Is Safari blocking my internet connection?

Hi.
I just bought a new iMac a week ago. I also bought an aircard for my internet connection.
I also installed OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1
The aircard is from truemove Thailand. HUAWEI mobile.
The problem is that it seems like something/Safari is blocking my internet connection.
On the network preferences window  it says the aircard is connected to the internet.
And it's connected also on the aircards connection browser.
I can also see the statistics on the aircard browser. I can see the download speed, which starts around 70kb and then start to drop to zero.
So there is some activity but it won't even download one page. The aircard has a 42MB connection speed.
Im using Safari version 8.0.2
The thing is that i have a Wi-Fi connection and that works fine.
I also have my old macbook pro from 2011 and on that computer it works perfectly. I did though install the aircard to my macbook first. But i don't know if that is the issue.
I have tried to find the answer to my problem but can't find it anywhere.

Hi.. My internet and wifi are working on samsung phone and hp laptop but its not getting connected to iphone ipad, only skype is coming online rest all apps and safari show no internet connection. Got new linksys router WRT160NL , but situation same. Tried reboot, renew lease, forget network, reset network setting. Pls advice

Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

  • Safari cuts off Internet connections

I'm looking for help. My Safari cuts my Internet connections when it tries to load cnn.com and a few other pages. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

That floating footer section isn't unimportant. It's part of a whole new <html> and <body> section (complete with <head> and <meta> tags) that somehow got dropped in right before your closing body tag:
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <title>Footer Code (How'd You Get Here?)</title>

    </body>
    </html>
The wrapping html and body tags in that section of code must be removed as well as the head and meta tags included there. They will cause problems no matter what is going on with the rest of the page. A web page only has one html element and one body element.
This doesn't seem to be the cause of the phantom Portfolio section, though. This section doesn't appear for me, either. (Reducing font size using Safari a few sizes makes it appear. Perhaps that's related to japamac's ability to see that section...?)
I'm looking over the rest of the HTML and CSS and haven't found the problem yet. I'll poke at it a little more this morning.
There are some validation errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.derekmiller.us%2Findex.shtml
You might want to go through those as well to clean things up. (Some are caused by that stray section of code.) At the very least, getting rid of validation errors can make it easier to get to the root of the problem when troubleshooting something like this.

  • I cannot connect to itunes store or safari but my internet connection is working, why is this?

My internet connection is working, however, I cannot connect to itunes store, safari or updates on my MacBook when connected to my home wi fi. I can do so if I connect to another wi fi account, e.g. at work.  Also I can connect to safari and itunes store using my home wi fi if I use my ipad or iphone.  I have tried to re-authorize the Mac Book in case that is the issue but I cannot beacuse safari and itunes store not working.  My internet provider say they do not know what the problem is.

    Hello pp585,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
    Troubleshoot issues on a Mac
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • Network Diagnostics gives me all green, but Safari says no Internet connection

Whenever I awake my computer from sleep, it takes about a full minute or more (haven't timed it yet) before it will recognize my Internet connection. As soon as I open it, it automatically connects to my home network, but if I try to use the Internet in any way, I can't. Safari tells me I have no Internet connection. When I open Network Diagnostics as it suggests, I have all green lights. I can go all the way through Network Diagnostics, finish still with all green lights, and Safari still says no Internet connection. If I give it about a minute, I can reload the page, and everything will be fine…until I close the lid.
Any ideas? This is driving me crazy.
    Other potentially helpful information:
I was away for the summer. Before I left, I did not have this problem. While I was away, I upgraded to Lion, but I didn't have this problem on any networks before or after the upgrade until I came back home. As far as I can tell, none of the other notebooks here (all Macs) have this problem. Weird, right? They are all running Snow Leopard or Leopard, though, come to think of it. So perhaps it is a combination of the network and Lion?

I've had that problem before, but when that was the problem, the computer was still trying to connect to the network and I didn't have green lights from Network Diagnostics. In this case, my computer connects instantly, I get all green lights from ND, and I still can't use the Internet for about two minutes. Everything looks fine in the network settings, green light on Wi-Fi, gives me an IP address, etc.
Is there another program besides Network Diagnostics that could tell me exactly where I'm not getting through?

  • Block Broadband Internet Connections through NAC

I have NAC deplyed in OOB VGW and have version 4.8. Due to restricted internet policy, people are using internet through  broadband devices. Is that
possible if NAC can block these broadband connections.

    Talha,
NAC agent can only posture-assess, and help with remediation, if needed. It can't enforce any policies, so if your clients for example use an air-card or connect through the internet through some other mechanism, the agent won't be helpful there.

  • Safari Killing My Internet Connection?

    Ok, here is the background:
I usually run 2 internet browsers...Opera 9.26 is my primary browser, and I've been using Safari for items that Opera cannot correctly or sufficiently provide (usually Gmail, Facebook, CNN, and 1 or 2 other sites) I also run iChat and Colloquy as other internet-use apps.
For the past 1-2 weeks, Safari, I believe, has intermittently killed my internet connection. Usually it will be loading a local newspaper website or acting strangely on Facebook...then it will start to be very slow, the rainbow sphere will appear, and my internet will die...as in, nothing on Opera works, iChat disconnects, etc.
Today was exceptionally bad as it kept happening every few seconds. I had to switch to Camino for Gmail, Facebook, and CNN...and this resolved the problem.
Any idea at all? Is this happening to anyone else?

    Hi
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
DNS server codes seem to remedy the page loading lag. Follow these steps:
Go to the System Preferences>Network panel
    - Location - set up a personal location by clicking on the location drop down menu and selecting "add a location". Use a name familiar to you. Once established, select "apply".
    - Next, click on the "Show" drop down menu and select Network Port Configurations. Depending on whether you use Ethernet or Airport (wireless) for your setup: Only Ethernet or Airport ought to be checked. Move it to the top of the list (you can drag it). Select "apply". Everything else ought to be unchecked unless you use a Bluetooth device.
    - Back to the "Show" menu, select either "Ethernet" or "Airport" (whichever applies to you). Click on the TCP panel. There, on separate lines in the DNS servers box enter Verizon's public DNS server codes: 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2.
    Select "apply".
    Restart Safari or Camino.

  • Wi-fi booster blocks my internet connection

I recently bought a wi-fi booster to improve the signal to our iPads and internet radio in parts of the house which works quite well.
Now when the booster is switched on I regularly lose the internet connection to my iMac and get this error message:
I have no experience of changing IP addresses and am worried that I could lose the internet connection completely or the functionality of the booster.
    Any guidance please?

Contact the router or booster manufacturer, they will need to show you how change the device's IP address.

  • Touch says I have Wifi connection, but Safari says no internet connection

My wifi had been working fine on my iPod Touch, but it all of a sudden stopped connecting to the internet 2 nights ago. I still have wifi internet connection on my laptop though...so it much be an ipod issue. I reset my modem/router and my network connection on my ipod...why isn't my ipod connecting to the wifi internet anymore? :[

Did you reset your network connections using Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Connections?
Did you try to log back into your network using Settings > WiFi > Other Networks and re-entering your network name, security settings, and password?
Have you tried a general reset of your iPod?

  • S/W update 2.2.1 - safari says no internet connection.

After I updated to 2.2.1 safari keeps saying it isn't connected to the Internet. Even when I have full 3g signal. To solve the issue I have to turn off the phone. Any one have any ideas.

My mac told me there was an error (9) when it did the update but the firmware shows as 2.2.1 and it's working fine. It would not connect to the existing safari page but did when i reloaded it.
    Any idea about error (9)??
Try the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the Mac using the cable that came with it.
If the issue persists, create a thread with detailed information about your Macs configuration and. By creating another thread each issue will get the attention it deserves.

  • Safari killed my internet connection

Hello everyone! I have an eMac. I’m running OS v 10. Yesterday I upgraded Safari to the latest version, rebooted and lost my connection. I’m now writing this on my PC (yuck!). The only suggestion I could find on the discussion board was to reinstall my OS. I have checked my airport tap and it can see the connection but only when I manually choose my network. It does not automatically connect. I get the same messages when using safari or IE, “safari (ie) con’t find the server”. I’m not able get out with any application including Yahoo, messenger etc, etc. I thought I would re-enter my encryption key to make sure it was not that and it (aport window) locked up.
    Please help, Thanks in advance.

    Hi Stephen,
    b Welcome to Apple Discussions
While you wait for one of the real pros who assist folks, like me, here, this won't hurt.
Repair permissions via Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.app
Some say going to apple and using the combo updater is superior to just software update. (?)

  • Mail app blocks my internet connection

    Hi everybody!
I've got this strange problem. When my default Mail app is opened and I'm trying to read my e-mails, suddenly the whole connection is ruined. I can't browse any pages in Safari, neither in Firefox. However Skype is working. When I force quit Maill app everything backs to normality in about a minute.
What's the issue? Could you help me? I would be thankful, because it's a very frustrating issue...
    EDIT: Sparrow did that too...

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Safari keeps losing Internet connection.

MBPr, 10.8.2, all other devices on the wifi network run fine, other software on MBP are actively connected to the net and wifi connection still showing as connected..it is just safari.
Reconnecting to network shows no love, have to restart computer to get working safari for less than ten minutes then same problem comes back.
Any help or similar problems appreciated.
Oh this has only started since I upgraded to 10.8.2....

I just tried resetting safari, this allowed me to successfully load one page, and then it went back to being unable to load again..
