Is 'rolling back' possible?

Would like to do an OS roll back to 3.1.2. Is it actually possible and if so how? I have no backups prior to 3.1.3 so can't do a system restore.

Having a problem ever since I updated with 3.1.3. I posted to another thread this morning, but the short of it is that ever since the update, my ipod won't rotate the screen when trying to go to landscape mode. For youtube it will work fine, but if I'm using Safari and rotate the ipod, it won't work, nor will it work for any applications that require tilting or turning. Also been having a LOT of freezing up and crashing which can only be resolved with a reboot. I tried a system restore but that didn't work. I've only found one other person who's having this same issue, and can't seem to find any answers anywhere. I thought if I could try to downgrade to the previous OS and see if that fixes it, then I'd know it's not my ipod itself, but the software acting up.

  • Is it possible to "roll back" to version 8?

I'm having such problems with version 9 that I would "roll back" to version 8 in a heartbeat if I knew how... I have an iPhone and iTunes on a PC.
IS this possible? Any instructions on what I'd need to do?

I did find this post, but I haven't tried it yet myself. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2157090&tstart=60

  • Is there any possible way to roll back version 5 of Firefox? cause v6 kinda slows my system, and sometimes ends up freezing.

Don't ask anymore questions about my add-ons, or whatever stuffs. I just want to know how can I roll back to the older version, PEROD.

Unfortunately your suggestions didn't help me, although I really do appreciate your efforts. Finally I found a solution myself, thanks to the internet: it appears to be a problem, caused by Adobe's Flash Player The solution is described in this video, including the corresponding links to download a new flash player. It works fine for me: I installed it last saturday and not any strange behaviour so far: my G5 PowerPC quad with OSX 10.5.8 yet can view all kinds of videos and websites 'like in the earlier days' and so far no annoying pop ups ;-)

  • Is it possible to permanently roll back a video driver?

I was experienceing sever performance issue, and thanks to advice I found on this forum I solved the problem by rolling back my video driver. For reasons I cannot explain, the driver seems to upgrade through no action on my part. Can this be prevented?

    >non-Windows drivers routinely updated
I can't speak to "all" drivers, but I do know that my nVidia GTX285 stopped working properly when WinUpdate included driver 306.97 as a "critical" update, even though I had the nVidia control panel set to NOT search for updates
I had to manually remove 306.97 and reinstall 296.10 to get my GTX285 to work properly again... and then told WinUpdate to hide the 306.97 update... I think I also had to switch WinUpdate from automatic mode to "tell me" mode to be able to select and hide the 306.97 update
I have NO idea why WinUpdate selected the 306.97 driver as critical and necessary for an automatic update
Also, to see your actual driver number, not just a date...
Right click anywhere on your desktop
Select nVidia Control Panel in the popup window
Click the information link in the bottom left of the new popup window
Also select the option to never check for updates

  • My Ipod Classic (160G) no longer synchs completely with iTunes (93G).  Have reset and restored to no avail.  AM about to try roll back to a previous version of iTunes, which has been on auto update.

My iPod Classic (160G) used to sync flawlessly with iTunes (93G).
Recently, there seem to be fewer folders syncing.  In particular, it is not syncing more recent adds.  It also occassionally refuses to sync at least one mp3 downloaded from  Amazon.com, giving an unable to sync message with an error code or 50.
I'm running iTunes version 10.7, and the software (2.04) on myiPod is current.
I only use the iPod for music.  I have only one playlist.
Reset and restore did not fix the problem; I'm considering rolling back to a previous version of iTunes.  Are there any other  ideas to consider?
    Please advise.

See this older thread for some possible solutions.

iTunes and its sync process with your iPod have been know to choke once the amount of data that needs to be transferred, replaced, or updated, reaches a certain size limit in GBs.

  • Rolling Back Closed Period

    Folks,
I'm trying to post the GR thru MIGO for the scheduling agreements and I'm getting this error:
"Posting only possible in periods 2009/04 and 2009/03 in company code____"
I'm trying to post in the current month " Jan 2009".
I checked OMSY and current period is 042009.
I know we can close the periods thru MMPV/MMPI but in this case these periods are already closed and current open period is only two months after (042009).
Is there any way we can roll back to the closes periods and posting can be done in the existing period??
We are in our dev environment but any heads up of this would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for your help in advance,
    Cheers,
    Dhaval

    Hey there,
Thanks for the heads up. However I think that MMRV will only allow posting in the previous closed period which in this case would be 032009.
But I'm not sure if this will help me if I would want to post in 012009 or 022009.
I'd appreciate if you could shed some more light on this.
    cheers.

  • How Can I Roll Back my iTunes Library?

I'm guessing it may no tbe possible at all, but here goes.
What I would like to do with my music estate is roll back my current iTunes library file, automatically updated to iTunes 11 when updated on MPBr when this was my only PC using iTunes. Now I have three and some iOS devices too. My library has been moved from windows machines to macs and is several years old and has received 100s of hours of tweaking to get it just right.
Now my server is a PowerPC mac and I can only go as far as iTunes 10.6.xx, I want this to be always on and share the library with other PCs accross home sharing (i will sync iPhones over the wi-fi with this PC too, though it may not play with iOS7, so perhaps not).
I want to see the iTunes library on the macbooks, probably through Home Sharing, I also want to be able to sync the iphones, but only have a single copy of the music files on the server. is this possible? This will just be for when out of the house as I can also use home sharing in the house for music.
    Thanks

You say you want to do this with multiple devices.  Let's say you have a new iPhone 5 that requires iTunes 11. You will not be able to sync that if your base iTunes is iTunes 10.6 since your hardware will require at least whatever version of iTunes was current at the time of purchase.  You're seeing this with your iOS7 phone.  Anyway, unless all your hardware is old enough to use the lowest version of iTunes you need to run, you may be out of luck.  You cannot share the library.  Sharing media is different, and relatively easy, but it will be complex to ensure all the multiple libraries are kept up to date.
You also can't roll back iTunes libraries to earlier versions unless you kept a backup of your library from the point to which you wish to revert, or it is still in the previous libraries folder.

  • Acrobat Pro 10 will not install keeps rolling back

I am attempting to install Adobe Acrobat X on a Windows 7 64 Bit machine, it will not install, gets all the way to the end and then just starts rolling back says the installation was interrupted and that no changes were made to the system.
I ran the msi from the command line with verbose logging on to see if I could figure out where it fails but couldn't find the error (towards the end it lists many errors but it seems to just be a list of possible errors, not sure but I definately have admin right and ran the msi as an admin so at least those two don't make sense).
I don't understand why its not installing but I'm really ticked its not at least telling me why its not installing. I had adobe reader and flash on the computer and I was afraid they might be newer versions than just straight Pro X so I uninstalled everything adobe on the computer and it still won't install the Pro X.
Can someone take a look at my log file and see if they can tell what I'm doing wrong? It would be very appreciated.
    Thanks, SW.

  • Send Idoc to SAP in sequence and roll back if the last one fails

    Hi All
I have a scenario like this.
    System Ajore --> XI - > R/3
    Ajore is a manufacturing system
Send material from Ajore to SAP through XI and create MATMAS idoc in SAP
Send change number from the Ajore to SAP through XI and create ECMMAS idoc in SAP
Send Bill of materials from the Ajore to SAP through XI and create BOMMAT idoc in SAP
All these will should be send in the sequence MATMAS, ECMMAS, BOMMAT to SAP. How can I achieve the sequence operation through XI?
Second challenge is when I send the BOMMAT to SAP and if it fails, then all the processed MATMAS, ECMMAS sent to SAP should be rolled back.
Is it possible to achieve using XI?
The reqmt is very urgent. Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ricky

    Hi Satish,
Thanks for the reply. Do I need to do event driven message processsing in XI for this? The other way is to schedule the RBDAPP01 in R/3 to post idocs in sequence based on the message type and Partner number
    Does this makes sense?
And any idea bout the second question for roll back?
    Thanks

  • Can we roll back an activity that has already been checked-in?

    Hi Friends,
I have created an activity, performed a few alterations and checked-in the activity.
Now i want to revert this activity so that i can cancel all my operations performed under this activity.
So is it possible to roll back an activity that has already been checked-in?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks and regards,
    Chandrashekar.

    Hi,
As such you cant rollback an activated activity , what you can do is check out the source prior to that activity and then create a new activity and check in the source. Once this is done your previous code will be overridden.

  • BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE - a rolling back errors question

I  need to use this BAPI to create an invoice and a credit memo against the same purchase order in one 'hit'.  If the second call to the BAPI fails, I  want to rollback both sets of changes.  IIt's been fixed in my mind for a while now that this is not  possible.; that if you call  this BAPI  you have to complete the process by committing or rolling back  the changes before calling it  a second time.  However, I've done a bit of testing and doing the commit / rollback after the second call seems to be working fine.
Has anyone else done this sort of thing successfully in Production?   I don't  want  to tell them  that it is possible and make them really happy and  then find out that I was wrong.

I have a similar scenario with BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST, where two or even four postings need to be made successfully or none at all. The rollback is actually a very rare case in production, but it was tested quite a bit beforehand with forced errors and always worked as desired.
As you know, it works only as long as the BAPI does not have a commit work inside (they should not if programmed properly).

  • Container transaction NOT rolled back after a long period of time.

Hi, I am using Weblogic 6.1SP5 on RedHat 7.1 and I have seen an unexpected
behaviour with an MDB and I would like to know if there is any circumstance
in which a transaction is not rolled back automatically by the container
after the transaction timeout specified on MDB descriptor expired.
The fact is I have seen a thread locked for 3 entire days without any
exception being raised (the trans timeout was set to 900 seconds for
              debugging porpouses)
Sadly I didn't thought on issuing a ps -ax and a netstat -np in order to see
if there was any connection active for any of the JVM threads.
As an aside note I had to throw a kill -9 to Weblogic's JVM in order to
completely stop it because using the standard "stopWeblogic.sh" script it
              got stalled.
The only unusual thing that I can think of the MDB is doing is opening a
connection against a remote system via a socket.
My question is. Is it possible that a thread locked on I/O (in this case a
socket) to be out of control in terms of throwing at it a "Transaction
              rolled back exception"?
I have modified my code in order to set SO_TIMEOUT on the socket just in
case the other peer hangs and never returns control. But I would like to
know the problem could be there.
I know for sure that at the time the thread stalled the other peer died
(exceptions on other MDBs trying to connect to remote system) but I expected
a "socket exception" to be thrown by the O.S. to the stalled thread instead
of having the thread waiting forever on that "open" socket.
              Thanks in advance.
              Ignacio.

While a tramsaction may be rolled back at the transaction timeout,
the thread is not stopped. The actual exception won't occur until
the MDB completes. If the MDB doesn't complete (as in this case),
              you won't get the exception.

  • BDC-Roll back

Can we rollback the changes in database by BDC call transaction (sychronous) method (using rollback statement)?
    Misha

    Hi Misha,
it is not possible in bdc but you can have one more option in indirectly
keep one check box in selection-screen,like test mode
when you click test mode then do not use save ok_code ( It works like Roll back )
if you use call transaction ,then if you use update mode is Synchronous ,it works like committ work.
