IS-R: Picking in Flow Through and Cross Docking

In Merchandise Distribution (conceptually),
- for recipient-driven flow through, picking is done before GI.
- for cross-docking, no picking.
Which configuration controls the picking has to be done in flow-through and not to be done in cross-docking?

Hi,
Path - IMG - Logistics General - Merchandise Distribution -- Plant Profiles for Merchandise Distribution
If you indicate not relevant for picking
or
Delivery Item category - OVLP
Same indicator is available at delivery item category

  • Use of straight through and cross over cable

    hi,
according to icnd1, we need to use crossover cable to connect similar devices, lets say router to router or switch to swicth..
does this really matter? I mean, what if i use straight through cable to connect one switch to another?
    thanks

Hmm, I don't know, does it really matter whether the link between devices can be used?  (Laugh)
As the other posters have noted, many (newer) devices now support auto MDI/MDIX, but some don't.  (Also, on devices that do, auto negotiation might be required to be enabled.)  Some older devices sometimes have "special" uplink ports or manual method to switch the port's MDI/MDIX setting, and for those, too, you can use a strait through cable.
If none of the above, however, you'll need a cross over cable for "similar" device types, i.e. those whose tx/rx pins, on the port, are the same.
You need a cross over cable if both sides are MDI or MDIX (i.e. the same), straight cable if both sides are different.

  • CUBE, Media Flow Through vs. Media Flow Around

So CUBE gives the ability to have either Media Flow-Through or Media Flow-Around.  I think I have a good handle on what the difference between the two is but what are some real-world reasons as to one would be preferred over another?

    Good question.
Media flow-around terminates the signaling stream and allows RTP streams to flow directly between endpoints.
    F. Media flow-through provides address hiding by terminating both signaling and RTP streams.
Media flow through and media flow around mode is supported on the Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE). The CUBE is always involved in the call setup (signaling) portion of the call, but the media (RTP bearer stream) may flow through the CUBE or be routed around the platform.
Media flow around allows the CUBE greater scalability in the number of calls that can be processed by one CUBE router.
For Media flow through option, the media packets are passed through the CUBE, they will get terminated and re-originates with CUBE’s IP address and port number, so here we cannot find the original gateway’s ip address. This is one of the security feature in the CUBE. The default option is “media flow-through”.
In real life I think it is down to scalability. The fact that media doesnt pass through CUBE in flow around means that CUBE can process more calls (CPU, memory etc)..

  • EWM Opportunistic Cross Dock

    Hi All,
I am doing the following scenario and I have all the config and master data setting that is needed to do cross dock.
This scenario is cross dock from the Inbound side
    1. Create Sales order for qty 10 in ECC and that is replicated in EWM.
    2. Wave the ODO in EWM and that creates an WT to pick 10 qty from the GNL location. The WT is still open and I did not confirm it yet. The WT has source and destination HU determined. The WO has Queue assigned based on Queue determination
    3. I now create an Inbound delivery in ECC for same prod and Qty 10 and it is replicated in EWM.
    4. In EWM, I pack the qty 10 in a HU and then I do a 'Goods Receipt' to the GR-ZONE. I don't have a POSC
    5. Now I am manually creating a putaway WT for the ID.
Now this is where my problem is. I was hoping that system will cross dock this inbound delivery with the outbound delivery and in doing so, it will cancel the open Pick WT that was created for the ODO and will create a new cross dock WT but system did not do so. It is creating a direct putaway WT to the GNL location.
ALSO, this process works when for the ODO, I do not create any open WT. In that case, during putaway WT creation it is cross docked.
So the question is, does EWM consider open WT's during XDock? In some texts, SAP writes that the open WT's will get cancelled and cross docked but that is not happening.
Thanks for your inputs and help
    James

    Hi,
EWM can cancel an open pick WT. What it says in the docu is " If open pick warehouse tasks of this kind exist, EWM cancels these without violating the FIFO principle."
Well, in reality it is not that simple. First of all the open WTs must be RF relevant (you wrote you have a queue, but it must be an RF-queue (which I suppose you have)). The other thing is the question with FIFO. Now it does make sense that EWM does not cancel a WT if the already assigned quantity is older then the one you have in the GR zone. But what acutally happens is that the system checks the goods removal rule being used for the open WT. If this one uses the GR date or the SLE date, then the system does NOT cancel the WT. This is part of the standard BADI implementation you have to have to CD. And this is where you have to put in your own logic.

Circle and cross through iTunes icon: had the seagate hard drive replaced and restored data from time machine backup. Why does the iTunes icon have a circle and cross through it? As though incomplete? tried everything and still Circle and cross through iTunes icon.

No it isn't something you'd find on the computer, it has to be custom installed from the 10.6 installer disc or Software Update if it wasn't before.  It allows you to use older PowerPC applications on your Mac.   On the other hand double check the version of iTunes you have does not require 10.7 minimum either.

    Hi Amit,
if I understand correctly, you just need for a particular object a tooltip to be showed.
There is no such functionality hence you used the trick of using a hyperlink, which if clicked generates undesired behavior.
Hyperlinks don't allow themselves to be disabled, therefore if you are using that workaround you must cope with that.
I would suggest to create an Idea at [https://ideas.sap.com] for having in the properties of an object a tooltip, then post the link to the idea here and other users will vote if they like the idea.

  • Why is electricity flowing through my Macbook Air and into me?

When my MBA is plugged in (both with or without a surge protector), I can feel electricity flowing through the MBA into me, creating tingly feelings at my fingertips.  When someone touches me, they can actually FEEL the electrical charge across my skin.  I don't get this problem when running off battery.  Any ideas as to the problem?  Do I have a faulty electrical outlet or a faulty MBA?

Very common "Issue" with the computer. Becasue the machine is a Unibody design made from Aluminium it is very common for the electricity to somewhat flow through the body of the computer. you should'nt have any more than a light tingling. If there is any more than a tingle then it could be an issue. I would recommend using the prong with the grounding pin to ground the computer. My macbook pro used to have the same "issue" and a genius explained to em why it happens and how it isnt an issue.

  • I can't get my shuffle to play through all my playlists. Once I pick a playlist, it will play that one all  the way through and start over instead of playing the next one.

How do I get my shuffle to play all my playlists through their entirety?  I will select one and it will play all the way through and start over.  I want it to finish that one and move to the next playlist, and so on.

I think that's the way it's supposed to work.
You should just create another "merged" playlist that has ALL the songs from those playlists, with songs in the order you want them played, then use the play in order setting on the shuffle.
It won't take up any more space on the shuffle, because all of the songs will already be on the shuffle due to the separate playlists.

  • Cross Docking Pick TO cancellation

    Hi Experts
I am trying to Configure the Cross docking scenario
    I have configured the following
    1. Cross-dock Warehouse level customization in SPRO-LE-WM-Cross Docking-Maintain Warehouse level Settings
    2. Cross dock relevancy for movement types in SPRO-LE-WM-Cross Docking-Define Cross docking relevancy for movement types
    3. There is no Pre-allocated stock check for both movement types 101 and 601
    4. Stock placement and stock removal confirmation required for storage types 902 and 916.
    Transaction Steps:
    1.Outbound delivery, TO created
2.Inbound delivery created, GR done, while creating Putaway TO system is moving the stock from 902 storage type to 916 storage type
But the pick TO created against the Outbound delivery is not cancelled and the Outbound delivery is not updated with the Putaway TO.
Which step or config i am missing?
    Regards
    Venkat

Hi, you have two options to configure cross-docking. Take a look at these documents for detailed explanation.
    1) Planned Cross-Docking
    Planned Cross-Docking - Cross-Docking (LE-WM-DCK) - SAP Library
    2) Opportunistic Cross-Docking
    Opportunistic Cross-Docking - Cross-Docking (LE-WM-DCK) - SAP Library
I figure you are using opportunistic xDck based on your question.
Could you just go through all the steps on the document I linked?
Just go through all of the requirements, carefully inspecting if any
of those doesn't match the process.
First you have the settings required. Make sure they are OK.
Then check the process flow and your documents you are testing
    with.

  • Questions on Inter-company and Cross-company sales ordering process..

    Hi,
I understood the delivery plant and the sales org. is not in the same company code might be the process, but i want to know some details especially in SAP system how it is realized and processed, hope could kindly help me on below questions!! thanks!!
1)what is the difference between inter-company sales and Cross-company sales??
2)What is the general document flow and config. when in below 2 cases:
Suppose the 2 company code under same sap client system, then what kinds of company code, plant config within the system for inter-compan and cross-company, and finally what kind of document flow will it be in the system.
Suppose the 2 company code is under diff sap system, then what kind of doc flow in each sap system for inter-company and cross-company sales process???
    Thank you very much!!!!

    Hi,
Basically there are totally Three types of scenarios
    1. Intra Compnay Stock Transport Order
In this type of scenario, the stock is transfered between Two Plants which are under the same Compnay Code. The document type used here is UB. Here in this scenario the owner ship on the stock is not changed thats way there will not be any Invoice. The process as follows
    a. Create Purchase Order with document type UB - ME21N
    b. Create Replenishment Delivery with Document type NL - VL10B
    c. Picking and PGI - VL02N
Now stock will be shown in Transit, you can check this using T.Code MB5T.
    d. Do MIGO to receive the stock into ordering plant.
    2. Inter Compnay Stock Transport Order
This is called as Cross Compnay STO. Here the stock is sent from one plant to another plant which are in two different Compnay codes. That means the Ownership on the stock is changed in this scenario, that way there will be Intercompnay Invoice IV is reaised. Here the stock is just moved to one plant to another plant but not to any customer.
    The Process is as follows
    a. Create a PO using type NB - ME21N
    b. Create a Cross Compnay Replenishment delivery using type NLCC - VL10B
    c. Picking and PGI in VL02N
    d. Inter Compnay Invoice IV is raised by Supplying Compnay code to the Ordering Compnay Code - VF01
for this a customer created in Supplying Compnay who represents the Ordering Compnay and the invoice is raised against to that customer.
    e. MIGO to receive the stock in Ordering Plant
    f. MIRO to do invoice verification and do Vendor account update. This also can be done by EDI triggering, to update the Vendor Account. That means with this step, ordering compnay will update into its vendor account that he has to give certain amount to the compnay who supplied the stock.
    3. Inter Compnay Customer Sales
This is similer to the 2 process, but here instead of sending to Plant we will send the stock directly to Customer of other compnay code.
    The process is as follows
    a. Customer raises  normal sales order in another compnay code of type OR - VA01
    b. But if the plant of that compnay does not have stock, then in the order the plant is changed to other compnay code plant.
    c. Delivery is created in supplying Compnay against this Order - VL01
    d. Picking and PGI is done - VL02N
    e. But the stock is sent direclty to customer from supplying plant.
    f. Ordering compnay will raise normal invoice F2 to the customer
    g. Supplying Compnay will raise Intercompnay invoice IV to the Ordering Compnay.
But for all these process there are some configurations can be done, like
the material should be extended to both the plants
a customer is created in supplying plant who represents the ordering plant so that IV can be generated to that customer.
Supplying Plants should be linked to ordering Sales Org and Distribution channel. etc.
    Hope this is clear.
    Thanks
    Praveen

  • SAP Retail - Flow-through vs putaway quantities

    Hi!
My customer receives in his DC and ships same day 80% of his units, using a "flow-through merch driven" type process (for which we need a lean WM warehouse).  The other 20% goes in putaway stock (for which we need a full WM warehouse) for future replenisment.  We therefore need 2 storage locations to point on these 2 warehouses.  On the other hand, we do not want to create 2 PO line items per sku: we want to be able to easily post the stock in the proper storage location upon goods receipt.
Would anyone have faced this situation, and would have found a way to resolve it?
    Thanks.
    Sebastien

    Dear Sebastien,
It is important to understand that, although the term "split" is used here, an
individual item within a transfer order is not split into smaller items, regardless of
the quantity in that item. The items are not changed. Instead, the items within a
single transfer order are distributed (spread out) among two or more transfer orders.
In the Customizing application, you can define whether a transfer order split is to take place and select a mix of detailed criteria that affect the split. A customer exit is also available to define your own criteria for this task. For instructions on how to set up your system for the TO split, see
Activities -> Transfers -> Processing performance data / TO split -> Define profiles in the Warehouse Management IMG documentation.
The following transfer order split capabilities are available.
Split according to movement unit is viewed as a separate function that is processed independently from the other split criteria.
For each movement unit (SUT in an item) a split is planned. The TO contains an item with exactly one movement unit. The split is necessary when the actual data is recorded and plays a role in the calculation of the planned times. Based on the Customizing definition, you can switch off the split function and decide to use the standard process.
Sorting items in the transfer order.
The items in the TO are sequenced so that the document created for the TO lists the storage bins from which materials are to picked in an optimal sort order for processing. The routes are minimized and, consequently, the planned and actual processing times. An additional field in the storage bin defines a sequence for all bins in the warehouse. The customer maintains this field.
Transfer orders can also be split according to the following criteria:
    – Storage type/section
    – Planned transfer order processing time
    – Quantity of containers / weight / volume
    – Mix (combination of named criteria)
    Regards,
    Naveen.

    Hello,
    For Oppertunistic Cross dock..
You need to create either Putaway TO/Pick TO and then system checks the cross doc and cancel the TO and create a new TO from 902 to 916. and also updates in the document flow. This  you can do with out Cross dock monitor. With out planning the cross dock you can do the cross docking by following the config in help.sap.com.
for more information about the complete config you need to see the sap link below. sure it will help you.

  • Easy way to add members in hyperion reports that flow through levels

    All,
I am creating a new report that I want it to flow through the generations properly without setting up each member and the children of that member manually. I would like to see the following:
    Level 3 member
    level 2 member
    level 1
    level 2 member
    level 1
    and so on.
Right now I have to add the level 3, then on the next line level 2 and the next line children of level 2. I have tried ancestors, siblings and descendants and it is giving me what I am looking for. I am afraid of doing it manually I will have a lot of maintenance when new level 2 members are added.
If anyone has an idea on how it can be done easier i would really appreciate it.
    Thanks

Have you created parent child hierarchy or Value Hirerarchy.?. If we dont define it as value hierarchy any update on the Essbase side to this dimension will not reflect on OBIEE side . for these levels , refer to

Hope this helps. Pls mark if it does.
    Thanks,
