to download the image & reboot every time). Also I would suggest you to start this migration step by step as you need to be familiar with this converged access setup (how it works & troubleshoot issues). I would setup 5760 & move one building AP to this CA & monitor it for 2-3 months & them move on.
Here are the answer to other queries you have.
    1. After enabling new mobility in the 5508.
Will I still be able to use flexconnect mode for the remote locations? I know the 5760 doesn't support flexconnect mode, but I'm not sure if the flexconnect feature is not supported in a converged access deployment.
Yes, 5508 support FlexConnect irrespective of "new mobility" feature enable or not. Here is how you configure new mobility & peer a 5760 to a 5508. You need to have 7.6.x or 8.x code on your 5508 to do this.
    http://mrncciew.com/2014/05/06/configuring-new-mobility/
    2. Will I be able to manage and configure everything in the 5760 (MC) and the WLC will push the configurations, WLANS, settings, etc to the 3850s (MA)? Or do I also need to configure WLANS, etc on each individual 3850?
I do not think you can do this yet, Cisco will make this happen in future. So you have to configure each & every MA identically. If you have prime, then IOS-XE 3.7.x onward it support template configuration. But IOS-XE 3.7 is recently released,so cannot guaranteed the stability. (I am using 3.6.1E in my production). Below post will give you some starting point on this configuration
    http://mrncciew.com/2013/12/14/3850ma-with-5760mc/
In the CA setup, licence only required at MC, not in MAs.It is right to use license model & Cisco trust what you configure is what you purchase (no license key/serial number like in 5508/2504/etc). Refer this for some detail
    http://mrncciew.com/2013/12/12/getting-started-with-5760/
Like said earlier, start in small scale & get familiar with new setup, my blog may give some other useful posts on this converged access.
Let us know if you have further queries on this & happy to help

  • Is it possible to Migrate Live VMs from a Windows 2012 Hyper-V Cluster to a different 2012 R2 Cluster?

At the moment I'm in a bit of dilemma because I know that Windows 2012 supports "Shared Nothing Live Migration" but recently I got to know that this feature is available for stand alone Hyper-V Servers. My Setup is that I have
3 Servers running Windows Server 2012 Hyper-v Failover Cluster and I need to migrate everything to a new cluster running on Windows Server 2012 R2 and offcourse some VMs can't be turned off during migration so I need to do this live during production hours.
Another note is that both clusters will be running on the different LUNs since each cluster has its own CSVs. I need to know if it is possible to migrate such VMs/Roles Live without have any downtime of the VMs/Roles?

Yes, but one exception - live migration works only on "compatible cpu's". There actually is a setting in CPU for forcing compatibility
mode. If that is not set, and you mvoe for example from AMD to Intel, then - this is not possible in live migration, cluster or not.

  • Is it possible to migrate from Hyperion essbase ver 6 to Hyperion Ver 11?

    Hi Hyperion geeks,
is it possible that Migrate from Hyperion essbase ver 6 to Hyperion Ver 11. if yes then pls let me know how we can do it????
    reg,
    abhishek

    Hi,
We're finishing our migration from 6.2 to 11.1.1.3.
Of course won't recommend to migrate directly... they will recommend going through different steps (v7, V9...) => useless I think.
    Here what we did :
    - Installed v11 (new server)
    - copied objects from v6 to v11, tested and validated objects under v11
    - for .sec, recreated the app/databases first then copied the v6 .sec on v11 server. Of course your server have to be installed with native securities then you may push to shared services.
    - if you don't care about changing password you could handle it with maxl extracts or secman (but I had issues with secman).
Finally it's just like any migration

  • HT4889 Is it possible to migrate from Tiger to Mountain Lion????

It seems that the Mountain Lion migration assistant on a MacBook Air does not see an attached iBook G4 via thunderbolt/firewire as valid volume. For Lion there is an explanation, that it only works via Firewire. What about Mountain Lion? I think the migration assistant should be able to migrate from any ancient OS X version...

No, you cannot migrate directly from Tiger to Mountain Lion as described in HT4889 - Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant are both broken in 10.8.2 and the procedure in HT4889 does not work.
What you can do is either upgrade your iBook G4 to Leopard and then migrate from Leopard to Mountain Lion, or migrate from Tiger to another machine running Leopard/Snow Leopard/Lion and then to your new machine running Mountain Lion.
In theory it is still possible to purchase OS X Leopard directly from Apple as a special order if you call them or something like that. Don't pay $200 to scammers on eBay, please!!
The nice thing about using Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant is that it really seems to do a good job of migrating contacts/calendar/email and everything else, although obviously you will need to replace all of your old PowerPC apps.

  • Is it possible to migrate from snow leopard to lion?

My son just received his new Macbook Pro (15 "); he is running Snow Leopard on his 2008 model Macbook Pro.  Is it possible to migrate from Snow Leopard to Lion using the setup assistant or does he have to upgrade to Lion first?

True. 10.7 is a different animal and most all software has to be installed from fresh sources preferred. (cleans things up too)
There is CS6 now for 10.7, just released.
Check for comptability here, then make the decision if it's worth migrating the programs or not.

Will the setup assistant "automatically" try to transfer everything?
    I don't know, I never used it.
Too hard core old school to use Apple's gimmicky and problematic software.
I rather clean install a new machine, only manually transfering files from the old one, cleaner setup that way and no hidden surprises or performance issues.
