Is possible to use href= and onclick=Ajax.request to track outgoing link?

Hi,
I´m new in Oracle Apex and i'm trying now to track outgoing links on my Apex 3.2.1 application.
When the user clicks on a link of my application that redirects to an outgoing site, I want them to be taken to the site (href) and I also want a background script that register in a oracle table this "click".
For example, i have this link in an APEX page:
When user cliks in this link, i would like to execute in background an oracle procedure, with a parameter. Let´s call this procedure, for example:
SP_REGISTRA_ACESS_LINK(:P19_COD_TOPICO).
This procedure insert a record in a table called BAC_ACESS, storing in it the SYSDATE and the value of ":P19_COD_TOPICO".
Is it possible to link to a new site and call an AJAX request at the same time?
Could some one give me a example of how i can do it? How i can implement it in my Apex 3.2.1 application?
I´m working with Apex 3.2.1 and RDBMS 9i. I can not upgrade none of these releases, cause Apex is installed in a production database that can be upgrade now to 10g/11g.

Very interesting. I didin´t know that this APEX_UTIL exists...
Although that, i developed a customized access control to specific "media itens" of my application, for example:
- Download of documents or programs;
- Play of videos;
- Play of audios;
- Acess of CLOB records of a table, that were displayed as a kind of HTML page;
- Outgoing links;
I do not want to control all the Apex application as, for example, tabs, report pages, charts, forms, etc.
All these media itens are stored on oracle tables, and where displayed in apex reports. Customer clicks on a link of this report and the media is displayed to the user.
I have sucess to control quite all the medias display.
The only one i could not have success to control are these outgoing links. These links were stored in a oracle table and were displayed in a apex interactive report.
I would like to know if i can implement my custom rutine to register these access. I think that i could to it with Ajax scripts.

it is, but not as straightforward as with standard graphs.
As a starting point take a look at the example shipped with LV: Modified Smith Plot with Zooming.vi; you find it in picture examples.

Is it possible to use SCCP and SIP at the same time?

Our CCM is using v9.1 and all of our phones are SCCP. We are looking at a conference room phone that runs SIP. Would it be possible to use this in our current setup?

That's totally fine. They both co-exist in the same environment but make sure to not configure the same extension in different models because if you dial an extension that is configured in a SCCP phone and a SIP phone, just the SCCP phone rings.

Is it possible to use fullscreen and exclusive mode with a jfilechooser?

is there a way to use them together? while in fullscreen exclusive mode the jfilechooser doesn't attach to fullscreen window and it halts the program.. I've tried setting the parent frame as the fullscreen frame but it's all glitched.. am I missing something?

Possible to use arrays and merge?

Is it possible to use the results of APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE in a merge statement? For example:
l_selected := APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(:P4_V_METHODS); 
l_methods := APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(:P4_VERIFICATION_SEQ);
merge into verification_results vr 
using l_methods on ( 
l_methods = vr.verification_seq

It's a bit of a convoluted task that may not be possible. I've got checkboxes that hold the reference values (method_seq) and a hidden item that returns a string of the primary keys of a rel table (verification_results.verification_seq) and I want to merge what was stored and any new/different things that were checked.
Y'all are going to want an example on apex.oracle.com, aren't you...

TDMS: is it possible to use sender and receiver client within the same SID

I have a general question about TDMS: i always read that it is possible to refresh data from a productive system/client to a test system/client, e.g. PRD100 => DEV100. But is it also possible to refresh data from one sender-client to the receiver-client inside the same system using TDMS, e.g. DEV100 => DEV200.
i'm asking because if i start to build up a new client using tdms the first step is to build up the client using package "ERP Initial Package for Master Data & Customizing". This includes under point "data transfer" the step "lock the system" with teh following description:
Lock System
Activities
During data deletion in the receiver client, the tables are dropped. All clients in the system are affected by this procedure. Consequently, all users in all clients in the receiver system must be temporarily locked while the data deletion takes place.
The function for this activity locks only the current client. If the receiver system is a single client system, it is sufficient to execute the function. If, however, the receiver system is a multi-client system, the user in the other clients must be locked using standard means.
Anyone has any experience with this scenario inside the same system?

You can run TDMS package on the same system and between different clients. However SAP don't recommend to run TDMS package on the same system.
There are 2 ways to delete data in receiver system: Array delete and drop insert.
You have to use Array Insert only which is usually very slow as it first select all the relevant entries from the tables in the target client and then drop it. So, it is slow.
Drop insert is much optimized and fast but the same can not be used in this use case.
That is the reason SAP don't recommend to have TDMS run in same system.

Possibility of using pdf and html postings

we are using SAP E-Recruiting Release 604. We are using a external channel which sends out mails with the posting to several universities automatically. Now we want to switch from pdf posting to html posting. Unfortunately the universities can not print html postings and prefer pdf postings. Is there a possibility to switch to html posting but still send mails with pdf postings?

you can generate the PDF in the workflow manually and than send the mail manually.
But I prefer the PDF version too. Why switch to HTML?
Maybe you should use the XML posting option instead?

Possible to use Airport and Ethernet at same time?

Short question: I want to use my wired Ethernet connection for my local area network to access my file servers and other computers on my network, and a wireless Airport connection for Internet usage.
Is this possible? How?
It seems that with both "on", I am connecting to both via Ethernet and it is forgoing the wireless network entirely even though it shows as connected to my wireless network.

This is normally done like this.
Your Internet Service Provider furnishes you a Modem.
You run an Ethernet cabale from your ISP's Modem to the Wan Port, or uplink port on your wireless Router, ( You will have to purchase the Wireless Router.
Wireless Routers are available in 2 4 and 6 port varietys.
Anything you plug into the ports as many computers as you have ports for hard wired connections. This will allow for wired and wireless connections to the Internet and all can be used simultaniouslly.
Remember each machine you have connected will have to have the correct setting in the Network Preferences.
This can also be done with a Switch or a Hub each varys a little bit on the confiquration.. If you need more information be specific on exactly what all you are trying to hook up and what ISP you have the Modem they furnish, the exact router you are using and the number of machines and how they are set in the Network setting on each,
Normally any wireless router you purchase will give you a step by step on hoe to set it up, in the paper work that comes with them. Good Luck Don

Is it possible to use transparency AND outer glow within a composition target?

I've created a composition which uses a bunch of buttons to show different overlays over a background image. The idea is that you can see through the overlaid images using 50% opacity (for example) to see the image underneath, thereby understanding the context of the overlaid image. I also wanted to highlight the overlaid image with an outer glow. This sort of works but I can't get the outer glow AND the opacity to work together, when applied to the state of the overlaid image. If I apply them both I lose the 50% opacity. In the end I've had to apply the 50% opacity to the composition target itself but this is not ideal as this impacts other elements within the target (such as a box with text describing the overlaid image). The outer glow and opacity work fine when applied to an image OUTSIDE of the composition e.g. a picture placed on the page.

All the composition targets have 50% opacity (or 75% on click) applied to the target itself and the the outer glow applied to the picture EXCEPT "Cubby Pair" which has opacity 50% AND outer glow applied to the picture. As you can see the "Cubby Pair" seems to ignore the opacity setting and is 100% opaque.

Edit: when I Preview in Muse it works but not when I view in browser (both IE and Chrome, haven't tried Firefox)

I think I solved my own question. Instead of using "Opacity" next to the "Effects" option I have used "Fill" opacity. This appears to work fine now.

Confirm delete in a report using href and img

Found lots of references to this for buttons on a page, and a couple of others that are close - but my implementation of it just doesn't work for some reason.
I'm presenting a user with a long list of items in an sql report, and against each line give them a delete option within the report. They want a confirm delete popup, so I have tried a few variations on:

Not much hair left on the head at the moment.

i am having a jsp form which will perform upload as well as download.There is a seperate servlet for download and upload.For downloading i use doGet method and doPost for the upload.how can i change the method dynamically for the above cases.

in your jsp, if you call:
request.getMethod();
it should the string "GET" or "POST" depending on the HTTP method used, so you could do something like

Using Firefox and BigPond email, can't open email links when in a web page page.

In Australia - Victoria. Using Telstra Bigpond as email/internet provider. When browsing web pages with email links, cannot click on the link to open the email link. It says, no default email program exists. Email works fine outside of a web page. Can anyone help?

Using join and batch reading in the same query

Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to use "Joining" and "batch reading" in the same query.
For example I Have
A -> 1-1 B
A -> 1-1 B
B -> 1-M C
This is the case where I have two separate 1-1 relationships to the same class B from A. Toplink 10.0.3 can manage it nicely through joining.
Now, I would like to read a set of As (with its 2 Bs) and all Cs for each B.
It seems that the following configuration does not work:
A -> 1-1 B (use joining)
A -> 1-1 B (use joining)
B -> 1-M C (Batch read)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have an application that have to publish document from xml document that are not part a oracle 10g database but will be stored into Oracle Berkeley XML database insteed. Is it possible to use server and/or desktop to publish these documents ?
I test the desktop edition using the source xml document but it render no data when the template is executed (vizualization)
I installed the server edition and i'm not able to declare xml document as a data source
So i have a doubt that xml publisher is able to publish something from a xml datasource

Yes, it is possible.
The problem should come from your template. Refer to "edit a RTF template" in the docs.
A fact is that XML Publisher server edition is not very adapted to an XML file datasource. In order to use it, you should use an HTTP datasource, with the URL of your XML document (that you should place on a web server...). The problem is that this URL is fixed and point always on the same reference...so XML Publisher server edition is not very good for that use.
I choose to use the XML Publisher Java API which is better for this task.

I use blacks and white sliders on every photo (this does not necessarily imply non-zero values). I consider them as important as any other slider. Not optional, not for fine tuning - include consideration each iteration.
Although that is contrary to what Adobe and many "experts" recommend, I tried doing it their way too but I could not get the results I wanted in most cases.
The "concept" and original intent is for fine tuning, but the implementation is not. I often set whites to +20, +30, +40. This has a radical effect on overall exposure which is the most important thing to get right in PV2012. And it generally requires compensatory adjustment of highlights, shadows, and sometimes contrast...
Likewise, optimal shadow toning can include radical blacks adjustment - sorry Adobe/experts/defenders, but for me - it's true. And, blacks slider, like whites, affects entire histogram, a lot.
Summary:
========
If you want to keep things as simple as possible, then use sparingly and use last (gag), but if you want your photos to look how you want them to look - as good as possible, then use liberally, and pay the price...
