Is Premiere elements 10 compatible with Windows 8 professional

Hi. I am currently running Photoshop elements 10 and Premiere elements 10 (64Bit) on a Windows 7 Home Premium machine. The Hardware specs are pretty good, with a I7 2.5 processor, 8GB RAM, 2GB dedicated video card etc.
I was planning to upgrade myself to Windows 8 Professional using the $14 offer... however, need to know for sure that these 2 software work with Windows 8 and there are no issues.
Is there anyone here, who has tried to run these 2 software on Windows 8, and if so, what has been your experience. Are there any issues, or any performance lags?
I am pretty sure I do not want to pay the additional dollars to upgrade to version 11, so all responses will be very helpful indeed.
Thanks in advance.

If the program is running great on Windows 7, you should have no problems when you upgrade to Windows 8 -- assuming you're not going from a 32-bit to 64-bit operating system or something else that might affect how the drivers perform.

  • How do add .mov files in Premiere Elements 11 with Windows 8? I get a generic error message.

How do add .mov files in Premiere Elements 11 with Windows 8? I get a generic error message.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your quick response. The original movies were taken on a Canon ES970 (1990's). I don't know the resolution but things were not as high tech back then.,.. I used a Roxio software to convert them on my MacBook Air. I didn't realize that I could use Adobe Premiere Elements to do that or I would have. However my old camera did not have a cable to attach it to a computer and the Roxio software came with it.
I then saved the recordings on an external hard drive. I did not make movies from them using iMovie or edit them in any way. They are simply .MOV files and they can be played on my Mac. Upon realizing how much memory it takes to work on videos, I decided it might be easier to burn DVD's on my husband's  new Dell desktop that came with Windows 8. I downloaded Quicktime as suggested and still the movies can't be added to Premiere.

  • Premiere Elements 3 with Windows 7

I have been using Premiere Elements 3.0 with windows XP and it has been sufficient for what I want to do. I have now upgraded to Windows 7 and the disk will not reinstall the program. I noticed that there was an update for Vista of Premiere Elements 3.0.2, which I tried, but that progam won't run unless I have my original program installed. How can I resolve this to get the progam onto the system? Thanks.

I think XP Mode is only for W7 Pro and W7 Ult. If running under any other of the W7 variants you only get the the 'traditional' Vista compatbility mode. If you have a genuine XP license you can install and run XP in a virtual PC.

  • Is Premiere Elements Compatible with the Canon XH A1?

I have Premiere Elements 3.02 and a powerful computer with 4GB of ram. I want to make sure the Canon XH A1 is Compatible with Premiere Elements before buying.

As an HDV, tape-based camcorder, it should work beautifully, whether you capture the video as HDV or MiniDV.
Canons are a popular high-end brand for Premiere Elements users. The HV20 is held is especially high regard.

  • Premiere Elements 11 with Windows 7 & UAC

In our coporate environment with User Access Control set to prevent standard users from making changes to a computer it appears that Premiere Elements 11 (and 12) are requesting administrative rights to burn a DVD or convert a video.  This is proving a headache for us in the IT department as users are unable to perform some of the basic tasks of the software without being made an administrator.
Making a standard user an adminstrator or turning off UAC is not an option for us so my question is whether anything can be done to resolve this?

This is a user to user forum, so you're not likely to find an answer to that question here.
More likely you'll need to contact Adobe's Tech Support directly and see if they can customize the program for you.

  • Is Adobe Premiere Elements 10 compatible with Windows 8? Or maybe it will have problems?

Is Adobe Premiere Elements 10 compatible with Windows 8? Or maybe it will have problems?

I have Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 8.1 64 bit, and it runs well there.
But, I must disagree with SG when he writes
It will likely run. But it will not be able to take advantage of Windows 8's advanced architecture (including the 64-bit operating system and ability to access more than 4 gigs of RAM).
You can prove to yourself that Premiere Elements 10 is a 64 bit application running on Windows 8 64 bit. To do this use the Process Explorer Sysinternals and add a Image Type Column readout. When you do this for Premiere Elements 10, 11, or 12 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the readout tells you that you are working with a 64 bit version.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
And, as a 64 bit application, Premiere Elements 10, 11, or 12 Windows should be able to take full advantage of the 64 bit system when Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
I suspect SG is thinking Mac not Windows in his comment. It is my recollection that Premiere Elements 10 Mac is still a 32 bit application on 64 bit system. And, you are using Windows, not Mac.
We will watch for his clarification on this point or for support for what he posted as is.

Is photoshop elements 10 and premiere elements 10 compatible with windows 8.1?  I am upgrading from XP and am trying to determine if I should go to 8.1 or windows 7?

    MakoM
Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 are compatible with Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit. I have them installed on those operating systems and no problems. My video card is Intel HD Graphics.
But, a major question is what video card will be used? There is a major issue with Premiere Elements 10 users whose computers use a NVIDIA GeForce video card. It is fixed by rolling back the driver to about May 2013. This is a user to user fix. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has offered one. Full details are the Announcement at the top of the Premiere Elements Forum

  • Is Adobe Premiere Elements 7 also compatible with Windows 7?

I have bought some months before Premiere Elements 7...
is it compatible with Windows 7??

    Hi Bob,
I had the same problems with video capturing with Windows 7 and Premiere Elements 7 and 8.
The problem is not with Premiere Elements, but with the Firewire driver in Windows 7.
I wrote and article on it and have it posted on our web site.   Here is the link to it and
it explains step by step how to fix the problem.

I should only take you a few minutes to fix the Firewire capture problem.

  • Is Photoshop Elements 11 compatible with Windows 8.1?

Is Photoshop Elements 11 compatible with Windows 8.1? I got a new computer 2 months ago and have been loading in my photos and pngs slowly and tagging all of them. If I understand correctly, even though I am saving the tagging to the metadata, Elements warns me that it will not save to pngs, which is what most of mine are. As I have added about half now (about 100 hours of tagging) my computer is freezing up and will no longer open my Elements. My computer completely froze and needed tech support for several hours to get anything to work again. The tech support couldn't find any malware to explain this problem and have concluded that the Elements is not compatible with my operating system. I have not been really pleased with this computer from the start and am not totally convinced that Elements is the cause of the initial lock up of my computer. I am willing to purchase a newer version of Elements if that is the problem, but am worried I will get a newer Elements, go through the loading and tagging process and have the same thing happen again, especially if I have to retag everything I just did. I cannot find anywhere that specifically states whether Elements 11 is compatible with Windows 8.1 (only windows 8). Before I go to a lot of trouble, does anyone know for sure whether Elements 11 is compatible with Windows 8.1? Thanks,Donna

    PSE11 will run as a 32-bit application in W8.1-64, PRE11 will run as a 64-bit application.
