Is PS WebServer IP address bound in any configuration files?
We are moving our 8.20 and 8.44 tools Peoplesoft Web Servers (HCM and FSCM) to new hardware (via Physical to Virtual process). The Server names won't change though the IP addresses will. I wanted to double check with the community users to see if IP addresses are bound to any PS configuration files found on the Web Servers. I have checked config.xml and just see the Servername and listen ports but no IP address. 'running-managed-servers.xml' configuration file does have an IP and Servername but in a previous test of a physical to virtual server process, we had changied the host IP and found out that this file did get updated auotmatically with the new host IP. Not sure if there are any others??

I have the feeling that it is rather a caching issue. The problem is like this:
Current Development configuration has as Repo. location and Build Tool Location 192.168.20.99:50000. This IP is not valid anymore. New one is 10.50.0.99:50000. If we enter this address in the current configuration and save it we get the error from Haralds post. As you can see the error mentions the old IP address not the new one...
If I create a new Dev. Conf. using 10.50.0.99:50000 there is no problem at all. I can create a fresh development configuration. But of course all our source code in the other broken development configuration. and I cant export the content from old one since it is broken because of the wrong IP address.
If I download the XML for the old development configuration using "Download Development Configuration" I see that the old IP address is used 3 places. Is it possible to fix this XML manuallly and upload it somehow?

nas on airport extreme not recognized by time machine. same nas was previously used as time machine backup on different airport extreme. are there any configuration files that i can delete to fix this problem ?
Time Machine has been working just fine, but in the last week or two it has given up the ghost. I reset the connections to the drive, and it will basically save a few bytes of data and then hang.
Although Apple originally announced, prior to the release of the first 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Stations (AEBSn), that it would support Time Machine backups to AirPort Disks, they removed that option before they did finally release the base station for sale.
Since then, Apple has posted (as you have noted) that they DO NOT support Time Machine backups to AirPort Disks. As far as I know, they have not changed from that position and those who do these backups find that they become corrupted over time. Sorry, but it sounds like you just confirmed that for yourself.
1) Has one of the recent updates either on the AE (firmware) or OSX disabled this function?
No. Again, this feature has never been supported by Apple for every generation of AEBSn released.
2) Are there any changes I can make to get this working again?
If your data backups are critical to you, then you will want to use a different solution for your Time Machine backup destination drive strategy. I would suggest that you connect your WD My Book directly to your Mac in the mean time.
Your other options would be to either use a Time Capsule (which interestingly does support TM backups to AirPort Disks) or a non-Apple solution like the Drobo FS or HP MediaSmart server. -

I have a Mac Pro using OSX 10.7.4. When using apple mail I click on the address icon to obtain email address and nothing happens. I've restarted both the application and the Mac but still won't open address book. Any ideas please.
Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account. -

I think this is a stupid question But I just can't remember what I'm missing. It's been a while since I set one of these up.
I have just installed Lion and Server on a Mac Mini 2.66GHz C2D
I'm not trying to change the Open Directory settins from Standalone directory to an Open Directory Master.
When I do it saks me to create a directory adminstrator account. No problem. But when I hit continue on that screen I get a message saying:
"The hostname does not resolve to any configured address. Please ensure your hostname and network configuration is correct."
Now, I think this is because I haven't set up any DNS zones yet. But I'm not sure about that...
So can anyone(s) help me with these two things:
1. Is the Open Directory master I'm trying to set up dependent on setting up DNS first?
2. If so, can someone tell me what I'm supposed to do in the DNS, because for the life of me I can't remember anything about it.
I'll be very grateful for any help...

Ok, so as already noted, I've completely forgotten how I set this up last time, but I remember that I still have an archive of my old Snow Leopard server before I upgraded it to Lion.
So I've fired that up in Server Admin to see how I set up the DNS in that, and see if that can remind me how to set up the same on my new Lion server.
I believe I've set it all up correctly, but alas, I'm still getting the same error message when I try to create the open directory master. So I must be doing something wrong still. I just wish I knew what that was.
I've attached screen shots of my settings. If you or anyone else can tell me what I'm doing wrong, then again, I'd be grateful!
The routing is done by my Airport Extreme, with the .200 IP address being assigned by DHCP client ID. The IP address of this machine is in fact 10.0.1.200. These settings are exactly the same (with one exception) as my (working) Snow Leopard server and just to be clear I'm not trying to run both servers at once!
The one exception is this: The first line in the screen shot says "1.0.10.in-..." (from the non-working Lion server), whereas on my Snow Leopard server, the same line says "200.1.0.10.in-..." Everything else is the same. I can't seem to see any way of "correcting" that. Is that the cause of the problem? And if so, how do I fix it? If not, what *is* the problem?

I just downloaded Maverick last week, and ALL of my contact groups have duplicated. When I use one to send a group e-mail, everything is doubled in the address bar. Any suggestions? Very frustrating.

Why can't I open and retrieve my files from iPhoto and my Address Book after importing the files from my Power Mac G5 to my new Mac Pro? I get a warning that says the new OS on my Pro doesn't open files from a Power Mac. Any idea how I can fix this?
For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. Here's the situation: I want to create LOV, that is not bound to any field in any view object. Basically, I want to have an ability to select a value from some dataset (with all Search and Select functionality), but I do not need to save the selected value into some field (in fact, it will go to some attribute of declarative component). Is it possible to do in a "declarative" way, or I need to make my own implementation of TableModel, QueryModel and ListOfValuesModel (perhaps from scratch)?

The first Get-ACL is receiving pipeline input of all of the grandchildren of $Files, but you're also giving it the $Files parameter - that's your error.
You're also formatting output in the middle of the pipeline, I don't think that's going to work out well for you. When you run get-acl you also lose the directory name, so the fullname attribute is meaningless at that point.
Maybe try something more like this:

Note that with Powershell v4 there's a -directory parameter for Get-ChildItem that would be better than this exclude. I work with older systems so I use older PS to avoid any pitfalls. In this case, if you have any files without extensions in those
subdirectories you'll pick those up as well. -
My iPad2 (wifi only) is significantly slower since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2. Is Apple addressing this? Any way to go back to iOS 7?
I run an iPad 2 on iOS 8.0.2 and have no significant speed issues (FWIW).
Try resetting the iPad by holding the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears.

I am having a lot of frustrations opening any pdf files on Safari.
I re-installed adobe acrobat reader 7.0.9 and nothing is happening.

I'm having this problem as well. I have both Acrobat Professional 8.1.2 and Adobe Reader 8.1.2 installed with the proper internet plug-in, using OS 10.4.11. When I try to open a pdf file in Safari I get a window asking me to choose an application to open the file, but both applications are dimmed and cannot be selected. I have tried re-installing Acrobat Reader, but without success. In Firefox I simply get a blank, darkened window. __Previously, before I installed Leopard and was using Tiger, I had Acrobat Reader 7.0 as well as AR 8.0 installed, and I was only able to select AR 7.0, but it worked. Now nothing works. This is a serious problem that Adobe needs to address! -

First, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forums.
Secondly, Adobe does not support CS3 any longer because it hasn't been sold for years.
Therefore, you're left to the good will of fellow users who volunteer their time here free of charge, if one of them has a solution to your issue. No one is under any obligation to reply, so ask nicely.
One thing I can tell you is that you have not applied any of the versions available for Photoshop. Unfortunately, the Adobe auto updater was an unmitigated piece of cr@p in any version prior to CS6. Do not rely on it to assume you are up to date just because it doesn't show any updates available to you under Help > Updates.
You need to look for the downloads and apply them manually yourself.
I can't offer any more assistance because I don't do Windows. Sorry. -
Direct connection between 2 clients without any configuration!
I wan to make a system act like hamachi or logmein (websever & clients).
I have a webserver on the internet and two client from different networks connected to this webserver, now i want to make directly connection between these clients without any configuration on router. I think it is possible because all infomation about clients network could be got from http request which they send to server. But i don't know what exact fields in the header of http request that i need and how to set them to create connection between clients. I need some ideas about this issue.

There is a proxy or you have to have one side listening with a ServerSocket and have ports opened as needed. You can't create a Socket connection on server A between clients B and C and then pass it off to clients B and C and magically they just talk to each other.
It does not work that way. It is impossible to do it that way. -

I setup NPS server and added a RADIUS Client access point, my project is to get a wireless user to authenticate using his/her AD credientials, my problem is i can't seem to authenticate my user
