Is Pro required for AutoCAD

In the product descriptions, it states that 9 Pro has AutoCAD functionality. Are these additional functions in AutoCAD or do I require 9 Pro to create any AutoCAD PDF's, period.
I would like to just purchase 9 Standard.
Thanks for your help.
Dave

Hello Mr. Schultz,
AutoCAD and all other more advanced integrations require Acrobat Professional.
Hope this helps.
With kind regards.

  • Requirements for AutoCAD(2D & 3D)

I was wondering how significant the processor speed is for sing autoCAD. I know the higher the better but when I go onto their website and look at the requirements for mac they dont state specifically for mac what the processor speed should be. Because I dont want to have to spend an extra $600 for the 27 inch 3.1 GHZ if i can get the 21 inch with 2.8 GHZ. So my question is can I just get the 21 inch with the 2.8 GHZ processor, or should i just fork up the extra money so I know that I won't have any problems in the future? Is there that big of a difference?

CAD/CAM and other graphics intensive apps use a lot of CPU power and video RAM. While you may be very happy with a 2.8GHz machine the performance would be better with a faster CPU, even the optional i7 machine found in the online Apple Store, most brick and mortar Apple Stores do not carry it.
My recommendation would be to upgrade the RAM to the maximum however buy the RAM from reputable resellers such as OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial, DO NOT buy RAM from Apple. The reason being is it's horribly overpriced.
If you cannot afford the $600 for upgrades then you are probably not financially ready to buy and should save some more. Remember you will need additional accessories such as external HD's for backing up (CRITICAL!!!!), RAM upgrades, and possibly other apps besides AutoCAD.

  • MacBook Pro requirements for Lightroom rendering.

I'm about to buy a MacBook Pro. Do I need to spend another 1000 $ to get the dedicated graphics card, or can Photoshop/Lightroom render without?

Photoshop requires (and benefits) more from a dedicated graphics card than does Lightroom.

I'd wait. What can't you do that you need? You mean you want to buy a new model, then why not wait for an actual new one, not the two year old 5,1, when you need to and have outgrown.
Yours will run Mountain Lion. yours is 4 yrs old and still supported and has life left.

  • MacPro 2,1 Videocard Upgrade Requirements for Final Cut Pro X ?

I bought Final Cut Pro X in June, had no problem to install it on my MacPro 2,1 with processor
2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, RAM 4 GB and Graphic Card and  ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB running under Mac OS Snow Leopard. Recently I upgraded RAM to 8 GB. After switching to Mac OS Lion in july it continued to run in an unchange manner, even if not totally satisfactory due to the known buggy behavior of FCP X reported by many users, but it was anyway as usable as when I installed it.
Yesterday I decided to update FCPX to version 10.0.01, and did so in recommended manner by first deleting version 10.0.0 to the trash and empty the trash can. When I was going to install the new version of FCPX, as recommended, from the "Purchased" department of Appstore, I was denied to do so due to this message: "We could not complete Your purchase - Your computer’s video card does not meet the minimum system requirements".
That´s it, and here I´m stocked in a situation not being able to use FCP X which I have payed 229 $ for, because Apple has taken the right from me to use this application anymore. I can understand that Apple give You good recommendations concerning "the requirements" for running an application, but I doubt it´s acceptable and fair of Apple denying/hindering me to buy the product anyway, or, as in this case of mine, to use a product I´ve already payed for. Fact is, that even if the recommended requirements in respect to my video card not is met for this application (FCPX), so far I´ve still been able to use and benefit from it despite my computers "substandard quality" for running FCP X.
So, now I´m feeling forced to invest in a new videocard as well, if I want to continue to use my bought license of FCP X...What card do I need?
I´m considering to buy the video card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB - do You think this card is compatible with my MacPro 2,1 build, and will meet the requirements of Final Cut Pro X version 10.0.01?

I wonder if there's any reason why OpenCL couldn't be an optional processing preference?
That way folks who had computers which do not have OCL or other cards which don't meet the spec could at least function knowing that the renders would not be optimal - or maybe real time playback of non optimized media might not be possible. But at least they'd be able to function.
I'm sure OCL cant be  necessary for General display purposes in a 2D environment like video editing.
To shut out someones system without warning in a 0.01 update seems a bit radical to me.

  • What are the system requirements for Final Cut Pro 7?

I can't find the system requirements for Final Cut Pro 7, I can find the system requirements for X, but like I said not 7.
I need to know the system requirements for Final Cut Pro 7, so I can buy the correct Macbook.
Is there anyway I can find out the system requirements.

    Thanks
I'm somewhat inept about things like this, so I just want to make sure once more: This is in regards to Final Cut Pro 7?

  • IMac requirements for Pro Tools 10

    Hi guys,
I'm currently working in a music studio as a producer. I've always been a Windows guy but as Pro Tools on the Mac is an industry standard, I need to migrate. I've never owned a mac before. I'm strongly swaying towards the iMac 27" with the 2.7ghz CPU and 4gb of ram. My question, does this system have enough punch for Pro Tools 10? I will often be using 10-15 tracks each with varying VSTs. Would this system struggle?
    Many thanks guys :)

Hello Joel, & a wam welcome!
27" should do it, but I'd go for the 3.4 GHz i7, add the 2 GB Graphics option, extended AppleCare, & add More RAM yourself, as much as you can afford, up to 32 GB...

If you’re using Pro Tools HD 10, you’ll need a minimum 4 GB of RAM, but 8 GB is recommended (even more will be helpful if you want to use the new Extended Disk Cache functionality in Pro Tools HD 10).

  • Requirements for participants - must they have Acrobat Connect Pro for meetings?

I am soon participating in a "eLearning" program and we have been told that the meetings are within "Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting".
It is not clearly stated anywhere if I need to subscribe and have this program installed myself or if it is actually only the host that needs the program.
Is having Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting installed/subscribed a requirement for the participants?
Thanks for any help - hope Adobe will state this much clearer on their webpages in the future.

All the techical requirements for joining a meeting are listed here: Adobe Connect system requirements, web conferencing, Mac | Adobe Connect
Basically you need to have Flash Player 11.2 or newer.

  • Win8 Pro 64 or Win7 Pro 64: Configuring W530 for AutoCAD LT 2013/2014

    Hi all,
Can those with experience with the W530 chime in on this issue?  I'm looking at the W530 primarily for 2D drafting and some light photoshop work.
Which version of Windows would work better my case?  Currently using Win 7 Pro 32 with AutoCAD 2010 so I'm leaning towards Win7.
    Thanks for any input!

    Thanks for the information!
I also suceeded after I did the following steps.
I booted into Mac OS X and launched Boot Camp Assistant.
From there I selected Copy Windows ISO image to a USB drive. Then I selected the Windows 8 ISO image after I copied it to my Mac partition. It then did its magic and I ended up with a USB drive called WININSTALL.
Then I booted back to Windows 7, launched the USB drive window and double clicked on setup.exe
Voila! Windows 8 Installer proceeds with the installation, with Apple Boot Camp drivers installed automatically as well and the Mac no longer freezes at the Personalise screen.

  • W700ds add Monitor for AutoCad.

    Hello
    I have a Lenovo W700ds, Machine = 2757 - CTO, Windows 8.1 Pro, 64 bit System.
with a Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M Graphics Card, Display port 1.1, current Graphics Driver 331.82.
According to Matrox Graphics my system as is can produce Max. Display Port output of 4096 x 1152 x 60 Hz Resolution Total.
( this is for TWO external Monitors, not including the Laptop screen. 17" ) ( not using 10" screen)
I have a ASUS VE278Q, Max. Res. 1920 x 1200 x 60 Hz.( working now with Main laptop screen, works well)
    I intend to buy a ASUS PA279Q Professional 27” AH-IPS 16:9 2560 x 1440 WQHD Monitor.
( Yes, have DVI and Display Port on back of W700ds.)
    Run Display Port 1.1 from computer to ASUS PA279Q Professional 27” AH-IPS 16:9 to achieve 2176 x 1152 x 60 Hz. resolution.
Daisy Chain Display Port 1.2 to ASUS VE278Q, to get Max. Res. 1920 x 1200 x 60 Hz.
Achieving three Monitors. Laptop screen for basic input. ASUS VE278Q, for tool bars for Autocad and ASUS PA279Q to draw AutoCad on.
Hopeing the ASUS PA279Q gives a very nice surface to draw on and see the fine lines well.
Do you agree with this plan and will it work?
    Thank You
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

the splitter requires the two monitor to have the same resolution. It essentially is making the two monitors as one larger monitor. So 2 x 1920 x 1200 becomes 3840 x 1200.
