Is PSE a long lasting app or must it be upgraded every year

I'm just wondering before i spend the 100 dollars on Photoshop Elements 8.0 if it can be an application that can last several years (like Microsoft Office) or would I need to dish out the hundreds of dollars ever year for the upgrade.
I was looking at Wikipedia and seen since like 2005 there has been a new release every year; so it makes me think next September (2010) there will be a new version.
But if one version can last for a year or two or more then I think it would be worth the 100 dollars to get right?
What do you think?

Depends on what you mean by "long lasting".  Many people run a given version for several years (or more) and have been quite satisfied.  However:
Adobe releases a new version every fall, and it almost never releases "updates" for fixing bugs.  So to get bug fixes, you need to get the new version.  With the last few versions at least, you don't get any effecive discount for upgrading -- you pay what new customers pay.   Also, Adobe customer support has a habit of only providing technical support for the most recent one or two versions.   And if you're moving to Windows 7, Adobe only officially supports PSE 8 (though earlier versions will run), refusing to provide technical support for earlier versions running on Windows 7.

  • Apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 5.1.1 or later, and iOS 7 or later SDK.

    Hi Guys,
i am receiving this error since last 3 days please help me resolve this.
i am already using XCode 5.1.1 and iOS 7 SDK i have regenerated my app store provisioning profile twice after this issue.
my app gets validated by Xcode and also gets uploaded successfully through Application Loader (i.e. latest one 2.9.1 i believe)
but in itunes connect when i try to submit my app for review i receive this error.
"Apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 5.1.1 or later, and iOS 7 or later SDK."

I'm getting the same error as well, using Xcode 6.1 (6A1042b) on OSX 10.9.5.  My project settings in Xcode have “Deployment Target” as “7.0” and “Base SDK” as “Latest iOS (iOS 8.1)”.  I uploaded the app via Xcode, not with the application loader and I've tried re-generating my distribution provisioning profile.
This is an update to an existing app which was previously built against iOS 6.0 sdk but all attempts to submit the update now produce the error message "Apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 5.1.1 or later, and iOS 7 or later SDK."

Using original iPad.  For some reason, whenever i power down and restart, the last app that I placed in a folder is back on the homescreen outside of the folder.  I've done resets, upgraded OS to latest version, etc.  Wiped clean, started from scratch, still get this issue.  Any fix to it?

  • How long lasts the unicity (if any) of the System.identityHashCode()?

How long lasts the unicity (if any) of the System.identityHashCode()?
I created code that keep track of seen identityhashcodes for instances
created and unreferenced in a loop.
**** I was surprised to see that these identityhashcode can be reused! ****
The language spec says noting about the unicity of those (at any given time) and especially not for periods of tiem.
Spec menyions that most jvm would use the heap address (which would explain why these identityhashcode could be reused)
    **** The question is:
At what time is an identityhashcode invalidated and reusable?
If I have a finalize() method, at which time the object is considered unreferenced, could its identityhashcode be reused while the finalize() is running?
My problem is that I associated data to an object, in an external diskcache, by a key whose value is the identityhashcode, (trying to make the key unique), and I must garbage collect it.

Casually? yeah right, 64bit platforms are just a minor
    detail.... ;-)
I wasn't clear about my hopes. I just hoped that for
reflecting new architectures, they would had a new
    method
    like System.getUniqueObjectID(Object):long
Basically, if sun does not add that, it means that
they beleive the java programmers do not have a need
for addressing/keying object instances uniquely, and
we should just do for-loops with "=="....
I will post an RFE to sun, we'll see.
Thanks. It is not required that hashCode every return a value larger then an int. There is no requirement that
two different objects return two different hashCodes. There is only the requirement that if two objects are
the same then they return the same hashcode. Most 32 bit JVM's do not produce a unique hashCode value
for all objects. Because of this there is also no need for 64 bit JVM's to return unique hashcodes. Hence
64 bit JVM's do not need more then an int to represent the hashCode.
The equals() method (or ==) is used to determine whether two objects are equal. Not the hashCode.
Increasing the size of hashCode to a long would break a large number of classes in the JDK all of which
expect an int. HashMap/hashTable/HashSet are the prime users of hashCode. They do not require a value
larger then int as they use the value to index into an array. Arrays cannot be larger then 2^31 elements
long. This also will not change on 64 bit JVM's as changing this limitation would break most of the API's.

  • Is there a way for AutoVue viewer (JVue/VueBean object) to cancel long lasting loading/rendering operation?

Is there a way for AutoVue viewer (JVue/VueBean object) to cancel long lasting loading/rendering operation? In our integration when we try to switch from a document being loading on another one we can get an error message “Cannot load page” (but the document is shown after that). Or if we try to stop loading document by calling jVue.closeDocument() we can see everlasting progress bar and indicator “Loading…” on the status bar.

    No, it is not possible

My ipod touch will no longer sync apps since I downloaded the new Itunes. I have restored it to original setting in hopes that would work, but now I have lost all my apps and even old ones will no longer sync. Can anyone help?

What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

Did some searches, but did not come up with anything regarding your specific issue (the original one, the grey 'waiting' problem is quite common). If no other ofrum users chime in, it is indeed time to contact Apple / iTunes Store support.
If you have not yet one so, Try to Reset your device.  Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).
You could also try to re-download one or two apps, just to see if anything changes. Log in to the iTunes Store, go to the Purchases section and download from the list of past purchases or free apps.
Sorry I wasn't of better help. Good luck.

I only plan on getting free apps on my iPod and i do not want to enter my card number. Is there a way to create an account without enter my card number?

If you are curious and you want to know what iOS you are running - go to Settings>General>About>Version.
Also make sure that you transfer purchases into iTunes from your iPad via File>Transfer Purchases while the iPad is connected to your computer, with iTunes running and with your iPad selected. Also make sure that you backup your iPad  by right clicking on the iPad name under devices and selecting - Backup. Copy any important files to your computer as well before you update your iPad.

I can no longer access apps on my new iPad that we're downloaded on old iPad.  Using cloud.

Are you trying to download them from your purchased list?  If so, make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID you used to purchase them in Settings>iTunes & App Store, and that the apps are still available for purchase in the App store.  Then you should be able to download them as explained here: Download past purchases.
If that isn't your question, please explain further.

  • I can no longer download Apps from App store nor update the existing ones

    iMac 21" Intel
    year 2013
    OSX10.10.1
I can no longer download Apps from App Store.
I would select the app, press the icon to download the App (Ottieni in my language, Italian), download would not start and an alarm saying "Download failed, try from the Purchased page to retry" would pop-up, see screenshot below.
I would visit the page "Purchased" (second icon from right) and try from there by pressing the icon Install on the right hand side but the same pop-up icon would appear and a message by the icon Install saying "An error occurred" would appear.
The same problem occurr when I try to update Keynote, Imovie or any other App I have downloaded.
I do not know whether this is related to this issue but some time ago I installed Avast.
I could not install other apps such as uTorrent (not downloaded through App Store) until I removed Avast.
    I am utterly disappointed.
    Can anyone help, please?
    Thanks.
    Carlo

Yes, Avast could very well be the issue. Bad software, use the developer's instructions to uninstall and don't install again. Your Mac has no real need for most 3rd party anti-viral software and those so-called tune-up apps mess up more than they are worth. A pristine OS X system is all that you need, it takes care of itself.

If you have not taken the iPod apart, Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one for $99. You can do it an an Apple store
