Is possible to run a windows (windows XP) in  a MAC OS ?

My computer have two partitions (mac os Leopard, Windows XP)
My computer boots on Mac OS.
How to run a windows (Windows XP) in Mac OS.
I need to have Mac OS and a windows with Windows XP.
Best regards
RV

I believe there's a third-party application called VMWare Fusion that will do exactly what you're looking for. I've heard loads of good things about it, and understand that it works with either XP or Vista.
Good luck!

  • Is it possible to run a Windows domain with a Mac Server?

Looking for some advice on getting rid of our Windows domain controller (DHCP server, AD, etc.) in favour of a Mac Server (which we own).  Is it possible to run a Windows domain with a Mac Server?

Snow Leopard Server (10.6) and earlier included Samba which supported acting as an NT Domain Controller (this pre-dates Active Directory). Lion (10.7) and later as standard can no longer act as an NT Domain Controller nor can they act as an Active Directory server.
So the short answer is no.
Theoretically you could port Samba4 to a Mac and Samba4 can act as an Active Directory server. In reality this is not going to be easy but is theoretically possible.
An easier option might be to run a copy of Linux (e.g. Ubuntu) in a virtual machine e.g. using VirtualBox and then run Samba4 in that and configure it to act as and Active Directory server. Then you could connect the Mac side to the Samba4 Active Directory server. This approach would use all Mac hardware, and not have any extra costs of licenses to buy and as far as all the rest of the network is concerned would be a standard Active Directory server environment.

  • How can i run a windows based program on mac book pro

Can I run a windows based program on mac book pro mountain lion 10.8.4

You can use bootcamp to install windows natively on the hard drive.  You then choose which OS you wish to use at startup - OS X or Windows.
You can also install Windows in a virtual machine - Parallels or VMWare Fusion - and run it simultaneously with OS X (a virtual machine is just a PC emulated in software, and you install and run windows in the emulated machine hardware).

  • Is it possible to run the Windows XP environment from an external HD?

I just purchased a MacBook Pro and need to run navigation/mapping applications written for windows only. I would rather not fill up the internal HD with XP and associated Apps.
Is it possible to install bootcamp or VM Fusion etc, Win XP and associated apps and run them on an external usb drive connected to my MacBook Pro?
    TIA

    BootCamp Discussion:
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=237
This is the workstation Mac Pro, not MacBook series.
If you want Windows installed natively on its own partition, you can't use external USB or FW or eSATA, must be internal.
A virtual machine and its associated disk file image that is used in OS X can be anywhere you want.
Fusion supports BootCamp partitions, but isn't req'd.

  • ** Is it possible to run a windows .bat script job from ODI between server?

    Hello Friends,
We have ODI 10.1.3.5 on a Win2003 Server.
Have a windows Batch script job .bat(this is a related to a different program - DRM) on a different Windows 2003 server...is it possible to execute .bat job thru ODI between servers?
    Appreciate your suggestions...
    Thanks.

    Hi AJ,
    Here are more details:
    Server-A: ODI Server (Win2003)
    Server-B: Oracle DRM Server (Win2003)
Server-C: ODI scheduler agent is installed (Linux)
We have a .bat batch script job on Server-B which we are planning to run from Server-A (as part of the ODI package execution flow)
This .bat job exports the DRM hierarchy data to a table that ODI uses to process next steps.
So, you are suggesting to install ODI agent on Server-B? If we do that...not sure if there be issues if we have to run the package with other scenario's (interfaces/Procedures) that refer agent isntalled in Server-C??
    Any feedbacks are appreciated!!
    Thanks

  • Debugging iOS AIR app from FlashBuilder running under Windows/Paralells on a Mac

On my Windows 7 workstation at work, I use FlashBuilder 4.6 to debug iPad apps all the time. The process is simple and reliable -- start the debugger which begins waiting for the app to notify it, move the app into iTunes, move it onto the iPad, launch the app, the app notifies the debugger that it is running, debugging works!
At home I am running Windows 7 under the latest version of Parallels on my iMac running the latest version of Lion. I go through the same process: I connect my iPad (the same one from work) to the Windows VM, and Windows iTunes recognizes it and syncs files just fine. I can move a non-debugger version of the app onto the iPad and it runs just fine. However, when I start the debugger in FlashBuilder and then move the app onto the iPad and launch it, the app is not able to find the Flash Debugger. When it launches I just get a black screen for about 2 minutes, then I get a message asking me to enter the IP address of the Flash Debugger.
There is an old help document indicating that this is due to the iPad and then debugger host computer not running on the same wifi, but I don't think it's relevant. My workstation at work isn't even connected to wifi.
I will consider any advice. It's pretty important for me to get this up and running at home. I tried running directly under bootcamp, but both Microsoft and Adobe consider the bootcamp install to be a unique install of their products.
    Thanks!

It turns out that the "help document indicating that this is due to the iPad and the debugger host computer not running on the same wifi" was spot on.  At my work environment, the wifi and the ethernet lan are on the same network.  I was mistakenly assuming that the iPad and the debugger were communicating via the USB cable, but this is not the case.  I think what happens is that FB embeds the ip address of its computer in the debuggable app.  The app then connects to FB at that IP address.
My problem was that I had the Network Settings of my VM set to "Shared" under the Parallels hardware config set up.  My VM then had a 10.211.55.x ip address instead of a 196.196.0.x ip address, which is the range of addresses on my LAN.  Changing the setting to "Shared" fixed the problem.

  • Is it possible to convert CS4 Windows license to CS4 Mac?

I purchased CS4 for Windows in 2008 and my pc died. I replaced it with a Mac. Is there any means to get a replacement for the new OS? Kim

    Hi Marie,
Regarding your first question, CS 5 is not available for sale.
From CS 4 we can't upgrade to CS 6 as standalone.CS 6 upgrade is only possible if you had CS 5 or CS 5.5
We are launching CC versions of apps this June, you can get CC subscription and that you can use either on Win or MAC as per your choice.

  • Is it possible to run apps concurrently in different "Users" on Mac Pro in latest OSX?

I wish to continuously monitor different folders in Dropbox for "input transactions" destined for my
applications on my Mac Pro, where each Dropbox folder represents different input types from different
sources. It would speed up the process significantly if my monitor program could run concurrently from
each of several defined "Users" on my Mac Pro with OSX.

Thank you for your response. Let me give you some more facts on my situation.
My monitor, running on a Mac Pro, reads folders owned by my clients, where the folders are shared
thru Dropbox with my service. So, yes, my monitor is "reading" different Dropbox member's folders looking for
"input" files to my service. My monitor is programmed (with a list) of the various clients' folders
names in which to search. Obviously, there is some number of clients (and folders) where the monitor
begins to take several seconds (too long) to scan and service, merely due to the sheer number of folders being
scanned. So, if I could create a second User on the Mac Pro, and run another (copy) of the monitor
programmed with another unique list of folders NOT being serviced by the monitor in the first
User, and (here's the problem) both monitors were running CONCURRENTLY, then the total number of
folders (and clients) being serviced could possibly almost double. Then, I could add a third User, then
a fourth, etc. to handle even more clients and folders.
The giant problem here is, each separate User does NOT run concurrently with the others, certainly where
all are logged in and "running". Actually, it appears OSX only executes programs within ONE user at a
time: the one in focus at the time. It so happens that OSX multitasks within that one User the differently-named
programs quite well; but OSX does not (continue to) execute anything in other Users, until another
User is manually switched to. Therefore, in my case, I can only run one monitor in one User at a time, thus ruining any benefit I might otherwise achieve IF OSX ran programs concurrently in multiple Users, another form of multitasking that apparently OSX is not designed to do. My monitors run with Excel VBA, which becomes the name of that program within
one User, so I am limited to running only 1 monitor per User. (Groups don't help.). On the other hand, It might help a little if
my monitor somehow could switch between OSX Users programmatically, rather than manually...I do not want
to sit at my Mac Pro constantly and manually fast-switching between Users to even attempt to solve my problem. Rather, I want
the software to run concurrently 24/7 unattended to successfully provide the service promised to all.
So, because there are lots of brilliant folks that know a lot about MACs and OSX, certainly more than me, I
am wondering IF someone knows how to get OSX to multitask across more than one User at a time, which
would solve my dilemma?? Maybe it's just not possible, I don't know...
Also, would OSX Server edition maybe be better suited to solve my problem? I know nothing about the Server's capability.
I would also hate to have to run Windows on my Mac Pro to solve this. Would VMware/Fusion work here?
Thank you again for taking the time to help...

  • How to run a Windows app from a PowerBook G4 using Tiger OS 10.4.11

HELP !!!! i have a training session tomorrow, and I need to run a Windows Application from my mac.
    is it possible?
I need to do it only once (initially, then I can purchase something).
    I use a PowerBook G4
I'm running Tiger OS 10.4.11 (not Leopard)
I don't need to run OS and Windows at the same time, just the Windows application
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I signed up for and downloaded Parallels for Mac and got the message "this app can't be installed on your machine, please check the requirements for your machine." But I couldn't find requirements anwhere.
ANY IDEAS ???" I really appreciate it!

If you have an Intel Mac and Leopard you can use various programs (like Parallels) that will let you do what you want.
With Tiger and a G4 PPC I think the only option is to get hold of a copy of Virtual PC and a copy of Windows that will work with it. Virtual PC is no longer produced so you'll have to look on the used stuff websites. I have never used VPC myself but I hear it is really slow, and of course since it is out of production it will probably only run some older version of Windows (not sure, maybe 98 or before?)

  • Running a windows program.

Hello, I have a very expensive windows program that I really need to use. They don't make it for macs. What is the cheapest way I can run a windows program on my mac?
    Thanks.

    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak 2 or Vista. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not yet fully developed for the Mac - some features are not yet implemented - but it does work otherwise.
    6. Last is Q. Q is a freeware emulator that is compatible with Intel Macs. It is much slower than the virtualization software, Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system.
See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion.
Boot Camp is only available with Leopard. The Boot Camp Beta that was used with Tiger has expired and is no longer available for use. So contrary to the other poster's comment, Boot Camp isn't truly "free." You must purchase Leopard to get it.

I am a CC member on a Mac Just read about latest update decided to check verion running found out I am runnin 13.1.2Windows vers  not 13.05 Mac version
Can I switch?  is this why a suffer from freezing an quiting problems?

Photoshop 13.0.5 is for the perpetual-license of CS6, not for cloud subscribers.
However, I'm puzzled by your post in which you indicate you are "runnin 13.1.2Windows vers" on your Mac.   Do you mean you install it in Parallels or some such Windows environment on your Mac?
In any event, your subscription license allows you to install both the Mac version and a Windows copy.
Personally I don't see any valid reason to want to run a Windows version on a Mac.  It boggles the mind.
