Is SAP SCM its own SAP Module

Hello,
I would like to know if the SAP CRM Application Component (see attachment) its own SAP Module is or does it belong to other modules like SAP SD or SAP MM?
Cheers,
Oliver

Oliver,
Define what you mean when you say 'SAP Module'.
SCM is SAP software.  It can licensed and implemented as a standalone solution, or more commonly, it can be integrated with other SAP software.  It typically runs on its own hardware.  It is member of the family of products known as 'SAP Business Suite'.  SAP ERP is also a member of this family.
Take a look at Help.sap.com to see more info.

  • Sap not following its own rules

i made a vendor recon account and assigned a sort key 010 to it. then i created a vendor master record and in that also i gave sort key as 010.   now i made a po then grn then miro.
as a result of simulation in miro i got an entry vendor recon account cr with no po no. in purchasing doc column and gr/ir debit with po no. being displayed.
when i did fbl1n for this vendor account i didnot get anything in assignment field while it was expected that po no should be reflected in assignment field as sort key assigned to this vendor master record was 010
why is this happening SAP is not following its own rule that what ever is given in sort key what we see in assignment field
please explain with some solid proof

The system uses a standard sort sequence for displaying line items. Among other things, it sorts the items according to the content of the Allocation field. This field can be filled either manually or automatically (by the system) when a document line item is entered.
For this purpose, the system requires rules that determine which information is to be taken from the document header or from the document line item and placed in the field. The rules can be stored in the master record of an account which enables you to determine the standard sort sequence on an account-specific basis.
You have to define the rules for the layout of the assignment number field in the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Determine Standard Sorting for Line Items.
    Hope you understand the concept.

  • Portal Navi Structure: Business Function Cnetric or SAP Module Centric?

    Dear all,
When designing your portal navigation, which layout would you prefer?
    1. Business Function Centric
top level has tabs representing different business departments (HR, Finance, Sales, etc.)
    2. SAP Module Centric
top level has tabs representing different SAP modules (HR, MM, SD, BW, etc.)
We know that either design has its pros and cons. Really would like to know which way most you go?
    Many thanks and best regards,

You raised in deed a very good question. For people new to SAP products it is not always clear what belongs to what since a lot of stuff is part of SAP ERP (deployed as a SAP ECC system).
To answer most of your questions:
Most of the things above are in deed part of ECC. ESS/MSS is part of ERP HCM and therefore ECC. But many companies dont deploy HCM with the rest of ECC, but put HCM in a seperate installation/deployment - so two deployments of ECC.
SolMan is not part of ECC. It comes as an own system which need to be deployed seperately from ECC. SolMan helps IT departments with ITIL processes, technical monitoring, etc.
TM is based on SCM, I am not sure if it can run with other SCM modules.
BW as well as BO are seperate and used for data warehouse and reporting toolsets.
PI is SAP's Enterprise Service Bus and also used for SOA.
CRM is for Sales and Marketing processes - a seperate deployment deeply integrated with ECC.
For Strategy management and BPC I am not 100% sure.
    Hope that helps!

  • Which is the best SAP module?

    Hi,
my name is vamsi and i have just completed my graduation and i am looking forward do SAP course but, as there are a lot of modules im confused what to select. Can you please suggest me which module is good and has a good demand in  the industry which can help me grow up in my career?
    Thank you.

    Hi Vamsi,
As you are a fresher just out of colleage you can select any module in sap as you like but before doing that please consider the following point:
First: Think in which subject you were most interested and always tried to learn more in your academics. Off course it has to do something with your stream of your education as well like for example: if your subject is Bachelor of Commerce then its natural that you would like to go for SAP Financials & Controlling. However if are a Bsc Graduate then think if you like coding, if the answer is yes, think about SAP ABAP option. If you are a Arts Graduate then think which functional skill you want to adopt, is it Sales, Logistics etc. If you have studied Industrial engineering like stuff you may want to go for Plant Maintenance related module etc. So Stream and subject plays a role for you to decide.
Second: No matter which SAP module you select to pursue its always good to read and know some basics of that module what it does, which way it is applicable in the industry, how is the job position,
etc. this will basically give you an idea about which module you want to learn.
Let me know if you need more information or career guidance.
You can join me in linkedin as well if you need.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Which SAP module will suite my profile?

Hi , I have just joined this forum. I am a MBA Finance graduate with 6.5 years of experiences- 4 years in Insurance operations ,2 years in real estate operations and 6 months as a Project Consultant- Project management in Hospitality Industry. Now I am jobless and looking for jobs in Bangalore. I need someone to guide me and suggest me a suitable SAP module which can enhance my career opportunities. I thinking of exploring the opportunities in SAP. Please do suggest and comment. Thanks.

    Hi manju,
How much it cost you to train in FICO -15-20 k . Don't accept any high priced offer even if someone tell you that they take you to heaven .
Where to join ? The good ones are not in public . They do things in private because they are scared of SAP 's legal actions .No board. No advertisement and no online presence, it will be hard to figure them out.Their main ad is their own students . Word of mouth . So talk to more and more people in this field .
However all the local garbage in Bangalore will pop up a thousand times as soon as you google  sap FI Bangalore . Try it , just for the sake of it . Don't join anyone of it . If you accidentally visit them ,then don't be surprised if they hire you as a trainer to train those come after you for a nominal commission .
Another trap is sap authorized institute . Don't ever go there. No not at all . They are worse than those I mentioned above . I always wonder why SAP spoils their great brand with such a low quality institute . Those institutes are like garbage out of all the garbage. It's a  complete waste of money . If you don't want to feel like a rape victim, you shouldn't join them . Their charges are 2-4 lakhs .
How long it take to get grip ? It depends on each individual . Depends on how much time they spend to practice , read, write own notes , and presentation practice for job interview . One thousand hours of combined above effort should make a person comfortable with FI .
Good luck . Keep trying . Eventually you will win . Today's top FI consultants were just like you few years ago . There is no rocket science here, but just common sense.

  • Which Sap Module Should I Opt

    Hello Everyone,
Please suggest me which SAP module should i opt for. Listed below are my details.
I have almost 3 years of experience in IT & Telcom job sector and am currently working in Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence department of a Telecom Company. I have a plan to do my Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
Please suggest which SAP Mosule should i opt for, should it be the BI or any thing  else, also the module which is the future of SAP..
    Thanks.

    Hi Ayub,
What kind of experience you have in IT?Do you have any programming knowledge?
Are you interested in programming in SAP? Depending on your answers, it would be easy for us to suggest you.
If you are interested in programming, best is to go for SAP Netweaver which is hot and demanding and will be good in future too.It is based on ABAP and Java.
If you are not interested in programming, best is to go for SAP BW or any SAP Function Modules like SD or MM or FI/CO or SRM or SCM or CRM.
Regarding your MBA, what is the specialization you want to take in MBA like Marketing or Finance or HR....etc..... Depending on your interest you can choose the respective module for SAP training.
Any SAP module training in Siemens (who is the authorized training partner of SAP) costs you around 3 laks and after getting the certification, it will be a bit easy to get jobs with the certification.
Local/unofficial institutes normally charge from 5000 rupees to 20,000 rupees depending on the module and the their program structure.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Srinivasa

    Hello Snehal,
First of all, you could have started a new thread of discussion as this thread belongs to Debapriya.
Well, coming back to your query, i must tell you : You cant imagine how  lucky you are to be in such a position where you have been asked to learn both. There are thousands around you will find who is trying so hard to get into such position but failing finding it too hard as getting a break into SAP is a tough one.
To answer you straight, i can say one thing :
Close your eyes and jump in. SAP is like an ocean until and unless you swim and land to the bottom of it you will not be able to see how beautiful it is. In one sentence, grab this opportunity without any second thought.
Following points will be helpful for you to understand why:
    1. SAP BI has pretty good involvement  of  ABAP  for customization to be carried out and as you already have been to ABAP  learning BI and customizing situation according to business needs will be easy  if you have this niche skill
    2. SAP BI with ABAP is one of the most demanding module if you go through the job market. Once you gain experience and keep on learning  there will be no stopping.
    Now answer to your questions:
    Snehal patil wrote:
M really confuse whether should i take this project or not . whats the scope of BI ? is it in demand ? how about Abap + BI ?. will HANA replace Abap in BI or BI (not sure still numerous doubt in mind). need valuable advice.
    Ans: First question is answered.
Scope of BI if you read the whole discussion, it has already been answered, i hope it will be              enough to answer your second question. please go through above replies.
3rd question has also been explained see above point 1 and 2.
    Snehal patil wrote:
will HANA replace Abap in BI or BI (not sure still numerous doubt in mind). need valuable advice.
Ans:  No is the direct answer. HANA is database to make BW and BO run faster on it as because of the in memory concepts. But its not meant to replace BW.
Once again, please dont think anything much, you are on correct track, just jump in without second thought.
I hope these info helps you a bit.
    Regards....

  • How to test the SAP modules like SD and MM By using Quality Center and QTP

    Hi Experts,
How to test the SAP modules like SD and MM By using Quality Center and QTP. Can you please provide the documentation regarding this.
    Regards,
    Skumar.

    Hi Sampath,
First install QTP and SAP Addin with in QTP.
2nd use QC to develop the test plan and then convert that test plan design to Test Scripts (QTP vesrion using settings)
3rd record the R/3 GUI screen of SAP for SD, MM like Create order or Create PR.
Once recording is done QTP will create a script in VB
    SAPGuiSession("Session").SAPGuiWindow("SAP Easy Access  -  User").SAPGuiOKCode("OKCode").Set "/nVA01"
    SAPGuiSession("Session").SAPGuiWindow("SAP Easy Access  -  User").SendKey ENTER
you can always add a parameter and other customization according to your requirement.
Let me know if you need more information regarding this.
    Good Luck!

First time using this thread. I have a few queries, like I have done my Master of Information systems and have a good techniccal knowledge also, and now i want to do some modules in SAP, so please guide me which will be best module for me?
    thanks
    samruts

Not correct forum to discuss this. Every SAP module need some kind of practical knowledge. It depends on what you are looking for and you are interested in. Visit help.sap.com and check some online helps.
technical knowledge mean what? programming or functional?

  • Current list of all SAP modules and sub-modules

Can anyone point me to a current and comprehensive list of all available SAP modules and sub-modules?  Currently, the best source I have found for this list is SAPNote 36677, which lists all the structure of components for customer incidents.  However, this SAPNote list is over 23K line items and includes information outside of the modules and sub-modules, in a format that is difficult to normalize.

    Eric,
a similar question was posted in this link: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3652322
Assuming you are looking for an overview on the modules for the SAP Business Suite, personally I like the list in the SAP help
Also a valuable resource is the SAP Release Strategy webpage, which provides link to the Solution Explorer, which shows the available modules by LoB Line of Business or Industry solution, and the official Product List called PAM Product Availability Matrix, which is pretty technical.
    thank you
