IS Retail - batch management with structured articles

I want to deal with the "display article" with batches and its components without it.
My idea is to track the batches at display level, thus in the moment of GR at store (OR manually post GR), split this display with mov type 319 converting it into the components. Later the POS will sell the components one by one without batch.
In the future I can track Display - Batch - Store with a report.
I can't split the display at wherever center with MIGO and mov 319. Customizing has been done for strucured articles focus in art category 12 (Display).
Help and thanks

Hi Heather,
assuming that the procuremnt is done by the DC only . you can resolve by activating batches only at the DC level . i:e Batches  are not activated at the store level..

  • Batch managment with classification

    Hi,
I have material with batch and classification. Material master have base unit KG, but I need second unit PC or M and other parameters of material. (coefficient between KG and PC is not constant).
I give to classification attributes fields: quantity, length. width, ...
In goods receipt I input batch with classification (quantity, length. width, ...)
Where can I see batch balance with classification ?
Is possible recalculate attribute of classification quantity after goods issue or how I can manage balance of quantity?
    thank
    beto

    Hi,
Once you fix the classification, i don't think you can recalculate the classification, what do you mean by batch balance?

  • Batch management with transactions

    Dear Gurus,
My user has a material which has last transaction in May-2014 and wants to activate the batch management.
I know the total stock and total value have to be removed by any means before activating the BM.
My question is: Whether my work-around will have any bad consequence that you can think of?
    My work-around:
As said, last trx is in May-2014. After that all stock/value are cleared.
    1. mmpv, change period to July-2014 (with some trick on escaping date check)
    2. activate the batch management
    3. mmrv - check "allow post to previous period (June-2014)
So that user can continue to post in June (no need to wait a full month)

    1. Yes. Its the most sensitive work for a MM consultant. The main caution is that, if you open a posting period, its not a easy job to re-open the previous period (You may have to contact SAP for that).
    2. Right. the period is not stored anywhere in table. Only posting date is stored in various table.
    3. See, SAP allows only 2 months for posting a Material document number.
Normally When you open a period from MMPV, then the current period will open.
Now if you missed some to post a document in previous month, then SAP has given the option, that you can only post on previous month.
    Now as per your requirement.
If you open the period July, then you can only post any document in July and previous month as June.
You will never can't able to post any document in month May.
As it is not 6th June, in meantime, if your organization want to post a document in May, then what can you do?
You can do nothing because you can reopen the month May. Forcefully you have top post the document in June month.
To avoid this, I have said take a proper document to open posting period in advance. It will be much better for you.

  • Batch Management with Moving Average Price

    Hi all,
I got a question here. If we use batch management in SAP with our price control as 'V' (MAP for Moving Average Price), and we do good issue out by batch, will the system credit my stock based on MAP value or the actual value (actual PO price by batch)

Any kind soul can helps me??

  • Batch Management with Split Valuation

    Hi
We have a scenario in which we have split valuation for a material and it is also batch managed. In the business process there is regrading step where the material from one valuation type (A) needs to be transferred to a different valuation type (say B). Before regrading each of these grades have different batch nos.
I tried to do a transfer posting (mvmt type - 309) and put the material (from Val type A to B). It asks for batches for both A and B.
We can give batch of A (the from material), but we want a new batch to be created for the "to" material.
How does one go about that?
    Deepak

    Deepak
I think that you will find that the batch managemenmt is either internal or external at either plant or material level and so if you are changing the valuation in the same plant I do not think that the system will allocate a batch number for you and that you will have to tell the system what the batch is.
    I hope that this helps

  • Batch management with Inventry management .

    Hi dear all,
At the time of GR against Purchase Order , i want to copy characteristic in batch from a table .pls help me to map this requirement .
    Regards
    Prerna

A batch determination does not populate characteristic values, it just uses characteristic values that are available in your batch record.
the valuation of the batch characteristic is usually done when you create the batch during a goods receipt.
You have to have the batch classification (class 022 or 023) in your material master, from there it is copied and valuated when you create a batch for this material.

  • VPRS with Free Goods and Batch Management

    Dear Experts,
I have a problem on the products billing with Free Goods.
I will explain this, before the implementation of Batch Management (with batch split) the billing document show the condition VPRS on the main item (TAN) and the free goods item (TANN).
Now, when the Batch Management was up, the condition VPRS disappeared on the TANN item, I checked the order and it does shows the VPRS conditions. When i check the conditions on the billing document it shows me the following message when i check the VPRS condition
Condition ignored (requirement 004 not fulfilled)
Then I tried to debug the price determination and i realized that only on the TANN position the field komp-evrwr (price determination on the item category) is not 'X'.
Aditionally i can mention thar the batch split item category is defined as YG05.
Actually i only managed to show the cumulated VPRS cost on the main item.
Please someone say to me if this correct or there is a way to put the VPRS on the free goods item.
    Javier Sandoval Vera
    Ecuador

    Hi Javier,
what do you do with the VPRS in your calculation- system ?
If you need i, you delete the requirement 004 in your calculation -system.
on the other hand, you can change TANN to komp-evrwr (price determination on the item category) is  'X'. Then you have to add an 100% rabate for TANN and the resukt will be free good.

  • Classification, Batch Management, Serialisation Profile along with QM

    Hi All GURUS,
I have very interesting scenario to work on. My client requirement is to identify produciton lot seperately and maintain production data seperately for each production lot. Also for some materials client requires to maintain unit/pc specific data like weight within each production lot. Apart from this they want to classify all SFG and FG on the basis of characteristics. And some of these classification characterstics gets its value from result recording of inspection characteristics of QM module.
What I consider as possible option is to use Batch Management + Serialisation + Classification functionality and to link Classification characteristics to Inspection Characteristics of QM.
But I dont know whether this is possible or not and how to do it. So, I request you all GURU to validate this and guide me in doing this, how to link master data and configuration part.
Help at your earliest convenience is solicited.
    Thanks and regards.

    Hi,
You can use batch management with serialisation. Also as mentioned by you need to connect insp char with batch chars.
I am not sure what you mean by lot here. But as you said it should be a batch. so you can trace all the production lots by batch. this means, you need to have a batch for each production order. after prodn this batch should go to quality. Have insp plan for GR from production Material master QM view insp type 04. may be you will also need insp type 03 ( inprocess insp) for FG or SFG.
Think these lines , then you will be able to cover all the aspects of the process. DO test each and every process & see whether requirements are getting fulfilled or not.
For any further query you can contact me.

  • Batch Management and Others

    Dear Experts,
Client system is already having some materials. From these 100 materials ,we would block the 99 materials and the rest material(say X) will be managed in batches. To do this I have thought in the following way:
1.Posting stock to the  the material X through material to material transfer.
2.Activate deletion flag to the 99 materials and change the deletion flag message type to Error message from the warning.
3.Blocking the transaction of these materials for two to three hours.
4.Create a new material and manage it with batch with classification.(say Y)
5.Material to material stock tranfer from X to Y.
6.Change the BOMs where these 99 materials were used.
7.Material assignment to routing operation does not require change as components were assigned to operation through default first operation, which will be managed by the system itself when I change the BOM.
Anything more I require to plan..Pl advice
    Regards
    Reshmi

    Dear Rupesh,
My req is I would like to remove the redundant materials, instead I shall manage these materials through a single material by batch management with classification.but the materials are already in the system without batch management. So until or unless i remove the stock ,the material can not be batch managed. And to remove all materials by a single materials I require the existing stocks of the materials to be updated with the single material, which can be done through material to material transfer.I think I have cleared the issue.

  • Item not relevant for billing - Batch Management

    Dear Experts,
I'm testing the Batch Management with the configuration detalied on the Building Block - J19 from SAP. So I've created a new item position called YG05 which is working for the batch spliting.
But now the problem is that when I'm billing with Tx VF04 or VF01 it gives me the following error and doesn't create the invoice.
VF 044 The item is not relevant for billing
Now, the problem fixes when I go to Tx VTFL and change the position TAN in the field Copying Requirements from 004 Delivery - Related Item to 003 Header / Dlv. - Related. I can do the billing, but when the system print the invoices it print for each position type, I mean this.
"Before the system printed 3 copies of the invoice, but now not only print the 3 copies, now it send printing the 3 copies and also 3 blank pages (i assume that those are por the YG05 position"
If anyone have and advice if the fix i did first is correct.... And also have a solution for this last problem. Please reply...
    Thanks

  • Unable to tick batch management

    Dear Expert,
I unable to tick batch management with error:"Consignment stocks already exist at the customer's."
However,current/previous stock is zero and no open document in MD04.
    How solve the error?
    Thank you

MSKU table holds the customer consignment stock.
    Is that really zero there?
stock  has to be zero  in current and previous period, as you can post to these 2 periods with MM in general.
If both periods are zero, then youhave no other chance than archiving the special stock using SARA - object MM_SPSTOCK.
    this requires customizing of archives.

  • How to Setup Batch Management Level (Material vs Client)

    Hi Experts,
I had a question about the level at which I should be setting up Batch Management. The requirements that we have are:
    - We want uniqueness in the batch being created.
    - We have split valuation active at the Batch Level.
Hence, we have nailed down to the following 2 options: 1. Client level or 2. Material level. (I know that I will not be using Plant level because we do a lot of STO's and we do not want to lose the characteristics in the Batch at the plant level. So the plant level is out of scope.)
Client Level: Although the client level gives us the uniqueness and supports most of our requirements, my fear with going at the client level is that it is too rigid and MAY cause problems in the future. Is that true? What would be issues/ concerns that you have faced when you have had Batch Management activated at the client level.
Material Level: If I setup the system at this level, I would like to be able to create a Batch number for a material across the entire client only once. E.g. MAT1 can have BATCH 123 only once across the whole client. MAT 2 can have BATCH 123 but the Material# and the Batch # uniqueness should be maintained thoroughly.
I would like to try out this level but my problem is I am unable to understand and setup this level completely. I have gone through some pretty good discussion on this topic but still am unable to understand it thoroughly. The link to this discussion is (http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=80407). If you refer to this link, it says u2013 Client/ Material Level. What does client/material level mean? Can you please help me understand it. Also, if I setup Batch management at this level, I would like the system to auto-generate numbers for me exactly as I have mentioned above. Is there a way to do so? I was trying to setup the BATCH_MAT number range object with the batch level at Material level but the system seems to always default to the BATCH_CLT level and give us numbers. Is there a way to fix the system to check the BATCH_MAT number range object and give the batch numbering per my requirements. What happens if I use the Material Level Batch management with BATCH_CLT number range object?
    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Check following customizing:
Logistics General --> Batch Management --> Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management
If you want to change the batch level, you have to start conversion to activate the change.
Note that you cannot reset conversion from plant level to a higher level, read the documentation for customizing of
"Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management".
If you want to work with same batches for different materials, you should use "Batch unique at material level".
Logistics General --> Batch Management --> Batch Number Assignment
Here you can define how the system should create batch numbers.
    Best Regards, Dirk

  • Varient configuration & batch management

    Dear all,
How varient configuration is related with MM,Which are the related T-codes for it .How it is configured.
What is difference between material maintainance through varient configuration & Batch management.
Is it possible to maintain material by above options.
    Regards,
    Nitin Patil.

    hi
Varient configuration & batch management  are have diffrent use
Varient configuration  is use for the material with diffrent properties  like CARS
material is same but only due to the color the selling price will differ
likewise to keep single material with diff charecteristics  Varient configuration will be used

  • Batch Management & Reporting

    HI ALL Experts,
    USING SAP 2007 B PL17
I am maintaing Inventory by batch management with every transaction.
Opening balance of the item is 7 nos with XYZ batch
Transfered to another location 7 Nos with same batch XYZ
Made A/R INvoice + Payment from that location with same batch XYZ
Did inventory transfer from X location to Y location 1 Nos with same batch XYZ
which is not possible but batch report and inventory audit reports showing the quantity balance minus 1
Can anybody tell me what are the cause for the same
    Thanks
    Ashish Gupte

    Hi rahul/ Prasanna
    Please do following activity
Create item with managment method Batch method / Every Transaction.
item having opening balance with 10 Nos with certain batch eg XYZ.
inventory transfer to another warehouse with quantity 10 Nos. (system will ask you which batch) select the batch and add the document.
From that warehouse make a A/R Invoice + Payment with same batch quantity is 10 nos.
Now stock must be zero of that perticular item
Now make one mmore document inventory Transfer with 1 quantity. the system should ask from which batch ( now in my scenario zero stock) how system can accept this last entry and showing in batch report in negative and in audit report also in negetive.
I hope i had cleared my points in detail
No matter whether you block the negative inventory or not.
