Is possible to transfer photos from a macbook pro to an iphone without itunes or an internet connection?

Is possible to transfer photos from a macbook pro to an iphone 5 without itunes or an internet connection? I'm a pro photographer and I need to transfer photos from my camera, edit them, copy photos to my iphone and send via 4G network to an editor. I will be in a location without internet access and my old computer itunes wont sync with my new iphone 5. I can't upgrade the computer right now because I need some of the old software.  Thanks.

Some decent suggestions for apps to do this in this thread:

  • HT201302 How do I transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone WITHOUT deleting them from my computer?

I have ~5000 photos on my MacBook Pro, only a few if which were taken with my iPhone. If I use Sync in iTunes any photos on my computer that were not taken with my iPhone are deleted from my computer. There is no obvious way to prevent this happening. Could I create a duplicate iPhoto library and "sacrifice" it while syncing my iPhone without losing other libraries? Any other ideas?

No, that doesn't work that way.
Photos on your computer ae not deleted by iTunes.  When you sync photos to an iPhone using iTunes, photos on the iPhone that are not in the folders or albums being synced by itunes will be deleted from the iPhone. Photos on your computer should not be touched at all.
Also transferring pictures from the iPhone to a computer has nothing to do with iTunes.
It is done through Photos, iPhoto, Aperture, or even Image Capture.

  • What is the direct connect method for transfering photos from my macbook pro to my iphone without using iTunes syncronization? (iow: a simple photo copy from mac to iphone?)

I feel like I should know the answer to this. I can't believe it is a hard question.

    Easy? Right?
Just plug my iphone in to a mac and copy a photo from the mac to my iphone.
I don't have internet access - I can't email it, or mobileme it, or dropbox it.

iTunes. Other than that there is no direct method. However, do try the iPhone forums.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone.  The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

  • How do I transfer a .pdf from my MacBook Pro to my Iphone WITHOUT Itunes

I am 100% Mac in my home. However I have been running into this, and similar issues, when I want to transfer video, music, pictures, and documents from my MBP to my 5S - I HATE itunes. Every forum says "just use Itunes"; however, I have never figured out why Itunes has to be so complicated. As such I do not have Itunes, nor do I wish to use Itunes. There has to be another way. I am looking for suggestions that will let me transfer digital data of many formats to my other Apple devices such as my Ipad2 and my Ipod touch - but for now, I just need the ability to transfer files of varying format to my 5S from my MBP. Please help if you know how to do this.
Please do not suggest that I just use Itunes - have been a Mac guy for about 4 years now and have never figured out how to use it.
I have signed up (turned on) Icloud, but have never used any cloud based system so I have no clue how to use it. Furthermore, every forum I have visited says that Icloud does not even work that way - I just do not understand the cloud. Everything I have ever done involves drag and drop from a PC to a USB or other storage device (I used to be a PC guy until I started realizing that I had to buy a new PC every year due to massive component failure). I have never been successful transferring anything from one Apple product to another so I have many redundant copies of everything I have that is digital - one for each and every device I own.
I might sound like an idiot, but I really am tech savvy, which is why this issue is irritating.

Thank you Carolyn and Terence for your very timely response!! I downloaded "dropbox" on my 5S using the app store; however, there is no such app for my MBP according to the results in the search box when I type it into my MBP App Store app. How do I get "dropbox" for my MBP (OSX 10.9.4)?

  • How to transfer photos from my macbook pro to my iPhone 4s?

Can any one give me some step by step help?

    You have 2 options:
    1. Open iPhoto and connect the iPhone and you'll be prompted to import
    2. Open Image Capture and connect the iPhone and you'll be prompted to import
You might not have iPhoto, but you definitly have Image Capture. But iphoto is the better programm also to store and organize photos.

How do I transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iMac?

You can go into your pictures folder in your user folder on your old computer and copy the iPhoto Library file (should be fairly large) either directly to the new computer or to an external drive.  Copy the old iPhoto Library over to the new pictures folder on your new computer.  The old iPhoto Library should overwrite the iPhoto Library on your new machine.  When you fire up iPhoto on your new machine, everything should be there in the same form as it was on your old machine.

  • How do I get photos from my MacBook Pro onto my iPhone?

I have a Macbook Pro and I am wondering how I can easily transfer photos from my MacBook Pro on to my iPhone 3GS?

Because I didn't want, or need, ALL my Photos on my iPhone...
I Created an Album in iPhoto and called it " My iPhone Photos "...
And put just the Photos I wanted into it...
Now when I Sync my iPhone... I just Check / Tick that Album...

  • Why can't i transfer music from my Macbook Pro to my iPhone 5.

    Hey guys.
I was wondering how i'm able to put music from the itunes on my Macbook Pro to my iPhone 5.
when i connect the usb it says
The iphone " insert name " cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.
i downloaded the latest itunes to no effect.
any advice would be so appreciated, i just got my iphone today. music is the only thing i really want on it.
    thank you in advance.

    Hello Likolette,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I see that you're unable to move files to your external hard drive ever since it was unplugged before being ejected.  To start troubleshooting this issue, I'd like you to please repair the disk using Disk Utility.

  • How can i transfer photos from my macbook to my imac without altering their quality

I am trying to transfer photos from my macbook to my imac, with the same version og iphoto, but it seems that the imac is having trouble to give me clean photos, as if it was putting 2 images, one on the other.... any suggestion for a clean and quick transfer ? and to what may cause that the photos seems blurry ?
    thanks
    Lau

Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

  • How can i transfer photos from my macbook to a regular USB

how can i transfer photos from my macbook to regular USB plugged in it

For a few photos, you can select them in the iPhoto library then drag and drop them to the USB key. This is a copy, so the originals will remain in iPhoto.
To move the whole library, use the procedure described here:

NOTE: When you post questions concerning just about anything on a Mac, it is essential to include information about the version of Mac OS that you are running. The latest - what you have, is OS 10.9.1.
