  • Object Link to CRM business object in Trex search result list

    Hello Everyone,
has anybody sucessfully configured the functionality "Object Link Properties" which is described in the Document <a href="http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000647974&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700005796662005E">Configuring the Business Package for SAP CRM 5.0 SP01 (EN)</a> on Page 169? I'm not the Knowledge Management specialist and would get some help on this topic. Has anybody detailed steps how to configure this?
It shounds interresting as the result would be that when the User does a full text search for Attached Documents he will also get a link to the original CRM business object like Activity, Account or Opportunity.
    Regards
    Gregor

    Hi Gregor,
    Thanks for your reply.
using windows explorer mechanism i can see the folders that i created in the CRM config.
Now in Portals KM i did the following steps:
    a) Created an HTTP Data Source : with URL = the URL that the service crm_prt_km_dav generates.
    http://abrusux156h.pch.chem.corp.local:8086/sap/crm/crm_prt_km_dav
    b)Created a memory cache
c)Created a WebDAV respository manager with the following details:
    Description :WebDAV
Prefix : /PRD  (PRD is the BO Hierarchy name that i have set in the CRM config)
System ID : T86 (Sames as what was set in HTTP Data Source)
    Repository Service : svc_acl
    ACL Manager cache : ca_cm
    Security manager : ACLSecurityManager
Memory Cache :webDAV(same as what i had set in step b)
I restarted the portal server. and then tried doing the test by going to
    Content Admin ->KM Content ->root
But i dont see the /PRD folder out there.
    Any clues on that???
    Thanks,
    Anand

    Hi Naeem,
Generally we are using SAP BOBI as  best BI adhoc, canned  Webi report  and customizing Dashboard , Crystal report preparation in  Complex Billing report by using Web intelligence , Crystal report  and Digital dashboard  is best for KPI analysis , predictive analysis for Project , Management also .
Their  flows are very simple by using specific SAP recommended Specific tool for any MIS , BSCS billing BI reports preparation that we are following in specific domain based Project.
BAPI reporting is part of ABAP reporting , that you can  flow in Mr Rob statement .

  • Insert or Update data in SAP with Business Objects?

    Hi all,
I am new to Business Objects world with my little expertise in Crystal Reports and Xclesius.
Could you please clarify me that is there any solution or technology or Product of Business Objects which not only make impressive dashboards and analyze the data but also can communicate with back end SAP R/3 to save or update data.
We are actually analyzing our Client requirements in which there is a need of Dashboards as well as some custom configurations that needs to be saved somewhere in the SAP system in order to make decisions in future.
Our back end system is SAP BW. One possibility is to use Adobe Flex as a base architecture with BSP and BW but we are more concerned with what BOBJ provides.
    Looking forward for your suggestions.

Can someone please help me with this?  When I drop-down on Business Object in LSMW Attributes, this object does not show on the list, however I noticed that Bus. • SAP TM / Business object creation

    Hi,
this my first posting, so please excuse that I am still searching for the right place to put my message ...
I hope this is the right group.
I have some questions concerning SAP Transportation management; I haven't seen a special group for that, so I am here now.
In SAP TM there are some business objects like shipment requests, shipment orders and so on. Is there any documentation available how to program with these objects?
I have found some ways to access them by going through the SAP source code, but that's sometimes very hard, and I couldn't find yet the place where the node ids for the nodes pf the object are created.
    Best regards
    Martin

    Hi Keerthi,
thanks for your answer. I think that there is something different in the case of TM business objects. I can't see them in SWO1, and have not found any BAPI to handle the objects.
There is a transaction /TMSF/CONF_UI to display and change the business objects in SAP TM; and there are some menu items to create dictionary elements, access classes and wrapper classes, but they don't work (and I am not sure if this is the right way). In SAP TM source code, there are some general classes and interfaces that are used to access the TM business objects (like /SCMTMS/IF_LCP_FACADE), but they are all TM specific, so perhaps there is really a big difference between TM objects and other business objects. Maybe SAP has only chosen the same name for them.
SAP TM is still in an early phase of development, so I could imagine that there are still some missing things inside. But at least I managed to do some object access using the same methods as SAP did.
    Best regards

  • Update Database Through XML file using SAP B1 business objects

    Hello everyone,
I am facing a problem ie I am not able to update the Database(SQL 2000) through an XML file.
Though i am able to insert the data in the databse using xml file but unable to update that data.
The tables i want to update are OITM,ITM1,OITW. While i was trying to update  the Databse i was getting an error ie " -1107 Object's key is not set".
I dont want to use DTW for importing or anything.
Kindly help me out why i am facing this problem asap...

    Hi Pranay,
My case was that I wanted to replicate an item from one company to another (I guess that's your case also). What I finally did is copy field by field the objects I needed. Later I've find out the solution given here,
    Copy items between databases
but I haven't try it out. I expect your comments about it :).

  • Performance - Integration SAP BW - Business Objects XI 3.1

    Hi to all,
I have some performance problems when I create a report with almost 210K rows at 10 minutes.
I don't understand what solutions I have to set in my bex query in order to make it more slow. I suspect in fact that a lot of time is spend when the system read the master data (in my bo query I include some attribute of the characteristics).
I add that I read the data from an ODS and I don't have restriction into the key figure level or structures.
All characteristics are selected as free characteristics and all key figures are selected in the columns.
How can I test the improvement and different setting in order to accelarate my query ?
    Thank'you in advance!
Edited by: Duilio Paolini on Nov 22, 2010 4:37 PM

    Hi,
could you provide more details to the following questions:
    - which products from SAP BusinessObjects are you using ?
    - which release of those products - including service packs - are you using ?
    - what performance do you see when you execute the query in transaction RSRT ?
When you execute the query in transaction RSRT remember that all elements from your BusinessObjects report need to be in the rows to achieve a comparable result.

  • Which business objects do allow searching the associated file attachments?

    Hello search experts,
SAP Note 1249465 - TREX 7.1: Installing TREX for Embedded Search states:
"Embedded search enables every SAP Business Suite application to search in a unified way inside its business objects (structured data) and associated file attachments (unstructured data)."
Is there a list of business objects where the search in the associated file attachments is supported? I'm specially interested in the SAP CRM business objects. But a list for SAP ERP and the other Business Suite components would be nice too.
    Best regards
    Gregor

    Hi Ritwik,
for the Cycle 3 of Customer Connection for SAP CRM that was started last year this idea was submitted:
Integrate documents (attachments) into CRM embedded search
    https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/10637
unfortunately this topic spans cross multiple software components. The development was started but got stuck. In the moment the status of this request is "Handed over - Already in development planning (Handed over to Product / CEI topic owner)". So let's hope we will see a standard solution sooner or later.
    Best regards

  • Business Objects vs. SAP Strategy Management

    Hi all,
I am new to this forum and would like to post a message regarding the recent news on SAP and Business Objects.
Business Objects has more than 6000 CPM customers and in then meantime we find many statements like http://www.gartner.com/DisplayDocument?id=530626 in the web
Since the announcement a couple of weeks have passed. My question is, if you have detailed analysis on how the Balanced Scorecard solution of both companies will differ respectively overlap. Are there any documents on that point available? And are there any consequences to be expected e.g. with respect to the price model?
    Thanks for your help,
    Alessandro

    Hi Alessandro,
I fully agree with Prakash's reply - at the moment Nenshad's comments represent the 'only version of the truth' regarding the BOBJ acquisition.
However, there is still a possibility to add some useful information on this as you are referring to a 'Balanced Scorecard' solution in general. As there are currently two sides to this equasion: SAP and BOBJ, for the SAP part we can be more specific:
SAP Strategy Management (SSM) based on the technology acquired with Pilot Systems Co. in February 2007 is the tool of choice for scorecarding in the <u>current</u> CPM portfolio of SAP (SAP's current CPM portfolio is based on the acquisitions of Outlooksoft, Pilot and the reseller agreement with Acorn). This reduces the complexity a little bit as you no longer have to contemplate which of SAP's own scorecarding solutions is the leading one <u>at the moment</u>. SEM-CPM Balanced Scorecard is retired - being put in maintenance mode - and all customers encouraged to move to Strategy Management, facilitated by a planned migration utility.
Shall you want to learn more about SAP Strategy Management, feel free to refer to my blog series (e.g. <a href="/people/karol.bliznak/blog/2007/09/12/one-blog-is-not-enough--how-to-manage-performance-management).

  • Regarding Business object roles in CRM

    Hello friends,
What are the business object roles in CRM ?can any one can explain about this.
    Regards,
    Rajasekhar.

    Hi Rajasekhar,
Did you mean "business roles" ?
The concept of business roles is more used and important in WebUI. SAP CRM business roles are used to package the main business content needed to perform a specific job function. Defining a role influences the complete content visible to a user assigned to this role.
Some examples of standard roles are:
    SALESPRO (Sales Professional)
    SERVICEPRO (Service Professional)
    IC_AGENT & IC_MANAGER (Standard Interaction Center Agent & Manager)
Hope this is what you are looking for.

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I would like to write the certification on SAP Business Objects ,particularly on Web Intelligence ::
                                    1.QAWI201V3.0
                                     2.QAWI301V3.0
After Completing certification of above 2 papers ,I would like to know if i am issued with a certificate from SAP or Business Objects.
Can I call myself as a SAP certified in BO.
    Please reply asap.
    Regards,
    LAKSHMAN

    HI Vepuri,
I've been using BO for the last 2 years now and I've been looking at doing the certification exams, I believe there are 3 specifically in SAP BO.
I cant seem to find any material for the Web Intelligence paper and would really appreciate if you can recommend me some materials, a book or anything that you used to prepare for certification.
    Thanks,
Hope to hear from you soon,
    Best regards,
    Inderaj.

    Hello,
we are running Crystal Reports 2008 with SAP CRM 6.0.
To boost productivity or Report writeing we need especially access to:
    - Function Modules
    - the CRM Business Objects Repository (Transaction SW01).
What kind of SAP/CRM  ( or SAP / ERP )  Objects can be accessed with the Integration for
    SAP Solutions ?
The BO Documentation  [BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions User's Guide|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP2/en/xi31_sp2_bip_sap_user_en.pdf]  does not give a clue if this is possible.
However,  Ingo Hilgefort stated in his book that it is at least possible to access  ABAP Functions, SAP Querries and SAP InfoSets.
