Is purchasing online the only way to get the education pricing?

I need to get a laptop, software and other accessories, but I'm not exactly sure which laptop would be the best fit without going to my local apple store first. Is it possible to take advantage of the education pricing at my local apple store or is it only offered online?

You can get educational pricing for Macs at any Apple Store. You'll need to bring proof of eligibility; a student ID, acceptance letter, faculty/staff ID or other proof of employment, etc. Educational pricing on software and accessories (where academic discounts are offered) are, unless things have changed recently, only available online.

I want my money back and I want it now. Thanks but unfortunately I don't have that option (I'm im Australia) so this will be day 8 that apple have my money without authorisation. The amount has now increased due to the transactions that were pending prior to me cancelling my credit card. The total is now over $300 including the overdrawn fee. It is beyond comprehension that a company the size of apple doesn't have a *real* customer service dept that handle these types of *real* problems immediately via phone contact but I guess that's the point isn't it? If we want to use the apps they provide thru their services and devices we have no choice but to put up with their primitive third world service. I sent them an email via the link you provided 4 days ago. There is no excuse for me to be STILL waiting for this problem to be resolved - none whatsoever, it is disgusting. This is the second macbook pro i have owned in the past two weeks. I am ready to return it for good if this is a chronic issue. Please help if you have had this same issue.

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

Firefox just updated to 5.0.1 when it opens it opens two tabs, one a restore session tab and the other Firefox home tab. Nothing appears in the restore tab and everything freezes. Only way to get out is to ctrl, alt, del.

After updating to Firefox 5.0.1 and trying to open Firefox, it opens two tabs. One is the restore session tab and the other is the Firefox home tab. Nothing opens in the session restore tab and once the Firefox home tab loads the browser screen freezes with no crash ID's listed. The only way to get out is thru the task manager and ending the process. Firefox worked fine before updating.

Try typing ''about:home'' into the address bar. Is that the page you are looking for? If so, go to ''Tools > Options > General'' and save it as your homepage. If that home page doesn't show up the next time you start Firefox, you should look at [[Preferences are not saved]].

Try three things (if you have already followed my first suggestion):
1. Reset the PRAM.
2. Reset the SMC.
3. Trash a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restart.

Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

Check that the HDMI cable is correctly seated at both ends.
Try disconnecting the cable and connecting it again.
Try another HDMI cable.
Make sure your TV supports 720p (Apple TV 2)
Try the Apple TV with another TV

My phone goes off in any time of the day and the only way to get it back is through pressing and holding of Home and Sleep button together

I restored it on I tunes as well did something on the phone. The lastest seems to have helped it but I haven't used it much yet! Thanks for the help & I'll let you know!

Airport is the trade name Apple uses for WiFi. The Mac built-in WiFi hardware is called Airport. The Apple manufactured WiFi base station(s) router are called Airport Extreme and Airport Express (the Apple Time Capsule is also a WiFi base station/router).
A Mac can connet to other manufactures WiFi base stations.
You can also connect to a WiFi bridging device via ethernet and get WiFi access that way, although BDAqua's suggestion of a USB WiFi device might make more sense if it is a Mac laptop.
If you are NOT talking about WiFi, and perhaps talking about using the cell phone cellular network, then you can use Bluetooth to pair your Mac with a cell phone that has the ability to act as a cellular modem for your Mac, you can get a MiFi device that acts as a local WiFi base stations and connects to the Cellular network, and you can get cellular USB devices that can provide cellular connections for the Mac.

So is the cloud the only way to get Light room and most recent edition of PS?

I am thinking of updating my PS(I have cs3) but seems the only way to get it thru adobe where my license is verified is thru the cloud. When did this start? If I can load the app to my computer what stops me from continuing to use it after i quit the cloud? Can I not get older versions of PS and LR thru adobe anymore as a stand aline product?
