Is SAP Netweaver environment compatible with CruiseControl open source tool

Hi All,
Can you please let me know if
Is SAP Netweaver environment compatible with CruiseControl open source tool?
If yes, steps to integrate the same.

Ken,
Few suggestions from my side.
>>who supports the code? It's free, so there is >>no 'technical support hotline' to call. For every >>package that we install, we therefore increase our >>workload.
This varies from package to package. If you see Hibernate which is a OR mapping library, you get support for it which is run by a altogether different company but you might not get the support for your other library codes. so..varies with what you are trying to use.
>>testing strategy - how many hoops do we make the code >>go through before we can be assured that >>it's 'production' ready?
This will also depend on the free source stuff you are trying to use. Say in case of Struts or log4j like packages, you wont find any flaws as the industry is heavily relying on these today. but a new library and yes, you need fair amount of testing for that.
>>what is the SAP stance on incorporating open source >>code into the J2EE engine? Does this in any way affect >>supportability?
SAP would be the best option to enquire with :).
>>rapid change - Open source code can change quite >>rapidly, so how do you handle this?
Not necessary you have to upgrade. If a current version suffices your business requirement then stick with it.
Even if you change to a latest version, you might need to tweak with your java versions (say upgrade java also) but the existing functionality in previous versions will continue to work fine though..
Hope this helps..

  • Is Adobe AIR compatible with the Open Source Media Framework (OSMF)?

Yes, OSMF can be used to play back content within an Adobe AIR application.

    Hi Pierre,
Would you mind adding this as a new bug report over at bugbase.adobe.com?  I went to look to see if there was an existing bug already in place but couldn't find one.  If you can, note this thread url in the bug and post back with the bug URL and I'll follow up internally.
In Yue's original bug, he was able to narrow this down to memory leaks in the spark component video display.  He ended up working around it by using the mx video display.

  • When will OS X Lion be compatible with Avid's Pro Tools 9, or any Pro Tools for that matter?

When will OS X Lion be compatible with Avid's Pro Tools 9, or any Pro Tools for that matter?

There's less money to be made from compatibility than there is from "forced upgrades."  Why would AVID be concerned with their older product working with the new OS when they can release another version for people to pay $250+ for?  Free bug-fix download vs. latest software upgrade?  You've got two companies with virtual monopolies on the pro audio market.  It's a win-win for them.
So what does that say to me about the handful that do not?  The incompatibility is a marketing decision, not a shortcoming.

  • Will JSE integrate more 3rd-party open source tools in the future?

Will JSE integrate more 3rd-party open source tools in the future?

Looks like this issue is the same as the one tracked in:
    http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=57046
Also, the thread http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=55897 discusses the topic "SJS8EA: how to add netbeans4.1 update center" ; users can add nb41 update center to jse and download and install the modules from netbeans update center. Users can also obtain the nbms directly from netbeans.org and other third party vendors and apply them to jse using "manually downloaded modules" option in autoupdate client. Of course, users should ensure that the downloaded modules are compatible with the version of nb a given jse version is based on.

  • Open source tool for oracle to mysql migration

    Hi,
Is there any open source tools available for the database migration from Oracle to MySQL.
    Please advice.

    Hi,
This forum is for migrating to Oracle from non-Oracle databases. It would be better if you tried an Internet search or the MySQL forum -
    http://forums.mysql.com/
for information about moving from Oracle to MySQL.

  • Need open source tool

i want to add a private key into a certificate file
what open source tool i can use ?

you are right but i did the other way around.
    I have a keystore.
I extracted certificate and the private key out of that keystore (by keytool and a custom java program)
Now, i would like to share this certificate and private key to a client (for the time being its the browser) so that the browser and the server are mutually authenticated in 2 way SSL.
so, if i can make a certificate + private key file ...then i could use Browser's Import tab and will pick up the file and then i'll call a secured Web Service from the browser.

  • Installation of SAP Netweaver 7.0 with SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.70 backend

    Hello everybody,
I need to install an SAP Netweaver 7.0 environment for a client who is currently using SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.70. However, I couldn't find any document about the compatibility of the two.
Does anybody know if it is possible to connect these versions of Netweaver and R/3?
Could you please tell me where I could get some documentation about it (for example : intallation guide of netweaver with SAP R/3 4.7 or docs about netweaver and R/3 4.7 connectivity) ?
    Thank you.
    Stan

    OK thanks.
The final need is to be able to create purchase requisitions or purchase orders in the enterprise portal with a simplified user interface for users who are not used to working with SAP and don't have the SAP client installed on their computer.
So they will use their web browser to connect to the portal and create the requisition for example. Then we wan't the data to be stored in the R/3 backend et other users will validate the requisition and deal with the rest of the process.
The second step will be to study the benefits we could get from installing Adobe document services and creating an adobe interactive form to simplify even more the user interface. The users would then fill the data for the purchase order or requisition directly in the form that looks like the form they get when printing.
I saw that we have to install the "R/3Plug-In 2004.1" in the backend to use our SAP 4.7 as a data source for the Portal.
Do you know if there are other steps to perform in the backend before we link it to the portal ?
    Thank you
    Stan

  • SAP Netweaver 7.3 with JDK 1.7

    Hi
I wanted to know whether SAP Netweaver Portal 7.3 is compatible with Java 1.7.
Will we face any issues if we upgrade the java version to 1.7 and the Portal version to 7.3
If anyone knows regarding this please reply us on the same.
    Regards
    JM

    Hi JM,
At least, this is not a supported scenario (for Java versions supported for the different NW releases, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/00/58338794f84e0cbba9424fb679af28/frameset.htm - with a slight error: In the meantime, SAP JVM 4 for 7.0 has been released).
Even if many things may run (to be tested), SAP NW often has issues with some specific JVM version; it is really sensitive with these things. So never do this in a PROD env.
    Hope it helps

  • Earliest version of SAP R/3 compatible with XI

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can find out the earliest version of R/3 that is compatible with XI ?
I am trying to connect an R/3 3.1i system and facing a lot of issues.
    Kind regards
    Colin.

    Hi Colin,
Are you using idoc or RFC adapter for integration ?
    Check this..
"The IDoc adapter enables you to process IDocs (Intermediate Documents) using the Integration Engine. IDocs from SAP systems Release 3.1x or higher are supported."

    Hi Sarathy,
If you are planning to develop a mobile application fresh , then it is recommended to use NW Mobile 7.10 as it comes to market with much more features compared to its predecessor..

  • SAP Netweaver XI / PI with ABAP or Basis?

I have good knowledge in SAP Netweaver XI abd PI several versions, now i would like to upgrade myself , which would be best option? ABAP or BASIS? , i dont have any idea about both, please guide me....which would be a better career for me to go with....
    1.Worked on XI 3.0, PI 7.0, PI 7.01, PI 7.02, PI 7.1, PI 7.11,PI 7.3 SAP Netweaver versions
2.Experienced in configuring System landscape directory,Enterprise service repository, integration directory, runtime work bench, Netweaver Administrator, message monitoring, component monitoring.
    3.Worked on SDM GUI, SAP GUI,Visual Administrator,Config tool,Deploy tool,JSPM and telnet
4.Good in channel ,agreements and determination creation and integrating components
5.Worked with various transport protocols like HTTP,TCP,FTP,MLLP,MQ series and File.
    6.Work with different Adapters
7.Worked in different OS like windows,unix,linux,hp-unix,solaris.
    Dont have knowledge in following
    1.Mapping
    2.ABAP
    3.Basis

I would suggest to educate yourself with SAP BPM and BRM. These are one of the interesting areas in the integration related tasks of SAP and those will change the way how to work with SAP integrations in future. This is already reality with SAP PI 7.3 and 7.31. When you are familiar with BRM, BPM you can learn eSOA of SAP.
However if you must select either ABAP or Basis, It depends the solution where you want to focus. If you want to focus NetWeaver platform and specially solutions like SAP PI, MDM etc. then learn Basis. If you want to work with SAP ERP learn ABAP.

  • ESS XSS delivered with SAP ERP 2004 compatible with SAP 4.7?

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has sought to implement the latest version of ESS (for SAP ERP 2004) for a SAP 4.7 backend?  Is this at all compatible?
I have implemented ESS 50.4 on EP6 SR1 and this works fine with a backend SAP 4.7, but I am interested in knowing whether the newer version of ESS (non-ITS) is compatible with SAP 4.7.  I am thinking not, but any experiences of others would be useful.
    Regards
    John Moy

    Hi John,
If you are concerned about ITS rendition of WEBGui content, then according to OSS Note# <b>197746</b> the WAS6.4 Integratred ITS should do the job.
Yet, till I get my hands wet with custom ESS 50.4 ITS templates upgraded to EP6.4 SP9, then I can assure the results.
    Regards,
    AAAttar
    <b>OSS Note# 197746...</b>
"As of release 6.40 of SAP Web Application Server the SAP Web AS Kernel includes a subcomponent called "SAP Integrated ITS". This component is the successor of the "standalone" ITS releases up to and including release 6.20. Since this component is integrated into SAP Web AS the rules that apply to the Kernel also apply to the SAP Integrated ITS.
Information on patches and maintenance periods for SAP Web AS Kernel can be found in OSS notes 19466 and 138704.
The Integrated ITS can only be used to run SAP GUI for HTML and IACs of the SAP System it is part of. Therefore there are no longer questions in regards to downward or upward compatability. Since the Integrated ITS consists of executables being part of the Kernel and templates, MIMES, etc. being part of SAP_BASIS you can only use the Integrated ITS if you have both SAP Web AS Kernel 6.40 and SAP_BASIS 6.40 or higher installed."

  • Connecting Websphere MQ with another open source Queuing System

    Hi everybody,
i work in a company that has already purshaced Websphere MQ as MOM, and we have some clients that unable to buy it. So is it possible that we find an open source queuing system such as ( openMQ, ActiveMQ ....) able of sending messages to a websphere MQ over a secured channel. I couldnt find any site on the internet that's telling me straightforward that this or that queuing system is able to connect with websphere MQ. So i'm begining to believe that it's impossible to have 2 different queuing systems working together and that it has to happen through an application server. Is that true ?? that every queuing system could only send messages to the same system and if not what open source queuing systems i can use with Websphere MQ ?? I'm really puzzled and hope anyone could help.
    Thank You

    Thanks. James.
