Is SAP BI better than SAP BODS?

Is SAP BI better than SAP BODS?

Both are good modules.
BI have modelling, extraction, reporting as a process whereas BODS is a media to send data from SAP to third parties with its modelling.
We can send data from BI to other parties using BODS.
So no comparison between data association (BI) and transferring that data (BODS).
I can say BODS is easy to learn whereas BI has much scope for future.

  • SAP SRM Contracts Vs SAP CLM Contract

    Hi SAP Gurus,
Can you guys please tell me the difference between SAP SRM Contracts and SAP CLM Contracts.
In which factors SAP CLM serves better than SAP SRM??
Why SAP CLM came into existence when we have SRM Contracts? What are the draw back and what is not achieved with SRM Contracts?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello Sanjay
There are many differences, SAP CLM Contract run in Sourcing and SAP SRM Contracts run in SRM.
    Advantages CLM Contracts:
    - Establish a contract as a result of a project
    - build the draft agreement from a template
    -   - Create your own folder structure to organize your contract attachments
        - Transfer quickly attachments between the different folders
    -   - Download easily multiple attachments with a single click
    - Administrator can create new customer fields (extensions) and customer tables (extension collections) for all      master agreements or specific master agreements
         - New customer fields are immediately available in the UI and as a search parameters
          - All is done via configuration, therefore no upgrade issues
         - Generation of contract document out of master agreement
         - Template Library with approved legal contract templates for quick contract generation
         -  Possibility to provide end user with flexibility to modify the provided content from the template during contract creation
          - Adjust contract by adding or removing of clauses and sections to the content provided by the selected contract template
          - Multiple content options (alternative clause content) available to provide end user with controlled flexibility
          - Automated transfer of master agreement meta data into generated contact document
          - Creation and transfer of line item table into contract document
    -     - Creation of a unique barcode on the contract header
          - Contract negotiation with clause changes in MS Word are tracked in the contract repository
          - Change of meta data like Agreement Effective Date in MS Word possible and transfer back to master agreement in repository
          - etc
The are the possibility to integrate CLM contract to SRM Contracts

  • How different SAP Simple finance from SAP FI

    Hi SAP Experts,
can you pls comment on my below doubt,
Hi, Is SAP FI and SAP simple finance both are same. Can you pls help out the difference because i am planning to take up SAP FI training. If you think that SAP simple finance would be better than SAP FI based out of change in technology..I shall take SAP Simply finance.
Also do let me know that is SAP simple finance can be used as extension to SAP FI.
Many thanks for your suggestion inputs in shaping my career !
    Regards
    Bharath Kumar

You need to dig into the data on help portal for Simple Finance or Smart Finance as it is called. HANA road map shows that HANA 2.0 (which is next version) will have entire Business Suite (ECC, SRM, CRM, APO etc., )  and BW will be sitting on single plat form of HANA.  What that means is less infrastructure for BASIS to support.  For functional consultants the world will change as below:
    1) As explained by Berker lots of totals tables will be replaced by SAP HANA views.
    2) SAP HANA modeling will allow you to create reports on the fly and access them through Analysis for Excel tool.
    3) All overnight batch jobs will be a thing of the past as SLT (System Landscape Transformation) will allow you to sync real time data from non sap systems.
    4) Smart Finance also got a feature called Central Journal which will bring the non sap data and transform it into FI document and post.  This will be a high value tool addition.
    5) Core functionality will remain same, however, consultants have to smart on shortening the month end close cycle, using the power of HANA system.  You may see that the companies can reduce their close cycles as close as 1 to 2 days, with HANA.
    Thanks

  • Why SAP ERP is Better than ORACLE ERP?????

Hi expert I need some help about the comparison study between SAP and Oracle.
One of our WOOD plantation Client have some confusion between two ERP packages.Oracle have approached them . So how can we convince them to do SAP ERP. If you have some ppt or any material please send it to me . Its urgent.
Another thing that how SAP FI is better than Oracle FI for any Wood Plantation Company.
If you gyes have any win story over Wood Plantation company then please give it to me.
Thnaks Experts for your kind Considuration

    Dear Pratik,
You can find the points for your presentation from the link:
    http://searchoracle.techtarget.com/generic/0,295582,sid41_gci1173173,00.html#
Well, you need to convince your client that ERP is not all about cost of implementation. There are many other areas that you need to look at - availabilty of trained staff - complexity of business processes - does your existing data/processes map into one better than the other - are you happy going Oracle Oracle or would you prefer SAP with some other database.
You can add that the majority of transactions in vanilla Oracle are more difficult than in SAP. SAP can be configured to support most of the business processes without coding.
Let me know in case of any specific queries.
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Dear All,
Can you please help me regarding the following issues
    1) My customer wants us to integrate a help other than SAP help or a help using RWD infopak. Is it possible?
    2) We are planning to develop the help in a HTML format or something similar to it. Can anyone tell is it possible from a field in transaction to call a URL whre the help for that field will be displayed.
    3) Any suggestions on how to develop the help and integrate??
    Expecting a reply soon
    Regards,
    Sujith

you can place (install) the help files on any machine you want, at least it has a web server on it.
you can then specify the "Server Name" and "Path" in SR13 to this server (e.g. Server Name = mywebserver.mycompany.com:1080, Path = helpdata)
the clients open the associated program to the extension of the files (in case of .chm and .html it would be most likely the Internet Explorer)

  • SAP Kernel older than Visual Admin

    Hello All,

    1. SAP ECC with EhP4 with kernel release 701
    2. SAP PI with kernel release 710

When we try to access the Visual administrator to Setting Up the SLD Data Supplier (J2EE) for PI (only one VA exist in /usr/sap/DEV/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/admin for system SAP ECC, PI doesn't have VA) the system display a message:
Warning: J2EE Engine Kernel is older than the version of Visual Administrator.
How we can access the VA to configuring the SLD Data supplier for PI system or exist other way to configure the SLD Data Supplier for SAP PI J2EE?

Have you run the "Configuration Wizard" as part of the post install ?. If not I will recommend it, most of the destinations, Jco's will be created by running the wizard.
These are two good doc's to start:

  • Which is better  option SAP XI vs webservices to interact with Biztalk

    HI everyone,
We have biztalk as integration tool. I would like to know is it feasible to implement Biztalk with SAP XI to communicate with our SAP ECC server. I heard it will be over weight to use both Biztalk and SAP XI coz each will have its own message box and leads to more process time. So we are planning to use Biztalk with SAP webservices. So please let me know which is better as cost wise and work wise biztalk with SAP XI or Biztalk with SAP Web services.
SAP Guys please take some time to provide some useful information. it will be much appreciated.
    cheers
    ram

SAP XI and BizTalk both offer a tight integration of Web Services into the engine and development tools. Using the SAP XI SOAP Adapter enables the consumption and publication of Web Services based on the SOAP 1.1 protocol according to the WS-Basic Profile 1.0.
The BizTalk SOAP Adapter also offers Web Services support based on SOAP 1.1
support and Basic Profile 1.0 capabilities.
Anyway XI and Biztalk can interoperate, you should evaluate the scenario you are going to implement.
Based on transactionality, trhroughtput, communication etc, the following scenarios are in focus:
    Synchronous and non-transactional communication
    Synchronous and transactional communication
    Asynchronous and non-transactional communication
    Asynchronous and transactional communication
This leads to eight scenarios overall, as both hubs may act as the initiating starting point of the communication. The choice of communication types for a certain integration process depends on business needs, technical needs and performance considerations.
if it may be useful rewards point are appreciated

    HI
SAP Business One works well with companies who have been using
QuickBooks and Peachtree with few users and would like to take the next
step. There are add-ons that could take SAP B1 to a higher level but the
problem then is the financials in SAP B1 since they are extremely light.

  • Beta OIM SAP connector

I heard there is a beta available for a OIM connector for SAP, I was wondering if there is any documentation available on this new connectors functionality

A Java class is trying to add users using SAP EP 6.0 libraries on SAP 7.0 EP.
We set the security parameters in sapum.properties files as follows
    login.ticket_keystore=ticketKeyStore
    login.ticket_keyalias=SAPLogonTicketKeypair
    login.ticket_lifetime=8
After executing method from class file, we are getting the following problems.
com.sap.security.api.UMRuntimeException: SAP logon ticket functionality cannot be initialized
because of an internal error while reading own key and certificate from the keystore.
Alias of own key/certificate in the keystore: 'SAPLogonTicketKeypair'
We have tried to import certificate with following command, but still we were getting the same error:
keytool -import -alias SAPLogonTicketKeypair -file verify.der -keystore D:\EP\jars\keystore
So we tried with another option:
keytool -import -alias SAPLogonTicketKeypair -file verify.der -keystore D:\EP\jars\SAPLogonTicketKeypair
And still we are facing same problems. Can anybody tell, what exactly is going wrong?
