Is SAP XI for freshers or not ?

Hi,
I am Abhilash,presently pursuing Master's in Computer Science, and interested to learn SAP XI.But i do not have any experience in IT field, and i do not have knowledge about .net and Java technolgies.I'm a bit confused whether i have to go for SAP XI or not ?
Secondly, which module in SAP is rewarding and best to learn for a fresher.
Lastly, i would like to know some good consultants ( in USA )who train and place freshers.
Please do suggest me at the earliest.

First let me welcome you to the XI world...........
Well when working with XI our XI system doesnot know who is a fresher or who is experienced. So you dont worry about that. If you want you can go ahead and learn XI.
To learn XI, if you know the basics of JAVA or ABAP or XML that would be an added advantage.
Since you are a fresher my suggestion would be learn ABAP also along with XI.
Regarding the best consultants in US there are so many. Kindly check with your friends or in the internet.

May I know what could be the issue for the above issue?
We are trying to request for a ITS in a c#.net program with the following codes.

From the little information available here I can suggest following:
1.     Check the Account validity and authorizations of the User used for authentication from DOT NET. If possible, assign SAP_ALL in Development and repeat tests. Later we can narrow down the access easily.
2.     There is a known Kernel issue with ICF logon message handling, described in SAP Note 1241566 - Set of corrections: Logging on 1/2008. Check if the recommended Kernel patch level is already applied.
If none of the above helps, please send me the following:
1.     Trace file for the work process 0 in transaction ST11 on the application server spsisd_ISD_00
2.     Generate trace files with the highest trace level (3) as per SAP Note: 507994 - Generating plug-in trace files for troubleshooting and send it over.
We can look at various Kernel and Service level calls from trace files which should help us identify the root cause.

SAP MM for Freshers

Can a new graduate from college enter into SAP MM without working on the real function just by learning the Business Process ... This message may help other freshers who are studying and getting trained in SAP ...
2.If they have a initial Business Process training in MM functions before they work on MM application will it help them.

It is good to have some functional expereince/training before coming to MM. Atleast min 6 months experience should be there for a person to get into SAP for any Fuctional module.
Otherwise initial Business process training also help you to become SAP FunctionalConsultant.

Iview (sap gui for windows) not in mode full screen

Hi all,
I was last week working in a performance problem with ITS. We discovered that ITS (sap gui for html) is not the best when you have to show a lot of cells in the same page.
So the custom decided to run this transaction thru the portal, using an iview.
The problem now is that we dont want to show the sap menu, the transaction menu. Also we want this screen integrated in the browser. I have checked the options and looks like correct.
Launch in New Window = Display in content portal area.
I know that with ITS we can modify the menu, with somethink like this:
~WEBGUI_SIMPLE_TOOLBAR = 34
Is this possible with SAP Transaction iView fo sapgui windows?

In short, the answer is, yes.
There is however some additonal considerations you can make before creating hybrid roles with Web/Win Gui iviews.
When you start this scenario you don't have a standardised environment. You need to ensure all users accessing the iview have the Win Gui installed - again overhead, particularly when displaying inline of the webpage - even more of an issue when serving content to the outside world.
Have you tried to create a page (set the width to what you think can accomodate the requirements of the transaction you are calling), then assign the iView of the WebGui transaction you were having issues with to that? It should dynamically resize the iview to the page within the content area to allow your users to scroll to the right if need be. Just a thought.
Another scenario is to create a Z-App and enhance the screen of the SAP ABAP transaction to meet your needs, then call that transaction via the webgui. You can do much with webgui you can't do with WinGui e.g you can send users email that references the portal iView and send parameters via url query strings to prepopulate screen fields. You can control how users navigate within the portal.

WebDynpro proxy page with Webdynpro iView and SAP Gui for html iView

Hello,
I have a requirement to have a page that has at the top of it a webdynpro for java iView screen with several links that when pressed pop-up various data pulled from the back-end. This part is fine and presents no problem. Beneath this the requirement calls for a SAP Gui for HTML iView to be displayed. Which is no problem either. The problem occurs when one of the links in the java webdynpro application at the top of the screen is pressed it causes the SAP Gui for HTML portion to refresh and come back to the beginning. So for example you first navigate to this screen and you go into the sap gui for html portion and drill into 2 or 3 screens in the sap gui for html transaction. If you then press one of the webdynpro links the sap gui for html (which is a separate iView) refreshes and you are taken back to the initial screen. This only occurs when using a web dynpro proxy page. If I use a standard page the SAP Gi for html does not refresh. Unfortunately there are other things not mentioned here that require us to use the webdynpro proxy page.

Use System admin -> System Config and find your system in the PCD (under portal content). Right click and open -> permissions. Find a user or group or role and give it the end user permission. I'd suggest the group Everyone.

ESD or SAP Website for updates?

We use PrintForm, Ace and Presort. As far as I know, the last official word was that we should use the old ESD for directory updates and to download software, but this would be migrated to the SAP website 'soon'. Has this actually happened? There is no indication on the ESD website that we should use the SAP site now. But it appears that the software and directory files are now on the SAP site. The last e-mail I received on the subject indicated that customers should continue to use the ESD.
Which is the authorative site? If the SAP site is the correct place, could a splash screen or something be set on the ESD to ware/redirect customers?

You can use either the ESD or SAP website for downloads. Not all download have been migrated to SAP for all customers yet. If your downloads are on SAP feel free to use it for downloading.

SAP GUI for Windows - Extended Notification

Hello All,
I have set up the extended notifications for outlook integration with sap workitem.
Subscription settings are as follows:
SHOW_ACTION_DECISION_AS     - Link
SHOW_ACTION_DISPLAY_AS      - Link2
SHOW_ACTION_EXECUTE_AS      - Link2
SHOW_INBOX_AS                         - Link2
I am receiving the work item on outlook successfully.
Now the thing is, when i click on display/execute/workflow inbox link; it is opening the SAP GUI for html & giving error "host not found". As per my subscription settings, it should open the work item in SAP GUI for windows.
I am using the general task TS..8267 & not defined any SWFVISU config to overwrite SWNCONFIG.
Do i have to make any other setting so that my http link "Workflow Inbox"/"Display Work Item"/"Execute Work Item" gets open in SAP GUI for windows and not in SAP GUI for html?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

with all respect, but this is nonsens, I mean not your answer, but SAP's policy.
Today I can customize Windows, webpages (if implemented), my Android smartphone, with all colors, icons and much more.
SAP is ages back in time, I would dare to say that SAP even made a huge step backwards with the new design and should re-think its policy.
How many times customers have asked for a custom-colored GUI? Countless, I would say. Speaking from the point of a developer it is important to see at first glance which systems I've logged on, and believe me we have plenty of it.

Shift+F2 not working in SAP GUI for ITS

Hi,
In my transactional iview (SAP GUI for ITS) , in one of the screens, shift+F2 is not working(Which in turn opens graph for the report) The same is working fine in SAP GUI for html.
How can i make this work?
Also, can i have a document with the comparision of SAP GUI for html & SAP GUI for ITS, specifying its advantages and dis-advantages as well?..
Pls treat this query as urgent and respond ASAP.

Browser is not opening from the webgui or SAP GUI for HTML

I am in critical scenario how to work on the below scenario.
I have installed an NW7.0 with few functional components.as per the user request i had activated webgui and it is working fine in internet.for this we have done the following steps.
1. Activated the webgui/mimes in SICF
2. published in SE80 for WEBGUI and SYSTEM.
3. Created a reverse proxy in Micrsoft ISA through our network team for the internet users.
example : http://servername.xyz.com:8005/sap/bc/.../webgui
reverse proxy URL : http://sapabap.domain.com/sap/bc../webgui -- working URL
i could access sm50,sm21 and so..on.But when i try soamanager transaction or any other transaction which picks a browser and display the screen which is not working. It picks the intranet link or servername with port( http://servername.xyz.com:8005/sncrr or soamanager..).Is HTTPS is required to enabled ( ithink not necessary since it is an secured login procedure.) i could able to see in se80settingsITS Tab --servername.xyz.com:8005
May i know why it does not picks up the reverse proxy URL. I have tried with hosts file with many options but is it not working

Hi Bala,
If you go to transaction SE80 -> Repository Information System -> Other objects -> Transactions and you search for SOAMANAGER, you get into the screen where you can modify attributes for this transaction. Please check if there are strange values entered in there... Or maybe SAPGUI for HTML is not selected.

Launch Approval Appraisal Documents in Iview format not SAP GUI for HTML

Sorry iam not sure whether this is the right place to post this question.
I have a requirement where i need to change the appearance of UWL tasks related to appraisal approval.
Whenever a user clicks on approve apraisal tasks it is popping SAP GUI for HTML and taking to the backend showing Performance appraisal display.Our client are in need of normal iview rather than sap view( sap gui view).
I have identified the tasks related to approval appraisal.The tasks in the backend are
approval appraisal - perf appraisal - ts91000005, URL generation - ts12300108 , Submitted obj - WS 91000003.
i have created an iview based on http://xxx.xxxx:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/hap_document/documents_todo.htm?sap-client=xxx&sap-user=xxxx&sap-language=E
i have given the ID and iview PCD link in SWFVISU.Reregistered UWL again and logged in as a test user.When clicked on Appraisal approval i can see the appraisals completed.It wont allow us to edit.All hap_documents are BSP pages.
I guess i did something wrong.

You will probably have to change the XML being used in your UWL. Go into the ItemType portion for the PM task and check/set the following properties

Check if your Action tags within the ItemTypes have the following properties
name="launchIView" handler="SAPAppLauncher"
Check whether the Property within Action tags is linked to your BSP view that you want to trigger when the task is clicked
For e.g. <Property name="SAPIntegrator" value="ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.pages/....."/>
Once you change your XML dont forget to re-register your ItemTypes to the connector you are using.

BBS BEX Query to R3 Transaction - Connect to SAP GUI for HTML not to R3 Backend-TA

Hi Experts,
I try to customize a report-report-interface from a bex query to R3 transaktion fs10n.
I configurated everything in TA RSBBS within BI.
When I start the BBS from the BEX Query a browser session opends, I have to enter the login data for the R3 system an SAP GUI for HTML is started.
Several years ago I tried the same and was connected directly to the Backend-Transaction within R3.
Was there a change within the last year?
Is it possible to configure somewhere in R3 or BW that I want to be tranferred to the Backend-TA and not to open a SAP GUI for HTML?
Can someone help?

Hi Stephen,
You should try running one of these transaction iViews using Firefox and have Firebug installed (or use HTTP watch in IE). This might show you why the styles are not being loaded, it could be that since the upgrade something has changed in the SICF configuration settings that is blocking the download of the CSS... that is just a guess, but if you use a tool that will show you the HTTP traffic (like Firebug) then you might get a better idea of what is going on.

Dear experts,
i m using sap gui for html in transations iview
but when i go to trasaction and click on some field automatically blank window comes(no any trasaction or no any field view)
it not happen on all the field but on some field for eg;- when i use tcode zhuct right click on first field works properly but other field not execp right click(blank window comes)
please help im in great problem.
due to this problem i am not able to impliment portal

I have encountered an issue which I am not able to resolve.
The Issue is like that SAP ArchieveLink For Dunning Document Is not Getting Archieved For a Particular customer whose Dunn.Procedure = DPPD But in the same system it is getiing archieved for other customer whose Dunn.Procedure DPCD.
In our system there is one Job (Z_SD_DK_SALSA_DUNN) through which it can be done

Is there any archival setting we have to maintin in BTE (Business Transaction Event) if it is yes then where and how we have to maintain.
Please give me some guideline to resolve this

could you please check if you have read- and write-permission for the path which is mentioned in the
error message?
Further please check transaction DC20 and inform us which path you have maintained for your frontend type?
Additionally please go to transaction DC30 and verify if you have maintained the parameter %AUTO% for workstation application PDF. If you have maintained this value the control is normally handed over to your operating system (e.g. Windows). In this case please check also the Windows folder options for file format PDF. For this, go to 'Start -> Settings -> Control Panel' and select folder 'Folder Options', highlight extension 'PDF' under tab 'File types', click button 'Advanced' and check whether the correct paths are maintained for the relevant actions (e.g. open or print).

Image not displaying properly for SAP GUI for HTML transaction iview

Hi,
We have a sap gui for HTML iview for transaction REORRR in portal. After giving enough inputs this leads to Business Document Navigator screen(part of Document management) where i need to display a document(.jpg image in this scenario). When i double click on the image it is opening on the right side of the screen but in a compressed format where in we need to scroll down to see the image. But i would require the image to display with out scroll bar or in a new window.
When i change the format of the iview as SAP GUI for Windows the image is opening in a new window.
I would like to know whether there is any configaration settings either in portal or in Document management side. or is this any limitation of the SAP GUI for HTML scenario.

I m trying to install Netweaver 7.0 BI and portal with SR3 package. Installation is Cluster installation on windows 2008 and sql 2008 platform. When I came to Centarl instance installtion. On Start Java Phase I had the error. I put the error below. I check the notes Note 1071472 - FileSystem SecureStore connection issues, Note 914818 - JSPM: Could not detect database, Note 1154133 - JSPM: SAP Java Crypto Toolkit was not found.

It looks like the JCE file which you have downloaded is not the correct one. As you can see some jar files are missing. Check JCE files.
