Firefox 5,prints page background colours even though printing background colours is disabled in page setup.

More to the point on this, I think, is that both RGB and CMYK values listed for any spot color are "best approximations" (many, perhaps most, spot colors have no good CMYK equivalent, and that would be true as well for some subset using RGB) using Pantone's unknown color space. Even in that space the probability of getting an actual match between the simulation and the true spot ink is close to zero. Using some other space makes things worse, and since there is no way to know the sapce in use at Pantone, you're kind of up the creek.
For CMYK converison you can do reasonably well by using the Ink manager to convert the spot to process and check the bok to Use Lab Values at the same time. For RGB, I have no idea how to come close, at all.

Click the + button at the bottom of the printer list
If your printer appears....not all printers are supported....click on the name to highlight it
Click the Add button to install the printer at the AirPort Express location
Try to print. You must choose the correct printer at the AirPort Express location since the printer is "installed" at other locations on your network.
If you open Print & Scan again, and select the printer at the AirPort Express, there is an option to make the printer the "default" location, so you do not have to choose which location to select when you want to print.

Coupon printer will not work in Firefox 4.0 Worked fine in 3.6

I cannot print coupons in the new Firefox 4.0. I had no problem in the 3.6. It tells me to install the coupon printer but it is already installed. Worked fine before.

But a great hint is- Always click on the [Create a Saved Book] button, early in your new book design.
Then you have a permanent link to the book in the Collections panel. (In addition to the standard collection of your selected images)
Note: a Book Collection shows an icon that looks like a book.
Every time you come back to edit the book, open the Book Module by clicking on the white arrow that appears on the end of your Book Collection title. (The title as saved)
Re-opening a book without using the "Saved Book" option can have unpredictable results.
A "Book" Collection is like a "Smart Collection" because anything you do to the book design, change pages, change images, etc, is automatically updated in the Saved Book collection.

I have a canon MX7600 multifunction printer. My security setting allow connection with the printer. If I disable the firewall it works fine. If the firewall is running I get a dialog box every time I print asking for permission. How do I fix this?

I have a canon MX 7600 multifunction printer. Each time I print I get a dialog box asking for permission to allow connections to the printer. This box stays on my screen for a few seconds, if I don't click allow I get a communication error which then requires me to delete the job and start over. I contacted Canon and proceeded with their suggestions to no avail. They now say it is an Apple issue. My security settings are set to allow connection to the canon printer. If I disable the firewall it works fine, once I enable the firewall the problem returns. This issue is a royal pain. Any suggestions on how to fix it short of buying a new printer?

Why have mac OS 10.5.8 printer settings been restricted in Firefox

When I call for a printing of a page in Firefox, my Epson NX420 will no longer allow plain paper as a media option in printer settings, but only photo and presentation papers; and it allows only the Best Photo option under Print Quality. In both cases, other options are grayed out. Gray Scale is also grayed out.
Why have the grayed-out options become unavailable in Firefox (but not, e.g., in Chrome)? How can I restore them?

Try updating to the latest 23.0.1 version of Firefox, and see how it is.

Thanks John for the suggestion. I was finally able to dwonload the newest drivers today when I signed on. Seems like if you let one day go by Software Update will look at your version of the driver and will finally let you download the newest. That did not help. Nothing but communication errors. It would not even let me load the the new driver as it would no longer ever see the printer.
Yesterday, for further explanation, I was working at the computer when I heard the printer chime a few times. When I looked over the green light, which normally signals it is receiving a file to print, was flashing away. I was doing nothing and I finally had to turn it off. I spoke with another techie friend who is a big Mac user and has the same printer and he suggested it may be the USB circuit. This printer has been on for 5 years with a few days off. We have concluded the circuits are past their useful life and I will soon send the printer to be recycled somewhere. A new printer is on the way as I need this device.
Again, thank you for your suggestion and I will mark this solved due to mechanical failure.

Background app refresh disabled

Hello all,
I love running, and therefore I've used Nike+ running for many years now. Currently I use an iPhone 5s, with iOs 8.1 When starting the app, the message "Background App Refresh Disabled, Open settings and enable Background App Refresh so that we can track your runs in the background". However, when I look this up in settings there is no Nike+ in that list to activate.So, At this moment, I'm no longer able to use this app.
What's wrong? How come that my girlfriend (iPhone 5C, iOs 8.1) doesn't have this problem?
I've tried:
- Reinstalling the app
- Downloading the app on my phone with my girlfriends Apple ID
Anyone out there with a possible solution?

Thought I'd reply to this seen as no one else has, I am also experiencing very similar problems with my 4s and by the looks of it is it's across all handsets. I've never had any battery issues with my iPhone even 7.0.6 was fine, but since updating to 7.1 the battery is ticking down very fast. I fully charged in the morning and left it in my locker all day at work when I got my hands on it it's gone down to 52% just on its own!!
I really hope they sort this out fast the irony is 7.1 was supposed to help battery life!

Hi the-edmeister, thank you for your post. I have tried this and found the button to be there as you said but the print preview function does not seem work with Firefox 8. Unless I am doing something wrong. In the add-ons section I could only find print preview button for 0.7.7 this I have installed with above result. For further assistance, I will need the following information:
The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If the printer settings are disabled on the computer, or on the printer's control panel.
If there are any messages when trying to access these settings.

Background Display Problems in Firefox

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me with my problem...
I'm working on a website and having problems with the main
text area (body) of the website.
I have a main div, with two div's (left) floated within it
(the left hand column contains the body text and the right hand
column contains a Navigator). See CCS below:

As you can see I have repeated an image in the Main div. This
works fine in IE6 but not in Firefox. Firefox doesn't display the
background image or even the background colour, unless I set an
actual pixel height for the div (which I can't do as it will need
to be a different size on every page depending on content).
What do I need to do to correct this? Any help would be
gratefully received.

Why can I no longer print from this version of firefox

with previous versions of firefox I have had no problem with printing direct from webpages and email but with this version Firefox 4.0.1 when I request to print page the browser freezes and the only way out is to close down the browser and start again. I can cut and paste into word and then print but I want to be able to print direct. How can I resolve this issue?

Every time I try to print a file to Adobe PDF, I get the message "Firefox is not responding". When I try to cancel the print job, all of my Firefox tabs shut down. This just started today. Up until today, I could print a page to Adobe PDF with no problem.

The print dialouge box comes up. I select print to PDF. Another box comes up and says it is preparing the document (This is the way it has always been). Then, nothing. It says Firefox is not responding. If I try to close out the print box, it not only closes the page I was on, but any other open tabs in Firefox. How can I fix this?

Hp smart web printing does not work on firefox. HP says this is not their problem and to contact Mozilla. Is there a plug in available?

I just bought a new hp printer. the software has a feature called HP web smart printing. The feature works on explorer but not on Firefox. HP says this is not their problem and suggested I contact Mozilla. Is an add on available and if not will one be made available.
I am using v. 3.6.13. and the printer is HP Officejet 4500.

HP smart web printing is an application that only works with IE. In spite of what HP have told you, if they want their application to work with Firefox they will need to make a version for Firefox. It is not down to Mozilla to make a version of the HP software for Firefox.
