Dear SRM 7.0 experts,
We are implementing SRM 7.0 and our back end system is ECC 6.0 with EHP4. I have 2 questions:
1) To replicate purchase requisitions from ECC 6.0 to SRM 7.0 using the BADI ME_REQ_SOURCING_CUST, do we need SAP PI as a mandatory requirement?
2) To implement the Central Contract Management scenario, do qwe need PI as a mandatory requirement?

Solution Manager is not mandatory for SRM 7 implementation.
Only thing is Solution Manager contains best pratices for Project implementation e.g AS is process , to be process, blue print etc.
It is just a guilde. All things might not be required for your project.
We did it without solution Manager except that we used it for generating installation key & for maintainance opt.

Is OAS a mandatory requirement?

I’m new with Oracle and APEX and I want to know if OAS is a mandatory requirement. Actually I want to know why to use OAS with APEX.
In the documentation for installing APEX there are several references to the ORACLE_HTTPSERVER_HOME\Apache folder, but I couldn't find it in my computer.... so I continued with the installation by skipping those steps and apparently it worked. How is that possible? I've been working with APEX eventhough I haven't all the requirements.
I have an Oracle Database 10g Express Edition but I haven't installed OAS yet.

I have the full 11g1 Enterprise not XE
I've seen
ORACLE_HTTPSERVER_HOME
used in a description of installation for OAS
I can't find a reference to its definition. Last night Oracle would not process a general find.

512Mb VRAM a mandatory requirement for 4K/DPX rendering in Color in FCS?

"For rendering of 4K files and DPX: a graphics card with at least 512MB of VRAM
For 32-bit rendering: a graphics card with at least 256MB of VRAM"
- Is this a mandatory requirement to have 512Mb VRAM on the graphics card or is it just recommendation (i.e. the rendering will just run slower)?
I would like a definitive answer, please advise. Thanks in advance.

It will likely run FCP but won't run Motion or Color. If the fastest external drive connection you have is FW800 then you'll be somewhat limited in the number of streams of video you can work with at the same time.
Also, it would run better with 4 GB RAM.

SAP Best Practise. Requirement for CERTIFICATES for products being sold

Hi All
Please share is there a SAP Best Practice for using CERTIFICATES in SAP?
There is a legal requirement in Russia for products being SOLD: if product is subject to cerification, then company is now allowed to sell such product if certicate is missing or expired.
- product should be blocked for sales order/ quoatation if mandatory ceriticate is missing or expired.
Is there a SAP Best Practice for this kind of process?

I suppose this can be achieved through DMS (Document Mangament System).
You can customize the cross plant material master settings and link it to the DMS module.
The suggesstion I am givng is very high level, but it might help you to put your thoughts in that direction.

SAP Extractors with mandatory parameters

Hi,
This is a two part question really;
1. How do I specify parameters for a SAP Extractor that requires mandatory parameters (in the case i'm looking at, a from and to date) ? I've tried adding restrictions to the where clause of the query transform, but they don't seem to be getting passed back to the extractor.. Also, but can you preview the data when there are mandatory parameters ?
2. How can I determine from the metadata imported into data services if there are mandatory parameters ? Is there an 'Extactor manual' than comes with SAP ECC I should be referring to ?
My experience thus far is extractors are great when they work, but a complete mystery when they don't . Based on the feedback I am getting from SAP support, they don't have much of a clue about extractors outside of openhub..

You can write a custom Java iView, calculate the variable param there and use URLGenerator to get the URL for the SAP transaction. Then just display it in an IsolatedHTMLContainer in the iView.

Do you see in SPAU Snotes with status "SAP note <no.> obsolete; de-implementation necessary"
If yes then only proceed with note implementation. Else this is not required.
Note says: When you observe such status and try to de-implement the note , it destroys the code.
So if you observe such status and want to perform de-implementation of SAP note, first implement this note and then proceed with de-implementation.

Hi Prakash,
firstly you should check that sending email messages works okay from SAP Office. If you can't send messages from there then you have no chance doing it from a program.
Then, if you want to send email externally, you need to ensure the SMTP plug-in is properly configured. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/af/73563c1e734f0fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm covers this.
Then, yet again, ensure you can send messages to external recipients <b>and receive their replies</b> in SAP Office before trying to do it from a program.

The actual memory can be checked using ST02.

Thanks for the propmt reply.
We are just planning to do a Disaster Recovery Mock Run. We will be restoring production server database to test server and will be recovering a database and then will start SAP.
But not sure, if 4 CPU and 8 GB will allow to start SAP. Can you help? Currently Instance profile memory parameters has been set for 64 GB memory. I need to adjust the profile parameter propationately for the less CPU and memory ? how to check and do that.

Error in SAP APO Inbound: capacity requirement is invalid

Hi Experts
I am getting an error in APO Inbound in APO queue manager. The error text reads " Capacity requirement is invalid".
I checked for all the resources whether they have validity and also checked for mismatching control key. But these fields are allright in both ECC and APO system.
I checked note # 924562, but i am still not able to solve this issue.
Can you please suggest how should i debug this error?

Were you able to replicate the issue on which activity triggers this CIF error?
I remember a similar error which happened when converting planned order to production order where it was giving error"“Bucket capacity requirement has an invalid value” .
SAP had suggested to implement note 1381483 to fix this.

I am assuming you are speaking about 100 concurrent users and not the entire company userbase.
Core i5 (although is dual core underneath) is generally meant for desktops, having said this, please note that its difficult to arrive at any recommendation based on simply userbase. You need to have more data with you with respect to amount of transactions, concurrent users, peak period, load during peak period etc.
You need to use SAP's quicksizer to calculate the amount of SAPS for your production servers, SAPS is the unit used to calibrate your hardware for running SAP Applications.
If you provide your SAPS value to hardware vendor, they will advise what CPU rating and how many CPUs you need. They will infact tell you the entire configuration that you need.
